I only have two ants but I have the refresh set at 1 second. since the update to 3.3 I get every second response only 1 of 2 responded.

Try setting the display delay to 0.

M

do you mean the refresh every: or Display refresh?

Currently I have refresh every 1 seconds and display refresh 0

Nearly 4Ph/s! Are we starting to bitmains hash from this new cloud service?

Email verification not working? Tried 3 times now........
Working here

Bitmain are going p2pool BIG time..... Grin Grin Grin

Seems we might just have found our new devs...........

This is pretty big for p2pool!

This sounds very exciting. I eagerly await the open source release of your p2pool development.

Hey all,

Been away on holidays and been lurking here to see what's going in. Just a quick Q, I have a miner on my node that has almost 100% DOA. IS that going to have any negative impacts on my node?

I am starting to wonder why there's a Bitcoin Foundation at all. I haven't heard them doing anything other than participating in drama. I write Bitcoin news regularly and ... the Foundation doesn't appear all that often in my research. Plus, the one time I contacted them I got nothing. I see more Bitcoin advocacy and evangelism from Bitpay and Coinbase.

it's just a marketing thing. We need someone out there selling Bitcoin to retailers, companies and individuals. It kind of sells itself but having someone there to assure people of any concerns will help grow Bitcoin even faster.
One foundation, many associations, thousands of individuals, it all achieves the same thing.

I am seeing payouts a little lower but more of them. lately I've been very happy with payouts from p2pool using around 240gh/s. Just echoing above comments that you should not panic because you are seeing lower expected payout, you will still see as much per day on average then you did before.

I have some small heatsinks that would fit the DCDC, do you think it would make a small difference in efficiency and DCDC stability?

it should help with keeping them cooler and running with less errors. go ahead and do it. I've got them on all of mine and it runs 406mhz all day long.

Any thought if that would help the DC-DC issue the early S3's have? cool em down and maybe you can pull a bit more juice from them?

possibly, Bitmain tend to under spec those parts to save money. I considered sourcing some higher rated ones to overclock the s1 further, it's getting to the limit of my electronics knowledge though.
Put it this way, it couldn't hurt them lol
171  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: July 24, 2014, 01:05:36 AM
S1s will do this, especially as they get old. There is an auto S1 restarted somewhere on the forums which will monitor and auto reboot any S1s that go down.

I think it might have been a heat issue. I blasted it with air and mounted it a bit different so the fan was less obstructed and it seems to be solid, for now at least.

I found that when getting a bit hot and overclocking that i'd get logs like that.

173  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: July 16, 2014, 09:33:07 AM
Used an IP scanner and now trying to connect via wifi in case that's easier - the miner is only about 2 feet away from the router.
IP scanner is giving the IP address as 192.168.1.99 (Paragon technologies - I assume that's the one).
Should I try temporarily changing my IPv4 address and Default gateway?  If so, what settings should I use.  I've already tried a few without success.
Whenever I try to use chrome after changing IPv4 and gateway it just says "can not connect to the internet."
I've tried just about every combination I can think of - and have even disabled my firewall for 15 minutes just in case that was interfering somehow.
I'm about to try to connect it to my son's PC upstairs and see if I can configure it there - not over optimistic at the moment though.
Change the ipaddress of your PC to 192.168.1.10 then plug an Ethernet cable to the ant. Then browse to 192 168.1.99. From there go check the IP assigned to wifi and revert your PC back and use that address to connect.

I like this way of doing it as it lets a miner see how lucky/un-lucky they currently are displayed as an "effective" hash rate. The total of all miners on this tab will always equal the global pool rate as reported by p2pools /rate...

I wont be able to play around with the 7 day luck until thursday, I'll report back when its updated, any other suggestions are always welcome...

yeah I like that too, but I have my local cgminer/bfgminer showing me more acute hash rates. both can be useful, you just need to remember that network hash rates are more of an average hash rate over a certain time.

Over 1Ph/s!
We've been flirting with the 1PH/s rate over the past week.  I've seen it go up to 1.1PH/s, then down to 450TH/s.  Right now, I show 743TH/s.  What really needs to happen is that the pool rate drops to like 50TH/s... the share difficulty drops to like 250k... I get about 1000 shares... then we shoot up to 2PH/s and solve 10 blocks in a row Smiley
Haha but the value of each share is adjusted anyway when that happens right?

Thanks, Norgs, your antminer tweaking tips, I have set up pseudo share as you have them there but not really seeing any difference to what I previously had. It has only been running for 16 hours since I did it.

What results were you getting with them?
The pseudo shares are only applicable if you have other miners on your node and they seem to just smooth out the graphs a bit too.
178  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Guide] Dogie's Comprehensive Bitmain AntMiner S1 Setup on: July 14, 2014, 12:46:55 AM
Does anyone know the spec on the Antminer S1 antenna connector?  I can't find a definitive post.  Is it SMA or RP-SMA?  Or something else?  Thanks.

Seems like SMA

yeah sma, I used my spare ones off my Asus access points and it is the same as a juniper firewall. pretty standard.
179  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [600 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: July 14, 2014, 12:45:19 AM
Am I the only one seeing less shares lately?

That's how it works when there's more hashrate.  The share difficulty goes up, so the number of shares you get will go down.  That will affect your payout.  However the pool should get more blocks, so it should even out.

(Share difficulty is currently at 3.1 million, the highest I've ever seen it.)

M

Yeah, one of the downside of p2pool hashrate going up but it should even out as m says with more blocks found. there were two just in the last 12-24 hours.
