261  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's stance on Bitcoin is changing on: February 25, 2024, 12:00:53 PM
~
I am not surprised really because I have always expected it, that the opinions of some top people in government and other powerful individuals will change with time. I am more concerned about their followers, the people who consider them as mentors and the model they look up to, I am concerned for the ones who have followed so blindly the opinions of these people on bitcoins before, and because of that did not invest in bitcoins and lost the opportunity of investing early.

As an educated individual, it should be a personal responsibility to not be misled by even people you consider your mentors, always very any information you get before you accept it.
262  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is sharing insights the key to better trading? on: February 24, 2024, 07:14:48 PM
Lately, I've been seeing the importance of community and shared knowledge around trading come up a lot. Sometimes the best insights come from discussing charts, setups, and market sentiment with other traders. Since I'm posting this, I'm sure you guys will have some tips to share that I can use to trade more wisely.
There's a lot of advantage being a member of the community that's half people would discuss trading options, strategy and tips. It can help but it can also be confusing because of the many opinions that you can get from people when you ask a simple question or ask people to share their approach.

Having a few people who you exchange insight is necessary, It could be a mentor or a close friend even family who you are sure of their trading prowess. These people can help keep you going in times when you feel like quitting trading, or help point out mistakes and flaws in your strategy.
263  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Planning to invest in Bitcoin to perform Hajj. on: February 24, 2024, 06:58:53 PM
And I would like to know your opinion whether this plan will be successful in the long term and aims to provide additional funds to carry out the long-desired Hajj.
When you make plans with a goal, you become very determined and disciplined along the line to make sure that you meet the goal. When plans are made without any solid goal to meet, along the way you could get distracted and then fall into the pressure of failing to follow through the plan that you made.

Because you have a goal for the Bitcoin that you're investing in currently, I am positive that you will be able to meet your goal and target and even stay disciplined.

As a bonus point for this target that you set for yourself, after you have successfully been able to send your mom to hajj, the character and discipline of investing with a goal would have already been developed, and that's an extra plus to carrying on through life.
264  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Please stop blaming "the government" for lack of Bitcoin mass payment adoption on: February 24, 2024, 06:52:00 PM
The government is not the main reason, but we cannot deny the fact that they have in some way contributed to it. If the government of many countries are fully in support of it and have in some way promoted the use of bitcoins, bitcoins will be more in use for payments that it is used currently.

And it should go without saying that transactions would need to cost far less than today's transactions in order to replace the status-quo: people don't make a major change to their long-held behavior unless there is a significant incentive to do so.
The hardest set of people to convince to change their long-held behavior are the old and advanced. They will not really see any reason to change unless the system they are used to fails them or the new one like bitcoin offers a better incentive like you have said.
265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lot of gambling sites are scams ! on: February 24, 2024, 06:22:57 PM
@OP you have this opinion on gambling sites because you have been unlucky with the ones you have come across.
Scams are involved when there is money. We may not be able to predict how our faith will manifest itself in our lives,
but I believe that you should do some research and read customer reviews before deciding to play at any online or local casino.
This will help you identify trustworthy, well-established platforms that are overseen and licensed by authorities in your community.
If you still have doubts after your research, this forum is a place for you that can entertain such questions. There are many experienced gamblers here who can be able to help you with extra and more deeper research on the reputation of a gambling site.
266  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Coping with expectations on: February 23, 2024, 11:32:23 AM
How then do I mange the expectation of people on me such that i don't get into depression when I'm  unable to meet up with it.?
Sometimes I've noticed that these expectations that we think people expect us to meet are just mental, they are created in your brain and those you really think expect this much from you will accept you any way you are even if you decide to drop out from the university. Why will they accept you? it is because they remain your family. Some family members and friends may act disappointed when you do not meet up to their expectations, but it should not be your problem.

What you should focus on as a person is meeting up with the expectations you have set for yourself, not the expectations of others.
267  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Interested to learning on: February 23, 2024, 11:13:53 AM
He told me that if I join here, the experts here will teach me everything. Looking for advice from the experts, how can I build my future with this Bitcoin?
You can learn from the forum by reading posts and replies of more experienced forum members, but you will not get one on one lecture from anyone. You will learn from community discussions if you really read here in the forum, and other external materials that you may be referred to or come across.

Learning can get discouraging especially when it seems like the people you are learning from are really far ahead in knowledge than you are, you do not have to stop even when it seems like you are not understanding any explanation given, keep reading, it will all make sense soon.
268  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5.00 CGPA or 5 BTC? on: February 23, 2024, 10:37:18 AM
This is really a food for thought. Having a full thought on this, I will say 5.00 CGPA why? Cause one can get to improve more on their skills and acquire more skill set. That is one can work in any industry and acquire more pay.
But with 5 BTC one will just have just a fixed number, what i mean is, any time btc goes up or down that's the whole amount you  have but with a 5.00 in a good field you can tend to grow what you earn.
The chances of you getting a god paying job even with your perfect CGPA is still slim in some countries where connection is more valid for getting jobs than just the degree and certificate you have. With 5 BTC, you can comfortably start up a company that will employ those with the 5.0CGPA, putting together their wealth of knowledge to make more money for themselves.

Excuse me, but I will choose 5.0BTC any time any day, the options which it provides are endless.
269  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: February 22, 2024, 07:45:37 PM
Arsenal LOL

Still as pathetic in the CL as they always have been.
It was a painful game for us and an eye opener that we need to do better in the second leg. Porto outclassed us even though we had most of the possession in the game. If we are serious about remaining in the champions league, we need to score Porto within the first 20 minutes of that game to set the momentum for us. With just one goal, we will be back onto the race.

They are not going to win it though, they do not have a squad that knows how to win big trophies.
Don't write us out yet, we still have a good shot at it.
270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc and people knowledge on: February 22, 2024, 07:19:00 PM
People say that they don't know what is the btc and there is no clear story for them to trust btc.
It is just an excuse that these people give themselves so they do not invest in bitcoins. Although there are many wrong and contrary information regarding bitcoins, there is still the correct information about it if only these people will make the extra effort to try and check online for it.

Don't waste too much time trying to convince anybody that is proving too difficult to convince about bitcoins, leave them to their own opinions and focus on gathering more bitcoins so that later on in the future they will see the results of the decision that they refused to take.
271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble with what you can afford to lose can actually make a good investment on: February 22, 2024, 06:39:22 PM
Put this in places that if you keep those money into investment do you know how much you would gain by the end of the month or year without even you making such profits while gambling but yet we kept preaching the word "gamble with what you can afford to lose" why not some people use that same money to go into bitcoin investment or any other investment that could help their lives rather than wasting them into gambling and even secure a better winning themselves.
As you live through life you have to try and smell the roses and not to become too conscious about making money that you forget to have fun. Gambling is for fun and investing is good, while you are trying to invest, try to have some fun too and do not be too conscious about loosing some little amount of money. This is what gambling with what you can afford to loose means, it does not mean you should not have an investments while gambling, just that you should be conscious not to gamble too much that you start using what should be meant for investment for gambling.
272  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who's winning more casinos or gamblers? on: February 22, 2024, 06:22:50 PM
So the casino remains the biggest beneficiary, right?
The casino is a business and like every business they are in it to make profits. If the casino business is not profitable, many casino's and gambling platform would have shut down by now, and we will not be seeing an influx of new casinos to the scene. Number of people who lose daily on gambling cannot be compared to the number of people who win, and with the  number of gamblers increasing worldwide, the casino business remains very lucrative. Gamblers can benefit from a casino or betting platform, but the casino's remain the biggest beneficiary even with all the operational cost.

I didn't understand why Pep didn't send Kevin De Bruyne in. .
I did not understand too, it cost me some points, but later it was reported that KDB did not feel comfortable and was rested as a precaution. It will be a blow to Manchester City and Pep if he gets injured again just after returning from injury, it was the best decision from the coach.

hope to see Nunez on the pitch, so he can outscore Haaland tonight, and provide my 3C choice some return
nevertheless, not hoping to much on that
Nunez is still doubt for the game, it may be Cody to take his place.

275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and its impact on my life: A journey to a better tomorrow. on: February 21, 2024, 02:29:53 PM
In conclusion, with this contribution, I want to convey the following to people, especially those deciding to enter the world of Bitcoin: Educate yourself, stay informed, and don't panic. Only invest what you are willing to lose. I didn't come up with this advice; wiser, more experienced individuals did, and I listen to them. If you encounter any issues, reach out to people who understand it better and have valuable experience. I found support in the Bitcoin Community group on Facebook.
You are a very good writer, and your story/experience is very valuable to other newbies too because it gives a form of blueprint on how you were able to stay HODLing bitcoins  even as a new investor. Information is always important, and as a newbie to investing, to avoid the panic that can come from investing in bitcoins, information will help.

I hope for you@OP that your health gets better.

How about this? Our government is moving against currency speculators. Binance and other platforms are in their target too.

Nigeria Mulls Blocking Binance, Crypto Platforms Over Forex Manipulation

and I quote "Nigeria’s government is contemplating the drastic step of blocking Binance and other cryptocurrency platforms amid concerns over alleged forex market manipulation and illicit financial activities.
According to officials familiar with the matter, the move comes as the Nigerian currency experiences an unprecedented depreciation to an all-time low of N1,800 against the dollar in the parallel market."

Our government is now doing their usual, denying that they are incompetent and blaming the situation on artificial devaluation by currency speculators and exchanges like binance and other websites that show exchange rates.

Do you wanna know why Haaland not score? Because for the first time in the season i put him playing the freehit, totally fucked.
Good chance for him to score today against Brentford, Manchester City are pressing well, and although Brentford are defending well and very organized, but they will not be able to keep it on for long.

Kevin De Bruyne not starting is a kind of a blow to me because he is my captain. I hope he comes on and scores a goal, or maybe just have a good performance, and let the game still end in favor of Brentford or another draw game.

I am in between getting points for the GW from my MCI selects, and then Manchester City dropping points so Arsenal remain second with hopes of getting to first soon. I want MCI to drop points more.
278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: February 20, 2024, 07:56:58 PM
However I was lucky to win a bet with my last stake some days ago.
I have been this lucky, in my university days many tears ago, I staked N200 naira which should be some cents in dollars and won an amount that had good value then and was enough to get me a loaf of bread for a meal. It was on virtual games, and after I won I was tempted to want to try again with some more more money from what I had won already, but I was able to control myself and go home with what I had won. It was a good experience to make want to gamble again especially on virtual games, but I had it under control, knew the risks with betting addicted to virtual games, and did not allow it.
279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A famous influencer lost more than $4000 in just 2 minutes. (2) on: February 20, 2024, 07:23:58 PM
Well the link no longer works, says video has been removed or link broken.

If he was paid to promote a casino, then this video will not be released for public consumption as it does not attracted more people to gambling rather it send fears to gamblers by telling them what could possibly happen to them over some careless mistakes.
A more suspicious advert would be the influencer winning 4000 dollars from the casino, if that was what in the video.

Also from his reaction, one can easily tell that it was his money that he lost. He should accept his loss and move on.

Failure to follow the rules of risk management comes with huge prices just like this case.
Also a lesson that influencers can loose too, they are not immune to it.
280  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Drop your predictions for the value of Naira against dollar? on: February 19, 2024, 03:42:38 PM
As for you question, why no just specify the time. Example is to ask the question that what would be the price of dollar to bitcoin before the end of this year. You can not ask the question in an indefinite way.
Sorry that I did not make it very specific, I been feel say I dun already lay the example of the duration from my own prediction wey I been give wey be from April to June (second quarter)
In maybe the second quarter of the year, I predict one dollar to be almost the equivalent of N2,500 because our government seems to be clueless on what to do.

I go dey more specific and plain next time with the duration.

Before the end of this year, I am expecting at least 1 dollar to be 2000 to naira. But at most, it should not be more than 2500.
Your predictions are valid, but at some point too, I never expected 1 dollar to get more than 1000, Nigeria shock me! Nigeria still fit shock you with that 2500 mark that you have set. Cheesy

This is not right because I think this is not the question that you want to ask. It is dollar against naira and not naira against dollar. There are differences between USD/NGN and NGN/USD. You are asking about USD/NGN pair and not the other.
Thanks a lot for this correction, I have edited the post and made the correction.
