1041  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: ELECTRUM: How to create multiple offline wallets each with a different address? on: November 03, 2017, 05:58:43 AM
Hey OP You can read this thread, it explains how to create multiple wallets from one seed, Also i will recommend you to go through all of it as you don't want to mess up anything while doing this. Good luck!  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1953176.msg19403711#msg19403711
1042  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: ELECTRUM Synchronizing since days; can't receive BTC on: November 03, 2017, 05:44:11 AM
On which platform are you currently on, Windows or linux? Also do you have some sorts of antivirus installed? What i can assume is that your firewall is blocking electrum to communicate with the servers. Are you using the default windows firewall? or by any chance have you installed anyother firewall which comes with your antivirus? It may be the issue behind this.
1043  Other / New forum software / Re: Tagging / Mentioning in new forum ? @Example on: November 02, 2017, 10:17:03 AM
I don't see this feature getting implemented anytime soon, It will just put ton of additional load on the servers, I don't think theymos will be doing it, Imagine searching through a database of A million plus users each time you use the @Search feature. Plus along with this it will require additional development of the notification system, which is a challenge in it self. It will also cause a lot of spam, Users like Lauda etc getting tagged in every other thread.
1044  Other / Meta / Re: My account (AirFlame) got hacked on: November 02, 2017, 09:28:51 AM

Well this proof might work for us, but admins have set a requirement which you need to fulfil, just follow the instructions in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0, just like OmegaStarScream has mentioned if you want to recover your account. If you need help with signing an address, you can follow this guide https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=990345.0
1045  Other / Meta / Re: REPLY VS POST on: November 02, 2017, 09:22:56 AM
Does replying and posting are the same to increase my activity? I just notice that when I am replying to a post, it increases my activity number. Can someone confirm this?

Just like engrshu said 'reply' is also counted in your activity, but keep in mind that you can only earn 14 activity every 2 weeks. So even if you reply to 50 topics, your activity will only increase by 14 after 2 weeks.
1046  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would you sell your ETH to buy BTC right now? on: November 02, 2017, 08:18:05 AM
I've been considering selling my ETH all day to put into BTC. Just can't make up my mind

Well first of all this topic belongs in the trading discussion section, As for what you should do, Nobody can help you with that, We don't know what the future holds, Maybe BTC will crash right after hitting the $7000 mark, or it may skyrocket to $30,000. So its a risk, Trading always is, What i can recommend to you right now is, don't invest any amount which you can't afford to lose. BTW if i were you, i would wait till this 2X drama is over.
1047  Other / Meta / Re: Buying or selling bitcointalk account give you negative trust, agree ? on: November 02, 2017, 05:37:06 AM
Its not about being legal or illegal, but its a question of morals. Its morally wrong to sell something which can cause huge loss for the community later. Also that section was for other accounts not bitcointalk.org accounts. Majority of accounts sold are just for the purposes of spamming the forum through signature campaigns and the accounts sold with positive trusts are used for scamming people, its that simple. So i think people deserve the negative trust for doing something immoral.
1048  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin2140.com - Looking for feedback, please on: November 01, 2017, 03:07:05 PM
I like the theme, its clean and simple. There is no favicon that's the only thing missing, other than that the website looks good. Also include multiple tip jars Wink Just make sure you don't run out of funds to keep this project going. I will recommend you to use something like Adsense, to cover up the hosting and domain charges. I have one question thou, How do you plan to promote it? Oh and Good luck with your project mate.
1049  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin - Graduation thesis on: November 01, 2017, 02:40:50 PM
What subject are you studying? Depending on what it is I'd recommend taking more of a blockchain approach rather than just Bitcoin itself. That enables you to talk about further technologies and practical uses as well as mentioning ETH too.
But again, it really depends on your course title.

Exactly people fail to realise that it is actually the blockchain which is really the key which makes Bitcoin what it is. People really need to learn more about blockchain and how it can be implemented to achieve different things. As for OP, i totally agree with AT101ET, Do Blockchain instead of Bitcoin. It will help you understand bitcoin more clearly. Good Luck.

Here is a subject for you to research on.

How blockchain can be used for ticketing.
1050  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-11-01] Bitpay to Suspend All Services During the Segwit2x Hard Fork on: November 01, 2017, 02:21:09 PM

Segwit2x chain will have the support of majority of miners

Well the miners aren't the only users of the bitcoin Wink, We too have our say in it, Good luck mining a worthless coin that nobody will be interested in, Just like Carlton Banks said, I hope they have some source to create electricity out of thin air else I don't see them sustain their mining operations. I do agree with bigger blocks but right now its not the right time to implement it, Especially not without the core team.

1053  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Create Decentralized/Open Source Artificial Intelligence instead? on: November 01, 2017, 10:56:24 AM
I think you don't understand the blockchain technology properly, Once the blockchain is on AI's drive it won't need the rest of us to function, Blockchain is the same data across all pc's not divided up data. So basically if it wanted to destroy us, it would. There will be no fail safe mechanism. As for machine learning and AI, that is something worth doing.

1056  Economy / Speculation / Re: Amazon, MicroSoft ,Apple, etc on: November 01, 2017, 08:49:51 AM
Ayy exactly, People need to understand that Blockchian is something bigger than Bitcoin, Satoshi has brought forward a technology which can have an impact on us as a specie. I hope more people realise this, Bitcoin is not the end game, Blockchain adoption should be.
1057  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: bitcointalk.org everyone is invited on: November 01, 2017, 05:20:56 AM
Are you sure you mean popular? Cuz Alexa Ranking shows otherwise, it doesn't even have stats for the last few months, Also your website doesn't even get ranked in the global position. How are you expecting someone to invest 100 BTC on it? Are scammers are really getting this lame these days that they don't even put in the effort. If you say your website isn't a Scam then i have few questions for you.

1) What is the purpose of your website?
2) What are you offering to people who will invest?
3) If you don't have traffic now, how are you planning to get it?

If i don't get a valid answer by 24 hours i am marking your account.
1058  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: http://earnmybitcoin.com : Giving you FES - A quality faucet claiming experience on: November 01, 2017, 04:58:14 AM
Well whats the point of this? Faucet owners too want to make some cash right? How will they generate any revenue if they use less ads ? Less ads will mean even lower earnings for the faucet users. it doesn't makes sense to rank a faucet. Also people who are earning like 30 satoshi for a captcha don't care about user experience. Anyway Good luck!

1060  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoBuzz on: October 30, 2017, 04:21:08 PM
I will be the one who breaks it to you guys but i don't think your forum will get any traction if you are not willing to spend a lot of money on it. I tried something similar with a gaming forum, promoted it in front of 100,000 gamers, i offered them a reward for posting but it was low, all we got was 30 members. So unless you have serious amount of money to burn through Don't expect people to come. At least not in a year at least.  This is my experience but you can try, i wish you all the best.
