81  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman Fried (scam banker fraud) 25 years on: March 30, 2024, 09:07:01 PM
Serves him right, with all the investors funds that he mismanaged and made them start all over again, he should be given 50 years, so that he will not think of running any business anymore. Because such person might still come out and decide to continue to scam more people.

I just hope that other people like him would learn from him, but it seems like scammers don't care about what has happened to the previous scammers, but they will still continue as long as they have not been caught. I am happy that Justice has been done to SBF.

I love how he was treated fairly, height even do 15 years and would be reconsider, that's if the judges want to look at what he has done positively in the past and what his parent has done to help the United state. This sentencing will send a big message across the crypto space especially the so called scammers looking for opportunity to scam victims of their money, the government might not really like how things are been done here but they definitely watching and would used anyone as a scape goat to teach others some lessons.

As for the other scammers that don't care and feel they can continue to hide, there is nothing under the shadow that the sun will not see, nothing is anonymous in crypto, there is going to be an end user who will used that coin and will be traceable back to the origin of the scam and such person will be pick up without much stress. Even other centralized exchanges that are doing the same thing SBF has done would be afraid to continue henceforth.
82  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Just because some meme coin or other low Cap coin listed don't mean it's over on: March 30, 2024, 06:23:04 PM
Traders investors including myself we always looking for cheap coins a lot people are lazy its a bit of pain to operate over all those chains and Dex exchangers and presale things it's a lot more easy to buy just in exchanger.
When price is cheap people buy pay attentions to very cheap coins on exchangers because the price will attracting the buyers, just when the coin is listed on exchange don't mean the game is over If the price is low it can attract a lot buyers still the good point is also that when coin is added in exchangers the investors now know there is liquity and they can feel safe the coin will not disapere so easy.

One of the most risky aspect of investing in crypto is what you are doing and if you ask me for a honest advice, I will say that scammers will enjoy you, they will love doing business with you until you have nothing to invest on crypto again. Do you know how many fake coins that are listed on Dexes everyday just to get victims that will buy coin without any liquidity, there are many of them that are smart contract coded that you wouldn't be able to sell after you buy the coin. If you want to buy a coin, I will advice you buy a coin that has been listed on tier 1 exchanges just to be safe.

Quote
If the price are low it can attracting a lot buyers including me i will be searching those coins wich are low i'll put little money in If it goes up and it's listed on exchangers allready the FOMO and good liquity Will make it actually great Even If the project not real are some kind of scam If people belive in this and they see reason why others will buy coin after them then coin will pump.

I like how you think but you are thinking in one direction and scammers will get you before you realise it. This use to be one of the smartest way to make money from low cap market coins but the risk involved now is not worth it my friend. You will likely lose money to scammers searching for unlisted coins on the exchange. Even the coins that are been listed on exchanges are been impersonated by scammers and yet you want to consider the ones that are not even on exchanges, you will get scam!
83  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop paying money to learn trading when you can learn it yourself on: March 30, 2024, 04:21:00 PM
Personally, I prefer a paid one. Not because you can't learn for free, but if you pay to the to a genuine teacher, they'll lead you in what YouTube channels to follow, and what podcast to take seriously, and they can also be your mentor. As I always say, trading is a learning-on-the-job type of skill. When you've learned the basics and have understood everything, a big load of the job rests on you. You get better with experience and with your zeal to learn and get better.

If you want to learn trading, I wouldn't advise anybody not to pay. My only advice would be to make sure you pay the right person because there are a lot of scams out there.

Paying to learn doesn't mean you will get a quality teacher, what I think paying to acquire knowledge does is that it help you value what you are trying to achieved. For example, you want to learn about trading and you went to YouTube to get basic things from videos, if you are a kind of person that loves procrastinating, you will probably spend entire month learning just from one video but had it been you bought that course probably from Patron or Udemy, you will be eager to see what you paie for and you will want to learn from the value of your money.

Paid cource also gives you some important information you might not get for free because the person making the video might limit some information but if it's were to be a content you paid for, the teacher will take his time to give you all you need because he will want to satisfy and wouldn't want to disappoint you so that when he brings more content for sale, you wouldn't hesitate to patronized him.
84  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's happening to kucoin? on: March 30, 2024, 04:09:45 PM
Does anyone know more about this? What implications could this have on the CEX, especially now that they're targeted in the US?

They have violated the rules of US, that's what they said but I don't know why US is the most country that feel they are unique, if crypto is not fake today, they hold the centralized exchanges or they say some coins are security, sued and must pay some fine yet they have their own coinbase exchange that is working on their own soil and don't violate their rules the way outside exchanges violate their own. I just see them as bunch of people trying to get cheap scores from their government for doing the work they are employed to do.

Kucoin is a strong exchange that we think we be able to survive this. US will not just give them fine that they will not be able to pay if necessary the exchange has to pay fine.

I doubt this kind of statements, it's possible that they can pass through this difficult times but are you aware that withdrawals were delayed the day Kucoin founders were charge of their crimes? They might have been here since the days of Binance but they are not as liquid as Binance. The total number of Bitcoin under Kucoin reserve is small compare to Binance, it should be 12 times less. If anyone should have their money in Binance should remove their coin asap to avoid unnecessary stories and explanations.
85  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cutting my gambling costs to Invest some of it on the Alt and Meme Coins. on: March 30, 2024, 04:00:39 PM
Why I can only afford to invest in the highily volatile AltCoins and the MemeCoins is that the tokens are cheaper to purchase in a lot of quantities unlike bitcoin that's very expensive. Although it's agreed that one can invest on bitcoin with any amount of money but comparing the fractions or quantity, bitcoin is more quality and expensive.
So I'd only Invest on these Meme and the Alt Coins with my at stake funds supposing to be funded on my gambling. So I'd rather skip or cut my gambling stakes so that I can alternate it to Invest of the unreliable Coins which I'd also say to be it's highily risky to be sighted as gambling too.

Meme coins are nothing but gambling but I hope you know that before you gamble, you that before you gamble, you must understand how gambling works, you must have the skills to gamble and you must be smart to,understand how to overcome loss from gambling, altcoins and other meme coins are not different from these strategy. Before you buy and altcoin or meme coins, you should do it when they are in bear market, there is no way you are going to lose to altcoins if you bought them when there is not interest from people.

It's during the bear market you will get hint about a project that is dead and the ones that is still alive because the ones that are dead don't get to come back during the bull season. You should also check if the team are active, check for any possible hack if there is tokens concentrated in a particular wallets, this will help you make a good choice on the altcoins you are trying to gamble.
86  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stablecoins or Fiat? on: March 29, 2024, 03:58:19 PM
When planning to protect yourself against volatile crypto market prices, which type of currency do you prefer? A stablecoin, or a traditional Fiat currency (USD, EUR, JPY, etc)? Why did you make that choice? Would you prefer holding either currency long-term? Or crypto is better for that?

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

Just close your eyes and pick one, they are all risky to convert money into but from your list, I will go wit EUR. It has a string strong value and high esteem of demand than USD, never have I seen more speculation about EUR than I do see around USD, you don't need to fear about even the purchasing power and inflation surrounding the dollar as compared to EUR in the last few years and not recent data. I don't believe in the CPI value that are been demonstrated, looks manipulated and force for people to believe.

Why not use stablecoin like Dai if you fear the centralized ones instead of going through these options? I mean you can always move between crypto and not involve fiats all the time, you don't need to involve your bank account for privacy sake you know and in situations where you might have crypto large that you might not be able to hold in your account unless you want to be keeping the fiat in the exchange which I see as unsafe practice.
87  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is all this memecoin hype about? on: March 29, 2024, 03:47:37 PM
I just don't get it. What puts such a intense hype on meme coins?
What is the use case scenario for all this? I see a very interesting SOL project listing all these new Memecoins like Slothana or Dogwifhat
and just dont get the actual use case for it? I mean, dont we have enough memecoins on the market already with DOGECOIN or SHIBA INU?
I hope someone can help me to unterstand this  Huh

There is nothing special with meme coins, it's juts that people stop making ballistic profits from usual profits and since meme coins are the new gold in town, they don't fear to rush in to get their own share of the pump and hype. Haven't you look around and wonder what's even special about meme coins? They don't have anything special to offer than the pump and dump, they don't have road map because they don't have a product or even a chain for developers to work on, just feeding on speculations to grow.

Another thing about these meme coins is that it's the main chain developers that do give them such credit. Remember this meme coin started on Solana when they first launched Bonk and then Jupitar and because the team are among this development is the reason why the coins are having these hype and it's also helping them to recover their sol price because of the demand from meme coins buyers.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 29, 2024, 03:33:14 PM
It's a bit worrying about Manchester City's defense later and I think Arsenal will take advantage of Manchester City's weaknesses this time. The international break made the team structure quite chaotic and Manchester City cannot hope for much with the current options. But I'm pretty sure there won't be any problems as long as Pep Guardiola can provide the right strategic direction and I hope Arsenal won't be caught off guard just because they heard this news.

I don't think Manchester City lacks good players like that to guarantee Arsenal free penetration into City center back. They still have th likes of Ruben Dias and strong Midfield Rodri to protect their home. Remember this is Arsenal playing at Etihad and not the other way around, this is why I think Manchester City still have an advantage over Arsenal in this match. The international break has made some players unavailable but predicted lined up for Manchester City is solid in this match.

Quote
The match will be fierce and whoever scores the goal first will dominate the course of this match and as hosts Manchester City must do so. Mikel Arteta will probably not relax in the slightest and wants his team to play aggressively from the start. But you also need to remember that if a blunder occurs, it will make everything chaotic.

I will be happy if this match turn in favor of Arsenal, this match will help them stay above Liverpool and if they lose the match, more possibilities of Arsenal winning the league but it's not going to be an easy match this time around for the two teams. Manchester City want to win Arsenal to stay above, this is the only chance they have right now to give Liverpool a gap too.

89  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the #1 rule you live by in sports betting? on: March 29, 2024, 03:15:02 PM
We read you!

I have many that I know but the ones I practice very we are as follows:

-Never cashout: I don't know if you know about this cashout option in betting. The casino gives you a chance to close a multiple bets after many has won and left with few, they will allow you take close the bet and cashout some percentage which is going to be a win for you and the casino but the pay is usually below what is expected as full payout. I will rather wait for the remaining games to be played than allow small amount of win and I don't regret the games if they lose. I will try better next time.

-Don't bet what you cant't afford to lose: This sound underrated and not taking serious in gambling but a lot of people has died as result of this mistake. They gamble with what they need, they gamble with something that can break them down and I'm not ready to follow that path. If it's $10 I can afford to lose for that week, I will gamble it and I wouldn't mind the pay outcome. Peace of mind before money.  Kiss
90  Other / Off-topic / Re: What if an employee of a betting company misuses company funds for gambling? on: March 29, 2024, 03:08:41 PM
Do you think a betting company or casino will understand and not arrest an employee who has access to company funds and then misuses it for gambling? If this employee claims that he is battling from gambling addiction, will he be considered for a lighter punishment? If you own such a casino or betting platform, what will you do to such an employee, understanding that addiction to gambling can make people make decisions that are unexpected.

I'm not sure if a betting company will be silly to allow a casino funds to be controlled by a single person. Companies knows the risk associated with their money so what they do is they make sure that the money of the company is deposit into account with multi signature, a single person can't move money without the consent of others and any money that is move will be accounted for, that's why transparency is need by the financial secretary, every money spent most be pen down and where the money went.

Similarly, crypto casino aren't different from this, funds are kept in a multi sig wallets before anyone can access the wallet and incase any person from the company use the money for anything, it can be trace and if they found out that there is some foul play, investigation would be carried out and if it warrant been sack, that would be decided by the company. I just think of will be foolish for any person to even try such scam to his company.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does affilate programs work in casinos? on: March 28, 2024, 06:54:57 PM
I was wondering how does casino affiliates programs work.

I have a friend who is an affiliate marketer. He does affiliate programs for various sectors. For example in the health sector, finance sector, educational sector and so many. It got me thinking after he tried introducing me into it, he is trying to make me change my mind from gambling in 8 ball pool instead i should use the money to get an online affiliate course.

Am curious right now, to know how does affiliates program work in gambling. I know gambling is big niche and they also run affiliate programs, so anyhow have an idea?

What affiliate marketing is all about is to make an outreach for more customers. As you said about friend, affiliate marketing in health sector is to make an outreach for people that is needed for that particular time, for example if an hospital is trying to reach customers that has diabetes because they have the cure to deal with diabetes but they don't have the means to get customer. They can employ your friend for the job by bringing customers for them either through the website by giving him a special link or even physically. The same idealogy with education and the rest.

That's how casino works too, a casino can gives you a special link to refer customers and if they register, deposit and wager their first game, you get some percentage cut or you may even get some special offer to bring in more customers. This is how casino affiliate marketing works. If you know how to bring in good traffic for a casino, you will make money doing the affiliate marketing.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How about your experience in taking part in the same bet with friends? on: March 28, 2024, 06:39:57 PM
Wins and losses are common in gambling. Losing a bet creates a lot of human stress for many gamblers because there are many gamblers who bet such money that they cannot afford to lose.

We all can agree that gambling is all about betting with the money you can afford to lose, if you don't have the mind to let' go of the money, why gamble it in the first place? You will definitely be emotional when you lose amount that you need and depression is unavoidable if you don't have the means to make another one, this is why you should never even try gambling if you can't let go of that money.

Quote
Some other gamblers after losing betting money they become depressed. Most of the time I have gambled alone and some times gambled with friends. There are some positive and negative aspects of gambling in these two situations. I feel a bit relaxed there when I participate in the same bet with my friends. Because even if I lose there, I get consolation seing from others. At the same time there are some differences of opinion before betting which sometimes creates confusion.

Have any of you had any such feelings?

Is there less human pressure if gambling is conducted in the same place with friends?

Whether you involved your friends or you are just a solo gambler, if you used the money you cannot afford to lose, you will cry alone when your friends are not with you. You can't bet your school fees with your rich friends and you think you will have a rest of mind? You can't because the risk is high. The basis of safe gambling is when you have nothing to lose with that wager money, with such amount you can enjoy gambling alone and with friends, that's when you see your friends as motivation to make good predictions.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: March 28, 2024, 06:29:47 PM
In general, I realized my mistake and no longer made my bets while I was tired. Concentration is the most important thing in any effort we make, and we must always be at full mental strength, as there are many factors that may affect your chances of winning or losing.

I hope everyone benefits from my experience, thank you

If you are tire and you decide to bet in that moment, I think it's okay to say that the person is a gambling addicts or the person see gambling as an avenue to make some money, there is nothing that should make you want to gamble by force. You will most likely make some decision that you will later regret, the common one is not winning anything and you also deprive yourself the time to take a rest.

However, some of the mistakes you mention can be corrected. I don't know the casino that you use making your bets. This is limited to sport gambling though, when you stake an amount that is bigger than the amount you wanted to use to bet, you can simply edit the bet and amount, my gambling platform allow one to edit a bet provided that the matches has not happen, they are some hours away. But this is not applicable to wagering of money for casino, you can't make edits for such games.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized vs Centralized Gambling....Which do you prefer? on: March 28, 2024, 06:22:37 PM
it's easier said than done. All the factors are there that a decentralized casino with its system in place will be able to disrupt the centralized casinos. However, the biggest factor that would hindrance that from happening is "regulation", crypto was less or not regulated when it was first created but along the way as it gets more popular, the government came to intervent, so I don't see a decentralized casino would be popular as the government will only make it centralized to comply with the law.

You are absolutely right. I saw one decentralized crypto casino on service board asking for a review from people to give their opinion about the casino, the job was were done and I just check the casino when u saw this thread and guess what, the number of users that joined since I last visit are not up to 100, this means that customers are not coming, and when I also check the smart contract execution on both ETH and Matic, there weren't much going on, people are not playing.

In today crypto adoption, people are ready to give up their privacy for some little fantasy of the casino and ignore the bigger picture. Decentralized remains the best alternative but even the casino are not building on that, how many decentralized casino has a good user interface like Duelbit, like Stake and other popular casino that dominate the crypto space.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 28, 2024, 05:39:55 PM
Ten Hag was given free reign, and he decide to focus on young players, but apparently he did not take into account the fact that they would have little experience to compete with the leaders. Does it make sense to blame anyone now, I think not. Will ten Hag be able to radically change the game of the team with such a squard, I think that the answer will also be no, at least in the near future he will definitely not be able to achieve this.

What has this young players brought to the table since they joined the team, nothing new but few wins and many losses that is unhealthy for the club. He had the chance to sing Haaland but he thought it was expensive, he also has to sign a better goal keeper but instead he settled for Onana, now his shallow tactics has put the club in a very bad state, not in the Champions League, not in the Europa and not in the top 4 this seasons, what a failure.

Out of there 38 matches, only 28 has been played and out of that they won just  15, that's slightly above average and draw only 2 games, the rest are were losses, this is to say that they didn't minimize their loss and this is why  they are were they are right now, it will be difficult for them to make top 4 but if they do, they will earn a lot of fans respect.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we still truly achieve anonymous gambling in crypto? on: March 27, 2024, 07:28:41 PM
Crypto has been known for anonymity. During the early stage, we like to promote it using the words "decentralized" and "anonymous ", and it's the main reason why a lot of gamblers have chosen to gamble using crypto to gain full privacy, but it seems like things have really change a lot now as gamblers are looking for a casino that are licensed while some casinos who promotes anonymous gambling eventually act like a fiat casino that requires KYC.

What do you think about this one, where is are we heading? And can we still consider crypto casino different from fiat casino?

By statistic, fiat casino have more population of gamblers than crypto base casino and do you know why they were able to achieve this numbers? That's because they are government approved and also has some offices in region where they are licensed. So the gamblers feel safe using the casino because they know they wouldn't run away with their money since they are governments approved and allow to operate fully but crypto casino doesn't have this privileges even with the business numbers, they feel trapped because of the crypto hate by some group of government, the have no choice but to act like they are like fiat casino even when they have crypto options.

If you check some casino that are crypto based, you will found out that they have option to deposit through your local bank and for this reason, they have to comply with the host country for KYC because of the fiat involved and some doesn't involve fiat but they still asked for this kyc just to avoid problems like money laundering  later in the future. With all these, it will be difficult to have anything decentralized casino unless they want to operate as illegal without making any form of registration and licensing.
97  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 27, 2024, 04:18:46 PM
It's time for Mbappe to look for a new challenge to win a prestigious trophy that has never been won in his career. It is very realistic if he chooses to move to Real Madrid rather than stay at PSG which has no chance of winning the UCL trophy. Mbappe is a great player, he also has the chance to win the Ballon D'or if he can win the UCL trophy and several other trophies in the domestic league.

If he continues to chase money then his career will never develop, he must prioritize his career and create personal history by becoming a player capable of winning prestigious trophies. He is still at a very productive age, he has to choose career over money, this opportunity doesn't come twice, he has to take advantage of this opportunity to become the best player in the world.

I want to seriously see him win the Champions League because Mbape is talented to almost win the World Cup twice for France but I don't understand why you think PSG will not win the Champions League. Past years, PSG had Messi, Neymar and Mbape with couple of other good center back and they didn't win the Champions League but now with just minority of the team, they are now in the quarter final and Mbape is among the top players with the highest goal in the Champions League, if they put effort, they might have a chance.

There is nothing here that Mbape is chasing, what I'm seeing is a player that is good and there is demand from many clubs and where there is high demand for a player, there must be a high price for highest bidder, that's what football is all about. PSG has spent a lot of money on him and he is an investment to them which they will make sure they must get back what they have spent and is even the more reason why they never allow him to be a free agent, they want to sell him and not just let him go like that.
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 27, 2024, 04:04:38 PM
I'm not doubting that the UEFA Champions League will not be interesting if Real Madrid or Manchester City are knocked out in the quarterfinal. The interest in watching the UEFA Champions League will reduce because Real Madrid and Manchester City supporters will not want to watch the UEFA Champions League again when Real Madrid or Manchester City are knocked out.

You guys are making the Champions League look like the battle is only between Real Madrid and Manchester City. Wasn't Real Madrid kick out last season in the quarter final and yet a lot of people turn up for Inter, In fact a lot of people didn't want Manchester City to win, they want Inter to win so they can shade Manchester City because they feel City has won a lot and deserved to allow another team to win the Champions League and to say that Inter tried their best because they only conceded a single goal after many short on targets by Manchester City.

If Arsenal make it to the Champions League final, a lot of folks are going to turn up more than any of them because for a club that don't use to he consider as one of the best suddenly became an asset and then made a huge place in the Champions League is something many would want to see the end. I am not confidence in them but who knows if football is going to happen.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: While placing bet what comes your mind on: March 27, 2024, 03:52:56 PM
The spirit use to come to my mind whenever I want to play a bet and my mind will be telling me to increase the $5 I use to gamble everyday to $10, but I use to ignored such spirit because my daily budget for gambling every day is $5 and the moment the $5 didn't bring good results from the gambling, that is the end of my gambling in that whole day .

This voices from the head is very easy thing to deal with because I think it's normal thing to have your mind giving your some advice. The best way to deal with this is make sure that you use a tight management of risk in gambling. If you have $100 as initial bankroll, let's that be your bankroll and no additional funding should come from anywhere. If from that $100 and $10 will go to each game, let it be that $10. With this strickness and personal rules, even your head wouldn't be able to mess with you.

Most often greed is the reason why here this voices, you probably have $10 with $200 return after making multiple return and despite that having a return of $200 looks more risky, your voice will still be telling you that why not try $40 so that you can round the outcome to $800. If you do and you don't win, you have miss the opportunity to gamble 3 more times and if you don't have nothing in your bankroll, that's all for you for that period.
100  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 27, 2024, 03:41:45 PM
Personally, I would consider it fun when my budget is much greater than my losses or when I gamble with someone else's money, and this is something I would not do if I had no benefit in it.

I think there are those who agree with me and those who do not agree with me, but it remains my personal opinion and it's an opportunity to share it with you on this topic.

So where's the fun when you lose your money?

Gambling loss can't be avoided but it can be minimize, thqt should be the main motivation of gambling but I hope you know that even though money is a motivation of gambling, it's not everyone that will win because the system isn't design to favour you and beside not every gambler has the skills to win and understand gambling like everyone. If in a day, the number of people that won in a casino is up to 10, there are 999 people that lost money for that day, not everyone can win in gambling.

Furthermore, like I said, some people are not smart and skill when it comes to gambling. I will give you an instance. In football gambling, do you know that we have some people that play nothing other than straight win when there are plenty of other options that you can explore and make your ways to win. In casino sports, you can play your ways round 200 options and, in fact most the time the big wins comes from big manipulation of options in gambling; this is why I said skills and IQ is very necessary in gambling.
