401  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Difference between afford to lose and can't afford to lose. on: February 16, 2024, 12:19:23 PM
What you can afford to lose is the extra money, and what do you consider extra money? When you are earning money, you make a budget for each thing you need to do with your money. Put aside the money that you will use for overall monthly expenses, put aside the money that you will use for savings, put aside the money that you will save as emergency funds, and if you still have something left, that is what you can call extra money and you can afford to lose it although it's not necessary to do that.

If you are not saving money, have no emergency funds, and aren't even fulfilling all the requirements of your expenses and gambling with the money, that isn't money you can afford to lose even if you are earning it.
402  Economy / Economics / Re: Another war in the Middle East could be dire for the economy on: February 16, 2024, 06:58:33 AM
Over the past few decades, the rise of terrorism around the world and the power and economic competition between developed countries have intensified overall inflation. The way of superpower countries are exercising their power with it, the less developed and developing countries are suffering extremely financially. Those countries suffer from severe inflation. In the past decades, the world has seen several wars and its terrible consequences are known to all.
Oil prices are up due to recent unrest in the Middle East. And oil is one of the tools for the economy of the world.

If this warrior situation is not calm then what is the worst course for the people of the world.
Looking forward to thoughtful feedback. How Bitcoin can help in this case. I think Bitcoin is the strongest currency in the world
It is not just war in "the middle east" honestly, any war anywhere in the world puts the situation at a tough place for the whole world, and that is the problem. We should realize that when two nations fight each other, it is not just those two nations that gets impacted.

Look at Ukraine vs Russia war, that is not in the middle east, but from USA on the far side to Japan on the other side, and many in between, many nations felt the impact on it, could be for giving money to one side, or could be not working with the other side, it has been dealt with. So all in all I have to say that it is going to be a tough situation and we should remember that we are going to end up with something that should focus on what we could do on the long run.
This is such an emphatic way of thinking and what the world needs right now. No matter where you are from, and no matter where a war breaks out, people feel the need to pick sides. Like for example this Ukraine vs Russia thing, why do I have to pick a side? Can't I just want peace without picking a side?

Could I just dream of a world where Ukrainians and Russians living like brothers and sisters? Why do I have to be called a dreamer? Not like I am going to stop the war otherwise, I will not be able to do anything anyway, so if we do nothing, then why not do nothing while wanting the best? Same goes for Palestine and Israel, whatever outcome it happens, however it happens, can't I just want them to all love each other? Why is that too weird for people to dream?
403  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: February 15, 2024, 01:35:22 PM
I hate it when I lose a bet because a team fails so miserably. I mean don't get me wrong, when I bet on a game that I know there is a risk, I am fine with it but it has to be like a team worked hard and still lost. I have wagered against big name clubs too before, so losing was normal in those cases.

But, when I see a team like Bayern, who should get the win and still lose, because they lacked the effort, that makes me feel furious. They didn't even try, they have been horrible, the yare just broken. I mean at this stage I am starting to believe that the Kane curse is actually very real, it looks like he is not that good at all, and it could be very dangerous for the whole team as well. Look how terrible their results have been in all competitions since he joined.
404  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you quit gambling for a friend? on: February 14, 2024, 04:38:31 PM
I am not a regular gambler instead I only gamble for fun and yeah some chance to win so there is no way
that I needed to quit gambling because of anyone as i am a controlled human that will never fall from any bad gambling effect.
Much more if someone is severely addicted, they are less likely to quit their habits for the sake of someone else because they are mostly selfish and can care less on the people around them, especially if it was only their friend but if it was their family there might still be a chance that they will change. IDK but quitting gambling with a friend can sound like dying for a friend, but who the fuck they are or how special friends are for us to do that?

What I only know is that friends are usually the ones who can influence you to do a bad habit and this is the reason on why our parents are angry with us and they want us to stay away from our friends.
405  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Viewpoint of a fan gambling on: February 14, 2024, 03:39:10 PM
When I saw a survey indicating that the majority of voters chose the player that only a handful of experts expect to win over the player that has proven to be more dominant, it blew my mind.
Many people hesitate to invest in Bitcoin because so-called economic experts like JP Morgan CEO, tell them that Bitcoin is bad and dangerous, so, I don't find it strange that people follow experts when making bet instead of following their own logic.
I think that's not the main point of the OP but it's about choosing the less favoured teams, and @OP, some of these teams can still be our favourites and we still can end up choosing them which is great even if we lose because at least our loyalty for them is still there. As for Bitcoin, the coin won't be as big as today if what you are saying is true.

It's one of the proofs that experts are not always experts or right about their claims, so we should not be afraid to follow our selves. I won't say if what our heart or instincts are saying because that could be lacking of technical and fundamental analysis but we still can get lucky with our decisions sometimes.
406  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who is buying like me on: February 14, 2024, 03:04:33 PM
Bitcoin Etf approval brought joy to our faces, yes another win for bitcoin, then how much more would the next halving bring,  right now all I'm doing Is buying, I was DCAING gently before, but right now no one hold me, no more gentle buys, cause right now I'm pumped, I'm dancing for the bull run, I wasn't part of the last halving cause just recently started my bitcoin journey and I can't wait to brag about beign one of the next bull run partakers. Start buying 🦾
There is nothing wrong with making investments and doing DCA, just make sure that you are not being irrational with your investments and investing more money than you should because even if Bitcoin is proven to be profitable in the long run, one isn't supposed to invest money that isn't supposed to be used for investments because the cryptocurrency market is highly unpredictable and it might not always go the way you might have been expecting it to.

Let's suppose you have invested money that you had kept for some emergency, thinking that the market will go up and you will withdraw the money with some profit, now if the market goes the other way and your investment goes in loss, you won't be able to withdraw the money before it recovers and sometimes it can take some time before it recovers.
407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A student investing in bitcoin? on: February 14, 2024, 01:19:04 PM
I'm going to ignore the posts of users saying that you have conflicting posts in your post history and stuff and respond to the questions you've asked and the situation you've put up here whether it's true or not.

First of all, it's a good thing if you have enthusiasm about Bitcoin and Bitcoin investments and that you are interested in it, and it's pleasing to know that the youth is going in the right path, somehow, since you mentioned that you've heard students discussing Bitcoin and Bitcoin investments.
However, since you said you work very hard for your studies and teaching job so that you can bear all your expenses yourself, which means that you are not earning more money than you need for your expenses. In this case, I wouldn't recommend that you make investments in Bitcoin or anything, you also asked whether you should invest your savings in Bitcoin or not, I wouldn't recommend doing that too unless you understand the risks involved.

One should only invest money that they know they aren't going to need anytime soon because there is no guaranteed timeframe for you to get profit from your investment in Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency.
408  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If I bet big I lose, but if I bet small I win on: February 14, 2024, 03:34:37 AM
I feel like that's happened to me a few times too, and because those moments are so frustrating, they stick in my memory more than big wins do. It's quite common for some people to test their luck with small bets first. But when we increase our bets, things often don't go as planned.

Encountering situations like this is pretty common in any type of game. What's even more painful is losing a big amount of money on sports betting with just a x1.1 multiplier. That's definitely another frustrating aspect.
Lol, it's so relatable. I have experienced both myself. When you are playing gambling games and have a small amount as your base bet, you see that you are winning most of the bets and your balance is increasing slowly, but as soon as you increase the bet size, you start losing more bets and soon after that, you see that your bankroll is almost over Grin. It's so frustrating but there is nothing you can do about it other than accepting your fate and continuing.

The second thing you've mentioned has also happened to me. I still remember I was making a bet on a sports game, it was cricket, so I knew which team had been performing better, so I placed my bet on them even when the game was underway and they were having a lead, my spouse suggested that I bet on the opponent team because they will win, but I didn't listen, the odds were 1.1:4 I believe, and I chose 1.1, and surprisingly, the favourites of the tournament lost the game, lol Grin.
409  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: February 13, 2024, 06:02:04 PM
You must have watched Galatasaray in the Champions League group stage, right? They were really impressive in a group with quite challenging teams. The general results weren't like they expected maybe but they had a really competitive look. They have lost Boey in winter transfer window who was one of their best players. But their squad didn't change too much in this transfer window.

I think the best betting option for this match is Galatasaray @1.70. I don't expect Sparta Prag to get a surprising result considering the quality difference. I would have even expected Galatasaray to have lower odds.  Sad
Don't underestimate Sparta Prague, they might be an unpopular team, but they're currently the best in their own domestic league. Ziyech is still injured, he's one of a lot contribution in Galatasaray, this definitely give Galatasaray become weaker than usual.

Sparta League might be just looking for a draw because the match hosted in Galatasaray's home.
Here we have this problem mostly peoples underestimate teams which are not popular but still I have feeling this is going to be one of the toughest game in this round because Galatasaray is also not easy team with their recent performance we can expect good challenging game between these two and prediction is surely not easy while any team can win and most chances home game could be good advantage like which team will be play better can go through for the next round.

Sparta is also having good experience; Galatasaray which is facing some issues due to few injuries surely try his best for staying into hunt for the better result in both leagues few days back they have leading spot in Super League which is good for them with a moral booster for their players.
410  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 13, 2024, 05:49:53 PM
Wemby is not getting the attention he deserves at Spurs, the players are just not passing him the ball and that's going to ruin them. I heard someone talk about how it resembles the first year of Lebron, every other player was angry that this 18 year old kid got all the attention and they have been at NBA for a long time and not getting the same attention so they disliked him for it and didn't pass him the ball as much as they should, which resulted with them not being as good as they could be.

You know what happened to those people? They got either waived or traded away and their stock value dropped like crazy, if you can't play with Lebron, you can't play with anyone else. So the current Spurs players who do not pass to Wemby? They will be low minute players and then retire.
411  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: February 13, 2024, 05:16:43 PM
No, you are completely wrong. Gambling has always been for men. I do not think that a woman can bet an amount of money unlike a man and can control herself in difficult moments and focus more than a man. We may find a woman betting because she loves gambling or because she only has money and it has nothing to do with if she is more capable to win than a man.
If we talk generally, women tend to have more patience than men, it's a fact and everyone will have to accept it. A woman bears so much pain when giving birth to a child that it's almost equal to breaking 20 or more bones all at once. So, we can have an idea of how much patience a woman can have and how much she can bear. That being said, I would say that a woman might be able to gain more success than a man in gambling if they show patience and self-control.

However, women tend to be extremely emotional and weak when it comes to mental capabilities, which means that they might have enough patience to stick to what they think is right, but they also have very weak mental capabilities to understand how they should react in certain situations.
412  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make use of what you disliked because you can't stay away from it. on: February 13, 2024, 04:42:03 PM
So can anyone force you to make use of what you don't dislike?
There is no forcing in that, they didn't tell you that you can't make a withdraw or have at least some funds in your account until you can get your account blocked and they just said that you need to wait for 90 days before you can request an account deletion which is completely understandable because it's their policies which you probably didn't read them before joining the platform and it's our mistake if we don't read their terms and conditions and policies and stuff before joining because they have all these things mentioned in them.

Now, since you have already withdrawn your money successfully, you have nothing to worry about. Just don't use the account anymore, even if it's not deleted or blocked, you have nothing to lose, so just let it be.
413  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a habit of tracking your gambling progress? on: February 13, 2024, 01:30:24 PM
I only track it occasionally, not often or even rarely, I track it just for fun, how much I spend gambling and how much I win, maybe once a month or so, I feel tracking is not very important except for achieving account status goals and targets that must be achieved if there is a promotion, otherwise, I will ignore it
The thing is two ways, for me, because sometimes, due to ranking up in the casino aiming VIP level, I always check my amount of wager to know how far I am progressing and at some point how much of the total wager that I have done in total.
This is what makes me check the amount I have spent in total and how to monitor my spending s to not overdo it sometimes, this method has helped me alot to know when to stop or continue to play or even make new deposits, this is what makes the most of sense to me even though I am not gambling for the money but for the fun, but as long as I have the plan to rank up, it doesn't matter.
I don't get it, how can you know the amount you've spent in total and monitor your spending by just looking at the total amount you've wagered when the total wagered amount doesn't show the amount you've spent but the overall bets you've made? For example, if you have deposited $50, and made 4 $10 bets on the dice game with 2x odds, you lost the first bet and then won 3 bets and now have a total balance of $70. You make 11 more bets, win the first 2 bets, and then have a loss streak and lose all your balance.

Now, if you look at the total amount you've wagered, it will be $150, why? Because you have made a total of 15 bets worth $10 each which is equal to $150, how much money did you deposit? $50. This means that you can't determine how much money you've spent so far by looking at the total wagered amount.
414  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours is the best time for a gambler to last while gambling? on: February 13, 2024, 11:18:23 AM
I don't waste too much time gambling, maybe I'm someone who gets bored easily, usually I play only 30 minutes and a maximum of 1 hour, I don't last long in gambling, but I once spent almost 3 hours gambling because the game was exciting
That's the point, it depends on the level of excitement and fun one is having while gambling whether they will spend a lot of time on it or will close it down very shortly after starting. I don't gamble for very long myself, mostly because I'm not that lucky and I lose my budget very quickly because I don't play around a lot and make my bets quickly while trying my luck and having some fun, I might play with odds here and there if I'm playing games like dice.

So I believe a person, unless addicted to gambling, wouldn't spend long hours in front of their device playing gambling games and one gets bored after a while if they are not enjoying the game. It mostly gets boring if you keep losing some and then win again and that process continues without much excitement like big wins and stuff.
415  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: February 13, 2024, 06:59:23 AM
Not really necessary have to lose before getting profitable in bitcoin investment, I think if you good knowledge and learning more step in trading you don't need to lose first before get success in bitcoin trading. I think bad educate by every one had much experience in trading when sharing to the beginner must lose before becoming success earn profit in bitcoin investment.
If the beginner have good knowledge and understand well with investing in bitcoin why have to lose? actually experienced will be good teacher but not necessary get loss to earn profit later.
But don't fear losing or getting risk with bitcoin investment when price dropping, you need keep controlling your self for believing bitcoin price will bounce to higher price.
That's the thing, most people don't gain enough knowledge before entering the market and when they enter without ample knowledge and lose money, some will simply leave the market out of frustration and anger and others start making assumptions that they cannot win before losing in their cryptocurrency investments which has no reality at all. You don't need to lose money to learn something when it's already available for you to learn but it is your choice whether you want to learn it the easy way or the hard way.

If you have enough knowledge about trading and all the trading techniques and practices, you won't lose money when you enter the market, but if you do it the other way, which is to simply have your capital and start trading, you are most likely going to lose your money.
416  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: February 12, 2024, 06:54:09 PM
Mavs are not "getting better". What they need is a dominant big man to play with Luka to be fair, if they watched even just a bit of Lukas games, and I do not mean the scouting department, I mean the coaching stuff, then they would know that he plays amazing when he has a superb pick and role partner.

And I am not even talking about hall of fame level player, he just needs an all-star level big to play with him. Instead, what did they do? They got him Kyrie Irving... That makes no sense to me at all. Right now they are not getting better and as long as they keep this team and squad around they will not win any rings and Luka is the type of player who could be best player in a team that won the ring, so he just needs the squad to catch up to him.
417  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: February 12, 2024, 03:46:33 PM
OP, I never think of gambling in online or offline casinos. But a few days ago my desire to gamble in online casinos was awakened. But I tried to get an idea from one of my closest friends to gamble in online casinos. Then I found out that in online casinos, gambling is not safe. Then I instantly changed my mind to not gambling at these online casinos. Basically I prefer to bet on cricket and football games. Because I have enough knowledge about football and cricket game. But before I place the bet I think that I can definitely win the bet on today's match and get good profit from the bet.
It seems that there is a desire within you that makes you want to try gambling at online casinos. But after you think about it, you change your mind about not betting at online casinos. This is a normal thing that gamblers encounter when they start gambling and that feeling will usually prompt you to gamble at a certain casino. And when you are in the casino, some whispers say you can win so you immediately start gambling. But the reality is that you don't win but instead lose, but that doesn't alert you, and instead, you continue gambling while saying that your win will come after the next few rounds. But the victory doesn't come and ultimately frustrates you because you don't get the win. And that's what happens to many gamblers so they continue gambling.
The urge to gamble has a different meaning for people with different financial backgrounds and capabilities. If you come from a rich family and your financial capabilities have no limit, the urge to gamble would only be to get some entertainment because you can't think of winning more money from gambling when you already have a lot of it.

On the other hand, if you are from a poor or middle-class background and you don't have much money, the urge to gamble will mostly be based on hopes and dreams of winning something significant and possibly changing your life for once.

A person would also have different emotions based on how they see gambling and their reactions would be based on their emotions.
418  Economy / Economics / Re: "Shrinkflation" is coming back as a narrative on: February 12, 2024, 02:59:02 PM
To be perfectly honest, the whole shrinkflation thing started when companies realized that they can't keep the product the same and just increase the price based on inflation. This means, if you make something go from 40 to 60 and then 60 to 80 and then 80 to 100, eventually at some point you will fail to sell, but if you just drop the cost then you could keep the price the same, make more profit, and keep selling it because people will keep on buying it.

The inflation reached a point in the world right now that I have literally zero clue how am I suppose to live. Like at this point, my income is lesser than my expense and there is no possible way for me to make that work, it's impossible for me to make any other way, it just can't be done. So this is why if any company increases the price, I would just stop buying it.
419  Other / Off-topic / Re: Having a regular/steady income is important as a gambler. on: February 12, 2024, 02:28:32 PM
Well, here I go to my point, and that is that there are people who have an income thanks to gambling, although it is a little more difficult to be steady and regular, but playing poker for example, if you play cash it is more regular than if you play tournaments. What I'm getting at is that some people's income is poker, or sports betting. But for most of them it is a complement, an extra income and it is important to have another stable income to be able to afford expenses. Apart from that, good bankroll management and good personal finance management in general is also necessary.
I'm not sure about poker players as I don't have much experience with it myself, but I can say that it's true that sports bettors have some income if they do thing properly. When you have knowledge and experience about a certain sport and you know how sports betting works, you can make some money with it if you do everything carefully because you can only bet on games that you are confident about to play it safe and you will eventually have more wins than losses this way.

Regardless, I wouldn't recommend someone rely only on sports betting as their primary source of income because at the end of the day, it's gambling, and we know how unpredictable gambling can be. So, as you said, it's better if people keep these things on the side and have primary sources of income.
420  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there play and pay later casinos? on: February 12, 2024, 10:52:52 AM
I've never heard of physical casinos playing and paying later, even if they exist, of course there will be items that will be pawned or changed ownership, except for online sites that offer free bonuses for their users, of course there are, but if it's physical gambling, I've never heard of it, except The owner of the casino really believes in his customer and gives him special privileges
A bonus isn't a play-and-pay-later thing because it is yours to have and you don't have to pay anything for it, though most of the time, gambling platforms don't give bonuses for free and you will need to complete a certain requirement to be eligible for specific bonuses. So, you can't say that online casinos provide this thing because I have never seen or heard of an online gambling platform that allows its gamblers to gamble first and pay later for the losses.

A casino would never take such a risk unless the gambler is ready to give them something as collateral and get money equivalent to the value of that thing so that he can gamble with the money and if he loses the money, his property will be kept by the casino until he returns the money.
