401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 02, 2024, 09:03:08 PM
I will care if the person who has an opinion on gambling is someone who is in a position to offer help to me, because if the person has a bad or wrong opinion of all gamblers, it can affect whatever plan they have to help me, and make them change their mind.

If it is an opinion from people who do not matter, to h*ll with their opinions.
402  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: January 01, 2024, 09:59:31 PM
When Salah I knew that something spectacular will happen in this game, look at the score line now at 85 minutes 3:2 what a match filled with many goals. I just pray Liverpool hold on to this lead.
Liverpool are a serious team, and it now clear their determination to win the league, qualify for the champions league after failing to do so this season. With the focus of Liverpool, it will be difficult to loose games as they take every game seriously. Arsenal and the other clubs have a big job to catch up to Liverpool, because they have started this year on a brilliant note against a strong team like Newcastle.

Liverpool are still very much Lucky to have Mo' Salah, they are lucky not to have lost his to the Saudi's.
403  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Who is an educated Person? on: January 01, 2024, 09:45:51 PM
School is not only the criteria that someone has to fulfil to be termed educated. The correct identity of an educated person is someone who knows how to read, write and then seek out information for yourself. Not everyone who has been in school is educated, some just passed through school and are still not educated. Education brings a civilised mindset, and the behaviour of an educated person and an uneducated person is very different from each other.

I have heard the term "educated Illiterate" before used in the description of some people, it is because these people went to school but are not behaving educated.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your New Year's resolution? on: January 01, 2024, 09:28:44 PM
Please share it with us here, and please don't make your new years resolution like you will not gamble again, that's against the rule of a gambler.
It may seem unachievable, but for this year I plan to help at least two addicted gambler's out of their situation. I understand that the situation of some addicted gamblers require professional help, and I am willing to assist two addicted gamblers who really require help,  to get the help they need.

It will cost me some.money, but I am willing to make that sacrifice to assist the gambling community to reduce the number of addicts.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health concern on: January 01, 2024, 08:47:14 PM
It's New Year here in our country and I happened to bump into an old friend who narrated a story about how he almost suffered a heart attack after he won a big amount of money in a casino, this was several months ago, he's lucky that his son was around at that time so he got the right treatment at the right time.

Imagine never winning for years, and on the day you win, you die from a heart attack from the excitement, that is a very terrible death and not a good way to die. This is why it is necessary to always be aware of your health before you gamble.

Gambling takes money, and If a gambler has a health challenge, their first priority should be to channel their money towards getting better, and not gambling. If money is not the problem , but your health challenge puts you at danger of dieing suddenly due to the excitement from gambling, gambling should also be avoided.
406  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the perception of people about gamblers in your neighborhood? on: December 31, 2023, 08:05:04 PM
However, a lot has changed recently as gambling has become one of the biggest business here.
A lot probably changed because gambling has been modernized, and because of how it has been well packaged. Many people, different genders and from different categories of life are now gamblers. We do not now have only people who gamble for the purpose of trying to make money, but also people who gamble for fun.

As a result of that, societal perception has also improved as many testimonies of life-changing wins from gambling has emerged.

Societal perception has improved because of better buildings and physical structures for gambling, Standard marketing campaigns by some gambling platforms and sponsorships etc.

Some of the criticizers are now gamblers.
407  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: December 31, 2023, 07:39:41 PM
do you believe in experts gambling predictions?
So long as some people call themselves experts, there will always be gullible people to believe them and take their words seriously.

For something that has no 100% guarantee as gambling, it is difficult to believe that there are experts especially in games that are luck based and not skill based.

Most so-called experts are self acclaimed, self acclaimed because they have had maybe a series of positive outcomes from their predictions. Even so, with the many positive outcomes, I will rather they be referred to as experienced gamblers than experts.
408  Economy / Economics / Re: First time? A company suing because people aren't buying its products!!! on: December 31, 2023, 06:57:21 PM
I just read this news and I can't stop laughing.
McDonald's is said to be planning to sue people who have been refusing to buy its products over the past months leading to their $1.3 million loss. This is due to a boycott movement where people in a lot of countries are sanctioning this company because of its support of the Zionist regime that is occupying Palestine and is committing genocide there.
It is ridiculous because they can actually focus and dedicate the funds that they will use to pursue a court case on rebranded marketing, and other things like giving back to the community, so that they can improve their status and have a good score with community members who already frown at them for supporting the zionist movements.

The situation the company has put themselves should be a lesson to other established brands and company to be careful before showing support or taking sides with any movement or cause. Sometimes as a company or brand, keep your opinions to yourself, neutrality will safe you from some loses that can be made by picking sides.
409  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin Investment Strategy Proposal for 2024 on: December 31, 2023, 06:15:22 PM
buying a fixed $25 daily or buying based on the price of BTC at the time of purchase (also daily).
Buy a fixed amount, that you can easily become used to and comfortable DCA-ing. Trying to DCA different amounts based on the price of bitcoins will not be feasible because there are always other needs that demand attention.

To DCA, you need to be comfortable doing so, not under any pressure either from internal and external source. Making an attempt to invest based on the price of bitcoins is you generating internal pressure for yourself.
410  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin Deviated from The Vision of Satoshi? on: December 31, 2023, 06:02:34 PM
Look at the Bitcoin whitepaper once more: a peer-to-peer electronic payment system indeed. Was Satoshi really envisioning a payment system so widespread that it became a preferred way of paying for goods and services? What's happening today? Bitcoin is now more of an investment than a payment tool.
Satoshi's vision was not just for today it is for the future because he's so far into it. Bitcoins right now may not to be a peer to peer system, but the future is not yet here, and what we are experiencing right now are all the activities that will occur before the final goal of bitcoins are achieved. We may not live to see bitcoins become a globally accepted means of payment, but we are getting there, and there is a greater chance for it to occur, than for it not to.

Patience!
411  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Am I Too Broke To Own Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2023, 10:56:23 PM
~
Who told you that only rich people are the ones who own bitcoin. Bitcoins were not created exclusively for.the rich, but for everyone from all works of life. You can buy any amount of bitcoins, an amount within your financial capacity.

You don't need to have lots of money before buying bitcoins, buy with what you can spare, and then work to get more and increase you income streams.

Thinking you are too broke to invest will be regretted later when you hear of people.who even invested less in bitcoins from more worse situations and were still able to have a positive outcome.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: License: is it a guarantee? on: December 27, 2023, 05:58:16 PM
But have been wondering and wanting to ask, does a license guarantees that a casino won't scam it's customer's going forward.
It is no guarantee.

A casino may change management without your knowledge and the license obtained by the previous owners is passed to the new owners who you may never know their intentions.

A license in some countries can also be illegally obtained with enough money to bribe the officials that issue the license.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is there any fun in losing while gambling on: December 27, 2023, 05:55:00 PM
Let’s be frank, there are several other things one can do for fun aside gambling and I understand that life it’s own is a risk but seeing claims that people see gambling as fun even when making losses is weird and I think it’s worth discussion as to know if truly people gamble strictly for fun without minding if they’re losing or winning
There is no activity that you will intend doing for fun that will not require money, you will either spend money on drinks, or food, or spend money to enjoy and have access to some facilities. To gamblers who gamble for fun, they consider any amount lost as what they have spent to have some fun, and when you think of it that way, it answers your question.

So for the gamblers who you think should not be having fun gambling because they are loosing, they are actually having the fun in which they can be lucky and win back some of the money they have invested and spent in having fun. Some other fun activities do not offer that probability of a win back, you simply spend, and it is gone, money turned to memories.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: December 27, 2023, 05:43:41 PM
Perhaps deep down in our conscience, somewhere that we don't like to listen to, it still tells us the truth that the reason why we're going to gamble is to hopefully win money, not really to have fun.
You cannot speak for everyone because gambling is not the same for everyone and means different things to different individuals. There are people who are financially very stable, but will not enjoy any game they try to watch if they do not place a bet on it. For some, betting on a game adds extra suspense and thrill, trying to predict how a game will turn out. These people are not really focused on winning, but do not mind to win and will not also worry if they loose. That is just the fun for them.
415  Economy / Economics / Re: Why must you used such money to purchased a car? on: December 27, 2023, 05:21:29 PM
How do you people cook up these stories? do you not for one second stop and think that the people in this forum are not all fools??

This is what one of my friend did few months ago despite the advise I gave to him to invest the money on BTC or Ethereum, that  he will make more money that will give him more opportunities to build more companies but he never listen to my advice despite the inflation in the country but he went to used $28 millions to purchased Rolls Royce that will not last more than 5 years before it will start looking like old car to the eye of people.
There is no friend like this. STOP SPEWING LIES!!!

Even if there was a friend like this, A poor man's advise to a rich person will never be taken seriously. You are in no position to tell someone how to use their money or give financial advise to someone when they did not ask for you advise. You are no professional and should leave the duty of financial advise to the people who are paid for it.

416  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment is kind on: December 27, 2023, 05:11:26 PM
So myself I have decided to launch a vehicle parts shops in my city by January 2024 and I have decided to use Bitcoin as one of the criteria of payment ...
Having various means of payment is a way to make the payment process easier and to encourage purchase by customers. This is why options are always encouraged. Having bitcoin as one of the payment options will create awareness for people who own bitcoin and maybe due to emergency situation of things are forced to buy vehicle parts with some of the bitcoins they are trying to keep. These people will no longer need to go through the rigors of changing btc to fiat first before they can pay you. They will be able to pay you directly.
417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: biggest misconception about Cryptocurrency? on: December 27, 2023, 10:11:40 AM
What do you think is the biggest misconception people have about cryptocurrencies, and how would you clarify it?
Some misconceptions that some people have is that investing and Hodling any cryptocurrency can make them rich.
Correction: Not all cryptocurrency should be invested in, care has to be taken in choosing what to invest in. Bitcoin is always the recomended because of it track record and reputation.

Another is that their one time investment in cryptocurrency say bitcoins without follow up investments is enough to bring them wealth.
Correction: Investing ones in bitcoins is not enough, to get the best from bitcoins, we need as much bitcoins as we can keep, and the best way to get enough bitcoins is to continually invest regularly.
418  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 26, 2023, 09:29:46 PM
Some betting operators and bet shop owners do not care who they take money from for bets, so long as their pockets are enriched. It is not proper.

My question now is are there any moral, ethical or legal obligation to bar a person from gambling after physically observing that he is mentally unstable?
It is a very thin line between a homeless person and a mentally unstable person, sometimes you may mistake a man who is just homeless and leaves on the streets to be a mad or mentally unstable person, but it is not always true.

A homeless person has little hope, and betting or gambling and hoping to win may just be the last hope they have to at least get something from this life, If you think of it somehow, it can be sad to take away that last hope that they have got.
419  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advice for crypto bigginers who like chasing the next big thing in crypto. on: December 26, 2023, 04:41:45 PM
Hundred of BRC20 are now been printed everyday now, be careful fellas, as it's now a target for scammers, they have abandoned other hypes for Bitcoin BRC20, don't go and start buying any BRC20 that haven't pump yet with the hope that it will.
These are part of the everyday temptation that must be overcome, these are some of the temptation to distract you from hodling that which is really important these season where bitcoin value is about experiencing a surge.

Older investors in bitcoins know and are well aware of these kind of temptations at periods like this, so because of the experience they do not chase around projects that they just think will be the next big thing without carrying out their own research.
420  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When (if Tenable) is The Right Time to Share Your Bitcoin Private Keys? on: December 26, 2023, 04:18:30 PM
~
I imagine that an investor with a lot of bitcoins will not die pleasantly knowing that their bitcoins will be lost and will not be transferred to their family who may be in need of serious financial assistance. This is why I think that every investor should plan for their bitcoins like they were to die the next minute.

If you cannot trust a close member of your family, Your wife, your husband, your children, your brothers and sisters, then maybe you can get two lawyers who do not know each other and will be bound by law, split your seed phrase between the lawyers to deliver to your next of kin on the occasion of your death, timely or untimely.

A timelock can also be set, if you die before the time, and it is passed to your family, they will still need to wait for the time on the lock to elapse before they can assess it.
