Purely speculation on my part,but I think with the current price hovering at so high an average the next price spike could very likely be over 20 for a high!

But seriously,When you see BTC go up and down like this over a year or so.You realize you're in it mainly for the long run not for short term quick trades of BTC.

I actually think you're right.I am not sure if anyone has actually looked at the Gox via live but some of the money you saw during the trading was huge.The money IS still there irregardless of if someone sells or not.What an individual might be trying to do is Sell while it was high effect the market with a huge dump then buy BTC at a lower price while still profiting.

Lol,A lot of individuals sold earlier but think of it as an expensive investment.You WILL lose on it....but sometimes the market surprises you.

It could be,however it seems rather clear it is more than one person co-ordinating the effort.Hmmmm,I wonder if anyone can put something up like a time based site stat between each major rally....the results might be interesting.I also noticed exact same thing when Pirate was around many moons ago.

I realize everytime this site is slow to respond there seems to be a rally and just looked over at the Gox and it seems new highs are happening.

Hmmm....I wonder is the incentive to buy at 18.It seems so far the buys are playing it safe and there hasn't been much of a rally for 24 hours.Usually it has been between +.75-1.00 over the last few days everyday.

I think we'll just have to wait it see.The rally seems to be always around the same time period if it doesn't happen then we know there will likely be no rally.

I was thinking something along the same lines.....but a bit different.

I think someone who is dealing with ASIC mining could be doing this to increase the value of BTC first to collect a majority of BTC before a sudden rise in difficulty IF ASIC mining goes popular.The result is that the price may actually increase again due to a potential substantial increase in difficulty while they hoard BTC in addition to your theory.

I've noticed whenever the price increases substantially it always seems to happen between Midnight and 10 AM the next day increasing the price by about ~1 US.

I saw it under "Last price" at the gox.It looks like it will be going higher today hopefully.

Yeah,It is crazy I just saw it hit 16.71 briefly.
