Haven't been around in a couple weeks.

Any update with when we think they will ship?

August is still the delivery target / expected delivery time -- We're still waiting for Xilinx to let us know when the first boards will be off the assembly line.

Something seems off if you are hosting with Mineority and the product is some place outside of the the EU I do not see how they can get away with charging VAT.  Something is wrong with someones understanding of how this should work.  This needs to be challenged.  If you had the product shipped to you in the EU then certainly you owe VAT, but for a hosting service?  That isn't right!
No it's not right.
But they aren't budging. Which is concerning.

I've offered refunds to those EU orders who submitted support tickets regarding the issue. If you'd like your order refunded let me know send an email to sales [at] fpga dot land.

We've received our development board today!

We'll be getting videos / info out soon on Lyra2z hashing.

Is lyra2z finished? What are the hashrate and power consumption?

We're getting there

105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Dwarf FPGA – the anti-ASIC on: June 28, 2018, 07:21:51 PM

I was hoping this was real and we'd have a lot of innovative fpga based products coming to market.

Are you thinking that product specifications of 7 kH / s 10 W are possible? Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

They hadn't yet posted specs when I merit'd them. It's not impossible, but the numbers are a little too good. Could have been a case of overly optimistic performance/power estimates.

will there be any difference in bitstreams available if we host at mineority vs taking delivery and running at home?

ie will mineority hosted fpgas have access to special bitstreams home hosted fpgas we got through allmine will not have access to?

Not that anyone has told me. Mineority would certainly be able to do that if they wanted.

No i think you will have access to all bitstreams, hosted or not.  In any case we have 2 months minimum to wait, so far maybe 2-3 algos will be available.  Speaking of orders, sent btc but never received a confirmation other than coinpayment, would be nice to get an email saying you received my sweet, sweet bitcoin.

Send in an email to sales@fpga.land or check the 'my account' under your fpga.land account and see if your order is marked paid.

108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ALLMINE INC - FPGA Cryptominer on: June 23, 2018, 01:01:37 AM
What happens to all orders that got cancelled today? Will you reopen additional units for sale or how are you going to distribute released goods?
Personally, i didnt have enough time to gather funds and my order was cancelled before i got an opportunity to send money.

Well, the issue is that my order got cancelled as well but my wire has been processed already and i really want two cards... I'm not sure WTH is going on.
My order was cancelled as showing cancel on request from buyer.
Is that the case for you as well ?

We've cancelled all orders that were still marked unpaid. This was mentioned in the email update we sent out 2 days ago. We haven't had orders open in over 7 days which has been enough time to complete the payment. There do appear to be a few orders that slipped through the cracks that we're taking care of. In the case of those who ordered but did not already send, it's too late to send. But you can still order units from mineority.

I did just answer a big batch of support tickets and your name I remember, so... get back to me..

Something with your reconciliation is very messed up.  I received two confirmations from Jessica that payment was received.  Now when I log on to FPGALand, I see order #1141 as voided and I don't even see the second order.

Should I PM you?

No, send in an email to sales [at] fpga dot land so I can get the issue properly addressed. We sent out an email last week asking everyone to check their orders. We sent out an email 48 hours ago letting everyone know we would cancel unpaid orders.

thanks, trying to catch up on where this ecosystem is at now?

The short and sweet of it is... A bunch of us have been doing this privately for the past year or so on leased machines. We were using private tools and private bitstreams. It became public knowledge with another developer making a long post about it. That allowed / forced us to go public about and we started trying to put something together that would allow everyone to benefit. We've managed to negotiate a good deal for access to chips from Xilinx and now we're trying to rapidly develop the ecosystem surrounding the cards so all of the software tools, support structure, etc is there. We've released a bunch of our private code that we've been using (urls below) and we're working on developing more professional software and tools (aka stable / well written) tools for community use.

Update:

For those of you who purchased your fpga through us but wish to host with mineority will be given the opportunity to do so. We'll send out an email and update with details when we have them.

112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: the RISK of FPGA mining on: June 19, 2018, 06:12:30 AM
@Sensless, im a big fan of your guys work. This will really change the future and we will have a really low power consumption for people around the world. Im a hobby miner and im paying 0.3$ per kW and this is really sad, im not making much profits but i love it.
The price of a FPGA is a lot currently so i cant afford it. But im sure it will change in the future.

Please dont get mad of this comments here on bitcointalk. There are a lot of douchebags that even dont know how hardware works.
Just keep the good work!

Thanks, I can be a "little" dramatic trying to make a point sometimes. There's a lot of FUD circling around and these FPGA can be a source of good for the community and tech as a whole. I think once the coin developers start to realize what is possible on their coins by specifically targeting these devices things will change. I'm not speaking of proof of work (hashrates / performance), but actual useful work that can be accomplished.

Even if we did swap 10 million gpus over to 10 million fpgas reducing total power consumption by 1.5GW and yes, we've lowered the gap between ASICs and average miners; But, we're still spending 1.5GW doing useless/meaningless work. It's power enough for a small city and it's being used to prove it's being used.

I think that's also a good idea, but is there anyway where this can be done remotely, yet at the same time secure enough not to have the key exposed?  (I'm still at the infant stage in-terms of knowledge of the tech)

Unfortunately not

114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: VCU1525 (FPGA MINER BOARD) - $3,000 to $4,000 on: June 19, 2018, 05:35:02 AM
so what are the algo provided for now? all the available minus new one right? also this group buy or whatver is intended for european only or usa only? because there is customs to pay for us

I'm working on EU manuf to deal with the VAT issues. It's not going to be a problem for me to ship worldwide. I shipped a couple of FPGA boards recently internationally. The requirements weren't what I was expecting. But, for EU customers, I'd like to ship from the EU.

No algos are available yet. I believe whitefire will release his first one on 5/30. You'll have to check his thread.

Any way to make it easier to have this manufactured in China and shipped to HK?  Cool

No.  The cards need to be flashed with the encryption keys before they go to the customer, and Allmine/senseless/GPUhoarder are not going to send you the keys...

Of course they are not!  But I don't mind them coming over and I can take care of the accommodation given that senseless might already be within the area (correct me if I am wrong!)  Cool

After we ship we'll plan some sort of service allowing people to pay for shipping to send us their card and have it fused.

Btw, just to refresh it.

Sorry again for meriting the OP. I can't believe in 32 pages they weren't able to prove they weren't a scam.

116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ALLMINE INC - FPGA Cryptominer on: June 16, 2018, 01:24:33 PM

Update:

Sales have closed. It may take some time for all of the wires to come in and for your orders to be marked paid. Once we've processed all of the incoming transactions we'll send out an email asking everyone to verify that their orders are marked paid correctly.

You can check your order status in your account history.

117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ALLMINE INC - FPGA Cryptominer on: June 15, 2018, 05:06:08 AM

I also don't have time to backread the entire thread. Is there any difference in models/versions of the two VCU1525 ftcain posted? $3600 from $47534 is a great variance even with a group buy in place. More than 1000% less actually. Would appreciate a response since orders are still not closed anyway.

We've negotiated pricing with Xilinx to provide the boards to the cryptospace through order volume. Our board was rebranded from VCU to BCU because it will contain modifications and changes to it's revision that won't be present on the VCU. We're working with the manufacturers to get that done and make sure the cards are fine tuned for mining. We are burning the efuse with a security key that will allow us to securely distribute bitstreams from community developers. Effectively protecting the developer from the customer, and the customer from the developer as the developer does have the potential to destroy a board with a bad design (intentionally or unintentionally).

Just today we've dumped large amounts of code that were months in the making.

You should read through the thread.

Update:

We've dropped a bunch of RTL code on the community to expedite development of designs for mining. In addition Sprocket was kind enough to do the same with his code.

When is paypal method is gonna be available

It's not. They requested some additional documents we won't be able to provide until after sales close. We will be able to use them for future batches though.

The orders that have gone through PayPal are still good right?

Yes, if paypal doesn't refund your transaction you're good. If they're requesting information from you call them and provide it.
