181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do the juice Worth the squeeze? on: March 13, 2024, 09:45:49 PM
Hi,

As everyone knows the goal of betting is to get the largest amount of money , knowing that the risks do not change whether you bet a large or small amount, and sometimes the amount you bet with is your capital, and this drains you of your time and money, and perhaps your work and daily tasks.

Do you think that the benefits in gambling Worth the invest of your money and your time with knowing that your chances are Just 50/50?

I barely stays 3 hours a a day gambling because I'm occupied with life situation and other work and that's because everything I do in gambling isn't guaranteed, as the name says is gamble and I have other life situations that guarantees me money, not even just guarantee it's a must because I work and I must get paid for it. So I don't think the part where you say gambling worth the time is applicable for everyone, not everyone sleep in casino platforms.

I know of people that people that gamble for a living and they are living large, I have seen a guy whose is a university graduate make a retirement money from gambling and that change his life to date, he doesn't do any apart from gambling and he stake high and win high, such kind of people are what we called gifted with luck but because it happen to that guy and some few other people doesn't mean is going to happen to you, only few people make money from gambling, the rest lose to gambling platforms.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When is best for a player to draw the line? on: March 13, 2024, 09:28:23 PM
Just for discussions and ways to educate or share knowledge with ourselves when and how to draw the line when gambling,  because for some reasons, some gamblers have arrived at unstable realities because of the lack of stoppage time while gambling so let's talk.
When do you stop?
Some stop gambling immediately the record a big lose, while others continues when they lose with hope of recovering.
Some other gamblers stop playing when the win they first few games, while other continue to chase the loses, and technically ww can tell in accuracy when this things happens, but when is the best time to stop gambling and take a break?

1-when you lose?
2- when you win?

I just think that in life, too much of everything is bad. There should be days when you don't have to do anything, don't gamble, take a rest and just be yourself. In the case of playing and knowing when to stop, I think your natural instinct should tell you that you have had enough of game for that day, if you have win a significant amount of money, you don't have business in over playing because one of the problem of over gambling is another r way to lose money in gambling.

As for the loss aspect, it's very critical. You can bets like many times and win nothing and when you try again perhaps the one you have on mind as the last one can help you recover your losses. If we are to follow a simple rule, make sure that you risk a little to gamble, so that when you lose, you don't have to think over it all the time. Loss is part of the process of winning money from gambling.
183  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Application do you use to monitor crypto movements daily? on: March 11, 2024, 11:44:51 AM
Most times i Use browser and a website with charts, but sometimes its hard to find the tab.

What do you recommend for a linux user?

Are you familiar with Tradingview? That's one of the best platform that can provide you with good charts, tools and  indicators for following up crypto in real time. As long as that coin is listed and trading on any exchange, they do have any pairs it is been traded with and in addition, you get to do paper trading with Tradingview, more like demo but it's more flexible to used and offer more tools for mapping out your charts, support and resistance, trend lines, fibonaci and many more basic set up tools for trading, they also have the premium tools but I think you are good with the normal features.

You can also coingecko and coin market to follow up some coins since they are fundamentals of crypto projects, you should have access to some news, more about the coins especially the tokenomics, the exchanges and many more about the coin but there charts are too classic for trading, tradingview should help you out with those features.
184  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: WHO DOES CRYPTO DAY TRADING? on: March 11, 2024, 11:29:57 AM
I want to get into crypto day trading. It truly fascinates me. Out of curiosity, if anyone does day trading comment what crypto you made the most profit on in a 24 hour period. Please tell me what crypto and the total amount of profit you made. Thanks

People that engage in crypto trading are people that has time in their hands, people that are not too occupied with other extra affairs of life. If you think that you have enough time on you, then I advice you to consider trying it out but first of all, you need the knowledge else you will only be playing around with diffiren lower time frames without getting anything after spending the whole day sitting in front of your computer.

What you should also bear in mind is that when you open trade on daily basis, it doesn't mean that you will actually be making profits daily all the time. There are some trades you can open that might get invalidated but because it did not hit your stop loss, you have to give the trade more time before you get the profits for that particular order, not every day profit is guaranteed even with multiple opened trades; there are days bitcoin will go sideways and squeeze the market leaving alts with no profits.

Please use a protective glass for your eyes if you want to be a daily trader, it will help you protect your eyes from screen light. Constant eyes on computer or phone have it's own side effects in the long run.
185  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Need help trading. on: March 10, 2024, 10:02:44 PM
As a student, I've saved up to $500 and am now looking for a means to get into trading. I understand that $500 is not a good starting point for some traders, but I want to use it throughout my learning process. The problem currently is that I don't even know where to begin when learning how to trade.

There is no other way out of this than learn and experience. You should visit Binance academy for learning the basic but don't depend on that alone. Put it together with YouTube trading channels and practice them, reading alone isn't enough to take you anywhere. Don't use your money yet, try and learn how to use demo accounts for trading else you will blow up that $500 before you even realize.

Quote
I'd appreciate it if you could provide me some helpful suggestions on where I should go to gain the expertise. I've seen several people professing to give good signals, and in the few months I've been here, I've learnt not to trust them because they could be scammers or don't know how to conduct decent analysis

Avoid signal groups for trades, you can follow them for ideas and how some of them expertise their charts but not a signal, your idea should give you confirmation of trade, the stop loss and when to exit every of your trades. Most signals are scams and wouldn't even tell you when they close some trades.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good or bad idea saving every penny on crypto stable coins on: March 10, 2024, 09:50:47 PM
Sometimes I begin to imagine instead of transferring my money into the bank to keep for a number of days or months before usage in form of savings that nothing will add up instead it remains stagnant or the bank charges me even more. Is it not better I save them on a stable coin such as the USDT?

Please what do you think? Will I end up losing my funds one day if I do so?
To me I feel it's good way to save.

Please what's your opinion on this?

The highest interest a bank is going to give you on a savings account will not be more than 4% in average, and your money will be invested into another company or given out as loan to other customers with high interest rate. As for USDT, if you stake your money, you have an annualized rate of investment at 7% maximum, and they used your money to do what they want, they can loan it to a venture capital to invest in other tokens, now with this do you really need banks and USDT? You don't because in the long run, the two of them are the same just operating under different uniforms.

If you don't have plans to invest your money, live if in your local bank and if it's going to be there on a long term levels, kindly invest it into Bitcoin or any other investments outside crypto. That's the only way you can see good use of your money after sometimes.
187  Economy / Economics / Re: Save money today so money would save you tomorrow. on: March 10, 2024, 09:42:01 PM
I wasn't really a saving type, but lately looking at the current situation of things in my country, how costly things have gotten, once money enters your account or wallet, you'll be suprised of how you won't be sure of how it vanished, not to talk of having a tangible reason of what you did with the money. So recently looking at how people cry for money and personally looking at how I needed money I decided to start splitting the little allowance I get, saving one part and using the other, I won’t really say that it has made me a billionaire or that I no longer lack money but at least I have cash somewhere that I could call my own and fall back to in cause of emergency.
To cut the story short, I’m advising mostly the young people of our generation to save, avoid unnecessary spendings and save even if it’s so little, cause you might find yourself in a situation tomorrow and you wouldn’t want to call home or ask for help, cause you have a second choice, that means you are literally getting yourself out of a problem. So please it’s not too late to stop spending on things that doesn’t really matter, so basically the money you saved today could literally save you tomorrow.

In the late 90s, that's the advice you hear from people that you should save for rainy days when things are bright for you, a time will come when some of the opportunities you have now might not surface again but today, they don't tell you to save as inflation has eaten up many countries currencies that used to be valuable. Today, you don't save money but you invest into something that can give you a meaningful return on your money, this money will give you help you in solving many things later.

I also think that despite these generation been the luckiest ones with many opportunities, they are the laziest because they want to have things easily, even when they do have the money, they spend the money on luxurious lifestyle that will only add zero to nothing into their life. They don't realize until those opportunities becomes the things of the past and they regret their whole life.
188  Economy / Economics / Re: When luxury becomes a necessity. on: March 10, 2024, 09:07:46 PM
I've purchased a Mac laptop that's way expensive than the average laptops I could easily get but because I needed what will work well for the kind of job I do, I had to buy it and I must say that the fulfillment out ways the negative thought of not to purchasing it.

That's one factor that lead me to always go for high quality and luxurious stuff after that moment.

Have you bought something that people feel is rather too expensive and that you could have purchased a lower version of it? What was your inexperience like after that?

Financial status and environment affect our ways of thinking. If you leave in New York and stay upto 2 years there, what you consider as luxurious life is what they called basic because the standard of living differences. An average house rent in New York can go for a $800 for a month but that's enough to cover you up in another place for half a year. If you stay in those kind of environment, you start to differentiate between the fake products and original products, you don't want to have anything to do with the fake ones but in other places, they don't mind and that's how standard of living differentiate us due to financial status.

Haven't you see where sneaker of Nike is sold for less than a $100 but if you ask for the original, you will see the price above $300? It's all about affordability and as long as the environment is concerned, we all can't purchase everything. If you think someone purchase and item and it's expensive, that's because they have the means and the money and when they go for cheaper, that's what they can afford but in the long run, one last more than the other.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Wise to Cash Out 3.5 ETH For Debt Payments on: March 10, 2024, 08:46:56 PM
Right now the markets are rising in our favours. Too bad the worlds markets are in FIAT.
Right now i wish to pay off some credit card debts i have. All in FIAT of course and yes i know i will have to pay tax on the capital gains.
Would i be making an ok choice to sell off some ETH right now to CAD to pay some debt off. as where markets are im in the position.
just wondering on the tax i have to pay, would i be paying more tax then what i will be writing off in credit card debt? thanks

If your debt isn't due, then I will advice you to hold but just know that this is risk. It's a two way side thing but the upper is more likely to happen than the down side because Bull run hasn't happen yet, we are still in the phase of last run recovery. But if your debt is due and you feel disturb, kindly find a way and pay that loan and have peace of mind especially if there is interest rate that will come with it if you default your payment.

Capital gains are between +-30% at most of anything gain from the market. For every $100 you invested, you are likely to pay +-$30 to your government depending on where you from, so do you calculation if its going to favour you and the debt you have to pay.

A little suggestion, why not find an alternative to pay up the debt and free the 3.5 ETH, you should be financially capable to do that if you could raised this amount by yourself. This should be an investment.
190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling shib to buy other alt coin? on: March 09, 2024, 10:07:27 PM
I had an initial investment of 250 on Shib and now it's over 800. Should I sell and buy some other alt-coin or should I hold? Also what altcoin should I buy? Sorry for the stupid newbie post I'm just not optimistic about Shib since it's a poop coin haha.

Are you long term investor or short term investor or a person that buy and sell once he see profit? Shin is meme token that people love, you can't even advice the holders because they so much believe in it more than anything, so I will not advise you to sell it now, live it tmto grow more and then sell it when it has grown more, I learnt that alt season has not even started yet, who knows if that $800 is going to double or triple in couple of some months.

The way you source for $240 to buy shib, you should try another way to look for a means to get money and them invest into another coins that you believe will grow in value just the way you believed in Shiba. You are making investment and you will benefit strongly when the time is right for your investment but please be careful where you put money because altcoins are too risky to put money into.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: $5000 investing now - which 5 projects? on: March 09, 2024, 08:13:36 PM
If you had to invest 5x $1000 USD now, what would be your 5 coins (except ETH) to invest?

You made a wrong poll voting. You said you needed 5 altcoins to invest $1k each and you only make an option for just a single coin. You also didn't consider if the coin I have in mind is not among the options you listed up there? My simple advice, look into good coins among the 50 projects on market cap and you are good to go because they are nor safer than coins below 100 place in the market cap.

Here is my wish list of altcoins I will like to invest.
1. FTM: This coins was one of the best altcoins of their previous bull run but some how, the multi-chain bridge control by another team was hacked which led to investors to lost over $130m but the team are working with court to get back their lock coins and stable coins and with some new updates about the project and some airdrop.

2. SUI: This coin is a new altcoin that has not experienced bull run before and it has a solid team that are working tirelessly to improve scalability of the chain. Here are the rest of the coins I think you might need.

3. Near protocol.
4. Injective protocol.
5. Rune
192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: March 09, 2024, 07:50:06 PM
Inter Milan will not let that happen, it will definitely maintain at least a draw for Inter Milan to qualify.
Who would have thought that Cadiz had a 1-0 lead in the first half even though in the second half it would reverse its situation, it would not be surprising anymore.

Back to the Champion League match I don't feel Atletico Madrid will qualify their chances at home are so great but I judge how from Inter Milan's current performance which is so consistent in the Champion League and Serie A, their minds will be distracted to stay focused on the champion league match.

If this was Atletico Madrid of January and early February, I can bet my balls they are going to give Inter some home training in the second leg but right now, their performance isn't something to write home about, very terrible for such team that was has credit score of whooping ass in any competition they find their self playing. If Cardiz could win them today, I'm not seeing what is stopping Inter in this second leg plus even though it's going to be an away game,

All away team that were draw in the round of 16 in Atletico Madrid side view of the table, they seems to be the only away team that will be eliminated, all other teams started away match and they won their first away match, only Atletico didn't make any and will be the one to lose again, even Bayern made it back but I'm not sure of these guys.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake loses $615k bet on Joshua-Ngannou bout on: March 09, 2024, 07:28:46 PM
Drake thought Francis Ngannou would win but Anthony Joshua knocked out Ngannou in the second round of the match of the heavyweight showdown in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Drake lost $615000.

https://www.thecable.ng/drake-loses-615k-bet-on-joshua-ngannous-bout/amp?/drake-loses-615k-bet-on-joshua-ngannous-bout

Why is Drake always having the fever of loss? With this recent loss, I have come to a conclusion that anytime Drake bet on anything, I will do the opposite of what he played because he always loss. Somebody should advice him with the way he's playing, he seems addicted and the addiction is not yielding any good results publicly except if u had other games he bets and don't show them to the public but who knows if that one's has been losses too.

However, can we take some minutes to review how this game ended? That game looks stage, the knockout was too obvious and Ngannou wasn't protecting his face from most of the KO tackles that was coming from AJ, what does he get from this if he couldn't win Anthony Joshua and and Tyson Fury, I'm not seeing the use of his body huge, maybe he should try another career. Sad
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 09, 2024, 06:46:17 PM
Well, the first half came with Arsenal dominating the match and scoring a goal, until the goalie, Aaron allowed Wissa close him down to cause a goal. Am sure the second half would have more goals because this first half result is very unacceptable if they intend to win the premier league this season.
The knows they shouldn't loose this match and hoping the coach, Arteta makes the right changes so the can win this match.

Ramsdale has put Arsenal in difficult position again after the first lead Arsenal had, I didn't expected that too happened so quick, he should have let go of the ball immediately but Wissa saw the advantage as a good attacker. In this match, he is the only player that has been pushing Arsenal to the wall, even from the rating he is currently the highest and I think they are going to give him man of the match if these game end up as draw but I hope it doesn't because that's going to the be the end of Arsenal journey with the trophy.

The second half look tough but I never expect Brentford to be solid this way, Arsenal are pushing with all their last energy to secure another goal but Brentford aren't letting them in and if they don't bank on it right now, they might never had the chance again because it's the way Arsenal is playing offensive and defensive games they are also playing which look like equal performance to me.
195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: March 08, 2024, 07:38:14 PM
Yes, I would think so too. Mbappe had left some shoes that Osimhen could be able to fill in quite comfortably. And perhaps, his skills would be more pronounced playing for PSG than it would playing in any club in the premier league.
He could very well be touted as the new prince of France if such a move takes place later on.

Osimhen and Mbape has something in common, they are both love by their respective teams when they helped them achieved a lot in the club and when they noticed that their taste was about to change, they improved their love for them and increase the weekly wages and just after that when a mistake happened, they turned against. They did that to Mbape before the season start when Messi and Neymar left and now he seems fed up and he is ready to live for Real Madrid by the end of the season.

Osimhen in similar problem right now, he has signed an awful contract to 2026 but now the spirit is not longer to stay even though it is obvious that he is trying his best to satisfy the club, but I know that he is scoring theses goals so as to have a better offer comes the end of the season to another fantastic club where he can rest and do more for them.
196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Decentralized vs Centralized Gambling....Which do you prefer? on: March 08, 2024, 07:22:09 PM
Thanks to the inception of smart contracts, we can now enjoy decentralized gambling in a provably fair way. I've used a few gambling dApps in the past, and the experience was great. Except now that dApps charge high gas fees (on ETH) due to increased network congestion. But with L2 scaling solutions and alternative chains, this should no longer be a problem.

Do you think decentralized gambling dApps will eventually replace their centralized counterparts? If not, why? Which do you prefer? Centralized or decentralized gambling? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Smiley

When you said alternative chain, do you know that it's going to be extra task for the casino if they want to implement different blockchains. By demand, low fees chain include Tron, Matic or polygon, Binance smart chain bsc, and if they want to add Lightening Network, it's going to require extra work. This might bring some transparency in gambling but it will yield small customers as it's not everyone that will be ready to pay these fees, some people pledge cent in wager to win good amount, it will be like a burden to them.

I also think that decentralized gambling platforms are going to be slow for games like blackjack and slot, you have to execute a transaction in real time before you wager that money unlike where it is done in database with centralized casino. If there is a way that it will be smooth and easy, we will have plenty of them by now but even in this forum, 90% of gambling platforms here are all centralized.
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: March 08, 2024, 06:59:22 PM
Leverkusen could not play as well as expected in the first match. The opponent is not a strong team, they are struggling, but we can say that the players' skills are not very high. Actually, Milan also plays very interesting football. I wouldn't be surprised if we watch them in the final, both the players are talented and the European matches are very valuable for them.
Liverpool will not make mistakes in the next match either, I do not think they will want to take risks Smiley

I don't know why everyone has high expectations Leverkusen forgetting that they are not the only best team in these tournament. We have Liverpool who is currently in number 1 place in Premier League which is consider as one of the tough leagues in the world, we have Sporting CP from Portuguese League, we hve Milan and Benfica even though they are not in the first place but they are among the top on their leagues. This is going to be competitive than anyone would expect.

I just think Liverpool aren't supposed to be here though, these guys killed Sparta Prague like they were having a dinner and to think that was there away match, what will now happen if they play them in Andfield, 5 goals is too much to concede in the first round of knockout stage, there is not coming back from this because they have already qualified now.
198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: March 08, 2024, 06:46:24 PM
Foden is the best player at Manchester City and is also often relied on by Manchester City in every match so there is no mistake if he is placed in the striker position even though he can also be quite suitable in the midfield. Currently Manchester City is still a quite competitive team in chasing Liverpool who are at the top of the Premier League. So the best players at Manchester City must continue to be utilized well by their own coach when there is one player who cannot contribute more to the team.

Foden has been a good equipment for Manchester City since De Bruyne exit to injury, he has picked form to beckme one of the best attacking midfield that I feel like if he is given number 9 places, he is going to perform even better than Haaland but I know a lot people will say otherwise and says I'm capping but that's the honest truth, he is very strong and has not gone to injury this week season and he is 18 goals this season, even Julian Alvarez is behind him with goals.

If we are talking about one of the most completed team, then I give it to Manchester City but I am confident that luck is going to shine upon us very soon, if we win Brentford this week, there is high tendency of winning City in the next match and that will make Arsenal unbeaten in law the last 9 matches and shift to second place in the table.
199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you avoid some games because of racism? on: March 08, 2024, 06:35:06 PM
Especially on sports betting we see some racism happening and this happened in most of the league that are popular of which so many persons bet on. It bothers me to ask, that imagine you placed a bet and somehow you have 80% assurance that it would come out successful. And on the process of waiting for the game to end there was some racism manipulation in the game which made you lost the game. It could be football or other sports cause its mostly found in sports.

Next time would you choose to not bet on a particular game because you feel the members of the VAR, or the referee are racist, and you are sure that there would be some manipulation?

Last week match of Real Madrid and Valencia to be precise experienced a lot of racism, this is not the first time this always happened anytime Vinicious is present in those games but he always humble them with goals which he did but did the game ended well? No. The officiating teams did a bad job in the last goal Bellingham scored, worst officiating I have seen so far and this is why I don't bet on games they called Derby and El classic to save my self from different embracement.

Sports that involve racism is are easy to predicts by some players actually, you just look at what you think is impossible and then stake on that. If you see two hot teams are having a match or games, just bet on them that the match will not end as draw, the aggressiveness in those games will make you win but in spite of this, I hope racism end forever, we are bringing hateful altitude of 80s to 20s and that is very bad.
200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: March 07, 2024, 09:56:56 PM
You are indeed following the transformation going on with Napoli. They have shown huge difference in their attacking as well as the midfield in their last two matches. Winning Juventus was a nice proof that the can still achieve great result this season and a good test of their courage. Their new matches are very tough and demanding except that against Torino tomorrow which I think they will win with little stress. After this match they will be facing Inter Milan followed by Atalanta, two teams that are also in their best form. It will be interesting to see how Napoli will be able to navigate through.

If Napoli effort has come sooner, it would have been better but to me, what they are doing now is like trying to move a truck that has been abandoned in the forest but some how it has been brought back to life but some things had been damaged in the truck. That's the only scenario I can picture from this their performance because despite all of these, they are right below Atlanta in number 7 places on the table. Their dream of next year Champions League is buried for now maybe next year.

How many points are they away from Torino that makes you think Napoli are better than Torino, the Atlanta team are even ahead of them in the table which means that if Napoli want to be consider a place in the Europa League, they need to have atleast 3 wins to make that place which after they have to continue to win their games otherwise they are not going for any important league than Seria A next season.
