what would be the opening market cap of Crypti?
I think its market cap will be comparable to NEM in short term. Now NEM on the AE is kind overpriced. My guess is that both cxx and NEM will be under 8000 btc in market cap for a while. I dont know why you compare CXX with NEM? NEM has a price now of 2BTC and a market cap of 1900BTC. The trading volume is only 6 BTC. Thats THREE WHOLE COINS!!!! Why this coin? An 8000BTC market cap would put CXX at the level of Vericoin. CXX has an investment of 750BTC, so any market cap above that is profit for the investors.

what would be the opening market cap of Crypti?
I can tell you with 90% certainty what will transpire on Aug 10 or 11th. 1) there will be only one exchange with CXX coins: BTER. 2) Not every investor will get coins at the same time, and many will be offline or asleep when the wallets are filled. There will be a lot of complaining about the launch, likely due to a DDOS attack on Bter's site, slow wallet syncing, and bad timing for parts of the planet. 3) The cost per coin for investors in the presale is around 925 satoshi per CXX. 4) The coins will be offered for sale from 5000 sats to 1 BTC per CXX. 5) the buyers will post offers from 100 sats to 10,000 sats. 6) the market will move rapidly up and down for the first 24 hours, then settle in a tighter trading range. 7) In the next few days, CXX will either move slowly up or down, depending on how the launch went, the acceptance of CXX within the altcoin community, enthusiasm generated outside this blog thru advertising on the web, and the influence of outside world events that the devs have no control over.

Hey Grexx:
Another suggestion for your coin, in addition to the refundable transaction suggestion i made last week:
Add a chat feature to the wallet. Releasing the wallet early, and having a chat feature will increase community communication and thus the value of the coin, because without a community, this coin will be another MaxCoin. (all hat and no horse)
Thanks for the suggestions, keep them coming. We will consider adding a chat inside the web-wallet. Taking a look at the suggestions for the ticker, most look to much like other coins, and the "CRP" suggestion will be nicknamed the CRAP coin. Hardly a selling point. Thinking out of the box is called for here. You need something that exudes cryptography, and is far far unique: I suggest "CXX" for the ticker.

Will a new version of the wallet be needed? I sent 900,000 JPC from mintpal to my wallet 2.5 hours ago has not reached my wallet yet. At mintpal withdrawals page in my account says confirmed (should be saying successfull by now)?? what is happening???
I contacted them, and they told me they put offline their wallet until the fork is solved. (which I didn't know of, and made a deposit) check the official blockchain.... if it shows up there, it will show up in their wallet when the syncing is complete

That is entirely possible...perhaps even likely... accordingly there are good arguments for and against. Focusing for the moment on arguments in favour, the photonic aspect appeals to me having been fascinated by photons and their relationship with matter for some time. It is this relationship between matter and light (analogously between the substance of matter (Fiat currencies) and the inchoate nature of light (Cryptocurrencies) that interests me. One may convert the one into the other by means of a relationship not entirely dissimilar to Einsteins wonderfully simplifying equation...E=MC2. It is this relationship between thing on the one hand (Fiat currency) and 'no thing' on the other (Cryptocurrency), matter and light, that bears comparison arising from their interchangeability. Cryptocurrencies create real substance, real value and remarkable utility even though they arise from the 'nothingness' of mathematical abstraction (ex nihilo totem fit - from nothing everything comes). Add the fact that the exceptional ideas underpinning Crypti orbit the seismically important idea of a currency that incentivises the movement and flow of the currency (just as photons have to keep trucking or end up with zero mass) and it may be that the word is a candidate alternative for micro-crypti. But your points are well made and better candidate names may be only moments away.
Edit: Samsmith16 pointed out the photonic resemblance, not I.
Quantum:
At the risk of thread drift, I must point out that you are 40 IQ points above most of the bloggers here.
Also, there was nothing wonderful about Einsteins equation E=MC2. The formula for computing the energy of a moving object was already old in the time of Caesar. Energy equals mass times the square of the velocity E=MV2.
All Einstein did was expand the velocity in the formula to the speed of light, and then propose, not prove, that such a mass then becomes pure energy.

Crypton has a nice ring to it, and is short and easy to pronounce. We can set up a poll on another thread, so any ideas would be welcome.
I also like this. But in bitcoin, it is easy to distinguish smaller units because of "micro" or simply "bit". Crypton doesn't have that same feature. I agree. However, if Crypti is set (as it would appear) to become a major global currency, a counterargument is that people without a science background (for whom microfarads might as well be something you heat up your dinner with) may more rapidly comprehend precisely what a Crypton is. Without more, a distinguishing feature may have greater traction in the long term. Edit: In fact, we do heat up our dinners with microfarads when we use microwave ovens, as they contain enormous capacitors and the unit for capacitance is the Farad. Oops Although catchy, Crypton will be confused with another cryptocoin, past, present or future. You also leave your self open for a copycat to use that name.

Regarding extra cap BTC invested, I think we have these possible outcomes:
1) Developers agree to accept the invested BTC and max cap is raised a little bit. This isn't too good because shows lack of transparency of commitment. But extra btc investors would be happy and they could be useful to us 2) Developers don't accept the extra btc and not enough is refunded. Sucks to the people who invested and are forced to be out, but at least commitment is kept 3) Developers don't accept the extra btc and enough is refunded for the extra btc people join. That's good and a win/win situation but seems hardly someone would sell their stake now at 1:1 4) Developers sell their own stake to make it up for these extra btc. This would be the best possibility because it shows commitment, transparency and also that developers is altruist and cares about investors. Nobody gets dilluted and developers just lose a little bit of money, but still will hold a lot of it. Nobody loses and developers would win a lot of reputation in exchange of a few btc.
#4 was exactly what I suggested on the previous page. If you are going to rephrase my idea, at least give me credit. diba how 13 years old are you? im interested on improving this cryptocurrency and not claiming ideas and work on a discussion forum. if you think someone listened to your idea and found it good be glad instead of irritated then i have more to do than going around crediting everything i read, even something small and meaningless i don't see satoshi running around screaming "you're using btc give me credit" grow up small and meaningless??? the manner in which the devs handle this issue effects every person that has invested in Cryptsi. It also will reveal how the devs will handle problems sure to arise in the future. Will the devs decision go against innocent investors, all investors, or themselves?

Do we know how many coins will be distributed for a btc to the first day buyers?
About 113,000 without taking bonuses into account. We could be a little more precise and figure: First 2 days with 30% bonus, 400 BTC invested............. 400X1.3= 512 parts Second official day with 29% bonus, 200 BTC................ 200X1.29= 258 parts Third official day with 28% bonus, 150 BTC.................. 150X1.28= 192 parts total BTC, 750. Total parts .................................................... 962 parts Each part then is worth 88357 coins. Multiply parts by bonus to get: Share with 30% bonus.......... 114864 coins Share with 29% bonus.......... 113981 coins Share with 28% bonus.......... 113097 coins math check: 400 shares with 114864 coins each........... ~45.9million 200 shares with 113981 coins each.......... ~22.4million 150 shares with 113097 coins each.......... ~16.9million total.....................................................~85 million I calculated different figures assuming as follows: 100,000,000 coins / 750 BTC cap = 133,333 crypti per BTC invested in the presale. If the investment was made on day 1 (30% bonus), in that event 30% of 133,333 = 40,000 Crypti = 173,333 in total If this is right and each Crypti has a notional market opening value of 0.0000075 BTC, then 173,333 x 0.0000075 = 1.299975 BTC or 1.3BTC Having regard to the obvious demand for Crypti, price rises may involve orders of magnitude in the first few hours of trading. If this is correct, here are some figures based on a presale investment of 1 BTC on day 1 of the presale: 0.0000075 BTC per Crypti = 1.3 BTC (based on US$638 per BTC = $829.40) 0.000075 BTC per Crypti = 13 BTC " $8,294.00 0.00075 BTC per Crypti = 130 BTC " $82,940.00 0.0075 BTC per Crypti = 1300 BTC " $829,400.00 0.075 BTC per Crypti = 13000 BTC " $8,294,000.00 Market cap of BTC is plainly not going to be exceeded by a new coin, but between one and three orders of magnitude increase in value are theoretically possible out of the starting gate and 4 or 5 orders of magnitude are possible in a year or so. By way of disclaimer, I have invested all I have in the presale and accordingly I am in no position to be objective but I thought it would be fun to share these figures in the hope (speculation aside) that at least the calculations are correct (outwith the fact that the suppositions on which increases in value are posited may be entirely incorrect) your figures are wrong, because the whole 100 million coins are not for sale. Just 85 million. Also, the bonus has to be figured in differently than you did. If you multiply all your coins per share by the number of shares you will come out with 130 million coins. You will see that my numbers are going to be within 1% of the actual disbursement, UNLESS the devs change the rules again. The IPO cost to investors of each CRYPTSI will be around 950-1000 satoshi.
