421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU Mining - Who will emerge Dominant? on: October 08, 2011, 02:46:20 AM
I haven't noticed any such thing,My processor is also overclocked by 1 Ghz and haven't noticed any issues after ~9 hours of cpu mining Tenebrix.I've been getting quite a lot proofs of work being done without issue.

Now if only I can get Solidcoin and Tenebrix via merged CPU-only mining this would be really quite profitable w/namecoin and BTC on GPUs,hehe.

edit:Looks like ArtForz got to your issue quicker.
422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CPU Mining - Who will emerge Dominant? on: October 07, 2011, 11:46:46 PM
by the time it comes out the phenom might have already paid itself off Cheesy
Considering the rumored release date and vastly improved cache size and architectural improvements.....highly unlikely,Bulldozer FTW.
423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Tenebrix, a CPU-friendly, GPU-hostile cryptocurrency on: October 07, 2011, 07:08:38 PM
^I think a ponzi site might be a better idea considering the amount of threads on the topic in the gambling room.I also think there should be a bounty for development of more open source miner software specific with optimizations for both Intel and AMD cpus that works with the Tenebrix fork.

BTW,Tenebrix just broke the .01 BTC barrier and is definitely rallying quickly over the last few minutes.Wonder if there is a bounty for reporting that, lol !

Tenebrix address just in case,haha ! tRQZQee49eXTb6foGLLCV9pfSSGirwrhjo
424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What speed are your getting CPU mining TENEBRIX? on: October 06, 2011, 10:05:01 PM
I definitely have some questions concerning this considering I have rarely done CPU minin

1.Are you guys using mainly a pool or solo-mining ?

2.Are there any details towards optimizing further for Intel CPUs ?

3.What GUI based programs work with the Tenebrix fork ?

Getting 1.72 Kh/s per thread @ 3.4 Ghz i5
425  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Why You Haven't Seen Miners Leave in Hordes..... on: September 23, 2011, 02:01:02 PM
I think the original answer for the original question is that it is still considered profitable.

One can still get a considerable amount of BTC through alternate currencies and I believe "merged mining" in a pool could make that even more profitable in the future when it comes on line. When merged mining comes online the alternate currencies should actually increase in value considering the difficulty increase.

Currently,Solidcoin is the most profitable to BTC.
426  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Newer variant of Catalyst (8.892)11.9 out(might fix 100 % CPU bug). on: September 20, 2011, 07:01:51 PM
The newest variant still doesn't fix the bug for me..
427  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mooncoin - Solidcoin/Namecoin to BTC Exchange on: September 17, 2011, 02:14:21 AM
^^That's the specific reason why I brought it up.ICE's responsibility is interior enforcement not the border regions,CBP is responsible for what you mentioned !!!!
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mooncoin - Solidcoin/Namecoin to BTC Exchange on: September 17, 2011, 01:26:25 AM
Lol,I guess you guys never looked at the cert.

"moonco.in uses an invalid security certificate.

The certificate is only valid for www.ice.gov

(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)"
429  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: NEW !! Leaked Specs / AMD Radeon HD 7900 to Utilize New XDR2 Rambus Memory on: September 15, 2011, 04:48:41 PM
Not RDRam again, great performance, high cost. Is it justified?

1st.: I bet there will be GDDR3 and GDDR5 versions for low cost.
2nd.: Mining doesn't require high memory bandwith.

1.I'd bet no considering the GCN variant is the only 7900 series that will sport XDR and more than likely was built around the new architecture.

2.True,but GPUs aren't made for just mining.

I'd like to note that the 7900 series and all of the new cards with the new die shink will definitely cost a premium considering TSMC is carry up the price due to demand.

Both the official and Guru3d variants do not install for me on XP.

What I find interesting is the sudden price increase over ~$15 or was that just a fluke ?
432  Bitcoin / Mining / Newer variant of Catalyst (8.892)11.9 out(might fix 100 % CPU bug). on: September 12, 2011, 07:05:19 AM
It looks like the Catalyst 11.9 are finally out and some here have mentioned it gives a nice performance boost without the 100% CPU bug being prevalent.

If this post has been helpful donate, lol !

Edit: A newer variant of the Cat. 11.9(8.892) has been released ! Although, when I tried these the bug is still prevalent.

437  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: at 7$ per btc i need to pull the plug on: September 06, 2011, 06:53:55 AM
It's actually now 6.8 it is obvious that the issues concerning BTC is just not attracting investment from people with actual money.BTC requires actual MONEY,despite all the BS people talk about the currencies,BTC simply cannot be sustained without it.

Looking to sell my vidocards as a bundle, new 2x 5970s-never used and 6950 used-(approx a few months).I will not accept any payments that are reversible. All cards are in perfect working order should give the user over 2 Gh/s which should pay itself off very quickly.
439  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What's the latest on 7xxx series from radeon? on: September 01, 2011, 06:27:18 PM
Well,I've been reading as of late only the Southern Islands (probably 7950) and up will have the major changes while the other graphics chips are just Northern Island cores.Southern Islands AKA "Trinity" is suppose to be AMD/ATI's variant of a "Fermi +" being a computation beast.I fully expect that the difficulty will increase many amounts if this will be the case considering they can place more on the 7950 and up as those are the only cores with the .28 die shrink.

I am not sure if there will be more streaming processors or that it will be more complexed variants, whatever it is it will certainly be more like a math co-processor than anything else.I'd also expect it to also be OpenCL 1.2 compliant considering the spec. is suppose to be finalized in December.

Hash rate could be over 2000 actually considering only the high-end cards will be with a die-shrink,therefore being able to up clock speeds over 1Ghz.

^Already sent a PM and also got no response, considering the many stories of illicit operators it makes this look quite shady
