301  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] PSU for BFL Bitforce 60GH/s Miner on: November 27, 2013, 03:41:31 PM
What do I have to search for? At least 31A on the 5V rail?

Is BFL offering spare parts?

your 60Gh/s use 2 pci-e plugs like gpu use and Single use around 300W power.
Well, I have a PC psu (550W) here but only offeringn ~20A on the 5V rail. Couldn' t his be a problem?

BFL's run on 12 volt. Not 5 volt. As long as you have at least 25 amps free on the 12v rail, it should run happily. My 50 GH miners only use 200 watts each (16.6 amps)

Should be getting my blades today from USPS, as well as required networking equipment and 1 power supply from Fedex. The other power supply... Ugh. The ebay seller had an unreasonable handling time and shipped it out WEDNESDAY when I ordered it saturday. I'll be sure to complain, since I had called them and urged them to ship it by monday at the latest since it was for a time sensitive project. They said it would be going out that day. Nope. 6PM on Tuesday, after the deadline for same day shipping, so it actually got mailed on Wednesday. I'll have to screw around with my second spare power supply and get it up and running. Anxious all the same though!

Maidak, I haven't ignored your email. I'm just waiting for the equipment to show up and get it working. In my defense, you did state on the website free shipping for orders over $99, but I was a pain in the ass because of the whole backplane thing. I'll partially reimburse you for shipping after all the equipment is up and running.

He sent me a picture of 3 cards, and claimed to be in Canada. I sent payment for 2 cards last night.

you were scammed
304  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Improved FAN PLATE SET for BFL SINGLE's on: November 25, 2013, 03:59:39 PM
Wow, that is very unfortunate. Sad

Guess I'll be running my BFLs without the case instead.
305  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Recomended ASICMiner Blade + backplane case/installation? on: November 25, 2013, 12:50:10 PM
They are no longer cheap. I happened to pick them up just before a price increase, because of overwhelming demand. The seller honored the lower price though.
306  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Have bitcoin mining hardware you want to sell? Lets put it on bitcoinminerz.com on: November 25, 2013, 12:49:02 PM
Another progress bump. Got 4 tracking numbers (It was established that 5 ASICMiner blades would fit per Large Flat Rate box. He also only uses flat rate boxes). USPS projects a 2 day delivery time. Pretty quick for free shipping. Will keep this thread posted.
307  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Have bitcoin mining hardware you want to sell? Lets put it on bitcoinminerz.com on: November 23, 2013, 06:04:19 PM
Little bump here. The OP definately seems linked to the website bitcoinminerz.com. I was asked to go to their live chat (why didnt I see it earlier?) on the main page. We talked for a bit, worked out some of the details. He'll call me later today hopefully to flesh out some more of the details. So far, seems legitimate. Will keep this thread updated on my experience.
308  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Recomended ASICMiner Blade + backplane case/installation? on: November 23, 2013, 04:15:42 PM
So I picked up a bunch of ASICMiner blades cheap, asked the seller for backplanes, seems sure that that backplanes will be shipped with them, so I ordered some 80plus platinum rated 1200 watt "Common Slot" power supplies, model HSTNS-PL11, part number 438203-001, since they seemed to be compatible, and I like insane electrical efficiency.

Now my question is, what can I mount this in? I know they will need active cooling, so I figured I need some sort of frame that will attach a number of fans to the same frame of reference as the blades. Not sure how many fans I'll need, likely 3x2 120mm in a push pull configuration, but thats aside from the original question. What can I mount all this junk in?
309  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LocalBitcoins.com - Unfair dispute handling on: November 23, 2013, 11:11:44 AM
They did not adjusted amount. You are forgetting that they charge 1% Fees.

1% fee would be 12.87 BTC, down from 13 BTC. Why would the admins be scamming like this? This makes no sense. If everything is correct, why do the admins not release escrow? Are they butthurt that they got called out?
310  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB: BFL 50/60 GH Singles and/or KNC Saturn/Jupiter on: November 23, 2013, 09:57:50 AM
Paypal. LOL.

I'm not really sure why this is a big deal.  I've bought all my other mining equipment for bitcoin as well as scrypt mining through paypal purchases.  Some guy told me that paypal somehow means scam, which makes no sense, because if I sent bitcoin to some random person on this forum and they didn't send the items, what would I do?

I have no problem doing escrow either - but my point is I am not sending someone I don't know a currency they can scam me of.

Thats why you dont trade with other newbs. They have no background here, so you don't know if they are scammer or not. People with older accounts here tend to be more trustable, especially if they have positive trust ratings in their profile.
Also, it's not possible to escrow paypal. You can chargeback through an escrow. Sellers don't like Paypal because the users will abuse the system and chargeback on anything and everything possible.

Hi. Do you offer 1 day shipping? Priority isnt fast enough >.<

Also, do you think you could give me some support setting them up? I've been in the mining game since july 2011, and kinda want to get back in. If I were to get back in, I'd probably buy 10 or 20, and I'd probably want backplanes, and maybe power supplies and fan recommendations.

Of course I can offer 1 day shipping it will cost a little bit extra and i'd be more then happy to help you with support I can't sell a product without at least knowing it thats part of an online store right? the customer service is #1 priority in any business if it wasen't for them you wouldn't have one. You mention backplanes so I'm going to assume you want block erupter blades?

Hi, sorry for not instant reply. I also left a phone message and on-site email. Yeah, I was interested in a largeish order of blades so I was working on the idea of using backplanes for mounting and power delivery (if I can figure out what power supplies to get that is.. would be nice to find something 80plus gold). I also registered on the site and tried using the coupon code btctalk656 on there but says "Warning: Coupon is either invalid, expired or reached it's usage limit!". I trust the site since it's allegedly yours and you have a high trust rating in your forum profile, but I want to make sure I get everything I need to start mining again, even if it is with sub-optimal hardware.

Also, sorr yfor stupid question, but I wanted to make sure. You have blades in stock, right? They aren't a pre-order?

You can either cancel the transaction and eat a negative rating from your buyer.

or

You can ship to a possible scammer, but you won't lose any money because ebay and paypal will protect your money since you will ship to a confirmed address. Just make sure your terms of sale are good, i.e. no returns, guaranteed working, DOA protection 12 hours from the point of signature, something like that.

315  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Blade Erupter Help! on: November 22, 2013, 01:36:17 PM
If you are talking about physically cutting off and disconnecting wire from an old power supply and using it in place of whatever wires on the blade erupter power supply, yes, you can do that.

If you are talking about connecting 2 power supplies to the same chain of blades, you will have a bad time. You will effectively be linking the grounds of both power supplies to each other and linking the +12v of both power supplies to each other. If either of these have a voltage difference, bad things will happen and power will flow to the lower potentials unrestricted.
316  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 50 Block Erupters with 49 port hub on: November 22, 2013, 11:12:00 AM
why not price it in USD or euro?  bitcoin price fluctuating by several hundred dollars a day doesnt really lend itself to being used as a currency

but the bitcoins it mines becomes more or less valueable as exchange rate goes up or down. If you bought this for ~$1000 dollars and received it, then bitcoin tanked to $10 right after you received it, you'd be pretty pissed, wouldn't you? On the other hand, if bitcoin went to 5x the value after yo ureceived it, seller would have been screwed and lost a lot of money.

Bitcoin prices for devices that make bitcoins is probably best.
317  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Improved FAN PLATE SET for BFL SINGLE's on: November 21, 2013, 11:21:03 PM
I think I am selling them for about the original wowe price.  The link is gone now.

Let me know when you do that. I could use some fan plates. But please, price it reasonably. No gouging.
318  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] some GPU's on: November 21, 2013, 11:16:44 PM
Will vouch for Blazedout419. He should not require an escrow, and is safe to send coins to first. If you have a problem with that, find someone else to scam Smiley

It's a scam. Never pay irreversible method for ebay items. Otherwise ebay won't help you if it's a scam.
