61  Economy / Economics / Re: Main countries in Unions and alliances handle better economy issues on: September 08, 2024, 04:22:38 PM
That's why it's important to belong in union (the gang) so you get atleast some protection otherwise the powerful countries will do with you what they want.
Countries should not be pressured to join other countries in alliance or unions. Some unions and alliances have worse effects on the lesser countries than gains. Some have been drawn into unnecessary conflicts that the bigger countries started with another country, some forced to increase export of agricultural produce or other materials to support in the conflict, and some forced to accept policies that the bigger countries demand. Alliances do not always have positive effects; this is why every country has to be selective of the country they want to enter into an alliance with.
62  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How do you tell an exchange is a scam ? on: September 07, 2024, 11:55:28 PM
Yesterday I was watching a live podcast going on live on my phone which i was listening to and which he was adivings newbies and some old member that are into the market of crypto to be careful on how they use some unrecommendeqd exchange without making careful research about the exchange and some crypto guys talked about this,
Because the Nigerian government has been fighting a lot of exchanges in the country, the likelihood of people now falling victim to scam exchanges is now even higher than before. It can still be avoided by asking the right questions.

"using an exchange that promise lower fees, when in reality majority of them are just scam and which he may mention of there social media platforms not having real comments on their pages"...
Ridiculously low fees and many promised bonuses can be red flags. An exchange trying to copy another having a similar logo and interface, etc. should also be an obvious scam.
63  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hype or fundamental or technical analysis? what is more important in crypto? on: September 07, 2024, 11:40:48 PM
Hype will not last long because it is going to fade and other projects will get the hype that you were once getting hence you shouldn't be depending on hype to invest into a project.
You can say that the hype starts the project, but the fundamentals keep the project going. The hype becomes part of the fundamentals. The hype for a project is good, but the bad side is that you can never know when a hype is organic or when it has been falsely and inorganically generated by the company behind the coin. That is why the hype is never really trusted, and most people investing in new projects based on hype are taking a gamble. If you are not comfortable investing in new projects based on hype, you can wait for the fundamentals.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Nations League 2024/2025⚽ on: September 07, 2024, 11:13:56 PM
Most of the European Nations League matches that was played today produced many goals so I'm not surprised that many gamblers are very happy with the results.
Tomorrow has another set of games in line; Portugal will take on Scotland after winning their first game. Ronaldo should be scoring his 900+ goals tomorrow. Also for Spain that I lost my free bet to, I cannot be so sure that they will win in the game versus Switzerland. Unlike Serbia, Switzerland will score goals if they have as many chances as Serbia had.

The three lion won their games without issues, goals from Rice and Grealish. Good mark for Lee Carsley.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2025 Qualifiers - CAF. on: September 07, 2024, 10:46:33 PM
And yes, I've always wanted Boniface upfront for Nigeria but his performance today was nothing to write home about but I'm not dismissing the fact that he's a great forward and will do better for Nigeria in the future.
I do not think Victor Boniface did badly today; he would have probably scored if he had stayed on in the game. Kudos to him, and hopefully he stays fit to make sure that there is competition for that top position for us. If Nigeria plays the way we played today against Rwanda next, we should also win that game. On social media, I saw Nigerians taking a swipe at former coach Finidi George. Not really good; the fact that he was not successful with the national team does not take away his achievements as a player for us. We need to remember and respect that.

Our neighbors Cameroon also won their game against Namibia, with Vincent Aboubakar scoring the winner.
66  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: a beginner wanting to start bitcoin mining on: September 07, 2024, 08:52:54 PM
I have been curious about mining bitcoin and how it actually work. if i would to try to start mining, what are the required equipments that i need to have and how much are they worth?
If you are still considering the cost of things, maybe you should not be considering mining because it involves a big budget. Have a very big budget that you will not need to consider the cost of electricity or the cost of equipment if you must consider mining because everything has become more expensive, the electricity tariff has risen in some places, and the cost of buying and maintaining the equipment has also increased. As a beginner, unless you really love mining, there are other ways you can earn from bitcoins because mining is very cost-intensive.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2025 Qualifiers - CAF. on: September 06, 2024, 11:48:19 PM
Hopefully tomorrow I will bet on Nigeria to win Benin, I believe the Nigerian team has what it takes to win Benin tomorrow.
We have always had all it takes to defeat any African country and even dominate the football space in Africa. Our problem remains the coach, and I don't think our problem is solved yet. I'm hoping to see if the solution that the NFF has put forward is permanent because the abilities of our coach are still in doubt. Personally, I still will not bet on the super eagles; they remain very unreliable.

Also, Victor Boniface is one player I have been waiting to watch him play alongside Lookman. Am confidence with the player right now in the team.
Maybe Boniface should be given the opportunity to start and not come in as a sub. If he scores, I feel Osimhen will be motivated to score his own goal when he comes on to secure his place in the first team and not lose it to Boniface.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football seasons: how it affects virtual games betting and live match betting. on: September 06, 2024, 11:30:52 PM
*Do you stick to mostly virtual gambling during off football seasons and resume live betting once a new season resumes or it doesn't matter at all?
The football schedule is very tight for players; some have complained about it because there is always one competition for them to play and they barely have rest during the off-seasons from their leagues. During the off-seasons of some football leagues, there are also some other international competitions or friendly games that are scheduled and have game fixtures that gamblers who want to keep betting on live games can bet on.

I avoid virtual games as much as possible because, although it is similar to betting on live games, the outcomes are too instant, and a gambler who is not careful can gamble multiple times and lose a lot of money within a short period before being able to realize themselves.

69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rollbit.com 🦁 Fantasy Premier League ⚽ Discussion Thread [0.15+ BTC] on: September 06, 2024, 11:22:16 PM
The other main problem with Haaland on the Fantasy game is he is the only super sure forward of the game (adn yes i know we still have Solanke and Watkins) but super reliable is only him,
Haaland is a good goal scorer, but not super reliable in every game. We know he has few touches in games, but there are games where he blanks completely, and in some of those games, you may even expect his performance to be good.

Well, that was exactly me few weeks ago, failed to TC Halaand against Ipwish and deep down I was hopping for him to blank...
Because he blanks in some games is still the reason why some people do not have him and why some others that have him are not fully confident in him.

If Arsenal can get a good goal scorer, he will be reliable too to an extent because we create enough chances, Chelsea too.
70  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Nations League 2024/2025⚽ on: September 05, 2024, 11:59:11 PM
I did bet on Spain though and I lost my bet, more reason for me to be against the Nations League.  Angry Sad
I lost this bet too, and I don't think it is just us. It was not expected based on the reputation that Spain have built for themselves recently and the attackers they have; it just seemed to me like Spain did not take the game very seriously, plus with Rodri's absence, their midfield had little defensive presence, and I should have considered that before making a single bet on only the Spain game, thinking they should be able to win the game even if it was just by a goal.
71  Other / Off-topic / Re: You can Grow big and wealthy If you can make one loyal group but it's difficult on: September 05, 2024, 11:51:03 PM
The wealthy are wealthy and powerful because they have method to keep group together and working well.
Sometimes it can be irritating when people make up assumptions for people who are wealthy, claiming to know how they think or the reason why they are wealthy. There is no manual or fixed way through which people made wealth; it should not even be a surprise to you that some people made wealth on their own without any group or individuals working together with them. It is very possible.

You are very lucky and should consider yourself blessed if you have a set of individuals, a group of people who are friends, and you all together are hungry to make wealth. Because you all share the same goal, you can all be motivation to each other.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2025 Qualifiers - CAF. on: September 04, 2024, 06:11:20 PM
Football is the only thing that units us as nation (Nigerian) I don't see the reason why the super eagles should pick a local Coach, then the local Coach will not focus in picking players from the Nigerian professional league. Instead they will focus more by inviting players that are foreign based.
This does not make any sense to me, because if the NFF had gone for another foreign coach on such short notice, there is still the high chance that they get a coach who will not also be fit for the Job. There is no problem with the selected local coach choosing to stick with the National players that have been playing together for a while now. Local players may not have the experience required to win these important games that we have, but our foreign players, under a good coach, can still do well.
73  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Identifying Unique Trading Opportunities for Traders on: September 04, 2024, 05:19:57 PM
I've missed out on a number of opportunities here in the crypto space for a number of reasons. While trading for instance, a number of narratives that are unpredictable shows up every now and then. Maybe, I've not been familiar with those, right?
Trading opportunities will not be easily spotted by new traders. This is why it is advised that traders remain consistent with the market because consistency will sharpen the skill to be able to identify trading opportunities even before they present themselves so that you could position yourself properly to make profits.

Additionally, what are your thoughts on participating in trading events? And if there are some ongoing ones, I would like to take a look.
Do you mean trading events like events organized for people who trade cryptocurrency? If so, I could say that those meetings could actually help; they can help you have a network of people with the same interests as you.

Learning is possible in such events, but not so much; the knowledge shared is usually the basics, or something slightly more than the basics but not too in depth or advances especially when it is a free event.
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some athletes bet on themselves despite the huge consequences? on: September 04, 2024, 05:00:42 PM
We've heard many stories of athletes being suspended for life for betting on their own games. Yet, despite the risks, some of them keep risking everything.
It is human nature to disobey and break rules and just like you see in this forum where plagiarism is heavily frowned against and there are numerous warning about it, there are people still who do it thinking that they will not get caught. It is the same situation that athletes find themselves trying to cheat, thinking that they would not get caught with their actions.

On this issue of athletes betting on themselves or people related to them, betting on them, I think it is something that sports will always be faced with.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Draftking fined $19k for a player's $0 win after 20,000 spins on a slot game on: September 03, 2024, 11:22:04 PM
Meanwhile after Draftking has refunded player who were affected a total of $23,909, the state gamming regulators slammed a fine of $19,000 to Draftking and another $3,500 to the game provider
I support the fine on Draftking because it is possible that they knew and just decided to keep mute about it since they were not the ones loosing. Casinos should also be conscious of when customers are loosing too much, because that also is not a good image for the casino.

Meanwhile my personal question is, are slot games really provably fair?
They should be probably fair, but you cannot vouch for some casino's because they are lacking in reputation. This is a reason you should always consider gambling in reputable casino's first before you trying out new platforms.
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2025 Qualifiers - CAF. on: September 03, 2024, 10:39:46 PM
Augustine Eguavoen has been selected as the new head coach of the Super Eagles and will lead the Super Eagles in the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers. Augustine Eguavoen will be assisted by the Enugu Rangers head coach "Alongside Ilechukwu" and Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede. The assistant head coach will help the Super Eagle in their crucial encounter against the Benin Republic and Rwanda....
I already said this news about Eguavoen yesterday, maybe you did not bother to read through to the latest before jumping to write yours.

During the last game they played under finidi George, one of the issue was that most of them were reluctant to come early to camp which affected how well they trained before the went on against thier opponents.
Maybe Nigerian players respect foreign coaches more than the indigenous coaches, we will see how Eguavoen will handle this team through the games. I am not expecting them to win the games though.  I feel like there is too much drama in the team for the months after the last AFCON for the players to feel and have that team cohesion. The season in their respective leagues have just started, no player wants to get injured.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2025 Qualifiers - CAF. on: September 02, 2024, 11:43:25 PM

@OP, you should have resized your image to something like this; it is too big.

Then, on the topic you raised, I feel that every person is entitled to their opinion, and for Yakubu, Drogba is HIM for him. Personally I think Mohammed Salah is better because he's not just a goal scorer but also a creator and has remained a constant threat all through the seasons that he has played in the Premier League.

According to reports coming from Germany, Labbadia has reportedly rejected the position of head coach of the Super Eagles.
Augustine Eguavoen has been selected to lead Nigeria in the important games we have this month on the 7th and 10th against Benin and Rwanda. I am scared because he has failed Nigerians before, in 2022, when we could not make qualification for the World Cup.

What do you think?
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rollbit.com 🦁 Fantasy Premier League ⚽ Discussion Thread [0.15+ BTC] on: September 02, 2024, 10:26:05 PM
the idea is to save up 5 free transfers and spend them as needed (but trying to have all 5 in stock in the future).
Save up 5 free transfers you say…!
Is this some new trick or something,,, perhaps some new transfer rule that am yet to be let in on.
If you choose not to use your free transfer, it accumulates for you each week, and if you choose to use WC, those free transfers that you have accumulated will remain and be rolled over, but for the week where you decide to use the WC, no free transfer will be given to you.

Can someone correct me if I am wrong.  Roll Eyes

So if you use the WC and have good players, you should be able to accumulate free transfers for a few weeks that you could use.

DISCLAIMER: You all know this is my second season in the FPL; follow my advise at your own risk Grin

79  Economy / Economics / Re: No point to own real estate now or buying or dealing before reset system on: September 01, 2024, 11:58:35 PM
Property is still needed and this is a need that will always have demand.
For as long as shelter remains one of the basic needs of humans, real estate will always be a profitable investment.

One thing that can affect the profit is government policy, which may be unfavorable to real estate investors in some countries. Another thing is when you are unfortunate to invest in a disputed property, a property under investigation, or a property in a bad location.

Lol. I woke up this morning thinking that everything would be fine (considering I wasn't Haaland's captain).

But I didn't expect my captain to score 20 more points than Haaland (surpassing Haaland's hattrick). 17  Grin
I cannot say I regret Haaland's captaincy; I never expected Manchester United to be that poor against Liverpool, especially with all the new additions to the team by Erik Ten Hag and then the home advantage. Luckily, I got some vice captain points from Salah.

Ten Hag's decision to keep playing Rashford is forcing Garnacho to the right wing, were he is not very effective. Garnacho playing from the left is always likely to score. If Ten Hag had started Amad, the game would have been different for Manchester United, their attack would have been more effective.
