Payout 329310 sent Smiley

hmm I didn't see this payout come through. I'm sure I had shares on that block.

Node is seeing a few orphans, will be working on reducing those.
63  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: November 10, 2014, 09:02:35 PM
Guys, I have low getblock latency, Matt's relay, plenty of bitcoind peers and a handful of p2pool peers yet I'm seeing almost 50% orphan shares. What could be the issue?

I would try and find some closer peers and add them with -n when starting p2pool...

Only 2 of your peers are under 100ms away, the others are much further:

"218.16.212.194:9333": 335.9999656677246
"115.70.176.17:9333": 14.999866485595703
"178.63.18.3:9333": 312.999963760376
"59.167.237.19:9333": 31.000137329101562
"198.72.112.205:9333": 226.99999809265137
"73.20.171.64:9333": 233.99996757507324
"58.22.92.36:51905": 359.9998950958252
"92.251.43.47:1138": 383.00013542175293
"185.59.16.32:9333": 296.9999313354492
"95.154.200.216:9333": 289.0000343322754
Yeah that's because the server is in Australia. Not many peers to choose from nearby.

In other (more on topic) news, we hit another block!  Grin

Well I would mention that Windows 10 is available for free and is quite easy to install and run VM as an Enterprise version is available as well, BUT,  it would seem that because these are preview versions that there is an outside chance that Microsoft has a key logger included...............

Outside chance?  I think it's well documented that they are recording EVERYTHING.  I wouldn't use IE10 outside of a brief look in a VM.

M
Well documented? Do you have a cited source for that statement. It's well documented that MS have an opt out for the customer experience on all of their products.
They are one of the safest companies to use in regards to your privacy if you are comparing them to Apple and Google.

No, the last block took about 35hrs. There was 7 blocks over about 4 days though. The one before that took about 4 1/2 days.
ah yeah that's true. it just feels like 7 in 24 hours haha

actually we did 7 in 27 1/2 hours first of the 7 was block made 2014-11-07 06:44am  last of the 7 was 2014-11-08  10:18 am
Awesome, see I wasn't that far off after all. Smiley Go ckpool!

Thanks mate, will have a play through the week.

Wow, i had been jumping between my p2pool node and here but i'm staying here now.

There are 2 git folders html and pool
html is the web folder.
If you read index.php (which is only 1 line of code) it should be abundantly clear where pool goes Smiley

The web/db side of the pool is not designed for the non-technical, on purpose.

ok so i see that, looks to only work with db version. I wondered if it could be a way of seeing proxy stats. i'm guessing standalone proxy (-A -p) you wont get any stats other than the logs. i might have a go at getting the db set up.

Edit: ohhh of course i need to move pool to the web directory lol
73  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [P2Pool Sydney Node]Norgz Pool BTC 0% fee Matt's Relay on: November 07, 2014, 08:36:06 PM
I just joined your pool too... Showing support, love and good faith.  Smiley
Welcome aboard, the node is performing well now. Getblock below 400ms and we have two clean shares. The server is on Microsoft Azure in the brand new datacentres they've just made available.
I'm still merge mining namecoin but I doubt that will mean anything.

I'll post here before doing any maintenance and will look at adding a second load balanced node for guaranteed uptime. It's hosted on some free credit that I have though so trying to keep it below that and hence keep the node fee free.

Please do not hesitate to post here if you need anything.

Out of interest if you are mining here could you post a quick trace route?

ok so firstly, my linux skills are not as good as my windows skills, i've compiled ckpool and bitcoind. i am trying to set up the web interface, i point apache to the http directory but get forbidden. apache works with default site so config is good. i have chmod 755 on both http and pool directories.

What am i missing?
75  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [P2Pool Sydney Node]Norgz Pool BTC 0% fee Matt's Relay on: November 07, 2014, 02:45:53 AM
Node back online on higher spec server.
76  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [P2Pool Sydney Node]Norgz Pool BTC 0% fee Matt's Relay on: November 06, 2014, 09:30:29 PM
I actually have just over 1th/s but have had it on kanos pool. The share diff on p2pool has been so high, a victim of its own success.
I'll point my hashing back at the node later today again.
Namecoin is the only coin worth merging, the rest are so dead in the water its not worth even running them. I used to mine devcoin and ixcoin as well.
I run the node because I am interested in p2pool and believe in it. I also run the bitcoin node to keep the network up especially in Australia.
If I ever hit a namecoin block then I wil consider keeping it to pay for pool maintenance but honestly I don't think that's going to happen anytime soon.

Hi Norgz,

Im ur man with just under 2th running on ur pool, If ur wondering why things have been bad since yesterday i broke my 200gb download cap on telstra nbn...

My speed is capped for another 2 days after that it will b back to full crank so i dont think u need worry that your pool is on the fritz, I just cant down or up the work quick enough!
Ok cool, well it'll be back up in the next hour then i'll point my miners back at it.
78  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [P2Pool Sydney Node]Norgz Pool BTC 0% fee Matt's Relay on: November 06, 2014, 05:38:29 AM
Node offline due to too many bad blocks. moving to higher spec server.
79  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: STOP BUYING MINING HARDWARE on: November 05, 2014, 12:01:25 AM
Personally I buy my hardware cheap and run it on cheap power. For me I have ROI'd on 2 S1's and now have 2 S3's. I should ROI on those in about 2-3 months.

Mining can work but you need free or next to free power and you need to buy hardware 2nd hand from miners who have given up, spent to much and desperate to get rid or have mined something and ok with selling at a loss.

New hardware is a mugs game, i don't know how anyone could ROI on new hardware costs.

Is there a way to plot this to a db and chart hash rate over time? It could be a flat file/nosql db but would be handy to view the stats historically.

Not currently.  My pool monitor has that, just not by worker.

M
Since this is basically complete in functionality, could I put in a feature request for that?
