2501  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Nuevo ATH! on: March 30, 2021, 05:18:50 PM

2502  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have "$x" what shoud I buy Tweets... on: March 30, 2021, 05:04:12 PM
If they are big influencers then a lot of people will follow their moves and try to do the same. But as some users already say, they could use their followers to bump any shit coin. That's why I wouldn't recommend following them in their transactions.

For a good example of a Twitter influencer who can manipulate the crypto markets, we have Elon Musk, even a user on this forum made a bot to buy BTC each time that Mr. Musk post on Twitter.
2503  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I found a "Bitcoin" style patent, from 1997... on: March 30, 2021, 04:56:22 PM
Satoshi did have a few references in his whitepaper, notably b-money. B-money was conceptualized in 1998 by WeiDai and apparently was one of the first people whom Satoshi contacted.

I don't think the idea of cryptocurrency or any distributed currency of that sort was very new at all. There were some discussions about this during the 1990s as well, or so I've heard.

That's right, there used to be a group of people called the cypherpunks, they have some ideas about mixing technology with security and money. And I'm almost sure bitcoin is the result of his ideas. They used to communicate on a mailing list, and satoshi was a member of that list.
2504  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Mt. Gox and Bitcoin Exchanges: Did You Know? on: March 29, 2021, 04:42:07 PM
That was in all the news, and was a shock for all the bitcoin users, a lot of them lose a big amount of money... But did you know the bitcoins have been already traced?

There are some nice articles talking about where does bitcoin goes after the theft, I will leave the source for those who want to learn more about the topic.

2506  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VISA Completes First Cryptocurrency Transaction on Ethereum on: March 29, 2021, 02:50:33 PM
And this is the kind of news that bump bitcoin price... As they say, it was a visa transaction on the Ethereum blockchain, Feels like an enormous step for humanity and for economics.

The transaction was done with a stable coin called United States dollar coin, or USDC.  And this doesn't mean that all visa transactions will be this way from now, but at least some of them will come through crypto.
2507  Economy / Speculation / Re: Limited Bitcoin Supply Will Push Price to Incredible Numbers, Says Ark Invest’s on: March 27, 2021, 11:20:29 PM
That's true, the limited number of coins is what gives a nice value to it. And this is because the market is unlimited. So, with all those zeros after the point is even possible to see 1 satoshi at $1 in the next 100 years.

And is really interesting how some coins decide to have no limit of coins, a good example of this is dogecoin. And that's one of the reasons why that coin is so cheap.

So, with and unlimited market with infinite money to inject the only limit is the moon.
2508  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How can anyone block coins or transaction in blockchain ?! on: March 27, 2021, 05:59:01 PM
The issue is really weird, you mention that you already verify the transaction in the blockchain and it's there but the coins aren't in the wallet. That could mean 2 things, the node where you are waiting to receive the coins isn't updated or you have wrong char on the addy, sometimes people write address by hand and confuse the l with the I, let me put them together to show you lI... one it's L and the other its I.

Transactions can't be blocked just like that, so, my advice is... If you want to experiment use known coins, because if you use weird coins like ESK maybe it could be a target of the 51% attack.
2509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NFTs on Bitcoin? on: March 27, 2021, 05:30:59 PM
The problem with this idea is the smart contracts, without smart contracts you can't attach any digital source to a transaction. As the name says 'Non fungible token' it's based on a token, so if you can't make tokens with bitcoin then you can't take the NFTs to bitcoin.

Another problem with the idea is the cost. to register any NFT with a coin you need to make a transaction, and transactions with bitcoins aren't cheap at all.

2511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee & Crypto Scam on: March 25, 2021, 03:24:53 PM
John McAfee has been involved in multiple crypto scams, he is a genius who loves to fuck the system. And maybe he has a problem with drugs or prostitutes but he knows how to enjoy life. I just read about his current situation, and right now he is in Cuba, playing his political cards, and is fun because looks like he loves to live in places where prostitution is common.

About the scams, more than 90% of ICOs were scams, so, what's the surprise here? John see how the bad guys was making millions and he decides to join to the party.
2512  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: what do i need to learn to be a good blockcahin developer on: March 24, 2021, 10:58:19 PM
what programming languages and technical skills do I need to learn to build a blockchain? not a token
I have some ideas and want to learn how to deploy them, what do I need to learn and where to learn them?

There are two answers to your question:

1.- If you want to fork a blockchain you only need to Github and fork the bitcoin code, just a simple copy-paste, then you need to create your genesis block and after that you can run your own bitcoin, if you want to make modifications to the code then you will have to edit some C++.

here is the code for you: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/tree/master/src

2.- If you want to build applications with the current blockchain, then you need to use sockets, which means you can build your code on ruby or JS or python and it will work with sockets calls to perform tasks with your node.
2513  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's 21 million limit on: March 24, 2021, 09:56:05 PM
So, there is actually no mathematical limit to the number of coins. It's just that the issuance of coins is not subject to a central authority, but requires a supermajority consensus.

The mathematical limit is in the code. And that limit is the result of the halving. Maybe a consensus could bring more coins, but the block reward should change and the having times should do it too. Is a complex task.

I think it would be easier to add more zeros after the point than adding more coins to the blockchain, and both would have the same effect.

2515  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin production on: March 24, 2021, 05:52:00 PM
The high power required for the networks goes by hand with time... The first coins were mined only with one CPU, but now the mining business has grown too much, there are big pools with a lot of hashing power, and this makes solo mining almost impossible.

Miners have a high energy cost and there are some solutions for this, like the one that ETH will adopt this year, and that solution is to move from PoW to PoS

2517  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Meeting about Bitcoin and inviting people to it on: March 23, 2021, 08:43:45 PM
...
I started by saying that bitcoin is expanding and that big governments are looking for bitcoin, and that the price of bitcoin has grown tremendously over the last few years. But professors who disagreed pointed out that bitcoin does not even have strong backing! Bitcoin is like something that does not exist, and people leave their capital in the hands of those who control the market.
...

Those who think bitcoin does not have strong backing is because they don't understand how the blockchain works, all the machines that are involved and all the people who is ready to pay for it. The main backing from bitcoin is the beauty of maths who empowers the technology. We don't need to backup bitcoin with gold or with money, the code by itself is the strongest way to backup bitcoin. So, in other words, if you understand all the backend you will realize to things: 1.-bitcoin comes to stay with us, 2.-There is not enough money to evaluate the most expensive idea of all times.

And when they say 'Bitcoin is like something that doesn't exist' should try to say the same about the Internet or Operative Systems. Grin
2518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what you think of this altcoin for 2025 on: March 23, 2021, 05:57:24 PM
I just take a look at the white paper and I like the project. It has a nice potential because it was made to be able to handle an enormous amount of transactions in a short period of time.

For sure is a white move to invest in it now because it's really cheap and it has the smart contracts feature. So, I would say the market will grow a lot for 2025.

Is important to mention that 25% of the total supply has been mined, there are 14,375,208,612 coins in circulation, and the total will be 21,000,000,000.

2519  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will ADA and eth competitors get dumped if/when Ethereum 2.0 comes out? on: March 23, 2021, 05:49:50 PM
I don't think it will affect the competitors, i think it will affect the coins by itself. Is hard to say but we haven't seen a PoS coin that is a success, and this could bring some problems to ETH. And I think that's why we haven't see ETH 2.0 yet.

ADA is a good option for staking as you mention, but ETH will be the number 1 coin for staking in the future, at least it gives more than what the bank offers if you decide to save your money there.

Big changes always come with a big impact on the markets, and only time can tell us if this change was a good or a bad thing.
2520  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Crypto Exchange HELP on: March 23, 2021, 05:11:10 PM
It looks like you want to start a local exchange and not an online one... that's why I don't understand why you need a team for this.

For a local exchange you only need a wallet who allows you to hold different coins, a good option would be Atomic wallet, and you need a high limit account on an exchange to buy the coins you already sold and never get out of stock.

The business model is simple if you charge 5% of each buy and each sale you will end with profit.
