1001  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GMO.JP Speculation on: January 23, 2018, 06:36:10 PM
Ah, okay. Thanks for the info.
So it seems they have chosen a similar road for fund raising and miner sales as the Russian company group called RMC (Russian Miner Coin).
1002  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GMO.JP Speculation on: January 23, 2018, 06:20:22 PM
Nice to see them having progress in the R&D.  Smiley

I sent them a e-mail to ask if they are selling those boards and if they would sell me one for a review here at the forum.

Here is the original news article at GMO.jp:

1003  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain not replying any tickets from over 4 days on: January 23, 2018, 06:00:10 PM
Yeah, I've picked up my shipment numerous times from a local subcontractor company terminal.
This particular local company is a subcontractor for both Fedex and DHL.
They even pretty much always call me when they have got my shipment and ask me if I would like to pick it up myself
or if they deliver it to my door during their deliver routine.
1004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: January 23, 2018, 12:16:53 PM
They are actually far more worse with their acts than Bitmain, if they go through with a soft fork that only allows using Obelisk hardware.

That would be a big ass centralization.

1005  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: January 23, 2018, 12:29:23 AM
What has me a little concerned is that there was a notice from BM that they are out of the office until 26th January. Something about an offsite company mtg.   If that also includes the shipping folks, then this might be a long wait.

Nothing to worry about that, this event is the reason

I don't think logistics guys are participating the event.
1006  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [40+PH] KanoPool kano.is BEST 0.9% fee PPLNS US,DE,JP,NL,NYA 🐈 on: January 23, 2018, 12:26:36 AM
Guys, I have a 13.5 Th/s S9. But since I changed settings to sg.kano and shut the window of the balcony a little bit it's now always over 14 Th/s. Temps are 67, 60, 60 and GH/s avg is 14,008.

Is my miner doing too much and killing its longevity or it's completely normal..? I used to keep the balcony window wide open and temps were like 60, 50, 50 or something like that and it always hashed around 13.5 Th/s. Kano.is website is registering my miner's hash rate at around 14 to 15k.

Thanks guys.

Nothing to worry about.. you're fine.
1007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [NEW] Bitmain Announces Antminer A3 on: January 22, 2018, 10:53:07 PM
As there is no firmware available yet from bitmain I ask it over here:
If one that received an A3 already can make a copy of the filesystem (tar gz it and SCP) and can upload it to mega and share the link (PM me) I would be really thankful and give a 0.5 LTC or 0.1 DASH reward to the first one sharing this.

I can give it a shot, when I receive my unit from Fedex in Thursday (most likely).  Smiley
1008  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitmain - Have they changed their Repairs site ? Is this Legit ?? on: January 22, 2018, 08:14:50 PM
BitmainWarranty, currently known as Myrig.com, is a separate company, it is not part of Bitmain.

They are located in Denver, Colorado, USA.

They have a service for paid out-of-warranty repairs for Antminer hardware.

They also sell mining hardware and offer hosting service.

They are mentioned in the Bitmain repair guide, part 4:
Quote
4.      Instructions for out of warranty repair
If your machine is out of warranty you can send the parts or machine to Bitmain for paid repair,

To send the package to Bitmain for paid repair:
                         a. Please contact us first before returning for repair.
                         b. Please create a repair ticket.
                         c.  The bill will be sent to you once the machine is repaired. Be sure to pack parts well before shipping out.
                         d.   Be sure to pack parts well before shipping out.
If the boards get damaged during transport, we cannot repair them.

You can also send the faulty parts to Bitmain Warranty in the United States. Bitmain Warranty is a separate company. You can contact them at support@bitmainwarranty.com.

1009  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon 8 official specs released on: January 22, 2018, 08:07:00 PM
@fanatic26

I can confirm that it is a legit message from Steven.

It's a typo. It should say that the A841 performance should range around 13TH and 1.2 kW.
1010  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Video: identifying and attempting to fix an asic miner on: January 22, 2018, 07:20:00 PM
Yeah corrosion all over, I think he said the owner placed the miner in front of an air conditioning unit or something
<snip>

The owner was a big idiot..  Undecided
1011  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Replacement fans for S9 on: January 22, 2018, 06:59:02 PM
For example, Delta QFR1212GHE and Sanyo 9GV1212P1J01 are good quality cooling fans for a S9 replacement fan.
1012  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: January 22, 2018, 05:04:26 PM
Yeah.

What is weird IMO at the moment is....

This:
Here is a picture.   Cheers.  Notice a dragon in the background? Smiley

https://imgur.com/a/4tXR6
400x267 pixels picture. Really?

Yup because guys like you can't go zooming in.  You can clearly tell its not an S9.... Wait til the video/pictures come out.  Cheers.

And then this, after I finally got a better look at the dragonmint:
This partnership with Myrig.com is the most positive thing that has happened so far,

but I'm affraid their retail price will be really really high, the same as with the S9 miners.

Some new images are uploaded in the Myrig.com shop.

I managed to find the high-res images, they were 'hidden'.

See this Imgur album for the picture found at DragonMint product page: https://imgur.com/a/WaHLd

We can finally have a slightly little better look at the miner.

For cooling there seems to be two pieces Delta TFC1212DE, front and back, in a push-pull configuration.

And I think I now know why the miner web configuration page was just like with the Innosilicon A5 and A4+.
The DragonMint miner has the exact same controller board.
See it for yourself, here is a picture for comparison: https://i.imgur.com/jxHeSP6.jpg

Also the steel case tube looks a lot like the one Innosilicon uses for the A5 and A4+.

Maybe the Halong Mining actually has a subcontract for these miners to be manufactured by Innosilicon?

And another design comparison here (pay attention to the controller with this image as well): https://i.imgur.com/a9sZcJa.jpg

I surely can't be the only one who sees these similiar design details?

One detail to also pay attention  is that the Innosilicon control board uses reversed PWM signal for the cooling fan control.
This method is not that commonly used.
Delta TFC1212DE are cooling fans that are controlled with a reversed PWM signal.
DragonMint and Innosilicon A4+, A5 miners use these cooling fans.
This detail also supports my theory.

1013  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: January 22, 2018, 02:31:23 PM
Yoshi has always made good to me on every deal I did with him.
Sometimes slow but always good.

So I will wait and not call it a scam.
If he makes good on the deal I have with him I will post so. My deal is for 4-5 miners. In late March early April.

I can wait to pay until Late March.
I can use pp or cc.

So I donít have anything to say until late March.

Once I pay I will post.
Once they ship I will post.

So sixty days from now I will post here.

Hope everything goes well, thank you for the effort Phil!  Smiley

When/if you get it, can you compare it with the pictures and details I posted earlier in this thread?
I'd like to know if it has Innosilicon hardware inside (control board at least, most likely).
1014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Genuine Bitmain Or Not ? on: January 22, 2018, 01:32:03 PM

I've had this feeling that the pcb design is robust, so it is most likely the BM1384 failing if anything?
