I don't think it would be necessary to even try this. I would think that most financial services companies are aware of bitcoin and are already doing their research on it.
yeah in this case it's me but I want to do a preso on it to introduce and explain it to the rest of the staff. I'm not looking for any freebies here, I've got some info already put together. I just wanted to know if anyone thought there were specific good videos, papers or news articles that should be included that I may have missed.

From my understanding of the ability to inject non-financial data into the blockchain, it would make sense to filter this "junk" out to guarantee the integrity and efficiency of the ledger. Sure, it's on my personal git repositories as the "spamfilter" branch - merge it to whatever you're normally running. I am putting together a session to introduce Bitcoin to a company doing financial analyses. I was going to use the intro text from Bitcoin.org faq but what other key things should I include. Looking for any key articles or videos that do a great job at explaining Bitcoin to both new users and to those with Quant and Financial backgrounds.

On a brighter note - 7 blocks & counting...... That's great. Now if only it was usable by smaller miners. I was squeezed out. My node is empty because all of them had the same hash rate or me (1.2 TH/s) or lower, and couldn't get any shares. There are few things more frustrating than waiting 18 hours for a share only to see it roll off in 24 hours without a block. M Not to sound harsh, but mining in general is not going well for small miners. This doesn't appear to be a p2pool problem, but a general bitcoin problem. It's the nature of the beast. I'm doing just fine on a "conventional" pool. M I don't know what you are talking about, I am getting great results on p2pool. I get around $40 a week on 400gh/s. I think that's pretty good. I got $40 only overnight. I thought even with higher pool hash rate and less shares you still get the same overall because you get more frequent smaller payouts. Over time (and for smaller miners perhaps a great amount of time) p2pools payout should always be about the same, and often better as shown in the recent pool comparison thread. As your hashrate represents a smaller % of the global pool variance will increase. There are plenty of small miners that have mined successfully on the Coin Cadence node, it just takes great patience to wait for the share, and then hope a block is found while its valid. Today is a great example of a huge payday for a small miner with a share in the chain... Its also not hard to look back and find a relatively long period of time where they may not have had a share and may have gone a while without payout... The data is there for all to see and you can look up my address on blockchain to see how I've done on p2pool over the last 4-6 months. My original hash rate up until about 1 month ago was only 230gh/s now it's 430gh/s avg. If you are considering mining on p2pool or leaving p2pool, check out the returns I've had. my ~$500 worth of mining kit has paid for itself (excluding power costs) already.

how small are you talking about? I understand you need minimum 50gh/s now to get into a payout. I have ~450gh/s on p2pool and it pays out well. around $30-40/week.

This actually cost me more than $50AU. I have two of them and do not need the extra. I don't have a meter that runs 15a so can't give the power factor on it unfortunately.

Well there's a pretty big difference between 80+ and 90+, especially if it's almost fully loaded and running 24/7. Well I forgive your laziness too The best I can find is that these PSU's are very efficient at high load at around 99% but are more like 80-90% at lower loads. Forgive my laziness, but what is the efficiency rating on this? Price seems pretty low unless it has bad efficiency.
Not sure of exact efficiency but my understanding is that dell server psu's are 80+ rated

Pinout has been found and unit can be hard powered on as well as control of the fan speed. Rating is 2100Watts, 175A 12v rail. Noise is medium, not as much as a server in high heat mode but a little more than an adjusted 2950 psu. You could run 5 Antminer S1's off this! all you need is a yellow 12v automotive spade connector crimped to either nice thick 15g power or pcix power connector. Really easy install. very similar to the pe 2950 psu. Power is a 20a c19 plug but you could run it off a 15a or even 10a socket if you wanted and you keep the load low. Edit: Makes me wonder how much better p2pool would be if it was also in C++......
c/c++ are much better suited to the task than python. Python may be quick for development but p2pool has outgrown it. I toyed with the idea of rewriting p2pool in c ages ago but it's a veritable bootload of work. On the other hand, I may find a way to hook something like p2pool into my ckpool code or vice versa. I suggested rewriting an alternative p2pool based on C++ over a year ago when I first got tired of the lack of development: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=213051.0but was unable to find anyone to do it at the time. I also got chastised for even suggesting it..... I'm also wondering if Bitmain are using python for the version they're working on, but don't think it will come out for a while yet, if at all. It is a crapload of work ck, but if you get the urge......I'm sure there are many p2pool users here who would be more than happy to help you out - as well as make it worth your while..... Can't think of anyone better to do it actually. Hells yeah, I would love to see it written in c/c++ then it can be compiled for a native windows service. (yes I run windows servers). It would likely make it more accessible to other devs to contribute as well.

(yes you could run this off a 10 socket as long as you don't exceed the amperage). This is what will run 2 x s1's (maybe soon to be s3's) and a 30gh/s bfl single. overkill yes but that means the psu will be nice and cool and efficient.
