342  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: As a trader never settle for less on: February 03, 2024, 10:10:52 PM
As a bitcoin  trader and holder one should never settle for less
The saying that Never settle for less is common saying used often by people in reference to different situations, to traders and trading, it is a 80% true and an applicable statement. As a trader, you should never settle for a strategy that is less, not earning enough profits from trading with your many effort. It is your responsibility and duty to always try to improve on your strategy as a trader by devoting to learning and interaction with other traders. If you settle for the strategy that earns you less, you are the one limiting yourself from getting more. Do not settle for less, do not settle for the bare minimum.

From the very moment "S. Adingra" of Ivory Coast scored an equalizing goal at 90 minutes into the match, I knew that was the beginning of a U-turn for Ivory Coast players, because the mistake the Malian team made was to feel relax after scoring their first goal at 71 minutes by "N. Dorgeles", and not plan to score a second one, but yet gave chances, and now paying for the costly mistake they made, as the match finally ended in victory of "Ivory Coast", a team we already lost hope has gone lost the game tonight, not until "O. Diakite" proved us all wrong with a brilliant goal 122 minutes into the game, hence preventing any need for penalty kick.
That was a very painful exit for Mali, they were already just preparing their minds for penalty kicks, but Ivory Coast never stopped believeing that they could win it, and they did. Maybe the prediction of a final between Nigeria and Ivory Coast will be what we will see.

Cape Verde is drawn with South Africa, and it will be another game to either be decided by extra time or penalty kicks. The winner of this game will determine who Nigeria will be preparing for next in the Semi Finals.

Lookman is one very key player in this Super Eagles team and he’s on his way to becoming the MVP of the tournament as he needs probably a goal and maybe an assist to his name. He’s currently having 3 goals and an assist to his name and he’s looking unstoppable. Well he was raised in England and played in the Engalnd U-21 but yet chose Nigeria senior team and yes his positive impact is being felt in the team. He’s not just being felt at the Super Eagles camp but also his club side, Atalanta as he remains a key part of their attack.
You see Lookman, you see a hungry player, you see Osimhen, you see a passionate player. These two players have been very important to the Nigerian attack.
344  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Difference between bitcoin investment and trading on exchange on: February 02, 2024, 11:35:35 PM
And then the last one na say the skill way you need to get for bitcoin investment na say you need to understand how to identify long-term trends for the markets, but for trading on exchange you need to understand how to focus and analyze short term movement of the price so that you go fit execute your trades when you suppose execute them.

If you say skill is required to invest in bitcoins, so potential investors may never invest because to them learning a new skill may be difficult.

Do you really require a skill to invest in bitcoins? I don't think so. You only need to knowledge on how to invest, that is where to buy bitcoins and then knowledge on how to keep the bitcoins you will buy safe from theft and loss.

Investment in bitcoins should also be for the long-term.

345  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learning comes before earning on: February 02, 2024, 11:20:52 PM
Many newborns trader have always made this types of great mistakes all they just wanted is to just flex without hard work and I gist it doesn’t work like that.
If you just want money without the work involved in trading, then you will easily be drawn to pay and subscribe for signal groups that will just be giving you signals to make profit from. You can never become extremely successful trading if you depend on signal groups to trade, but you will just be turned into a dependent trader. A newbie to trading needs to understand even before they start the learning process to trade that it involves long term learning to be very successful as a trader. As a new trader, focus on learning first, do not be under pressure to want to start earning in a short time of just knowing basic trading methods and strategies.
346  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be stolen? on: February 02, 2024, 07:25:06 PM
It turns out that Bitcoin stealers target not only big companies but individual users with modest amounts in their crypto wallets.
Everyone is a target, the moment you choose to start investing in bitcoins, you make yourself a target.

Now bitcoin is one of the safest way to invest digital currency. Because of its new and improved security system it makes it hard for hackers and thief to access
It is hard to steal, but not impossible. As an investor, don't ever think your investment too safe that you start becoming careless about safety.

So now the question is bitcoin safe from hackers?, can it be stolen,
Bitcoin can be stolen and not only by hackers, your bitcoins can be stolen by friends, your family or even people you may never suspect.
347  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 02, 2024, 06:44:27 PM
Moses Simon has been one man with a lot of surprises, from his pace and  his body movement, and to cap it all, he gave the assist for lookman to score. looking at the Nigerian team every focus is majorly on victor osimhen but the angolans are forgetting that osimhen might just be a distraction, while lookman and moses simon are doing the job.
Simon have been the most active player for Nigeria, he has really played his role. I am disappointed with Zaidu and Iwobi who I see as the weakest links in this Nigerian team. Nigeria lead by just a goal which is not safe, we need another goal in this game to feel safe because Angola are still in the game and can change things in a split second. Osimhen playing well but not as active as he was against Cameroon. Lookman remains our best finisher so far. It will be big if Nigeria make it through.
348  Economy / Economics / Re: Coping with Risk. on: February 02, 2024, 11:51:27 AM
so my question is, which is more risky?

A). Running a physical business that has a whole lot of risk associated with it or

B) running an online investment with high risk of hack that could result in you loosing all your asset.

Venturing into something you have no experience, knowledge and no one to guide you will increase the risk you stand to face and your chances to fail or victim a victim of loss.

If you just choose a business to start and a location to establish the business, and you did not make proper enquiries about the business you are starting, the challenges involved and security situation of the place where you are establishing the business, so you can know the security measures to use, you have increased risk in your physical business and reduced your chances of profiting well. If it is online investment, and you are not aware of the risk, you have made it more risky for you.

A business person with more knowledge on physical investments will consider it less risky to online investment where he has no real idea, and likewise an online investor.
349  Economy / Economics / Re: Why does a country borrow money from the world bank even when they can afford it on: February 02, 2024, 08:36:29 AM
Question: Why does the independent, developed and  productive countries still borrows money from the World Bank even when they have enough to execute their excused reasons given why they have to borrows the money?
Some of the countries borrowing do not actually have the money to execute the projects they want without affecting other sectors of their economy, so there is nowhere to pull out money from, and instead of printing more money which they can, they choose to borrow instead from world bank and other countries that can lend to them to avoid having too much of their money in circulation that can lead to inflation.

I am interested about this because in my country, we are independent and a productive country with revenues ought to be contented enough to execute the projects in demands of what they still borrows from the World Bank for and yet there is no economical improvements in the country instead we are running economical backwards.
In your country, there are corrupt leaders borrowing for no reason and embezzling borrowed funds meant to execute projects.
350  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rigging in sports:My Personal Perspective and discussion finding sus. sports on: February 01, 2024, 04:14:27 PM
how will this affect a gambler that's very responsible?
Although wins and losses in gambling are normal things that happen to every gambler, you will be concerned as a gambler and it will bother you if a certain sportbooks you play on or league you see as attractive has been flagged as having cases of of fraud in sports like match fixing and other forms of rigging.
You will be bothered because you know that winning has no longer been left to the future to decide, and chances of you winning is no longer fair when you are just predicting and making choices based on mere analysis.
351  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Viewpoint of a fan gambling on: February 01, 2024, 03:31:55 PM
What percentage of the gamblers in Bitcointalk are wagering and not wagering to their dearest star player, club and team?
If you can willingly and without remorse place a bet against your favorite team and players without any odd feeling, you do not really love your team and players, making it that you are gambling for money and the wins.

If you find it difficult to bet against your team or favorite players, and will rather not bet than bet against your team, you have real love for your team and players. This is my simple view.

352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proverbs and Sayings that Act as Triggers to Gambling on: February 01, 2024, 03:04:52 PM
Look at this Chinese proverb, "If you don’t gamble, you won’t know how lucky you are."
If it is actually a proverb about gambling that was formed by a gambler who was Chinese then the proverb will only trigger an appeal to people who have some gambling experience or already considering gambling.

To others who are not gamblers, this proverb will only mean to them to take more action about their lives, take more risk to see how lucky they can get, Luck does not only come from gambling.

354  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At a range of 2years, can a Bitcoin literate invest with a borrowed fund in BTC? on: February 01, 2024, 01:23:05 PM
Now, I have a friend who is educated about Bitcoin digital currency but doesn't have the capital to invest on it. Meanwhile... He is considering to take loan from his relative to pay back within the range of 2years.
This is to say he would have such range of time without a panic to pay back.
Before taking the loan, Paying back within two years time will look very achievable and the time frame very long, until when the loan is collected and the time begins to fly. Two years may feel like two months.

Borrowed funds will always put the borrower under pressure, unless there is an intention not to pay back.

It will be different if you are offered an interest free, pay back anytime or not kind of money from relatives as a way for them to help you. That kind of money can be accepted and used for investment in bitcoins.
355  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigeria Has Happened to Me:Shutting Down my Business After a Year of Operations on: January 30, 2024, 08:29:03 PM
Sadly, after a year of operations, I have reluctantly decided to close down the business. Inflation has taken a toll, making it financially unsustainable.
Many businesses have already shut down, and many that are still in operation are merely hanging by the thread. The economy keeps making it difficult for consumers to buy from retailers and retailers from wholesalers.

The lack of electricity and high cost of running petrol and diesel generators have made it so that those who cannot afford to now install solar power to keep their businesses running are considering shutting down or have shut down already. (for businesses that depend on electricity)

The increase in exchange rate has also affected the cost of importation, which has increased price of goods and products.  Businesses that depend on importation are biting their teeth's, the tax and clearance cost for their goods is becoming unaffordable.

For local businesses, they are also affected, transportation cost has increased too which has contributed to the prices of goods going high.

The situation is really alarming, we are just at the start of this administration that does not seem to care.
356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you ready for the Bitcoin bull market? What's your plan? Some ideas for you on: January 30, 2024, 08:11:07 PM
I recommend to give other method of investment a try if you have enough money to invest ...
Picking other viable options to invest in like real estate is recommended also. You should not sell off all your bitcoins for another investments, but can skim off some profit if you have invested well in bitcoins, to have other good investments outside cryptocurrency.
357  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the challenges people who accept bitcoin face in their businesses face on: January 30, 2024, 07:19:39 PM
1. That alot of people don't willingly want to pay make payment with bitcoin as a result of the high transaction fee
Aside the unwillingness to make payments in Bitcoin due to high transaction fee which I personally consider not totally true because transaction fees are not always high, there's also the unwillingness to make payments because of people's perspective and views towards Bitcoin. Many owners and hodlers of Bitcoin see Bitcoin as investments and not to be used for daily transactions especially in local shops so they are all unmotivated to use their Bitcoin for transactions when they have fiat for it.

358  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do many people fail in trade? on: January 29, 2024, 08:38:59 PM
What are your additions to understanding the learning time for someone who is learning to trade? I think sharing here will benefit those who may be close to giving up in this field.
A trader should not seek the easy way to make money. As a new trader, there is the usual temptation to join a signal group, even some of your tutor will try to convince you to join VIP groups with fees for profit. First step to failing as a new trader is to join these groups and start depending on them because it is an easy way to make money from trading.

As a trader, you will not be able to build sustenance in the market like that, If you think that you can, that is your failure already waiting to happen.
359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are every activities/competitions with stake known to be gambling? on: January 29, 2024, 08:25:51 AM
If there is no money involved, it is not gambling. If there is money involved, it is called gambling.
You know that opinion on this differs right?

Not every one agrees that money has to be involved before it is called gambling.

This is one topic I started last year that really showed that opinions on what gambling is and is not really differs from person to person.
Without money, does it still qualify as gambling?

Quote
Have you heard of Superpicks on DSTV? where you can make predictions and win money without staking your money?

if you have not, check it out. Superpicks.com

My question is can it still be called gambling if it is not played with money?
