561  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: GREAT Alternative to the EVIL DeepBit on: August 01, 2011, 11:06:39 PM
BTCGuild has been really good over the last weekend or so.The pool luck has been waaay positive......currently over 50 % for the last 24 hours and no fee.

For some reason I could have never signed up for Deepbit as the website was done and have been satisfied with my current pool.
562  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Multi-GPU mining w/o Crossfire ? on: August 01, 2011, 10:56:15 PM
^Cool,You should read about your motherboard as well.It wasn't until I read that it only post on one slot when other GPUs are present did I figure out it was working as spec'd.The only other issue was to find out how to enable it in Desktop which requires an extra display confirmed whether via dummy plugs or to your current monitor's extra slots.

pretty sure you cant mix 6xxx and 5xxx cards

Actually, you can.I got it to work but I'm guessing my PSU didn't like it at all as the hash rate was all over the place and sometimes even under the 6950 alone so wasn't worth and will likely sell the card instead. When I got it to work the extended desktop was enabled allowing GUIminer to recognize the card separately.

Just got it to work without the plugs,I had an extra vga connection around which I connected to the same monitor and now both cards are recognized.

Maybe I'm mistaken but doesn't VGA converters changed to a dummy plugs have a chance of blowing the vid interface on your videocard ?
568  Bitcoin / Mining / Multi-GPU mining w/o Crossfire ? on: July 31, 2011, 09:25:45 PM
I was wondering if anyone has gotten two ATI cards to work without crossfire using a software solution and without Dummy plugs ?

Yes,I am using the Catalyst 11.7 and trying to get a Radeon 5770 and 6950 to work independently.

When a cold rainy cloudy day is a good day.

I'd like to add "yellowcar" to this list,as he is obviously a scammer.
572  Economy / Gambling / Re: [1.5x] quick pyramid - No Fee, just for rep. on: July 28, 2011, 10:28:08 PM
Glad,I only placed about .14 btc though.Definitely won't be gambling anymore and will stick to trying to mine exclusively.Next time it might be a good idea to use an Escrow.

^^Lol.

The upcoming HD Radeon 7000 series is said or rumoured to be more computationally competent/efficient.Considering the Cayman architecture was suppose to be .32 nm and AMD/ATI was forced to skip that I'm thinking whatever they couldn't fit on the Cayman architecture will now make a debut with some more improvements. It is also not known if the new card will be the new GCN architecture that AMD was recently showcasing or just a Cayman die shrink with improvements.I'm hoping for 1.2 OpenCl compatibility, more complex shaders and perhaps some Directx 12 upcoming features on the upcoming die considering they have the space.I'm thinking the true next generation core will substantially increase the difficulty considering computations are the focus this time around.

Meh,not really a good deal, imo. If it was a 6950 that would be a better deal.
576  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoinplus.com not allowing withdrawals? on: July 27, 2011, 10:26:34 PM
There have been some people mentioning the same when using Bitcoinplus.I have used it for sometime but realized that it took too much time to get to the .01 fee and dared not to waist anymore time. You should try one of the miners in question to get yourself going as I am sure the electricity that is required for the CPU isn't as effecient as it would be with a gpu.
577  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Catalyst 11.7 and 11.8 preview drivers available !!!! on: July 27, 2011, 10:09:41 PM
^Lol,I guess that is why they released the 11.8 drivers.I have to say that I had some problems at first installing for my 6950 but after using driversweeper and driver cleaner to remove any excess driver and ccc profiles I noticed a performance increase from the 11.7 previews of about 1-2 M/hash a sec @ the exact same clocks of 870 core/755 mem. using -v -w128 -f30.

If you are truly interested in mining you should check out the following article about mining at the rates of electricity that is consumed per state IF you live in the US.
