This would not work. Stickies are supposed to bring knowledge to newbies of the forum.
I totally disagree with you here. I have been on to many forums and i have seen stickies being sold out for more than $500 per week, there is an actual market for this stuff. Also there isn't a hard and fast rule that the stickies always need to be about 'bringing knowledge'. Anyway i don't see my idea being implemented as theymos has banned icos to buy adspace here, so i don't see why he will allow stickies to be sold out.

Primarily, I would like to offer this gift to Lauda for her/his contribution on the forum.

Did Lauda just hint she was female?

Not all ICOs have the same amount of funding, same  budget.
True.

Quote
A scam ICO can still buy a slot(s) and that may give a false sense of security for newcomer.
Well a warning can be placed just like the investor based game section. Also one slot per ico.

Quote
But then I guess this is a bit like the forum ads, which theymos has stopped accepting for ICOs
I disagree with this, why not then remove the section of ICOs altogether?

Quote
IMO I think signature campaigns are still the best and most honest ways of advertising.
Agreed.
925  Economy / Reputation / Re: MORE ICOS BUMPING! Boosteriod, Arena Space and more ICO pumping!!! BAN PLEASE! on: November 28, 2017, 12:10:33 PM
They pay for "Promotion".
if they really want to spend their btc's on "Promotions" why not spend it the right way? Through Signature campaigns and so on? I have a suggestion for theymos, may be start selling sticky posts for X amount of BTCs for each week, So these icos can bid and stay on top for X amount of days, without doing anything shady. It will increase the forum revenue and if they are caught again doing this shit, they will be banned along with their IPs being suspended.
926  Economy / Reputation / Re: ICO SPAMMER LIST EXPOSED --> PRANK TURNS OUT WELL on: November 28, 2017, 11:59:36 AM
LMAO!!! Lowlifes these days! God they are stupid! All these accounts didn't thought for once that an account name 'ANNBumping_needed' will really need boosting? LOL! They need to be banned straight away instead of just receiving the negative trust.

Quote
Just be careful, because some accounts only contacted you by asking the credibility of your promises.
Well i partially agree with you here, they might get away with the excuse that they were trying to find out who really needed that 'Boosting' and expose them but who will judge their intentions? I don't think more than 60 members contacted the buyer just because they were looking out for the community.  Roll Eyes
927  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Big problem with cryptocurrency used in ecommerce !!! on: November 28, 2017, 09:59:35 AM
Here is a problem

when you buy something on Amazon or other small ecommerce websites, you can trace your money transfer.
If been scammed, you can call police and bank for help!

So what if you buy something on a website using bitcoin ? !

You paid bitcoin, but they don't deliver the product, then what ?

No bank help, cos bit coin is decentralized
Police?  it's very easy to use fake information to buy domain and hosting, and use tor to hide the IP!

Just like mocacinno said, you do a bit of research first, if you are not sure, you can hit the owners up on their contact emails and check if they are down with escrow or not. If you are not 100% sure always go with the escrow route. Also try finding products you are looking for from bitcointalk's marketplace almost all of legit sellers will accept escrow. In short you need to be smart while using bitcoins.
928  Economy / Reputation / Re: MORE ICOS BUMPING! Boosteriod, Arena Space and more ICO pumping!!! BAN PLEASE! on: November 28, 2017, 08:18:08 AM
They definitely deserve the red for sure, these people are getting smarter and smarter everyday, who would have thought a market would emerge for this.. I think they should be left with negative trust and be warned, if they continue then they need to get their ip's banned cuz these motherfuckers will come back with other accounts for sure. Also these ICOs should get negative trust too. They are obviously buying services from these lowlife scumbags..
929  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Linking fees to fiat? on: November 28, 2017, 07:47:34 AM
Quote
Well, I think you can do that without waiting for a fork to happen, just put the amount you want to pay (you can use a USD to BTC converter) when sending your transaction, many wallets offer the possibility to define Tx fee.
I know, but there isn't a consensus, anyone can bid higher and get faster confirmations. Its like a pay to play system. Where if you have money to burn you can get a benefit of quick confirmations.

Quote
The problem is if miners will accept to confirm it when you add low fee.
That's a big question here, if a consensus is created to send only 0.05 cents with each transaction, will they stop mining? or start to exclude the payments.

Quote
2) This still wouldn't prevent a fee market from emerging. Someone will always be willing to pay a premium to get first in line, regardless of whether you calculate the price in fiat or BTC terms. As a result the fees will still increase according to network load factor.
Makes sense. Well my idea isn't viable then, their is a limitation that we need to factor in.
930  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Linking fees to fiat? on: November 27, 2017, 04:47:16 PM
It's better to use Bitcoin imho. All Fiat currencies are unstable, and it would be difficult to know which one to choose.
I don't know if you are being sarcastic or just trolling.. If you really think fiat isn't stable right now. I think you need a medical check up mate.

Quote
It's not bad idea, but which exchange API is reliable for your idea and which exchange API is trust able for your idea
Well what's better than Google? It has an api for currency exchange rates. That can be used.

Quote
Also, i'm sure few people will oppose this idea.
Duh! One doesn't have to be a Sherlock to figure out who these people will be. I think they will come to terms if the users push them to. Wink

I don't know whether the idea is viable but I do commend you for taking a creative approach, in search of a solution.
Thank you  Roll Eyes

The fees are already linked to fiat in a way.
Lets remove that ambiguity and make it clear? Don't you agree with that?  Roll Eyes

Quote
When many people consider that fees are too high they choose to delay sending a transaction or send it with a low fee and just wait longer for it to confirm.
Well this is the point where bitcoin becomes a tool for the elites and less of a payment system for the masses.

Quote
As the price of Bitcoin increases the BTC value at which people choose not to pay will decrease.
Not sure about this part. Miners may decline to accept all the payments, what will happen then? They may argue that they want atleast 30Sat/byte etcs.. Have to think about this part..
931  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: bitcoinrush.io takes your btc if a faucet player and get a withdrawal cancelled on: November 27, 2017, 12:06:25 PM
Well it's look like a scam to me, if they can't honor their faucet players, they don't deserve the real players. I would like to see your emails, just to see the both sides of the story. I understand the rule of withdrawal, one must deposit but nullifying it is definitely wrong.  You may move this thread to the 'scam accusation' section to get better support.

Can you show me the scam accusation section please?

I can provide the emails there also!

Here is the link : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

You can move the thread too, see at the bottom left corner below the thread, there is a option called 'move topic' you can use that instead of opening a new thread.
932  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Linking fees to fiat? on: November 27, 2017, 11:56:29 AM
So fellow bitcointalk members, we have seen many people complain about 'high fees'. The problem here is that those users only take fiat into consideration, never thinking that it only costs 50k Satoshis for a transaction of an average size.

I was thinking of a solution for this, now i am not a technical person, so i need your input on this, if this is even possible or not. Can the core developers link the fee to say 0.05 cents in fiat terms? So if bitcoin is at 9k it will cost 0.00000555 btc to send a transaction, if bitcoin drops to 8k it will cost 0.00000625 btc to send a transaction and so on. Keeping the transaction fees to 0.05 cents at all times. If the transaction size is greater than 226 bytes and less than 500 bytes it will cost 10 cents and so on.

Is this possible via a soft fork? Should even this be implemented? Or will it work in the long run, i would like to hear your opinions on this.
933  Economy / Reputation / Re: Lauda, Sold bitcointalk accounts, Giving neg for others for same reason. on: November 27, 2017, 11:03:50 AM

934  Economy / Lending / Re: Appeal to my all lenders. on: November 27, 2017, 11:00:09 AM
All my loans are valued in Bitcoins. And I am not adding any additional rates expect from the 0.001 BTC.

The loan could have been repaid at the repayment date, however it was not. If he would have asked me (at the start of the loan) to value the loan in USD, I could have done that.
He didn't.
I'm not saying your 0.2 = 0.2 is unreasonable, I'm saying it's not very realistic to believe letyouearn can come up with it now.

Suggest me how should I improve my post quality and how I can become eligible to get enrolled in campaign.

Well you can startout by helping users in the beginner and meta section, you can watch out for scams in the altcoin/ service announcement section, you can help out users who need technical help and so on. Once you start doing that, Your post quality will improve automatically.  Wink
935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction fees.. on: November 27, 2017, 06:26:28 AM
when you want to compare bitcoin fees with altcoins the question is, can they keep their fee low if the circumstances were the same?
and the answer is no.

first of all most of them won't even be able to handle the amount of transactions that bitcoin is handling on a daily basis.
secondly when their blocks become full and if by a dim chance they were worth $9000+ then their fees would be the same as bitcoin and in some cases even more.

Exactly people need to understand this, the fees will always increase in fiat terms, let's say it costs 10 cents to send a payment on dash network, or 0.001 dash. It will cost the same 0.001 dash if the price reaches 9k per dash. But in Fiat it will seem like 10x more. So technically no coin has solved this issue so far..
936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction fees.. on: November 26, 2017, 05:54:56 PM

Segwit is been taken in bitcoin to increase the block size and due to that number of confirmations will be increased so fees amount you afford for the each transaction will be reduced too.

Wrong! That is segwitx2. Segwit is to optimize the code,  remove out the junk data from the transaction and place it in a separate block, you are mixing two different things. You need to learn more about segwit.

938  Economy / Speculation / Re: what will happen with the BTC, if the dollar falls on: November 26, 2017, 02:02:25 PM
There are specialists who say that the YUAN is going to replace the dollar, what would happen with the cryptography if that happens?

Nothing special, people start using crypto currencies. I don't think Yuan will take over. Instead of pegging it against dollar people will value it against 'real' goods like an egg for a Satoshi and so on.
939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction fees.. on: November 26, 2017, 01:58:06 PM
Hi, Do you think is tehre any interest to reduce the transaction fees for bitcoin? Many alts are focusing on speed and low fees while bitcoin has made little effort.

Well segwit has already technically reduced the fee in half and there is a plan to implement the lightning network in the future so saying bitcoin hasn't made any progress in terms of solving this issue is totally wrong. You can use 30 to 50 sat/byte and use transaction accelerators to get fast confirmations. Also people need to stop associating bitcoin as a perfect solution. Think of bitcoin as the first computer, it wasn't fast but it was the first step towards the right direction.
940  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about privacy ? on: November 26, 2017, 01:13:26 PM
I can't think of a single reason why this thread is in the project development section  Roll Eyes anyway please move it to bitcoin discussion or off topic.

Never Tongue, there is something called incognito mode and 'Do not track' feature. I like to use those instead.

For me i don't care about big corporations, i am just another number in their database, what I am worried about is individuals who can target me for their own benefits. Well i know it sounds hypocritical but there isn't much we can do against them. Except take certain measures which again aren't that useful in the first place.
