For all you believing in the 'double top there is only a way down scenario'. This stock picture of apple says it all! Are you actually trying to compare an altcoin to a behemoth like Apple that actually makes products that work and are used by millions of people everyday? Darkcoin is just another cryptocurrency that could fade away tomorrow and the world would never know or care. I was a big supporter of Darkcoin until it turned into a cult like following. People need to keep their expectations realistic. Darkcoin peaked and is unlikely to hit the level it was at anytime soon. Also, to those that keep talking "hold for long term", how long are you going to hold? And regarding the common saying used in this thread "shaking out the weak hands", the weak hands have been getting shaken out for months. What is weak about selling for a profit and using that btc to make more profit on other coins. It's not weak it's smart. There is a lot of competition these days. Darkcoins value has always been based off of it anonymity feature and that has not been delivered. You can only push things back for so long before people start doubting everything and move on. On top of that there are new coins using the cryptonote protocol that offers anonymity without the need for a complicated masternode network. Once the GUI is out for those coins and they have addressed bloating on the blockchain, all of the major arguments against cryptonote coins will be gone. I dumped all the DRK I had above .002 and plan on buying back at the bottom which isn't even close yet. But I guess I'm those weak hands getting shaken out. I would rather be weak and rich in BTC than a bagholder.

It is syncing, but no coins are there!
I am waiting from coins from POOL AND POLONIEX.
Got coins from POOL just came through took about 40 mins. POLONIEX was initiated 4 hours ago and waiting still, lodged a form with them will report back here if I hear anything back So are other people. I'm starting to think that Poloniex was on the wrong fork when some of us withdrew coins. They finally made it to my wallet.

I found block at Height 17717

I still want to know what is with this new thread? END OF STORY.
You want people to support your coin then you start communicating.
This coin is for all intents and purposes already dead. One pool has all the hashrate, dev out to lunch for now, What's the point?
Well I'm out. This coin looks done.

Absolutely abysmal performance on the exchanges, worst launch in months.
I agree. These guys are not ready for prime time. Great technology, poor delivery. Lets help them out. That goes for all the Cryptonote coins.

I can verify found block and successful payout from http://mnt.ext-pool.net/ Send some hashrate their way to help even out the network.
|
|
|
I tried to mine on your pool but Apparently I have to register an alias? Well, I did that but never received the email I was supposed to. So I am unable to mine on your pool. And yes I checked the spam filter. Help me mine on your pool and I will. I sent some hash to http://mnt.ext-pool.net/ and it looks like they have found block while I've been mining. Haven't verified payout yet. I am also going to keep some hash pointed at http://mcn.extremepool.org If people using multiple instances/computers to mine would divide those between the various pools or solo mine, that would really help things out. But http://mcn.extremepool.org is a great pool and people should continue to use it. Just spread the hash around if you can.
|
|
|
you could phrase that a little better presidentcoin. 1. http://mcn.extremepool.org is currently the #1 pool for mining Mountcoin. 2. There is nothing wrong with this pool, payouts work and all aspects of this pool are functioning properly. 3. Due to the fact that this pool works so good, it has acquired the majority of the network hash rate. 4. This creates an issue for the long term viability of the coin itself. 5. It is suggested, by me (the operator of http://www.extremepool.org), and presidentcoin, the DEV of Mountcoin, that miners spread the hash rate around to make this coin more viable. 6. You do not have to mine on a pool, in fact it would be better if there was many solo miners out there, but if you must mine at a pool, spread the hash. 7. http://mcn.extremepool.org has posted on its site a list of other pools where you can spread your hash too. 8. http://mcn.extremepool.org in no way is trying to control the network, but it is still better for the coin to spread the hash. Thank you! You are absolutely correct. You are going above and beyond what most pool operators would do.

what about an exchange for this coin??
would be nice
I think it would be more important to get the hashrate spread around. One pool is getting 99.9% of the blocks. I pulled my miners off and will give it a try solo mining for a day or two. If I don't find any blocks then I'll just quit mining this coin. As it is right now it has no future when all the hashrate is centralized on one pool. No offense to the pool operator as it's not under their control. But it would be a good idea for people to either switch to the other pool or start solo mining. Update: Solo mining might be pointless. I just found a block but it was orphaned. I also looked at the other pool and all their finding is orphans. As long as the one pool has all the hash nobody else will be able to find any blocks that are not orphaned. This coin is not healthy this way. I will just stop mining. yeah I operate the pool that you are referring too. all I can do is raise the fee's in an attempt to turn miners away. if this keeps up that's what I will do. What are the list of other pools so that I can put a link to them on my site? http://mnt.extremehash.com/http://new.hashharder.com/cryptonote/mountcoin http://mnt.ext-pool.net/ http://mnt.ext-pool.net/I have updated my pool to suggest we miners spread the hash, if they do or not is up to them. I will be raising the fee to 5% tomorrow if they don't. also mnt.ext-pool.net seems to be down. I hope you didn't take my post the wrong way. It's not your fault that everyone chose to mine on your pool. The fact that you are taking steps to try and spread the hashrate around is commendable.

Amazon EC2 bills are due. That could be the cause of the dumps. People needing to pay for their cloud instances. Just a possibility.
