Unfortunately, I'm using my Xpower II in my main PC. Sad

Did you ever try shorting PCI-E presence pins?
1203  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7 card motherboards? Newegg refurb on: September 05, 2012, 01:32:09 AM
So far the best I found (and bought) was the MSI Z77A-G45, which has 7 PCI-E slots. Unfortunately, when it comes to the 2 PCI-E 1x slots that are by each other, if you put a card in one of the slots, the adacent slot turns off, so it is essentially a 6 slot board.
1204  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: So THIS happened (burnt mobo pins), what should I do? on: September 01, 2012, 10:14:24 PM
After a year of running 5x 6950s, with the cards powered off of an OCZ 1250w and the mobo/cpu off a CM 500w, the ASUS P5N-T Deluxe refused to boot. Then I found this:

Obviously 5 cards was too much power draw from the 5 un-powered PCIe x1 ribbon cables.

I have some spare 4-pin molex connectors, is there a mod that'll let me connect power to the PCIe x1 riser cables?

I also have an identical board that was DOA, so I'll be re-sodering the 24pin ATX socket this weekend, but I'd like to make sure it doesn't happen again too.

Here is a good you tube video how you can prevent this happening on motherboards with out added molex connectors to supply 12v power to the PCIe lanes.

You say it doesn't require adding molex, but that device is opposite what you said; it requires using an extra molex. It's just a "neater" way of adding a molex to supply extra 12v power. Unfortunately, it requires using an extra pci-e slot and some of us don't have extra pci-e slots (we're mining on all of them)

For what it's worth, loadrs2009 is an illegal botnet owner. It became blatantly obvious when his program was named "scvhosts".
1206  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Statistics For Radeon 7870 Please? on: August 31, 2012, 07:39:27 PM
0% stale? I'd like to know what pool you're mining at please.
1207  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining with a 5970, and crashes... on: August 29, 2012, 08:54:09 PM
looks like you're cpu mining, not gpu mining. get your drivers and opencl installed correctly. also maybe you're litecoin mining, not bitcoin mining
1208  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 5970 strange behaviour (artifacts/undervolt) on: August 29, 2012, 08:51:36 PM
You're pretty much fucked. Almost no 5970 are under warranty anymore, and if you manage to get one to send in, you'll likely get a 7970 back. Either mine the card into the ground at whatever settings you can get it stable at or resell on ebay and pass it on to the next poor sap.
1209  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 1000w PSU, Asrock mobo and other items... on: August 29, 2012, 04:40:58 AM
Buyer beware, PSU is not 80plus certified, and mentioned only 80% efficiency. If you are concerned about electricity, look for an 80plus silver/gold/platinum, but if you need to power cards immediately because of bitcoin rallymode, then buy it quick!
1210  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Having a bit of difficulty deciding what hardware to get on: August 27, 2012, 09:57:33 PM
Wait, you recently mined a complete block from cpu mining?

You should play the lottery, because with luck like that, you would be a millionaire in no time.
1211  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Payment Not Delivered by "R-" for Work Rendered on: August 27, 2012, 09:02:34 AM
I'm sorry, but some of these scammer threads are really amusing. I /popcorn'd at the pictures.
1212  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB:Broken Graphics cards... or working on: August 27, 2012, 03:46:19 AM
I have an ASUS reference model 5870 I bought new last February. It makes a clicking sound when running, and the noise gets louder and faster as the fan speed increases. I think a fan bearing is just loose or broken; it might need a new fan. Other than that it works and hashes fine; I had it overclocked and got up to 425 mh/s. I'm asking $100.

1213  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Looking for pictures of an 8 GPU setup on: August 27, 2012, 02:56:11 AM
I have 4 5970's in a single rig, which is 8 GPU's. Uses approximately 1040 watts at the wall, using a single PSU (rosewill lightning 1300W. 80plus gold). Using Windows 7 x64, driver 11.12, sdk 2.1, bfgminer 2.7.4, phatk kernel, vectors 2, worksize 128, 10 intensity. Having no problems once I weeded out the bad riser and found one of the GPU's doesn't like a certain memory range. Core speed of each GPU is fine tuned and maxxed, any higher and it causes driver resets. If you're looking for a picture of the physical rig itself, it is the one in the lower right in the second picture.

Did you try shorting pci-e presence pins?
1215  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: [ENDED] Countdown to radeon 7990 on: August 26, 2012, 08:17:56 PM
I want four of these in quad SLI.  Because Crysis.

*orders dilithium crystals for antimatter PSU*

1) These (and other previous gual-GPU cards) only have 1 CF connector. Means only 2 cards (4 GPUs) in a system.

2) How were you planning to fit 4 seperate triple-slot cards into any case? You'd need a 11 PCIe motherboard, which they don't make.

Uh,not quadcrossfire,but OCTOcrossfire (2 cores per card=8),if you meant 4 cards   Shocked

Extendo PCIE cables will get them hooked up,but the OS using them all could be a problem  Sad

Again, you can't do an OCTOcrossfire setup. The cards only physically have 1 CF cable connector!

What about hextuple? 7990 > 7970 > 7970 > 7990

Can your mining rigs do this?

sorry could not help myself.

1217  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7970 on slot 1 getting less MH/s any ideas? on: August 26, 2012, 08:15:20 PM
Same or different intensity? Also you running a monitor off 1st card?
1218  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Can you run 5 GPU's on Windows 7 x64??? on: August 25, 2012, 09:40:34 PM
Using 6 single GPU cards on a MSI Z77A-G45 on Win7 x64, 11.12 drivers, 2.1 SDK. Would have 7 but the board turns off a 1x slot if the adjacent 1x slot is populated.
1219  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Better VRM cooling for 7970? on: August 25, 2012, 09:38:34 PM
I put the thermal pad on the heatsink (press a little bit with your finger while it still has the plastic on it, but dont mush it) and put a dot of -really good- thermal paste on the hotspots to ensure a good contact. I only did this because I didn't have much faith that the 0.50mm sheet would be thick enough.
1220  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS 3 5970's on: August 25, 2012, 07:26:24 AM
If you want to use a slower kernel or SDK, then that's your prerogative. Tongue

In the meantime, I will use what I know is fastest.
