1701  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Any PC Wallets to store many coins and exchange them? on: November 13, 2022, 10:49:59 PM
2. How about using a hardware wallet and a decentralized exchange?

Can you suggest some examples for decentralized exchanges?

1inch
UniSwap
PancakeSwap
SushiSwap
Balancer
Bancor
Curve
THORSwap

To name just a few. It depends which tokens or coins you want to trade.
1702  Economy / Economics / Re: 2022 has been one of the most significant eventful years of crypto history. on: November 13, 2022, 10:14:05 PM
It has been a wild ride, but the year is almost at its close. The market has shed billions in valuation and it's highly unlikely that things will go back to their 2021 highs anytime soon. Let's just hope 2022 goes down as the worst year for crypto for many years to come. And hopefully, we can all look back on 2022 as the year that forced positive change to occur, regardless of how scary the headlines were at the time. Oh, and if you're planning on contributing to the next wave of negative news: please don't! Smiley

All joking aside, it's nice to see a fairly accurate recap of the biggest news of the year in the space.
1703  Economy / Exchanges / [WARNING] - Get your money off Crypto.com IMMEDIATELY! on: November 13, 2022, 09:15:43 PM
I don't know if it's just FUD or fake news (I hope it is), but a few Twitter users have been warning that something bad could happen soon with the Crypto.com exchange.

1704  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions, predictions, predictions... on: November 13, 2022, 08:12:49 PM
Bitcoin has had a hard year, but this is still a pretty big blow to the entire ecosystem, so if you're looking to get into crypto right now, you might want to wait a bit. Market cycles are just as much of an important part of the crypto game as the assets themselves, and things will likely rebound eventually. I know it's not easy to wait when all you want is that sweet sweet Bitcoin in your wallet – but patience, my friends. Patience.
1705  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 13, 2022, 07:48:30 PM
<...>just be sure that you have spare funding to do it for a while (1 year or more)

You think it will last that long?
Damn it, SBF... Damn!
1706  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's a Great Chance to Buy Bitcoin before 25 December Bitcoin High Jump ^ on: November 13, 2022, 07:34:44 PM
Each aspect of the market is affected. From new investors to daily traders and big whales, we're all seeing that effects of this crisis. We can only pray for them who really lost in this situation, though I'm convinced that it's just a matter of time until it will come back.

To be very clear, I really don't know what the future holds for this market. We're all being shaken like a bunch of ragdolls right now, and it's definitely not pleasant. Hopefully, we'll see new investors come in at lower prices, with even more money to put into the currency. With that being said, if you are looking to buy in at or around current prices, there's nothing I can tell you other than "your call." Everything is so volatile right now that predicting the next few weeks feels impossible, let alone the next month. Roll with the punches and play by your own rules until this madness has settled down a little bit.
1707  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bearish fud main account Bitcoin on Twitter on: November 12, 2022, 09:46:08 PM
Is there even such a thing as an official Bitcoin twitter account? I don't know who is behind that account, but as hatshepsut93 said, Bitcoin is an open source project that belongs to everyone and no one owns the Bitcoin.

There isn't even an official Bitcoin website:

Bitcoin.org is not Bitcoin's official website. Just like nobody owns the email technology, nobody owns the Bitcoin network. As such, nobody can speak with authority in the name of Bitcoin.
1708  Other / Meta / Re: Not Your Keys Not your Coins Banner Needed Everywhere? on: November 12, 2022, 09:26:21 PM
The saying sounds simple enough, but its true meaning is often overlooked by newcomers. Many people fail to appreciate the importance of this statement and the phrase will ring hollow, which is unfortunate.

I agree, of course, that it is good to inform young members about all the risks of keeping coins on centralized exchanges and other services, but it is even more important that they understand all the risks associated with holding their coins. What good is it if they have their keys but are unaware of the importance of keeping them safe? We have had numerous examples of naive and inexperienced users entering private keys on various sites and forms, only to lose their coins to scammers. The point is, no matter how hard we try, some members are impossible to save if they don't make the effort to learn about all possible threats on their own.
1709  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WBTC vs BTC on: November 12, 2022, 08:24:13 PM
If you're a casual trader, WBTC has some advantages, especially when using DEXs and DeFi stuff, but if you're someone who wants to hold for the long term, it's definitely inferior to investing in the real bitcoin.  I think the same thing applies to stablecoins, although they have their purpose sometimes, it's always good to remember what happened recently with Terra Luna and their TerraUSD. They were one of the largest stablecoin issuer and one day they just disappeared with everyone's money.

When you think about it in long term, do not think about it just 3 years, think about it in 30 years, does that still look small to you? In crypto I always think about it in 30 year terms, for all of my investments and if it doesn't look good after 30 years in my head, then I stop using it completely.
30 years in the future? That doesn't make a lot of sense to me, i can't even tell if a Dollar Or EUR exist in 30 years. And Bitcoin is under 14 years old, so there's no way to see how any crypto is doing even in 10 years. It could be totally whole new game with new kind of "crypto".

You're right, it doesn't really make sense to use time frames of 30 years or more. I don't look at my crypto investments for such a long period. Any investments (like everything else in our lives), can go up or down, same with trading and investing in cryptocurrency, but I don't want to be holding coins for years and years. The more volatile your investment is, the shorter the period of time you are going to want to invest. When I think about long term, I consider other investments, like real estate or gold.
1711  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crypto exchange wars going on... FTX vs Binance on: November 12, 2022, 06:15:12 PM
I just read something interesting about the relationship between Binance and FTX. I didn't know that the feud began way back in 2019.

https://twitter.com/cz_binance/status/1173418810918916096

Apparently, that crash was caused by Alameda Research triggering stops on Binance's brand-new futures exchange.

Quote
Bitcoin Manipulation Abatement LLC has filed a $150 million lawsuit against crypto derivatives exchanges FTX and trading firm Alameda Research LLC—which shares its CEO with FTX. The lawsuit, filed Sunday and amended Monday, alleges that the CEO and multiple employees twice unsuccessfully tried to manipulate Bitcoin prices on cryptocurrency exchange Binance.

This was the lawsuit:

It appears that SBF has been a bad player in the crypto industry from the very beginning.
1712  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bet999.io - The global leader in crypto gambling! on: November 12, 2022, 04:26:33 PM
You are welcome to the world wide Bitcoin discussion forum. When I visited the site, I really like the features of the site, I will also advise you to buy a copper member and create a good looking ANN thread like the site here. And also meet a manager for more advertisement campaign where your site will cause more traffic and population custom. You casino site is nice.

I have also visited the site and it is true that the display and some of the games presented are also quite varied, I have created an account there, hopefully their team can pay for promotions and advertisements that will make this gambling site much more developed in the future..

I don't think they are that serious about promoting their casino here, its been two days there are already a lot of questions but OP or the representative is nowhere to be found, if they are serious they will log in hours after they posted their announcement here, they will be very active in shilling their casino and will to prove that they deserve their claim that they are a global leader although I doubt if they can prove that they are a global leader in Crypto gambling.

It seems that they are relatively new to the casino business. According to their Twitter feed, the beta version of their casino platform began only in September. That's not enough time to build a solid reputation. However, they'll need to do more to stand out from their competitors, who are also looking to stake a claim in the evolutionary world of crypto gambling.

@Bet999.io, you'll need to offer something unique or special in order to attract players who are used to having many options available.
1713  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FTX Scam : Unable to withdraw on: November 10, 2022, 06:34:54 PM
<...>
thought we are not going back to $17K. but here we are. nice plan CZ.

To be honest, I don't think that CZ had planned for this to happen, or that he is the cause of the problem.
It is true that many things may never be known by the public, but according to the available information, this had to happen sooner or later. I hope that this will be a good lesson for everyone involved in centralized services and that one should not gamble with other people's money.
1714  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC wallet disadvantages on: November 10, 2022, 06:22:37 PM

But, besides keeping your Bitcoins safe in a hardware or software wallet, you must keep your wallet's backup key and password at a secure place. The backup key is the most important part of your wallet, it can be used to restore your wallet when something goes wrong and if you lose your wallet. You must keep this backup key in a secure place like a safe so that no one can access it except you.

I don't know about this backup key. Is it an option they add in creating your wallet in a software wallet ..
I think I skipped or missed to add up a back up key to wallet

Then I suggest you create a new wallet, save the backup seed and simply move all your funds out of your old wallet and into the new one. This will prevent loss of funds and you can always restore your wallet later if you need to. It's a good practice to backup your wallet seed every time you make a new wallet.

Congrats to those who bought the dip and managed to get some under $15k coins! Looks like the sale is already over!  Cool
1716  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Parents And Their Children In Gambling.. on: November 09, 2022, 06:54:07 PM
I very much respect the decision of some parents to give their children a smartphone, it is something that they can be very bold with certain tools, but I am also part of the fact that a child or adolescent invents many things and it is not the idea that they can do something that causes emotion, and as I have said before in other posts, it is not so much the danger that he enters a casino and plays, but that the child falls into chats with people who are very ill-intentioned, with pedophiles, with many people who make them scare a lot, even persecute them, for me that is much more dangerous, of course both casinos and prohibited sites are something that a child can easily enter, that is where one of the parents should be supervising them.

Good point. What happens is that with the passage of time, we have reached a point where we have to talk about excessive use of the device both from a behavioral and medical point of view, because we realize that when it comes to using these tools some children stop doing other things like socializing with friends or family members, reading a book and even studying, and can negatively impact children’s social lives and academic performance. As a parent, I think this is something very important, so once again I invite parents to talk to their children, to be aware of social networks, because on these platforms there are many people with evil intentions, there are things like cyberbullying and other kinds of ill-treatment that can have a very negative impact on children’s lives.

But we're going too off-topic here, so I'll stop now.  Wink
1717  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC wallet disadvantages on: November 09, 2022, 06:26:17 PM
If human forgets, it's human's fault and if wallets were to give such option, it would no longer be non-custodial wallet, basically against Bitcoin's ethios.

That's right! While it's true that hardware wallets are the most secure way to store your cryptocurrency, they aren't without their drawbacks. It's certainly possible to make a mistake when using a hardware wallet, and remember, there is no customer service to call if you forget an important step or misplace a critical piece of information.

With that in mind, it's clearly important that you understand how to use a hardware wallet properly. At the end of the day, your money is on the line and you owe it to yourself to do things the right way.
1718  Economy / Gambling / Re: How To Access gambling site without VPN on: November 09, 2022, 04:44:27 PM
When you are in a VPN, do you change the public IP then? When it's a VPN, the most important thing to change is the network mask, right? causing a proxy to be produced and that leaves everything unprotected, which means that a VPN that only changes Proxy is not a VPN, for me a VPN is the only one that can change everything, from the Public IP to searching for the location and leaving the country to which one is accessing from there, and I think that from google it can be verified, right?

Yes. A VPN, or virtual private network, is a service that allows you to switch to a different public IP address and to connect to the Internet through a remote server. This means that your online activities are secure and private because they're encrypted and hidden behind the VPN server.

In the same way, a VPN is a risk to be able to enter a site that is all prohibited, perhaps the alarms go off if the site determines that there is a use of the VPN.

That's correct, but it depends on the service you want to use. Some allow VPN access, while others do not. If you want to use a VPN for Netflix or Hulu, for example, you need to choose the right one.

1720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CZ dumping FTT on: November 08, 2022, 09:04:03 PM
Is this the result of a long-planned plan? This is the result of weighing the pros and cons. CZ has a limited pattern, but there are not many people who have reached this level who are not ruthless and full of blood. The market is like this, A and B It is C who is injured in the fight, and C is mostly retail investors in most cases.

Things have been hectic, withdrawals rejected and huge panic in the market. Next bail-out by binance and now they are going to aquire the whole FTX. I didn't see this coming, although it was probably the whole plan from the start.
https://twitter.com/cz_binance/status/1590013613586411520

I'm not sure if this was planned from the beginning, but we may never know.

Here's a nice summary of how it all went wrong for SBF and FTX:
https://twitter.com/milesdeutscher/status/1589631447517655040

By the way, I don't think it's all over yet.
