Congratulation to Hhampuz, our GW 33 winner with monster 102 points. Palmer captain with Gordon and isak in in his team were more than enough.
Congratulations HHampuz, Palmer was COLD last GW.

1 mBTC free bet coming your way next Monday.
Hey Trofo, jeremypwr was quick to resolve the little challenge I had. Thank you.

Darwin not starting for Liverpool and Jota still out of first 11 makes me think Darwin should be in 11 for the Liverpool for the first game of the double.
Very possible, but generally the performance of Liverpool players have dropped, Salah has been struggling and the other players look fatigued. They are very unreliable right now. It is possible Liverpool loose some more games this season, maybe starting from this GW against Fulham.
82  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Price control action by the government through the FCCPC. on: April 18, 2024, 08:21:53 PM
Many Nigerians like myself have often complained about the unregulated nature of prices in the market and some big superstores, where the sellers and owners fix prices at their discretion without consideration of the customers buying. Exchange rates have reduced, but there are still marketers who have refused reducing the prices of their goods as quickly as they were to increase it.

The Federal government through an agency that I just heard recently but have been founded since have started price control actions to make sure that marketers that are taking advantage of Nigerians are brought to book.

The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) is the agency of government that has swung into action and closed down some supermarkets in the capital city for unfair prices.

Quote
The Federal Government on Thursday initiated sporadic enforcement raids at multiple supermarkets and markets within the Federal Capital Territory to ensure adherence to price display and quantity regulations, aiming to reduce the cost of food commodities nationwide.

It also said it would continue unannounced inspections at super and open markets in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kaduna, and Ibadan in the coming weeks to probe the abnormal price surges and take firm measures against any companies caught engaging in unfair market practices like price manipulation, excessive pricing, or cartel formation.
Quote
During the exercise that lasted several hours, the FCCPC sealed 4U Supermarket

source

What do you think? and how long will this agency be able to stay corruption free? Because it is not impossible for big supermarkets and stores to begin bribing the officials of this agency to allow them with their illegal prices.
83  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely ? on: April 18, 2024, 07:50:16 PM
Small transactions on bitcoin does not make any sense now at all. Like to make a $20 amount transaction, one has to pay about same amount, $20 in fees. This does not make any sense. Have you stopped using bitcoin for small transactions completely because of this reason ?
The high and unstable tx fees can be very discouraging to those who use bitcoins as currency.

As for me, I stopped using it for small transactions for other reasons not just this, because I consider bitcoin first as an investment. Using bitcoins for small transactions will be bad because it has the potential to affect what I am trying to Hodl immediately the habits gets used to me.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏆Rollbit.com | Champions League Pool | $11,000+ in Prizes ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: April 17, 2024, 11:52:21 PM
What a shameful Manchester City.Look when they will also lose the league with such performances, how can Silva lose a penalty by shooting so light and in the center in the hands of the goalkeeper,
Manchester City Out! Arsenal Out! Somehow Manchester City loosing also made the pain of Arsenal loosing out of the competition less Smiley They have taken the attention away from us. It is a bigger news that the defending champions have been knocked out, than the inexperienced Arsenal team.

but I think in final we will see PSG vs Real this time and both teams will have equal chances to win the trophy.
Do you think the two German teams will be knocked out easily? Dortmund may not be an easy biscuit for PSG.
85  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ways to Appreciate Your Favorite Casino Beyond Playing on: April 17, 2024, 11:43:31 PM
To show appreciation to the online casino, I'll tell *people about it. I will be proactive by sending them the casino link, encouraging them to sign up deposit and play their first game. As I am doing this, I will tell them that if they don't like what they see, then I will return whatever money that they deposited on the platform. I will also recommend my favourite game on the casino to them.
I was thinking about this too because referral is also great for businesses and is also a way to show a business owner that should really were impressed with the services that they offered you. It is not easy making a referral, because whenever a referral is made, you have put your reputation on the line.

I however will not go ahead to tell whoever I refer the casino to that I will be willing to pay back any money they deposited if they do not like what they see because after my referral, I expect these people to do their research and make the decision on their own to either go with my referral or not. In my experience, it is best not to pressure people to make choices.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do casinos do with inactive accounts? on: April 16, 2024, 06:58:39 PM
What do casinos do with inactive accounts? And what does inactivity mean - not logging in to your casino account or logging in say every two months without playing any game?
I recently tried using my sportsbet.io account to place some bets, I received a mail about by account being inactive and I just had to send a mail for reactivation.

Prior to that this is the mail I received.

So the reason for inactivation of account can be seen clearly. The reasons for inactivation may be different across different casinos.
87  Economy / Economics / Re: Prioritizing strong foundation over quick gains on: April 15, 2024, 04:07:59 PM
Setting out strong foundation that's aimed at supporting long term gain is the best thing you can do for yourself...
Quick Wealth is very deceitful and can be dangerous because it can make someone become more comfortable thinking that they are doing okay without considering the future. Life would be easier for someone who has never been rich than for someone who was rich and is now broke and bankrupt.

With a strong foundation, riches has been built at a consistent rate, and because of the financial confidence and skills that the person who prioritizes a strong foundation has acquired, it becomes very difficult and less likely for that person to become broke again and totally bankrupt.

89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: April 14, 2024, 10:25:24 PM

It's a bad week overall. No one saw that Arsenal and Liverpool mess up coming.
Very disappointing performance from my club Arsenal, I never expected the 0-2 loss to Villa. Manchester City have all
The advantage to win the league now and they can because they have the easiest fixtures to the end of the season.

Which season will Arsenal win the league?
90  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: April 14, 2024, 07:07:30 PM
Now, Leverkusen has officially broken Bayern Munich's dominance. In fact, the points between these two teams are very far apart, so next season is a new challenge for Xabi to bring the squad for his team. because Bayern Munich will not let the title they have had change places. Next season, the competition will be even more complicated. So, Xabi must prepare his team as early as possible. however, before all that. Alonso still has 2 missions, namely, the Europa League and the DFB Pokal. The coach's focus is only on these two competitions. remaining in the Bundesliga, will no longer affect Leverkusen.  Except, Alonso wants an unbeaten record throughout this season in the Bundesliga.
Lucky for Xhaka who is winning a title in his first season, and unlucky for Harry Kane who would have been expecting the bundesliga on a platter but now will have to wait another season and will just compete for highest goal scorer. Leverkusens record has been very astounding this season, if the coach remains with the team, this same standard will be expected even in the other competitions that they will play in like the champions league.

Congratulations to Xabi, congratulations to all the players and the supporters, one day will be Arsenal’s turn to celebrate 🥹.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Geopolitical Tension and its effects on Gambling on: April 14, 2024, 04:50:44 PM
Do people gamble less when they see such tensions around the globe?
It is logical that gambling activities should reduce majorly in those areas where there are tensions because gamblers in those areas will be more focused on getting to safety and managing whatever resources they have during this time, so they can always afford essential supplies than on trying their chances gambling.

Some gamblers who gamble online may still be able to find the time to gamble, but offline gamblers will be most affected.
I think it is only people who are addicted that will still gamble from these areas regardless of the crisis and unrest.

92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BC.Game 🦁 Fantasy Premier League Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: April 14, 2024, 03:11:52 PM
I forgot about the early Saturday game so was late to make changes. I have Son as my captain instead of Salah, and Son would have been transferred to Gordon, I swear.
Gordon had two assist and one goal in the game and played full minutes, Had you not forgotten and then you made Gordon your captain, that would have been good points. Salah blanked today even though he played FT, Nunez blanked, Jota Blanked and Liverpool has lost unexpectedly to Crystal palace at the Anfield.

Liverpool obviously did not recover from Atalanta's ass whooping! Good to say Liverpool are out of the race for the EPL title. Now the focus on Manchester City and Arsenal.
93  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What could be the reason.. on: April 14, 2024, 10:20:13 AM
Bitcoin have remain illegal in several countries, including Qatar,China and saudi Arabia because it cannot be regulated and its illicit ties to Money laundering, financing Terrorism, human trafficking etc.
In some of these countries, you can trace the reasons to the system of government practiced. In a system of government where the citizens are mostly not considered, and the decision making power lies in the power of one man or very few individuals who do not like bitcoins, it will be quick for the country to tag bitcoins as illegal and prohibited for their citizens.
If the one person or few people making decisions in these countries have a positive view on bitcoins, it will not be illegal.

Despite all this illegal tiers about Bitcoin, what could be the reason why  some develop nations
like USA,United kingdom,Canada, france,Denmark etc haven't considered Banning the use of bitcoin.I love to hear your views

In most of these countries decision making are not usually the responsibility of just one person or very few individuals, and before decisions are made on some certain things, the citizens are usually considered and long debates are held between lawmakers.
94  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Simple practices to improve trading (2). on: April 14, 2024, 09:40:47 AM
- Join a community of traders.
I will not encourage this because it may also lead to scam.
When joining a community, there also has to be care taken when choosing the community to join. If you are not certain of the community to join, you can create your community by starting a group and inviting others who are interested in trading to join the group.

Because of the potential of scammers in the groups, you do not need to be engaged in a private discussion with anyone if you are just a member, but if are the admin and creator of the group or community, make it known to everyone to be careful of private messages from other members of the group/community.

A benefit of joining a community is that you have a group of people that can provide you quick answers to any questions you have and then offer you insights, and share learning materials with you in cases and situations where you need them. Things can be easier with a group of people with same interest, than you trying to be a lone soldier.
95  Economy / Economics / Re: Counting the cost of a ww3. on: April 13, 2024, 11:59:25 PM
The the Russia - Ukraine war is one war that the global economy is on what I will call the borderline of recovery from and here is another conflict in the Middle East  region somewhat a major supplier of energy to the world. if this conflict should escalate with other major countries (which I chose not to mention) getting involved the global economy might be hit with worse recession than we are currently facing.
The economic effects of wars are always terrible on the citizens first and then for other countries who depend on them. The more countries that are dependent on these countries, the more severe the economic effect will be especially if it is a country that massively produces and exports essential commodity that has limited alternatives.

… can also have a significant effect on the price of bitcoin not performing high as investors have been predicting in anticipation to it's halving circle of a bull run as some actors are forecasting of an indeterminate impending ww3.
The present situation can force people to consider investing more in bitcoins because of some benefits like them being able to move around with their investment more easily. It can lead to higher demand of bitcoins which will exceed supply, thus driving the price upwards.

I was falling for this "leaked lineup" untill I saw Foden in it. There is Alvarez and Bob available, there is no way he's risking Foden against Luton when there is a bigger mountain to climb next week and Foden is his biggest asset right now.
No game time for Foden, and Doku had the best performance for Manchester City in my opinion. No Rodri also for Pep today, and Manchester City still did not loose the game.

Isak seems so in form lately, his been making the rounds for his team and it’s a good one having 2 goals from him today.   Spurs assets were just a waste in this GW.
Newcastle smoked Tottenham! Isak always on flying form when at home, If Arteta look his way to bring him to the emirates next season, I will consider him a good buy even with his injury challenges, I think Arteta will be able to manage him properly.

Removed captaincy from My boy Palmer and placed on Son again after calling him a fraud 2 weeks ago.
Son is a big player in big games, so I understand this move.

Bruno Fernandes scored two goals today even though Manchester United could not win Bournemouth. 15 points for me through him and he would have been a good captain for me this week.
98  Economy / Trading Discussion / Simple practices to improve trading (2). on: April 13, 2024, 08:25:31 PM
As a notice, I originally created this topic on altcoinstalks, but because there is a larger traffic here, I like to share it here too because I believe that in addition to my observations, there will be other observations from other more experience people that we can randomly learn from.

Some simple practices can help a newbie trader to quickly improve on his/her trading skills. some of these practices are very simple, can be done alone or best with another newbie trader who wants to become an expert trader. Some of these practices that I have observed are;

- Practice demo trading, although not all traders started with Demo trading because some traders actually could handle the risk of loosing.
- Be consistent, and to encourage or learn consistency, you can start a 21 days trading challenge with a fellow newbie trader, or a trading challenge for as long as you want. If you do a challenge with someone, the person can encourage you when you feel like quitting from the challenge due to failed analysis or other reasons.
- Whenever you loose in trading, always return back to find out the reason why you failed.
- Do not depend on signal groups.
- Practice emotional control.
- Do not focus on too many cryptocurrency pairs.
- Join a community of traders.

These are a few, and I am sure there are more from other traders, please share to the benefit of us all.
99  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Free electricity available. Suggestion about small ASIC? on: April 13, 2024, 08:06:23 PM
This is my situation:

- I work for a company that deals with electricity, so I have a very cheap (almost free) electricity contract.

Given that electricity is not a problem, my only constraint is space:
If having free electricity is one of the benefits you are deriving from being an employee in a company that deals with electricity, have you considered the situation you will be in if you are laid off work or something happens and the benefit of free electricity is no longer there? Your whole plan of becoming a miner could crumble.

While you plan for space, still have a backup plan for electricity incase of any situation, that is if of course you have a long term approach towards mining.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving countdown on: April 13, 2024, 07:56:09 PM
I want to know what we are excited about, and to know if we're slacking over this opportunity.
I presume alot of investors are purchasing more coins too in regards to this.
I can't wait for the halving to come and go so we can actually see less shit post and unnecessary discussions about it. Due to the hype around the halving, Many new investors have set unrealistic figure in their minds as the figure that the value of bitcoins will get to, I believe many people's expectation will be cut short because Bitcoin may actually not perform as they expected and they may not become the millionaires out of the halving like they planned to.
There is life after the halving, new investors should also plan for their investments post-halving.
