541  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: 198 BTC 4 SALE! [LE PAYPAL] on: August 06, 2011, 09:23:18 PM
WTF,Did no one read my posts earlier in the thread,WTF ? The fact he didn't respond to the allegations should have said something and though me placing a message here was enough guess some didn't see it.

If I remember right Paypal won't let you charge back for virtual goods.  I'd buy 198 btc for 8 bucks each, but I'd like to use something more secure than paypal for such a large transaction.  Got burned for two BTC once because of paypal.  The guy said he would sell me 40 btc.  Lucky thing is told him I would only buy it in exponentially growing chunks starting by only buying two btc, to four, to eight ect...  I sent him the small payment for the two btc and he ran with it.  Because of the nature of the transaction PP wouldn't charge back.
Lol,I made this EXACT recommendation to the current user through messaging but he wanted to do a larger transaction instead by paying $100 @ a time. The user instead wanted me to pay first instead of sending me Bitcoin first while I pay for it it on scaled basis as trust would ensue on something a bit larger.I think its best to be cautious concerning this or use an escrow.

Don't know,but It is currently a botnet !!

543  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: 8/2/11 Downturn / Speculation Thread on: August 06, 2011, 03:21:28 PM
The issue simply is not speculation there appears to be a botnet purposely devaluing bitcoin,I wouldn't be so quick to disperse the fact this or around sometime soon it is probably a great time to start either buying or thinking about it.

It is so bloody weird, when I asked for it at around $8 and that is what the price is at now.Might be a good time to have proper antivirus in place such as F-secure or any that can detect the bot.
544  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking at buying 500 Btc @ 8 USD on: August 06, 2011, 02:14:21 PM

Guess what ? you ain't a customer without a vendor.
*Looks @ the current 7.99 USD price per BTC over @ MtGoz*,Guess that Buick is only 3 ham sandwiches, lol !!!

Haha,keep telling yourself that !!!
545  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Miners detecting only 1/2 GPU of 3... on: August 06, 2011, 05:59:41 AM
Update your bios or read your mobo manual there might be a restriction concerning more than 2 gpus.
546  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Looking at buying 500 Btc @ 8 USD on: August 06, 2011, 05:56:03 AM
^Sorry, but it must be 500 @ 8 US as I am going to be buying in bulk within the confines of what I can afford.Customer is always right, lol. Tongue

I was also contacted by "Middleman" but couldn't really come to a conclusion on how to get things going payment wise and now "BoomGoesTheDynamite" but heard no reply yet.

549  Bitcoin / Mining / Interesting AMD APP 2.5 Overview on: August 04, 2011, 06:26:10 PM
I am no software coder but I get the impression from reading the overview of APP 2.5 that AMD is holding back a lot of possible mining potential w/ Radeons.XP support looks questionable in the future w/ regards to runtime updates but frequent updates to the runtime seem plausible.I found this most interesting and wondered if this could have a positive affect on mining ??

The compiler looks like it finally supports a variance of SSE3,SSE4 and AVX based CPUs should see a boost in speed when using the newest runtime.

Quote
Please note, that as of this driver release, AMD has yet to unlock the use of their 64 kiB on-chip Global Memory for inter-SIMD communication with a separate OpenCL extension in order to unleash the full potential of their GPUs. GPU-Computing programmers will have to take this limitation into account for their work. As you may have noticed, separate versions for Windows XP are no longer offered and the footnote on AMDs developer website that indicated XP support still being included in the 32 and 64 Bit installers respectively has disappeared. That seems to complete the discontinuance for Windows XP support in the APP SDK.Please note that the requirements for Linux versions have change also. For Ubuntu and Redhat you need versions 11.04 and 6.x respectively.

Got in touch with the user "Skyliner" who claims to have 627 BTC...but haven't really been able to make any progress.Would be willing to do business with trusted members and serious offers only.

552  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Best flags for GUIMiner with 6770 & 6950 ??? on: August 03, 2011, 06:38:06 PM
I have basically the same GPU setup albeit replace the 6770 for a 5770 though, lol. You might try some of the settings here and use some of the modified files from here or Diapolo's Kernel if you can find it on the forum.
553  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: miner hangs when i disconnect logmein or unplug monitor on: August 03, 2011, 05:48:30 PM
You might have to go back to the 11.6B drivers it looks like the 11.7 Whql aren't that stable for some if not most.Which obviously means back to using dummy plugs.
554  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bottle necking my cpu? or what else may be wrong? on: August 03, 2011, 05:45:35 PM
I have the same issue with my CPU usage being extremely high. I am running a 5770 on an AMD X4 and it uses up a whole core to keep up with the miner. Is this a problem with the Catalyst driver? I really don't know what else it could be.
It's the Catalyst 11.7 Whql...The 11.6B should fix the issue. There is no need to uninstall the 2.5 APP runtime it is just the Video driver not the OpenCL variant.

Bump... I have figured out why my mhash/s is lowering on my second and 3rd card... They down clock them selves when I turn them on... I can only asume this is because of heat... So what do you guys use to keep your temps down? I hit 100c plus with all three cards on, and the middle and top cards hits 95 when I only have two running (bottom and middle or top is the same result)... Any suggestions are welcome, but my comp is in my room so using 190CFM fans in the GPU duct in the HAF X is not an option (I have tried Tongue)
Use a good third party thermal compound on your GPUs.It is possibly the cheapest way....but kinda precarious if you don't know where and how to put the goo on.

I have seen temps drop 8-15 C depending on the GPU.
556  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Catalyst 11.6 vs 11.6b vs 11.7 comparison on: August 02, 2011, 06:08:32 PM

Miners froze when combining 11.6 with SDK 2.1. Phoenix.exe was stuck with 99% CPU usage rendering PC unusable.. Machines froze at random events.. Just as example.
For me 11.6 with SDK 2.4 is the best option from all. (Stable and fast..I don't mind a few MHash for having a good system stability.)
Interesting,I get pretty much the same results but using 11.6b w/ Sdk 2.5.This seems to be the new stable and updated sweet spot.

I'm only guessing that AMD fuxored up an issue they were trying to fix.I'm guessing it was the video freeze bug that the 11.7 WHQL "fixed" that made the Cpu usage bug appeared for me as I never had the issue until the driver change.
557  Bitcoin / Mining support / Multi-gpu mining issue [resolved] on: August 02, 2011, 05:48:21 PM
This was going to be my original post:

"I have been trying to get two cards to work independently with some success but the mining rate doesn't seem nominal when both are on.It is a Radeon 5770[primary card] and Radeon 6950[dummy plug] using a Corsair TX650w PSU.I have read the boards about the 100% CPU issue but don't know if that is the issue or PSU limitations.

1.Using either the Juniper[Primary card] or Cayman[dummy plug] alone results in one of my CPU cores being fully stressed @ 25%......but the mining rates are normal @ ~195 for the Juniper and ~325 for the Cayman, stock.

2.When trying to use both cards at the same time however, the following is the result.
"
-------------------

Now,After doing some tinkering for the last few hours,I have now gotten this issue fully resolved by simply uninstalling the newest Catalyst 11.7 WHQL drivers. It is NOT the newest APP 2.5 runtime as some have mentioned that is still very stable with the Catalyst 11.6B drivers which I highly suggest under XP if you have a Multi-GPU configuration. The 100% CPU or core utilization PCBLM bug was that debilitating to hash rates and made me almost buy another PSU.

I guess the moral of the story is:"When in doubt try everything, before buying anything" and hopefully this helped some of you whom have similar issues.I also highly suggest getting a driver cleaner of sorts like Driver sweeper or Driver cleaner pro after every uninstall of Catalyst drivers to isolate the issue.

                                                                                                                                                                       Cheers

There aren't that many good quality 140 mm box fans but their still some very good and most of all quiet 120 MM ones like the Akasa Vipers or better yet the Enermax magma as they are much easier to clean.
559  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What's the latest on 7xxx series from radeon? on: August 02, 2011, 04:46:45 AM
VR-zone has a nice explanation I think of AMD's GCN architecture, the only real question is will it be present in the HD 7xxx series and what could this possibly increase the difficult for bitcoin and namecoins to absurd levels.
