Anyone else get the feeling that come May, Joshua Zipkin is going to be rocking out to Bon Jovi in Bulgaria with a pocket full of OUR MONEY.

I agree with some of the above posters, if you cleared out your bank account on a miner in hopes that you will 'get rich quick' then you've made a terrible decision despite AMT's actions.

With that said, let's not cannibalize on the guy - after all AMT hasn't fulfilled their promises and should be held accountable.

Wheres the video we were promised AMT?

Guess it's still at the production house? Perhaps they hired some guys to create CGI of the miners in action.  Roll Eyes

anyone want to buy a 80GH mining rig?  works fine, now that i fixed it.  =)

That's terrible and I'm sorry that's how things turned out for you. I have a feeling there will be a lot more people feeling the same way soon.

This thread needs to be mandatory reading for people getting into pre orders for miners.

I was new to bitcoin mining at the time of my purchase, and the price was near it's all time high.    I had to get something mining now, as it appeared to be money just sitting there waiting to be had.  lol.  sucker!!

I didn't do enough research and made a hasty purchase.  With the price of BTC at the time, i figured i would get my money back fairly quick.  I had no clue as to how fast the mining difficulty rises, or that i would have to wait an extra month for my rig to get delivered.  a fool and his money.....

Do your research before spending any money, even if it takes a week or two to read all the forums.  I can't stress that enough.

Since the time of my purchase, I've found that the bitcoin mining community is very small, and for the most part very helpful and mostly honest.  I'm obviously not including the scammers in that statement.  Point is, if you have a question on a rig or whatever, ask.  You'll get plenty of answers that will most likely save you a ton of cash.  Use the forums and various IRC channels to your benefit, BEFORE you buy.

Yes, I find a lot smart technical people are getting hooked on the idea of fast money through mining: this is where the scams come in to take advantage of people that have those $'s in their eyes.

onto AMT...

The 'over support' and 'over optimism' exhibited by certain users here for AMT have been completely unwarranted. I think this is just a defense mechanism when you've spent a lot of money and want it to work out in the end. We need to put these so-called "startup companies" under heavy scrutiny at first as there is a lot of money on the line if they go solvent as a company.

Even if AMT has the best intentions in mind, if they fail as company (defective hardware/fire/failied design/bankruptcy) everyone is screwed. This is why a company need to sell you on "THEM AS A COMPANY" beforehand. This whole process is skipped in the bitcoin mining industry because it's all about getting the latest and greatest hardware as soon as possible. This limited time frame makes a lot of people overlook the details about these 'companies' and put the money up front quickly.

At this point, even if they get these trickling out late: the disappearing ROI due to delays in shipping and the overall customer experience will make it hard to leave AMT a positive review.

1485  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 26, 2014, 12:37:29 AM

I've wondered the same thing since the deal went down. I was pretty neutral right from the beginning. I did jump a guy for yelling "scam" without any evidence, but he was yelling that in every thread regardless of merit. That's the only thing I can figure.

In my personal dealings with AMT, they were quite nice on the phone (well, Jim was, I never spoke with anyone else), but they got rather personal on the forum. That's unacceptable in my book, and I said so.

Then one day they say they picked me to get a miner and review it. I was blindsided, and no one in their right mind is gonna turn down free hashpower, so I took the deal. I've been up front about the whole thing. Why me, I don't know.

The box it arrived in was sealed with duct tape and random pieces of styrofoam, but well secured. It was a few days later than they said, but I figured I wasn't a high priority, given the nature of the deal. Later I find out that most other people who had PAID didn't get their miners or got them very late. I like the machine, but I feel used.

Oh well, live and learn I suppose.

Onward. Has ANYONE reading this got a tracking number on the Coincraft based miners? Even the low end ones?

Sounds like you were used, but at least you got something out of it. Better hold onto that miner, it might becomes a collectors edition over the course of the next month or two  Grin

How would you of liked to be the guy that paid cash for that same miner, only to hear someone else got one already for free for testing. Then you have to wait a few weeks to finally receive yours, past the original estimated shipping date.

*BUMP* On tracking information for coincraft miners... Please let us know!
1486  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 25, 2014, 11:57:51 PM
Stan-o, I have the same unit as you, and other than the bad board, about the same experience (except costs, as they gave it to me to review). All I would add to that was that I left mine as configured, and haven't had any issues with heat. Well, I do run it without the cover. I think at half the price and half the delivery time, it'd still be worth buying, but I don't see those conditions coming to pass.

Let's not forget that you also got yours for free, whereas Stan had to shell out money for his.

Stan, the question is - If you were able to return that miner for a FULL refund, would you?

If yes, perhaps you should try. It sounds like you have great reasoning to demand one.

Thanks again for the in-depth review.

Of course. That was why I mentioned the cost. I was paid, in essence, whereas Stan-o pretty much got shafted by the delays. I'm not proud of that, nor saying it to rub things in. Just for full disclosure. I try to be very honest in everything I do. Had they followed through on their various promises, I would try to pimp this company. As it is, I have to recommend against them. Dammit.

It too bad AMT decided to conduct business this way.

I'm still wracking my brain as to why they'd send you one for free. I'm starting to think, like the other guy said; that it was to rouse up more investors when someone on this board posted that they were hashing with one of their miners.

Either way it looks like amateur hour in turns of how those earlier miners were built. Like two guys sitting there with a table full of random computer hardware, and somehow were able to turn out a few miners. Consistency was an afterthought; and if whoever shipped the miners actually waited to hit the bong after the miners were packed, maybe parts/cables wouldn't have been left out.
1487  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 25, 2014, 11:38:11 PM
Biomech,

The antminers might not have a case but in my opinion they probably run a lot cooler and more efficient this way.

The computer cases aren't really necessary at all; most people run their mining hardware (boards) in milk crates or out in the open for optimal air flow.

1489  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 25, 2014, 06:39:18 PM
will i make $6000? for those of you confused out there.

If you actually get the machine, I think you will. Can't prove it, of course, but I suspect when the Gox thing gets resolved, the price will go way up. I've watched bitcoin for a couple years now, and it always seems to rally to about 150 percent of it's last high after a dive like this, then settle back down to a new, higher floor. It stayed stable at about 800 for quite a while, then tanked on the Gox fiasco. My prediction, for what it's worth, is the next "peak" will be around 1500. If I sell any in the next few weeks it'll just be to make ends meet. Mine and hold!

p.s. got your forwards.

Sorry, Jim and AMT, but this is unacceptable. You've asked me to be objective, and here's the objective tl:dr. I love the machine. But there should be hundreds of them out there, not a few. Your customer services is beyond abysmal. I cannot in good conscience endorse this company, even though they've been good to me personally. Sad

Biomech,

Thanks for your reviews of that miner and your honest opinion.

With that said, you all should take a look at the build quality of the lesser miners (anything under the 1.2TH model) - the build quality on these miners seems very sketchy. Also, of the reviews there are various people stating they forgot to include usb cables, boards being blown, PSUs being blown, poor packaging and damaged miners in shipping/etc. It just seems like they have cobbled some of these units together sloppily. I think for the amount of money being spent on any of these models, it's ridiculous for the customer to have to run out and buy cables or hardware since AMT forgot to include them.

Hopefully if the 1.2TH ever get distributed, we'll see a better build quality - but by that time it might be too late to even break even on the miner.

1490  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 24, 2014, 04:54:14 PM
Fuck this thread.

This is the most ridiculous shit I've ever seen. You guys need to wake up and smell the coffee.

I'll be back in a week when everyone still doesn't have their miners, and are coming up with new excuses and conspiracy theories as to why.
1491  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 24, 2014, 05:18:18 AM
Are we back to being uncertain if AMT is real... again... again...

Didn't we get past "reality", about 40 pages back? Is this one of those Einstein things, or the matrix?

Photos, videos, telephone-calls, emails, mail-boxes, bank-accounts, physical shop, linked-in pages, servers, website...

All that is not real?

Looks around... Touches self... Touches self again... Am I even real? Oh, yea, I am a customer, and you implied customers are real.

Looks at screen... Touches screen... (It is not a touch-screen. Well, it does not respond to touching like I do. But you can still touch it.) That feels real! AMT is on my screen, so they must be real too!

Myth busted.

Sorry, had to add some more stupidity to the mix, while I waited for the new video to be uploaded. I like to watch reality shows, and some fantasy... So I win no matter what is in the video. Tongue

What is reality, really? Perception... If we all had the same perception, it would not be perception, it would actually be reality, but, reality is not what we perceive, as individuals. That is only OUR reality, or perception of reality. What was the question again, My ADD is going full force now.. thanks!

I think, therefore I think I am.

Show me the miner you were promised - otherwise everything else is just speculation.

RWMAX: The only thing obvious here is what an AMT shill you are. I suspect you are just one of them posing as a customer. You signed up on here right after I did, just to fight me and try to calm everyone about AMT (just as you've continued to do so with every post). Not going to work. Show me a miner or proof of these 1.2TH units existing in REALITY, and I'll eat my words.

Speaking of which, where is this video we were promised? Let me guess, the production house is still working on editing it.  Roll Eyes

Nice to know their CSR hasn't a drop of personal information on the internet.
1493  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 23, 2014, 05:54:32 PM

1 post? here we go again. if you want your message to resonate with folks AMT do what you are supposed to!! I am 100% certain this is your post. Stop dicking people around and just give a LITTLE customer service. Jesus christ you guys just dont get it!! I want a response from you. I have fulfilled my end of the deal Jim so tell me what it's going to be.

You still hoping for a miner? At this point I'd hope to get a check in the mail. Take the money and run.

Even if they turn out legitimate, why would you want to support them anyways?

I know it sucks your $6000 was tied up for at least 3 months, but lesson learned?

Hi Curt,

first of all I would like to apologize on behalf of the entire AMT Team that we haven't replied to you yet.
My name is Alyssa and I am dealing with the payments and the accounting, but we are so extremely swamped and short staffed at the moment, that I will try and help out by catching up on the tons of emails in the sales inbox as well - as much as I can of course.
Your check has been received as you have been previously told. I am sending you confirmation for your payment - you can find it attached.
Regarding the status that the website is showing you - I will tell the IT guys to change it, but even if this doesn't happen in a timely fashion, disregard it because I have already added you to the list of orders and this is what counts the most.
I have amended you email address as well, so we don't run in any confusions in the future.

Also I would like to thank you for your patience, I can assure you that the entire AMT team has been mobilized in the manufacturing facilities, solving issues, running tests and trying everything we can to get the machines out the door.

All the best,
Alyssa Trusten

Oh ok! Hey guys, no need to worry anymore - Alyssa has assured us that the ENTIRE AMT team has been mobilized in the manufacturing facilities solving issues and running tests.

I am just not concerned at all anymore since I read this email.

(end sarcasm)

I have a better idea, supply the community with pictures instead of 'your word'. Pictures prove shit, your word means nothing at this point.
1494  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 23, 2014, 06:43:20 AM
great, another AMT lapdog.

Registered a whole 11 days ago. Listen to him! He knows.
He also has inside information about "AMT working for a client that is a bank". Wow, 11 days on the forums and he knows more than everyone, amazing.

...Yeah. I'm pretty sure he's just another AMT goon using a new handle to respond.

Ever since I've been "trolling AMT", this guy appeared out of nowhere and has been very defensive over AMT.
1495  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Official Thread: AMT on: February 23, 2014, 04:56:05 AM

Sirminesalot, its obvious that your being paid to do this. SO OBVIOUS.

But I don't think AMT cares about their reputation, they have the best chip on the market, they don't need to care at this point. And they certainly don't care about this forum or this thread. With all the crap here, any normal company would never respond to any of it, because it would be completely ridiculous. If they respond here for anything more than a single update it encourages users to contact AMT via forums instead of via normal business practices. I have had a good deal of success when I call during 5pm and 7pm est. I have spoken to jim several times (at least 6 or 7 times) and he usually returns my mails in a day or two.

From what I know thus far, they have a few large clients and are working for a bank which is involved in mining, but they want to focus more on consumers.

I don't blame them at all for not posting on this thread, because they are have to work around bullshit trolls like yourself that have not even purchased a miner. Its like walking into macy's and just trashing all of their products with out making a purchase. They also told you to go away.

Your posting personal information about their staff and your ridiculous to do so. Sirminesalot, your screwing all of us from getting updates.

No one cares about your opinions, no one cares about the AMT staff,  they just want their miners like I just want my miners.

You're really ruining our chance to have a normal thread and normal updates.

Do us all a favor and go away from this thread.

I wish I was being paid to comment on these bullshit business practices of AMT - I'd love the extra cash, but that isn't the case. The fact that you think I am is hilarious.

I'm stating the obvious bullshit going on in regards to updates and lack of information: and you're delusional with your head stuck up AMT's ass. That, or you are some lacky of AMT's. Who the fuck are you anyways? Just another newbie with no credibility. You're stating they got the best chip on the market and will deliver and have had numerous phone calls with Jim. Strange, he's taken all your calls but has been ignoring everyone else lately. I find that interesting, or complete bullshit.

This thread already went this direction long before I showed up. Don't blame AMT's amateur hour bullshit on me, they weren't going to update anyone regardless of my comments within this thread.

With that said, go fuck yourself.

ask yourself, why is AMT (and even Bitmine) not making an effort to counter the FUD?

Answer: they got a wholesale buyer that needs no further convincing.

If that's the case then we're all just chopped liver.

Exactly!  Why care about fussy retail customers when you already booked a massive contract?

Because you've already made an agreement with those "fussy retail customers", and have your end of the bargain to uphold. Either way, regardless of photos or controlling FUD - they've already missed their agreed upon deadlines, and anyone wanting a refund should therefore be entitled to one.

Still not buying it though. Doesn't make sense that a legitimate company would let their rep be tarnished this bad just because they secured some kind of wholesale deal.

We'll know in the next day or two what boards they are using. Since they shipped orders 400 to 500, I'm sure there's a few customers that will post here what they received.

Ya dude, they haven't shipped a DAMN thing. Yet another day with no pictures. NO PICTURES NO PICTURES NO VIDEOS, EVERY FUCKING SCAM I SEE RUN IS EXACTLY LIKE THIS FOR FUCKS SAKE. WHY THE FUCK WOULD THEY NOT POST A PICTURE OF THE UNITS THEY ARE SHIPPING?!?!?!? Please someone who loves to defend AMT give me a good reason why they can't take a picture of their units they are shipping. I DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT SOME CHIPS EITHER, THOSE AREN'T FUCKING UNITS.

Seriously, you can end the thread right here until they post a picture or video of all the units they are supposedly producing. Forget about every other detail in this thread, they are meaningless. Forget about Bulgaria, forget about anything. The one true thing that ALWAYS shows 100% guilt is the inability to take a fucking picture.

A new thread just needs to be opened about trying to track and prosecute these fucks.

No excuse for lack of pictures.

A> Pictures of cases with components installed (finished unit)
B> Pictures of the manufacturing line and/or parts for the miners (cases/PSUs/boards/chips)
C> Pictures of the boards with chips installed
D> Pictures of ANYTHING

Any one of the above things would alleviate all this FUD.

Even if they didn't want something leaked (new board design/whatever) it would be impossible since buyers will have the miners soon themselves supposedly, and can release all the photos they want.

It just DOESN'T make sense. The reason I asked for pictures of all the components weeks ago, is because it proves that they have the equipment already purchased and the capability to produce these miners. A table with 2 computer cases and a bunch of chips just doesn't cut it. That was the ONE AND ONLY photo of hardware for the 1.2TH units by the way.

Actually, it does make a huge difference in this case. The Bitmine Coincraft A1 is the chip that the AMT miners are based off of.

That being said, the chips allegedly already shipped. Technobit is selling a Coincraft based board right now. How many chips shipped, I do not know. I do know that Bitmine is being about as transparent and professional as AMT right now, with far less excuse.

Exactly, if they already have the chips in their possession (which they had stated with photos in this thread) and are producing their own boards (as Martin indicated) - then Bitmine's delay would have ZERO effect on their production schedule.

That is, unless they've used all of the chips to fulfill a much larger order that was placed and bump everyone to the back of the queue: and are now out of hardware to build the miners we are all waiting on. If this were the case, that would mean they've used all of our pre-order money as start up funds to produce miners for a large single client order, and deliberately lied to us about our orders.

This is all speculation. If only AMT spent 5 honest minutes on here updating everyone as to the details of what's going on. I guess that's just a pipe dream.

TL;DR;

Why all the effort to prove yourself correct?  Are you a customer?  If so then you should travel to PA.

I am a customer,  I am a bit disappointed that they did not deliver their miner on the 3rd week of Feb.  that they said they did.   I'm going to wait out until the 2nd week of March.

I'm concerned that they are late,  but also is Bitmine.ch.

Anyway I am hedging... selling my miner for 12 BTC (still no takers recently).  My order is #961.

I definitely am quite sure that if I get my miner in hand that I can fetch much more that 12 BTC even if it happened to be delivered by 2nd week of March.  That is my game plan.

Who gives a shit about Bitmine.ch? It has nothing to do with AMT. One manufacturer being late doesn't set the bar for every other business.

TLDR? Then fuck off and go start a new thread, trying to "sell your miners" that don't even exist as of yet. You're just trying to re-coup your funds and will probably say or do anything to reassure people of AMT so you can get your $ back.

It'd be in your best interest to start a new thread anyways, like anyone who reads this thread is going to want to pay a pre-orderer for their pre-order. When the shit hits the fan, no one will be accountable for the lost money.
