After installing .29 and doing salvagewallet all my wallet addresses are gone. My wallet shows only one address for receiving DRK. On transactions it shows only the address in brackets but no names anymore. Can I still receive DRK on these addresses or do I have to use new addresses at pools, exchanges etc.?
I had 63 transactions of denomination and payments to myself with a total of 0.066 DRK for anonymizing 17 DRK! I have disabled DS for now.
Why are you guys using salvagewallet ? Leave denomination process alone after starting and be more patiant before doing something bad and than blaming RC4 is not working. I had no problems on testnet.This isn't testnet. |

I hope everyone understands RC4 HAS NOT LAUNCHED YET... its out in spork mode. It is meant to be this way. Roll out RC4 to the adventurour to play with and report bugs "large scale" - which are just little pestering things and nothing major.
No one need to update unless they dont want to. Except pools if they dont want orphaned blocks when the fork is set.
So RC4 beta-testing now? Release Candidates are betas by definition... ^^ This 100%. Wait until v1.0 before being too critical.The problem is that you can't keep moving the goal posts. RC4 was supposed to be a big deal. It wasn't and now people are talking about v1.0 instead. That's not going to fly. It's been next week for several months now. Portfolio upgrade to version 0.10.12.28, but I took some constant -0.001 DARK..I can not understand why! As I can understand, these coins are made only in a transaction, but apparently not. If you leave your wallet tomorrow I'll take all the coins! Anyway.

goodmorning shojayxt good to see you a still interested in us poor drk folks... Just following along. I made made a moderate investment at the last low between .0073 and .0075. I anticipated a good bounce on the release of RC4 like many others. Unfortunately, due to a variety of circumstances, that obviously didn't happen. The good thing for me is that I sold at .009 and made a profit at least. I'll be keeping an eye on DRK because it has the potential for a quick turnaround. Gotta know when to get back in so I'll be following this thread closely. Don't worry, I'll be nice. |

whats going on with the price..it keeps declining on and on...and some dumbass decided to unload 2k of dark on mintpal in such a rediculous price....fuck this piece of shit.....after the completation of rc4 nothing changed...if the price reach again 0.01 im going to unload 20k of dark and panic crash the price further...so fucking dissapointed it looks like whales are not interested by coin anymore...and no trust for the coin even though is the first one truely ANONYMOUS COIN out there....nothing changed
Probably because anonymity is a detriment going forward if you care about broad appeal and price. If you don't care about commercial value, then sure, its great. The echo chamber here won't tolerate divergent views though. My thoughts echo yours regarding widespread commercial adoption of an anonymous cryptocurrency. |

I believe he got everything back back-up you I hope so, all the more reason to backup now to paper, and so should everyone else. Plus, as we've seen it isn't enough to have backups, you need to verify them each time too if possible - I know it's a pain in the arse but it saves grief down the road. Nobody takes backups seriously until it's too late and they're screwed. Camo got his 3.5kDRK back thanks to Prop BUT he sent out 7+k to MP and it hung (did that get resolved?) Back-ups saved my wallet this past eve back-up your w*.dat's before you ever update folks Why would a large holder that is in DRK for the long haul be sending 7+k of DRK to an exchange in the first place? Why are they selling that many DRK? RC4 was just released. I thought this was what people were waiting for. Seems rather odd. |

Glad that the launch was not hyped. I'm getting really tired of the traders and their expectations. The price will go up with organic growth and real world use. If you want a pump and dump, there are better options. I even doubt the price will go up significantly in the near term. There will be bugs, because that's software development. In spite of that, I think Darkcoin has a lot going for it. What encourages me is Evan's dedication and commitment to getting it done.

not necessarily that RC4 will have an impact on the price short term, in fact a slight drop wont be surprising, I know that most people wont agree (I hope I am wrong)....before you tell me "but the price skyrocketed when RC3 was released" yes true, the price skyrocketed but not because of RC3 but because of a whale investing a shit load of BTC in DRK.... The price doesn't matter in the short term. What matters that is there are no critical bugs in RC4 and that users can finally send coins anonymously. Adoption and actual use of the coin begins at this point. As long as update goes smooth , price change will happen accordingly and no need to worry about that. RC4, means it is not deemed 100% ready for mass adoption. Final release, that is when things start to rock. The price should go up 25%-100% on RC4. 200%-1,000% on Final release with Kristov review. I've hedged a few bets and while I was on the sidelines, I'm now invested thanks to the noobs who are selling so cheaply. Wow! Welcome back. Should be interesting. Don't worry. Just passing through. You did the right thing, taking into account that private gpu miners have been mining the shit out of this coin, while the rest wasted resources with cpu mining, and at any moment those big holders could have dumped. It's like the coin having a premine. You can't be sure at any moment. You entirely depend on their will. Price depends on them as well.
However, this coin has a good concept and could have been a good coin. But, greed has turned it into something useless. I still suggest that it should be relaunched. Fair launch this time.
You do realize that there is a public GPU miner available right? And the known private miner is Wolf's, which is topping the performance of the public one by some 10% or so, so definitely not the 'premine' proportions that you're claiming. Big & early holders did get a lot of coins, but have thrown some hefty computing power to mine them before a GPU miner was available, which is perfectly fair. So in short: a largely new codebase, a lot of completely new features, lot's of testing time, timely pre-ann, timely launch ann, emission rate ~ 50% mined in 10 years. Yep, this is a goner, let's relaunch ASAP. (sarcasm alert)~ Myagui Thing is, it's suspected that a Private GPU miner was available at launch, which was the reason why so many people using CPU's were unable to mine any coins with such a high difficulty.
