Hey, you guys.... keep up the withdraws from Bter...

They are limiting us to 10,000 XCR a day per account. It will take me weeks to get all my XCR out at this rate, but we are working on having Lin remove the limit.

We need to get Bter down below 30 Million, or 30% of XCR to enable DPOS.

You will need your XCR in your private wallet in order to vote for a Delegates in DPOS.  The votes are 1 vote per XCR, so 10,000 XCR gives you 10,000 votes.

Also, forming a delegate requires a XCR fee.  You will need your XCR for that as well.

Poloinex is open for all trading, deposits and withdraws if you want to keep your XCR on an exchange.  Polo is a good place to sell XCR right now, as there is 9 BTC of orders outstanding there to buy XCR.

Hello,
is anybody able to forge?

I´ve tried it for several weeks, but no blocks forged,.... I have +100.000 in my Wallet.

Unlike other POS coins, Cypti only needs 1000XCR to forge.  Having more XCR does not let you forge more often, like NXT.

The nodes forge randomly.  Look at your forging page.  DO you see blocks listed?  Those are the blocks you forged, with or without a reward.

In the past two weeks there has been very little XCR moving through the blockchain.  I have not forged a block for a reward for over a week as well. Poloniex keeps the XCR on their pool in a pool wallet, and you only trade tokens until you withdraw from the exchange.  Ditto for Bter and Cryptsy.  So, those transactions do not generate fees, as they are not forged in the blockchain.

Hang in there... Perhaps, as soon as today or tomorrow, Boris will be working with Bter to get them to update their wallet and then the withdraws of 65 million coins can start.  There will be a lot of fees earned for forging those blocks.

Once the amount of XCR at Bter is down to less than 25 million, we will be introducing 0.2 with DPOS.  That will be a radical change, and will enable DAPP and CBCs to be part of Crypti.

XCR will be breaking out of the "just another alt-coin" hole.

OK thanks.

At the forging panel it still schows me "No block generated" ;-/
-is there any chance to see that my wallet is really forging?

I still let it run an hope i earn a few coins if the big withdraw from the exchanges starts Wink

Check time on your node.
I see sometimes that some forgers has incorrect local time.
Better to sync from time servers.

On the FORGING page, you should see Forging Enabled in the upper right hand corner.  If not, you are not forging.

Also, on the Blockchain page, you should see your wallet address at the top block, as if it just forged that block.  All nodes thing they are forging the current block.  The network then randomly picks one of the nodes as the actual forger.

If you dont see the Forging enabled, then log out of the node... now you see the account log in page... click on the BACK button to go to the Forging log in... log in to forging and save to config... now you should see a text below the log in indcating that you are forging now.  Then go to the account page and log in there.

Did you log on separately to the forging page?  This is an additional login for just forging.  CLick on "save to Config".

Once you log into forging, you will be forging every time you start the node even if you dont log in to the account page. You should see a green FORGING ENABLED on the account tab if you are.  If not, go to the forging page and log in.

What just happened on Poloniex ?

Someone is buying.  BigTIme.

On Bter, you can only see the month old price..... you cant trade, deposit or withdraw.  Crypty has not update their wallet since Sept.  You can trade there, but not deposit or withdraw.

Only about 1.8 BTC worth was bought, so roughly 300K XCR, the liquidity is so low 2 BTC could quadruple the value of all our holdings.

the liquidity is so low because 65% of the XCR is still on Bter.  Counting the foundation wallet of 11 million XCR, and 4 million locked on Cryptsy, that leaves 20 million XCR for private wallets and Polo to share.  Very little is on Polo, maybe 4-6 million XCR.  So like you said, it does not take much to move the market to double the price or half the price.

Please UPDATE me:

Which exchanges have FUNCTIONAL XCR withdraws available?

Thanks,

I will buy some and withdraw them ASAP if any of them are working.

Poloniex is up and running for all transactions, deposit, withdraw, trade.

Would it make sense to gather and publicize the rankings of pre-DPOS Top Forgers to be used as a voting reference in case these accounts pop up as delegate contenders or would this be viewed as a voting bias?

I would say it is safe to assume that these accounts are to be trusted considering the persistence to stay updated and forge through all the troubles.

I might deserve a Why don't you do it yourself? here...  but trust me...  guys like karmacoma24 could come up with code for something like this faster than I wrote this post!!!   Grin

Here is the Delegate page from the node under testing.      You can see the uptime as the first % after the node address.

Grin

We have not logged UPTIME for the nodes.  We tried the Proof Of Time, and it was not scaleable for a one minute block time.  The forging now is random.  I have the blockchain up on one monitor all the time, and I can see that often one node will forge several blocks in a row.

The testnet CryptiLite version shows a percentage for uptime for the delegates on the node.

Also, the delegates can have a "Friendly Name" instead of just an account code.  You can upvote "SMARAGDA" and downvote "STARIK69".

BTW, Starik, I am not a coder, but I have been into computer since 1977.  Cut my teeth on IBM mainframes at the University Computer Lab, using a dumb terminal interfaced thru a channel to a four queue mainframe running at 128K with 1K RAM.  I did learn FORTRAN, but found construction better paying and the air was smoke free.  I do read the internal conversations here on testing and development, so I do know what is going on.

Does not matter which Delegate forged which block.  As Max explained... there are 101 blocks in a cycle....... the top 101 delegates each forge one block, then at the end of the cycle, the fees earned by all 101 forgings are combined and then divided between all 101 delegates.

I just showed to starik69 how it looks.
If delegate knows beforehand which block he has to forge there is no need for him to secure network between his blocks, or i am wrong? Roll Eyes

The delegate does not know which block he will forge.

Also, in order for delegate #45 to forge, he would have had to update his blockchain from forgings 1-44 in that cycle.  Otherwise, that delegate could cause a fork.  Having an updated blockchain, in every node and delegate,  IS securing the network.

Bter is down again. SSL certificate is expired.
They are up, but as you say, the SSL cert is expired. I clicked thru on the "add exception" and they came up. I hope you all take your XCR out of Bter as soon as possible.  Not only is Bter somewhat shaky lately, but you will need it for making delegates and voting for a delegate.

If you need to sell, Poloniex is still trading XCR for BTC.

Well, for me it's the same. Although they've been through a lot of unpleasant stuff lately, maybe they've just forgot to renew it on time. Anyway I wouldn't risk to log in until they renew it. It might be some kind of an attack.

I assume you propose it to everybody, but as for me, I'm only buying since the price started going down.

I checked.......Bter's SSL cert is from Geo Trust. and it expires Mar 19.... today.

They forgot to renew it, or did not pay attention to the 30 day, and the 10 day, and the next day warning email.

How is the exact time for a delegate to forge a block within 101 cycle is determined?  Huh
If not random then...  Roll Eyes

Imagine a box with 101 candies. You take them out one by one in random order. How is it determined? Huh Roll Eyes

It is not important how the network chooses a particular delegate.  It only matters that each delegate does forge one block.

As for the box of candles..... I would first chose the ones that still had birthday cake and frosting on them first, and then lick it off.   Grin Grin

write me a PM and we will chat on Skype, where I will remove all your concerns you have right now.
What stops you to make it public? Huh
Max would not do such a thing unless he had your permission.  The team had a 3 hour Skype conference with 5000bitcoins around Xmas time.  Do you see any of it posted here?
I think you do not understand. I want my questions to be answered in public and not hiding discussion in some private skype conference. I am really confused about the reasons why i am supposed to use PM and skype. Roll Eyes

Max wants to avoid a 3 page post in this forum, if possible.  We had 3 hours with 5000bitcoins.

If you want to post a Skype conversation for others, it would be permissible, PROVIDED it was posted in full, and not edited in any way, and Max gave his permission.

Some of at you have asked is still in the testing phase, and may be changed before release.

5000bitcoins has bought around 5 mil XCR as I remember. Were is he now?

I believe he is working with James on SuperUnity.

As I recall, he was REALLY REALLY insistant that Crypti join SuperNet. We could not figure out his motivation for being so pushy.  Then we found out he was working with James.

regarding how to haddle trolls, I have to say that Come-from-Beyond has a very good way to handle it (funny he was here minutes ago). "Thank you for your competent comments!" or some like that is his reply to the trolls. Wink

The problem of sockpuppet delegates can be solved with antisybil protection.
May be. Undecided
But i want to know are devs concerned about this?  Huh
Especially when Crypti fans are talking about creating 70 or even 101 voted delegates by one person... Roll Eyes

No one has expressed CONCERN over Crypti FANS being able to create 70 or 101 delegates.  Creating a delegate is no different than expressing a desire to run for political office...... you need votes.  Delegates dont vote.  Only the top voted 101 delegates split the forging fees from that last 101 block cycle.  Having 50 delegates, and only 5 or so in the top 101 is not a good investment.

Delegates, once formed, are permanent.  There is no refund if they go dark.  You can sell your delegate privately to another user, but you cant change the passphrase.  Would you buy a delegate that had a passphrase known to another user?

The consensus is that the community, knowing that one user has formed 50 delegates, will not vote for those delegates. There was even an excellent suggestion from Eric that we have a "minus" vote available for each node.  The community could get together and vote a delegate out of the 101 positions.

Forming a Delegate is not cheap....... we are considering 25000XCR right now.  That would be 2.5 million XCR to form 101 delegates.  I only know of two people that have that much XCR, but after buying those delegates, their supply of XCR that is available for voting in a node would be greatly diminished.

Also, remember that there is not any forging unless XCR is traded.  Hording great amounts of XCR in a node to have a bigger vote only serves to lessen the amount for trading, which lowers the forging fees further.

I dont have any plans to form more than 1 delegate.  Max, well, he is a NXT fan.  Perhaps he will enlighten us as to his plans.
