All "placeholder" payments removed, these small payments will not be honored by avalon and/or walletbit. You should get a refund per their announcement, contact walletbit if the address you paid from is non-refundable (mtgox, etc). Please see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140738.0

THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL "AVALON" THREAD! WE CANT HELP YOU WITH YOUR PROBLEMS. THIS IS JUST FOR ORDER TRACKING.

1022  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] Batch #2 pre-Sale Thread on: February 02, 2013, 03:37:12 PM
For those of you who completed the orders: How?! How did you even manage to add stuff to the cart?

I think I was one of the first who managed to get to wallet bit. I got the incorrect order amount, but had the URL stored in history. Eventually after enough refreshing wallet bit showed the correct amount and I paid it.

I have yet to receive any emails, and I opened a support ticket to be sure my order counts. I'm sure they'll probably release some public info about this at some point though.

YAY I FINALLY GOT TO PAY FULL PRICE!

Did you guys get an email or anything?

1024  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] Batch #2 pre-Sale Thread on: February 02, 2013, 02:50:21 PM

even walletbit is lagged out
1025  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Avalon ASIC] Batch #2 pre-Sale Thread on: February 02, 2013, 02:18:54 PM
ya know... you don't need to keep refreshing the avalon page... just keep refreshing this thread.. as soon as you see no new posts for 30 seconds, you'll know the order window is open Smiley

ANd by the time you order your unit they're sold out lol

#1331  1x 72gh/s waiting for refund since Jan 6

Moral of the story, don't pay in bitcoin if you think you might ever want your money back. Got cash back from my credit card orders 24 hours after filing a chargeback with my bank.

edit: order status = refund requested

1031  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bad news for bASIC - not shipping til mid Jan at best on: January 15, 2013, 07:28:46 AM
I wonder who will be replacing him in this picture after they haul his ass off to jail.  Hopefully he takes good care of your family.
Calm down.  There isn't any evidence that Tom is not making a good faith effort to refund every order.  If he was running away, why would he refund $200k of orders, wire more money to the merchant account, and pay some employees first?

I requested my refund on Jan 6. I have not received a BTC refund or a CC refund. I have sent numerous emails to multiple email addresses, and have even CC'd the potential investor on the most recent ones. I was told by dave I would receive a refund within 24 hours on Jan 11, and have not heard a word since then (and of course no refund has appeared on my MC, or in my BTC accounts.) To make sure he received my messages, I even sent dave a number of PM's in the forum. I'm pretty much just being blatantly ignored. People after me (who requested refunds after Jan 6) say they have received them.

Order #1331 & #1723 .... Waiting.....

Funny, whenever someone requests a refund with my services I send it to them within 24 hours, and typically within an hour. C'est la vie? *shrug*

Edit: My BTC order #1331 is "Refund Requested". My CC order #1723 is "Ready to Ship".

Edit: Also, these were all sent from gmail. So unless gmail is broken, there is nothing wrong with my email.

Edit: I submitted my paperwork for a chargeback on Jan 14.

Edit: these were all ordered on btcfpga, not the newer bitcoinasic website.
1032  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC not shipping / change of owership / refunds etc. on: January 15, 2013, 07:19:54 AM
Yep, actually got the refund this morning when it seems my bank woke up. Honestly I am very happy that they seem to be at least responding and refunding still.
Imo still bASIC is simply a problem ridden company and not a scam. If they get their shit together I absolutely would purchase a unit.

Ya it would be really nice. I still have not had my refunds processed since Jan 6. I'm still "Ready to ship", after dozens of emails to all sorts of email address. No reply since I was supposed to "receive my refund within 24 hours" on Jan 11.

1033  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC not shipping / change of owership / refunds etc. on: January 14, 2013, 05:31:17 AM
This whole argument is kind of moot since people aren't getting refunds at all.

Should have received a refund last week. Requested a refund on Jan 6.

Several members of this forum have reportedly received refunds already.

Been waiting for mine since Jan 6. People after me have claimed to have received them.

......

Also been waiting since Jan 6 and nothing. Although it does say "Refunded" on the order information page, my money has not shown up sadly.
Hopefully it is just held up over the weekend? We shall see I suppose.

If your status is refunded then your refund was processed. It will probably show up on monday or tuesday in your account.

My status has not been changed to refunded (signaling that it has been refunded/processed).

3 orders, 1332 (1x btc), 1723 (2x cc).

And I've sent 6 emails 2 and forum private messages. Was told I would receive a refund in 24 hours on friday. One my orders says "Ready to ship (cc)", while the other says "Refund Requested". So either I've just pissed him off some how so I'm not getting a refund, or I don't know.

Hello,

I have placed 2 orders with you. I would like to cancel one of those orders.

Can I please cancel and get a full refund on order #1723 for 2,169.98?

Dave,

Please cancel this cancellation. Cable pair finally posted something in the forum. That's all I wanted. It's bad when the main guy just disappears.

I repeat, do NOT cancel my order. Thank you

Thanks

Dave,

Since tom announce the sale of his ownership of btcfpga, I would like to request a refund for all of my orders #1331 and #1723 for a total of 3239.97$

If you would like you can refund it all as USD to my credit card. I believe my first order was paid for via BTC. However, if you would like to refund the BTC on the first order please let me know and I will give you an address to send to. The address I sent from no longer exists.

Hi Tom - yes we can only refund CC orders back to the credit card for the amount they were charged for.  So can you send a payment address for your BTC order?  Thanks - refunds to be processed shortly.

1035  Economy / Computer hardware / Auctioning 1x bAsic preorder! on: January 13, 2013, 08:05:19 PM
Auctioning 1x 72Gh/s basic preorder!

Bidding starts at 1 Satoshi!!! Order #1331

Winner pays me, and receives unit on the "guaranteed shipping date" in "sometime in march". I will update the shipping to reflect the shipping information you give me.

Let the bidding begin!!

Edit:

I paid in bitcoin so it will be no issue to update the billing info.

I will include free over night shipping w/ free saturday delivery (if it's shipped on a friday) anywhere in the WORLD!
1036  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC not shipping / change of owership / refunds etc. on: January 13, 2013, 07:59:38 PM
This is irrelevant. The price of the product (to buyers, and on the material end) is USD. If Tom or BTCFPGA decided to take the risk of keeping the income in Bitcoin, that risk - and any potential gains/losses - is his.

No Luke you're wrong. It is his choice and his risk as long as he is able to deliver what we - the customers - paid. If he never delivers ASICs it's a speculation on the back of his 'customers'. If the BTC price is rising Tom wins, if the BTC price is falling we are loosing. And now it seems that all customer who paid BTC are screwed independant of the BTC price. Tom should have exchanged those funds to USD and maybe spent them to create this damn bASIC chip and not speculate on rising BTC prices!

With this new information the only acceptable choice would be a full BTC refund, a bASIC device or to let him burn like hell! The last point seems to be the most realistic one.

This whole argument is kind of moot since people aren't getting refunds at all.

Should have received a refund last week. Requested a refund on Jan 6.

1037  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC not shipping till end of March on: January 08, 2013, 04:50:48 PM
but it seems that Tom is getting a bit more heat than deserved

Because the bar is higher. We expect what we get from BFL, we do not from bASIC. I've got units all around the board, with BFL and bASIC. I don't even check the BFL forums anymore because I know there will be no information. But, I expect information when I go to bASIC site due to the transparency that was promised and provided up to november.

1038  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: If I have 3 ATI 6900 cards at $0.11 KW/h is it worth mining with them? on: January 08, 2013, 04:08:38 PM
Oh, I have 3 6990 cards.
then you should be mildly profitable, but not an a very fast speed. Any futher steps you can take for reducing your electricity cost or the power use from the mobo/HDD/CPU/etc would make the profit marin better
What are a few basic moves that can be taken? It's just a barebones open case rig with Mobo, CPU, ram, and gfx cards running win7, nothing else installed. I also downclocked the gpu mem speed.
Undervolt! Lowering the core speed by a tiny bit and undervolting can result in huge power savings, while only costing you a small amount in hashrate.

undervolt the cards? Is there a recommended amount to do it by?

I was running my 4x 5830s at 0.99vcore w/ roughly stock core frequency and mem clock @ 300 (i noticed hash rate started slipping if i went under 300).

At 0.10$/kwh i was making like 60$/mo of which roughly 30$ would get spent on electricity. I decided it was not worth it and shut them down. Still working on my Stratix IV FPGA dev board trying to get it mining (without much success).

Is the card 100% operational? What happened to the power supply that comes with the card?
Can you do 80BTC? Ship to texas. 1/3rd coins before shipping, and 2/3rd coins on receiving the card.

I bought it used myself. The card only came with the card itself. The card is 100% operational and was originally pulled from a working environment when I bought it. When I got the card the dip switches were set to be powered from the PCIE bus (the card was pulled from a rackmount server). I did get an appropriately large power supply (80w) and was able to successfully power the card from outside the case and communicate without issue via the JTAG port. I used it to test some AES encryption/decryption routines, but I found a better (and less expensive) solution for my needs.

If you would like, feel free to contact me and we can arrange something so you can login remotely via VNC to check out the card if you'd like.

I would want 100 btc and if you're unwilling to pay upfront I'm sure we can arrange some sort of escrow.
