Nice, that's some cool tinkering. Glad to hear that the A741 is working great.

Does reflashing the firmware fix the issue? I visited Cryptouniverse guys Thomas and Stefan in Vienna, Austria and we did some tutorial videos that support the documentation. Stefan made this quick video for the reflash process. How to Reflash your Avalonminer 7xx and 8xx Controllerhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCMklnJ5zFoAll videos are available at Cryptouniverse's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCInEqiW0nEVRtynoSRipp4QI'm going to do some updates to this guide and also add videos for each chapter.

I'm still pissed that they sold first A5s at 10000USD and they don't think they did anything wrong in first place.
It is my worst miner investment ever, I don't think I'll ever make any worse decision than buying a A5 unit.
I haven't received any compensation.
I haven't received any coupons.
Nothing.
Same story with us. Sorry to hear it happened to you too. If Innosilicon really cared about creating long term customer relationships they would have treated us differently. They knew that delay would cause us to never become profitable on those machines as difficulty shot up. Yet they would rather keep that one time sale/money and screw those customers never to have them to return. Maybe it's a cultural thing and they just don't have the same view of customer service as we do in the US and other parts of the world. All I know is I recommend my customers and friends to steer clear of Innosilicon because of what happened to me. The premium we paid was BECAUSE of the early delivery, not because the machine itself would be worth that long term. Their failure lost many customers for life I'm sure including me. Our risk was/should have been a DASH price collapse or unexpected difficulty increase before and following on-time delivery, not the delivery time itself. The delivery timeline was their responsibility and failure. Maybe they are making the right business choice though. There's so many newcomers to the space they might not need sales from previous customers to support themselves? They replied me via pm here, but I am still waiting for the follow up, whether there will be any compensation or not. And I'm still waiting for this follow up. No new information has been sent to me.

I get what all the fuss is about for the BTC, LTC exchange rate being off or in favor of Innosilicon buy a few hundred bucks. That does feel as if we're being penalized for paying in crypto, a little ironic for a crypto ASIC manufacturer. We do have the option to pay USD via Bank Transfer to get the exact value listed which is what I did. I suppose some will have to sell some coins and transfer into fiat but that is an option. Hopefully, Innosilicon can implement a current value tracker of BTC and LTC in the near future. I'm interested in what the "Now Offering Discount" is that is handled by the Marketing/Sales Team for the D9? Is this a coupon? Earlier Ship Date? A bonus MINER!?! wishful thinking. I've had all my emails answered within their business hours in China, pretty happy with the Support so far. Thanks Innosilicon! Looking forward to my D9, please don't let us down with the ship date!! As you've seen, many have noticed the obvious Specs inline with Halong's B52 and B29 and your S11 and D9. Can you shed some light on the topic? Are you partners with Halong, if so who's manufacturing? Are these miners using Samsung 10nm chips? Can we expect any of these questions to be answered, please!? If not, I revert back to my original question, what's the "Now Offering Discount" mean? Everyone and their mother knows this. Just haven't heard either company admit this publicly. Hello, D9 used to sell for 10800 USD. And now you can get one D9 with 6800 USD. This is big discount. Did you just admit that the D9 and Halong Mining's B29 are the same thing? They are the same thing. Everyone and their mother knows this. Just haven't hear either company admit it publicly. I think inno is halong as well but I dont think they will admit it considering the problems that occur with the A5. inno should do the correct thing and compensate buyers of the A5 instead of just provide lip service. And calling the SIA coin miner an S11, this is on purpose isnt it? Inno does not even have an S-range item. This is to hope to confuse some buyers into thinking it is an antminer S11. This might also work out in future when a real S11 comes out. This is just cheap and unethical.... I suppose it will work. Some people will make mistakes, especially in secondary marketplaces.... Inno promised to get back to me about a possible compensation, but I have not heard anything yet.

I visited Cryptouniverse in Vienna, Austria and we made few tutorial videos in co-operation to support the AvalonMiner documentation. Thomas and Stefan were great guys and I was so happy that I was able to visit them. Here's the video where I talk through how to disassemble a A741 unit. Avalonminer 741 Disassembly Guidehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1W_BO1PimlAAlso rest of the AvalonMiner tutorial videos can be found at Cryptouniverse's Youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCInEqiW0nEVRtynoSRipp4Q

I'm not offended. It's just that usually if one posts a guide, it is made by him and it is not just a official guide which in most cases actually lack some of the useful information. I mean it wouldn't make sense if for example I make a review/guide documentation for some Antminer model and then I would just give a link to Bitmain website so you are able to download their user guide .pdf document.

Okay so you copied my title formatting, but I don't see how this thread is a guide?

Yep. Exactly what I meant by saying 'additional supplies'.

Hmmm... Bitmain building a network of AI chip miners. Bitmain = Skynet? (Terminator movies)

It will always be a fan boy war between all these different manufacturers.
Just like XBOX guys versus PLAYSTATION guys.
I personally like the AvalonMiners and Canaan best at the moment because they are the most robust and customer friendly choice available at the moment.

.. Thank You Innosilicon
Now that is something you don't hear every day.

Yeah, I see no point asking for merit.
Don't worry, you will get some merit points from other members if you post some nice and useful content here at the forum.

It would be nice to have a look at side by side comparison, and see if the Halong and Innosilicon altcoin miners are exactly the same design.

Why did you have to create a new thread for one small announcement? It doesn't make any sense, it only clogs the forum. Here is a quote, So I have been in contact with Halong via MyRig. They have confirmed that are super backlogged on orders. Originally they had planned for April Batch 1, 2 and 3 to be the 1-10th, 11-20th and 21st-30th. However, due to some manufacturing difficulties they haven't been able to do any of this. The current plan is to start shipping April units on the 30th. Batch 1,2,3 will all ship in that order, but in rapid succession. The goal is to have everyone having miners by May 10th. Its possible you might get earlier, they said april 30th + or - 10 days, but more than likely + and not -. Also, just a reminder for anyone who ordered the X series, make sure to get a refund (67% have been processed according to them) or exchange for another unit that they have. All exchanges have an ETA ship date of May 15th. Feel free to merit me so I can get member status

That's a cool story hardware -wise , but using that miner pretty much requires 'free' electricity nowadays.

Cool, looking forward to hear more from both you and buysolar.

..<snip> Remember that Kodak tried to offer their own bitcoin mining ASICs which were simply a rebranding of bitmain ASICs?
Wrong. Kodak rebranded WhatsMiner M3 miners as their own 'Kodak KashMiner' miners.

HP Common Slot series (DPS-1200 FB A for example) server power supplies are very robust and usually quite reasonably priced.
But you need to know what you are doing and buy some additional supplies if you use a server power supply in a GPU rig.
The DPS-1200 FB A will have a reasonable noise level if you are not having a 100% power capacity load.
