621  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Chrome Plugin Developer's Input needed on: September 02, 2018, 09:54:22 PM

I can't tell you much about the cost but this should be possible otherwise how plugins like Adblock, Stylish etc. work? they clearly have to read the page the user is on.

Yup, that's it. If Adblock can do this stuff that means the plugins are able to interact with the page. I will check up with some devs on Fiverr. Let's see how much they ask for what appears to be a simple task. If any developer who is reading this post, PM me with your charges for something like this.

Quote
It shouldn't cost too much since looks like something simple. I would do it for you but my JS is quite bad.

No, worries.

Tom Lee needs to calm down.

Lol, I am afraid it's too late for that...  Grin

Quote
The fact that he blames the futures for Bitcoin's post bull run correction just shows how little he understands of this market. The only reason the shorts at that point accumulated was because everyone with common sense sold the news, plus there is enough historical evidence that the first months of each year have proven to be one of the worst for Bitcoin, which contributes to selling pressure as well.

Exactly, But apparently, he is a 'Wall St Analyst" xD. Don't know how he got that title. He must sound like a troll to the 'conventional' investors.

Ether futures will become a failure with next to no demand. I highly doubt that we'll see the price move, especially with how the myth that huge loads of institutional capital will enter the market through futures has been debunked.

Agreed!

Am novice to the subject of this thread, can you please explain what Bitcoin mixer is all about?

if you weren't busy spamming the OP literally gave a gist of their service and bitcoin mixing. But I guess you just want to hit that Jr.member Rank as soon as you can?  Roll Eyes

You can read more about Bitcoin Mixers here : https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mixing_service

OP is comparing the ads revenue from well-known websites to his non-existent projects.
Does this make sense? no
You can't say "Hey, coinmarketcap is making 10,000$ each hour, let's open a website like CMC and earn like them"
This is completely r-e-t-a-r-d-e-d

Exactly! Plus I didn't want to be rude to the OP, But the 'quality' of his websites are nowhere near the 'quality' of the websites he is trying to mimic/compete with. Making claims like $90K per month is delusional, to say the least. It takes time and money to build up Backlinks, work on SEO and so on. Things don't magically come up on the 1st of page of google. It takes time to get ranked on Google. From what I believe OP is looking for an investment to build these Backlinks and hiring a professional to work on SEO for his websites. Even if the OP gets the investment, The competition is too strong already, I doubt OP will be making 10K per month, let alone the unrealistic figure of 90K per month.

So all you need is a Server to host these websites? I am sure you can get the free amazon tier trial to launch these websites or in your words "Get them online". I Assume you will have access to a credit card. Just put those numbers in here: https://aws.amazon.com/free/ and you will be good. Now, Let me know for what else do you need the investment for?

@lunobird Let's just agree to disagree... don't want to debate over a speculative thing. BTW You are way too pessimistic which makes you sound like a troll.
629  Bitcoin / Project Development / Spam Filter Plugin on: September 01, 2018, 08:48:21 PM
I wanted to know can a plugin interact with the page user is on? What I want to accomplish via this plugin is to automatically ignore the users who have received no merit. So E.g A Jr.member with 0 merit should be ignored automatically or via a click. Can something like this be coded on the plugin? Also, how much will it cost to code this out?
630  Other / Meta / Re: Community generated suggestions to improve the forum (+ eventual voting on them) on: September 01, 2018, 12:48:08 PM
Self-moderated thread extension.

Self-moderation is great but I want to propose an extension to it. Allow the OP to choose who can participate in their thread, E.g if I want to create a discussion thread, Instead of self-moderating it, I would just choose the ranks who can respond to it. It's not a tool to counter spam but it could help in sub-boards like "Bitcoin-Discussion" and "Offtopic".

Over 900 days to ROI with his cheap electric, that's too long.  Maybe for you that's good but to me that's pathetic and you should not encourage others to rekt themselves

900 days is an overestimate TBH. The coins will most likely moon in a year, so OP could technically make his money back in that timeframe. If the coins fail to 'moon', They will continue to grow at least. All time lows have settled in, We are one ETF away from a small bull run. But Anyway I Hope that the OP knows that mining isn't a get rich quick scheme, unlike you who sees 900 days ROI as a bad thing. BTW I didn't encourage him. I said, to do his research on Zencash Nodes which seem more profitable than mining.

Well, Solar Power is one way but it isn't "cheap yet" the ROI for Solar is still about 5-10 years depending on the tax credit in your country and the electricity rate you are paying.

But since the OP is in Europe he will be subsidised. On average a panel has a warranty of 20 years so, 5-10 years for ROI shouldn't really be an issue here IMO.

Quote
As for going ASIC or GPU, I would say GPU is a better way too. But new model of GPU is coming out and I am guessing it would increase the difficulty for all the ALT coin and thus making it unprofitable. To me, both ASIC and GPU is bad idea now.

People who have access to 0.05 KW/h can still make a pretty decent ROI using GPUs, Heck even with my 0.15 KW/h I am still in the green with my rigs.

Quote
GPU is not better. GPU roi is over 3 years now. Stick with the facts plz

I am sticking with the facts, you should stop spreading your propaganda tho...
633  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Advice needed: 80k USD mining adventure on: August 31, 2018, 12:49:36 PM
Moving back to the topic...

@zeric, I am surprised no one has mentioned about going solar or going for coins with POS... You can check out "CrazyDanes" Solar mining thread for more information. I believe a pretty decent Solar farm can be set up with around $30K-$40K budget. As long as you don't have to pay up for energy, you will always be in the ''Green'. Also, I will recommend you to look into ZenCash's Secure Nodes and superNodes. Could be a much better alternative than mining.

Quote
Initially I was planning on a 50/50 GPU/ASIC split, but as the marked looks a full ASIC focus seems the obvious choice to me.

I dunno how you reached to this conclusion, But Getting GPUs is a far better choice than going the ASIC route. There are multiple factors here, Like E.g Warranty. Most ASICs cover around only 180 days of warranty, Plus their resale value is shit. Just look at VoskCoin's recent review about Mining in general, the dude got an L3 miner for around 1600 bucks and a year later it's selling on eBay for around only 150. He only made his money back via Selling it 3x the price due to Bitmain not pumping out enough miners. While a rig of GTX 1080 Tis is still holding up its value. So when you say its an obvious choice I don't know what factors you are taking into account.
634  Other / Meta / Re: Campaign Managers and Bots. The main reason for the SPAM. Solutions? on: August 30, 2018, 05:59:24 PM

There probably should be some dedicated sign campaign mods that are responsible for dealing with campaigns and their spam etc. ICOs should probably have to start contributing to the cost of the spam here as well and maybe that could be used to pay the sig spam mods.

Make another group like "SpamBusters". Assign participants to monitor different Signature/Bounty campaigns and let them review the post quality of users participating in those campaigns. If the member finds out that the manager paid for more than X 'shitposts', They can report their findings in that thread afterwards DT members can review the user's finding and mark those managers accordingly.

E,g If a manager paid for more than 20 Shitposts, Nuke the ICOs thread and mark the manager. There shouldn't be enough breathing room for the managers. 20 Shitposts are way too many IMO, This number can be worked out.

The Thread could as a test for the participants, The participant who reports in most managers could become a 'signature mod'. Would like to hear your opinion hilariousetc.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining VS Rendering on: August 30, 2018, 03:34:22 PM
Will there be enough work or guaranteed work to cover 7/24 instead of mining?

No, They explained it earlier, They will use mining as a backup, So when there won't be any jobs running, The software will mine for you. Expect most of the time being spent on mining. An Average commercial would take a mere hour or two to render with 100 GPUs. As I said in my previous post Unless they land every single Animation studio out there, there isn't much stuff to render.
636  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-08-28] BTC Price Approaches $7,000, Tom Lee Predicts Explosive End Of Year on: August 30, 2018, 01:07:12 PM
oh great, tom lee is bullish again. Roll Eyes i want to know when he's bearish---then i can be confident that the bottom is in.

i thought he'd started to tone it down as we head into Q4. he was stuck in euphoria mode most of the year, and had finally started to backtrack on his "$25k by end of year" calls.

i guess all it takes is a little mini uptrend on the daily chart for him to start calling for a new ATH again. permabulls gonna permabull. Roll Eyes

It makes me think that Bitcoin community is a part of the problem with volatility - everyone is waiting for it to end so merchants and consumers can finally adopt Bitcoin, but then every time Bitcoin goes a few percent up or down, everyone start screaming "to the moon" or "bear market". Such hysteric reactions only contribute to volatility and it would be better if people calmed down, especially the crypto news sites who spit their junk technical analysis articles every day.

That's cuz the 'community' no longer sees bitcoin as a currency but rather an 'asset' or an 'investment' which will give them a nice ROI in a short timeframe. It's a hard pill to swallow but that is the reality. The 'vision' of Bitcoin being used as a currency has been long lost, only things like Lightning network can revive it IMO. I have hardly seen articles being promoted around which showcase the use of bitcoin/altcoins as a currency, All we hear about is "this shitcoin gained X % in 24 hours" etc leaving behind the real news. The whole Crypto News sphere is a mess TBH.

There is an important difference. Dummy accounts can't affect the market price but real orders always do.

Hmm, this is indeed a unique standing point for your app. You guys should focus now on the learning part of the app. Unless you just want to make a game where friends get together for fun to manipulate the charts, you guys won't capture a large enough audience. Even with the learning part of the app, The people willing to learn something like this in the Cryptosphere are quite low TBH. Anyway, Good luck with your project. Smiley

preferably limited only to Full member and above to avoid too much abuse) who they trust,

A far better idea would be to only allow members who have at least XX merit above their "Default" merit which was assigned to them to vote, this should keep things pretty fair.

By doing so the level of hierarchy would be avoided and there'll be no more bullying by DT1 members, but "bullying" by DT members will continue to exist.

God Damnit! Another Trust Thread. To all geniuses out there! We know 'Trust system' has it's flaws, it's not perfect! nobody claimed it was perfect! But it's what keeping this sinking ship afloat. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure this out. What irritates me the most is people crying about 'trust' being an issue don't propose a solution to the 'problem'. @Coolwave Do you have any revolutionary ideas to "decentralize trust"? I will be more than happy to hear about them. You will be the next 'Satoshi' if you can successfully decentralize trust.

I would like to hear your opinion. Do we need a game that allows newcomers to understand complex exchange terms and charts simply by playing and without fear of losing significant amounts of money?

I don't want to be that asshole but don't the dummy accounts serve the same purpose? To Learn without having the fear of losing money? IMO you guys should focus on making it a 'fun' game like "Adventure Capitalist". There are already brilliant trading apps which teach you different techniques and can take you from being a mere beginner to a professional trader only if you are willing to learn. Do you guys have any sort of plans to incorporate something like a campaign where a player would learn different techniques and terms related to trading, it would "essentially" 'complete' your app.
