Equally, what if I wanted to move a topic to archival? Would I have to request a mods attention in all of these circumstances?

Yup, It's a double-edged sword. TBH I don't think we need this at all if the user is being a dick and doesn't stop reverting the actions of the moderators, they should be warned and if they don't listen just give them a temp ban and if the behaviour continues a permaban should do the trick. One-off cases don't need special attention, it's just a waste of time and resources.
82  Economy / Economics / Re: Using of Blockchain in Election on: February 20, 2020, 12:26:07 AM
@hatshepsut93 I saw the 2nd video, Tom made a couple of interesting points which I do agree on but right at the end, he went on to promote Dashlane... LMAO... Kinda seems ironic, he gave an example of a man hearing your voting result and saying just Trust me... Same is the case with Dashlane, Let us generate these "Random" passwords for you and let us handle it in the CLOUD... What can go wrong LOL... Anyway, I still want to point out that there is no benefit of using Blockchain if the public won't participate in "mining". If the "mining" is being done by the Electoral Commission, there is nothing stopping them to manipulate the blockchain, Basically do the 51% attack themselves... Unless you can make your voters participate in the "mining" which will be a monumental task to pull off... there is no way of proving that the results weren't manipulated even if the blockchain is used and by making your voters the miners this opens up another can of worms which is these people will most likely be mining on PCs infected by malware and other backdoors so yeah I agree with Tom, Electronic voting is not easy to pull off and we should stay away from it for now at least...
83  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Power Supply calculation on: February 19, 2020, 06:07:58 AM
You are clearly running out of power... You are not accounting for the power consumed by the processor, HDD and motherboard and other components. Try with at least 2 x 750 watt PSUs this way will have headroom and your system won't crash. Your system crashing is a sign of your system not enough power...
84  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Power Supply calculation on: February 18, 2020, 10:58:55 PM
what @HeRetiK said, The only thing I will add is that I wouldn't say the efficiency plummets but rather drops by a few points. Having a higher capacity means your PSU won't be stressed even if you mine 24/7... which usually means a longer lifespan. Also, I will suggest you look into server PSUs, you can get your hands on them for half the price of what a branded PSU might cost, All of my rigs were powered with server PSUs and none failed on me. Look on Alibaba and aliexpress, you will have to buy a PSU board along with the PSU and the 8pin power cables, All these components will cost less than branded PSUs but keep in mind they don't come with any sort of warranty, Try to look for them in your local market that will be your best option if you are running tight on budget.
85  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I have a list of ideas for inventions and tools, can I post it here? on: February 18, 2020, 10:40:43 PM

Idea 1) No, this is how it would work (OP updated). It is a social media platform, users don't have to do anything except posting content if they want:

That is exactly what I meant... They post their usual stuff on your platform and other users have the option to tip them instead of liking/upvoting and this tip comes from token issuers who want their token distributed. I do get your idea but it can be exploited pretty easily and doesn't ensure a fair distribution of the tokens. Fair distribution is a hard problem to solve without KYC... There are certain ways to limit 1 account per person but they all have their shortcomings... I still don't see what value it brings to the table besides being a middle man in airdrops... Anyway, Good luck with it if you decide to pursue it...
86  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I have a list of ideas for inventions and tools, can I post it here? on: February 18, 2020, 02:30:58 AM
Hmm, So your Idea 1 is basically an airdrop website in a nutshell? Users get tokens for doing certain actions but instead of sharing/creating posts about the project on their FB or twitter they post it on your platform, why would anyone want to do that? Plus I don't see how your business will generate those Billions, Either you offer everyone to list their tokens for free or become something like Publish0x where you charge the developers to list their coins... I can't think of any model besides ads which will generate revenue for your business...

Decentralized search engines have already been done, you can find many projects by doing a mere google search...

Your audio app has potential as I said before, however, after doing some googling I found a couple of apps which already do this... https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Kandinsky/ This one is mobile friendly and works on any device... However if you advertise and develop it properly, you can definitely make some money out of it...

One method could be he could recall private conversations of PM with certain individuals, something that only was discussed in private between 2 users. Even though his account here is locked, the PM might still be saved somewhere and as long as Satoshi remembers certain conversations, it can be used to prove his identity.

Basically trusting the judgement of people you have never met in real life, if that does the trick for you I'm fine by that but for me, it isn't the proof. PM's can be compromised and keys can exchange hand, So yeah even if the real satoshi signed the addresses and provided some detailed descriptions about the conversations he had with theymos or core devs it still won't do the trick for me... There is no way even Satoshi can prove to me that he is Satoshi basically...

But I guess he lost his keys to most of the early day bitcoins,

If that is actually the case then he lost the identity of Satoshi aswell. No keys = No Satoshi or Lost Keys = Lost Satoshi's Identity. It's as simple as that... Besides, why would such an ingenious person who has deep understanding of some very low level constructions of early bitcoin architecture would fail to keep a single private key of his addresses? Roll Eyes I have skype conversation almost a decade old still saved on 3 flash drives for one of my web app which has achieved nowhere near the success of what bitcoin has amassed but I still have it just as a proof of sorts, I find it hard to believe that the person who invented bitcoin didn't know how to take care of his keys, even if they were worthless. It makes a nice bedtime story but in real-world speculation gets us nowhere.

TBH I don't think I will be ever satisfied with any proof of sorts. Keys can exchange hands and technical knowledge of Bitcoin /Blockchain can be learned. At the end of the day even if the Real Satoshi decided to come back and say hi, I don't think I will be able to trust that person. Basically you will be trusting the judgement of Theymos and few devs who worked with Satoshi and one of them has already got their judgment in question ( Gavin ), as @xtraelv mentioned... So for me, at least the Identity of Satoshi will forever be a mystery and I am pretty satisfied with that...
89  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: I have a list of ideas for inventions and tools, can I post it here? on: February 16, 2020, 02:39:19 PM
Why would you put your ideas into the world for free? You could make hundreds of thousands of dollars from your idea. E.G your Audio app idea, I once saw an episode on Shark tank where the guy developed an app with some hardware which utilized motion sensors to generate audio that guy got an investment of like $200k if I remember correctly... What I am saying why not keep your ideas private and make money out of them instead of just posting them here? Your DrawyourMusic app seems investable, why not develop it and put it in the market?
90  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-01-30] Bitcoin Has Lost Steam. But Criminals Still Love It. on: February 16, 2020, 01:02:47 PM
This is the nth time you have said we should embrace it what is that suppose to mean? Are we supposed to run a parade? Run Banner Ads or do a massive signature campaign? You don't seem to like the fact that in the bigger picture the numbers don't mean anything and by Far FIAT (Hard cash) is the major tool that is used by criminals. I broke down the numbers for you in one of the earlier posts but you said the same thing we should embrace it, Would you kindly elaborate what you want from us? What this embracing would look like? When we argue about the numbers we aren't shying away from the fact yes bitcoin facilitates everyone but that doesn't mean, it's the only use-case of the technology... smdh.

Basically, miners will have to run twice as many calculations,
wrong. what you refer to as "calculations" depends ONLY on difficulty and that does NOT change with halving.

The OP is actually right... You took it out of context. OP Said "Basically, miners will have to run twice as many calculations, with the corresponding increase in electricity usage, to get the same amount of Bitcoin they currently receive." which is true... Unless OP added it afterwards. But I dunno where the guy is getting this 6K figure from or how did he reach this $90K figure for BTC. Given if the economic system doesn't collapse or the world doesn't end by a deadly virus, One can expect a gradual rise in BTC price given its deflationary nature... These speculation posts add no value to BTC or the forum. I agree with @pakhitheboss this post was created for mere purposes of getting a backlink nothing more... The thread should have been nuked surprised it wasn't.
92  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: YouTube Binance impostor: what is happening right now? on: February 13, 2020, 10:39:30 PM
@Kryptqnick the ones I reported are gone... Checked from another Google Account. However, I do see a new stream on one of the channels https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2Cl2g2xFTZoAEldxYVzQFg/videos It's a shame even after reporting them that the account was hacked they haven't suspended its ability to Livestream. This is something they can definitely work on, Why just take the video down when you know the account is hacked, Just lock it away till its restored to its original owner... smdh...
93  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: YouTube Binance impostor: what is happening right now? on: February 12, 2020, 04:54:24 PM
They took it down pretty fast iyam... Within 2 hours both of the videos I reported have been removed. Considering they would get hundreds of thousands of reports, 2 hours to review isn't bad... They also took down other videos with the similar titles which I didn't even report. So it looks like we can do our part. Just report them and leave a detailed comment and the videos should go down.

These two channels were the ones I reported:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2Cl2g2xFTZoAEldxYVzQFg/videos
https://www.youtube.com/user/antonioeafsi/videos

@buwaytress That only applies on AdWords you can still upload content on Youtube, Rank keywords on Google if they are crypto-related, You just can't advertise on Adwords which too isn't enforced properly, Also it's not a 100% fool-proof system I have seen many ads which seem to have by-pass their apparent ban. Google AdWords, however, do allow ads from "Regulated exchanges" I dunno wtf is that supposed to mean or how does one become Regulated with Google, Only they are allowed to advertise their business with Google.

It's common sense. You just take a short look at the list of livestreams impersonating Binance and within a minute you'd get the idea that it's a scam. Let's not victimize Google.

I kinda agree with you but we do have to keep in mind that Youtube moderation is also done by humans. I did end up reporting the livestreams and i got this ( see image below ) message each time I reported. While it says the moderation is a constant process it doesn't say anything about how long it might take. So far it has been around an hour and both of the livestreams I reported are still up, I will update this post if there is any change in their status. What I find interesting is these both livestreams are in being streamed in a "restricted mode" ( 2nd image ). Dunno why the scammers would want that, As they’d want as many people as they can to watch their stream. I guess they did it to not allow users to comments on the live chat.

Also, I couldn't find anything related to how many reports does it takes for a video to be taken down, I don't think a single report does the trick on youtube. It has to be multiple reports I believe to make youtube take an action against a video unless it's a copyright claim. Anyway, I will see how things go from here...

95  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Guide] How to get genuine windows 10 ISO and why? on: February 12, 2020, 10:47:29 AM
TBH @iasenko, I have almost never cared for the personalization features. Never been into customization my desktops etc. I like to keep things vanilla on windows especially. Just like what @Pmalek said they are non-essential but I have never heard anything about sound limitation or experienced something like it while using a non-activated version... I will look into tho.

@bakasabo I bought a key from @Fakhoury along time ago and it still works... Tho keep in mind MSDN keys can stop working anytime, if the licence isn't renewed by the seller or they get banned from Microsoft. I paid like 5 Bucks I think for it back then. I do recommend getting an OEM key as it isn't linked with any kind of renewal on Seller's end. It is locked for a single machine tho. So whatever does the trick for you go for it...

I'm annoyed that Electrum let another user log into my account while I was logged in. How can they let two computers log into one account at the same time??

Wish that I just stuck with Coinbase and LocalBitcoin wallet. Been using those for years without any issues.

Jeez! I don't want to offend you but you clearly don't understand how bitcoin works in general as mentioned by others. What's surprising to me is you placed $35k into something you don't understand. smdh... On Coinbase you don't own your Bitcoins, they hold it for you. Same is the case with LocalBitcoins. In case they get hacked your bitcoins are gone forever. Bitcoin doesn't works like a bank, once a transaction is confirmed it's not reversible. The only way you might get your Bitcoins back with them is that they decide to repay for all the hacked Bitcoins out of their pocket... Yeah, they might do a better job in protecting your funds but they aren't immune to getting hacked either. Just keep this in mind, If you don't have a seed for your wallet that means you don't own any bitcoins.

There are many guides available on the internet on how to protect your seed, start there so that you may not repeat your mistakes again. Only you can protect yourself in an online world. Anyways if you decide to invest again in Bitcoin consider investing in a hardware wallet, Something which a good guide will suggest as well. Look into ColdCard if you decide to go the hardware route.

As for that site it says Pwned on 14 breached sites and found 1 paste.

Consider changing your passwords on all of the websites you have used this email on, Consider something like keypass to manage your passwords moving forward. As I said above only you can protect yourself in an online world consider reading into things like how to protect your privacy. There are many great guides available on the internet. Just to get you started you could have blurred your IPs in the screenshot you shared with us and could have only left the IPs from Russia and Romania... Anyway man Goodluck moving forward...

How would the authorities go about finding whoever stole them? Would they even investigate this? Seems like an impossible task.

Depends on how dumb your hacker was. I did a bit of googling and found that Evernote logs your IPs and an estimated geographic location so that may be a good starting point.[1] If it was someone dumb who got access to your seed they might be very easy to track with the help of authorities. Also, check https://haveibeenpwned.com/ to verify if your password has been leaked online for the email you have used on Evernote. Just hope it isn't the case as this will really shave off the list of potential suspects in your case. Other than that Sorry for your loss man.

@The Pharmacist, Unless you have a million subs or something near to that you can basically forget about the recovery of the channel, Youtube accounts are brand accounts as I said before, what this means is that you own the account but you can be removed from the ownership if someone else gets access to your account. So you will get your Google account back but if the hackers removed you from the owner list when you got hacked then you can consider that channel pretty much gone as youtube doesn't get involved in recovering those. Unless you have contacts high above in Youtube Support who can reverse the ownership transfer, these people are pretty much out of luck...
99  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Laptop broke down with company bitcoin wallet - restore it please! on: February 10, 2020, 11:11:13 PM
Why do you need the wallet file tom? Did you not backup your seed? If you have the seed, then you can simply import that on the pc you are currently on... If you need help with that you can ask me here, Don't share your seed with anyone as your wallet is your seed, if you have the seed then you have got nothing to worry about if you don't then you will have to pull out your HDD from your other laptop and run it on one of the external HDD connectors i.e if you HDD isn't dead. What did the repair service tell you about your laptop? Did they mention something about your HDD? Or is it something else?
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: YouTube Binance impostor: what is happening right now? on: February 10, 2020, 10:15:29 PM
@seoincorporation, It's actually not that hard, all you need is a verified youtube account with a checkmark. You can then change the brand name of the channel.[1] Youtube channels are considered as Brands rather than something personal so changing a name isn't hard on youtube. I have seen this happening to one of the channels I follow, the same happened to them as well, all of sudden a binance Livestream came out of nowhere and that channel had nothing to do with cryptos later in few hours the YouTuber mentioned on his twitter that his account has been hacked whats even worse is that they removed him from the ownership of the channel and he lost total control of the channel and youtube support weren't able to help him, The guy had around 100K subs and he lost it all in a blink of an eye, so yeah people should start caring about their passwords as these scammers are getting cleaver every passing day. I highly recommend using something like keypass as brute-forcing is becoming easier...
