1881  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: D.F. Storm 12cm on Antminer S7 on: January 08, 2018, 02:03:51 PM
^Yeah.

You'll need to underclock the S7 a lot, if you want to use the Enermax DF Storm fans with it.

1883  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: January 08, 2018, 11:22:48 AM
Once you've received your bitcoin mining hardware, you'll need to download a special program used for Bitcoin mining. There are many programs out there that can be used for Bitcoin mining, but the two most popular are CGminer and BFGminer which are command line programs.

This is completely useless post.

You don't need to download anything when mining with the S9.

It comes with the built-in software, which includes a Cgminer software fork called "BMminer".

You access the S9 via the web configuration page using a web browser.

Will u still sell Avalon 741 or its just 821?
I do believe they already sold the last batch of 741s.

Yeah, Cryptouniverse has already mentioned that the next sales will be the A821 pre-order sales.

What I personally have liked among all the different S9 models is the 11.85 Th/s S9.

It's in the nice sweet spot with the 1200W power consumption.

Please contact Bitmain via a support ticket, if these tips are no use.

I doubt it is the Sophon, they just recently got the 28nm BM1680 chip ready for the Sophon project.

Yeah, having a Gh/s scale miner could be important for the marketing.

I smell other new miners coming soon from competitors (Bitmain, BW.com ...).

It looks like 2 a4+ glued together.

Yes, I already said this exactly.
The pic they put on the twitter announcement was from the side and first I didn't see it. When I saw what they actually did... Smiley Probably the same hashing boards?

Yeah, it is most likely pretty much the same hardware inside the A6, than in the A4+ miner.

They can cut costs by putting two A4+ units as a one package, only need to use one controller.
1893  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: January 06, 2018, 08:17:49 PM
This was posted in the T9+ thread and it is interesting news.

According to Digitimes, TSMC has received an urgent order from Bitmain for 100k 12nm HPC (high performance computing) chips at the beginning of 2018. 10k chips will be delivered every month in Q1 2018 and more in Q2.

I looked up in the internet and found a news article, though it is not the original one-
http://news.8btc.com/bitmain-urgent-order-100k-12nm-chips-from-tsmc-in-2018

I was unable to find the original news article wrote by Digitimes.

Damn it, I missed the last batch because I was only following Twitter. How much did Bitmain charge for the last batch of S9? Is it still only BCH? thx

BCH payment only, and the price was 2320 USD

We have already listed a number of suggestions,
but those have all been denied by Halong Mining.

No photos.

No video.

No review (promojo where are you?)

Nothing.

All denied.

@floala
Here are latest instructions that I got a while ago from Hyperbit to upgrade the firmware to a new firmware including a English GUI.
PDF document at my Mega.nz cloud: https://mega.nz/#!VxVUGKgI!7NTQlT6FJuwoo3rkacMDM9ByyUh7mpkOfJq0Bw3OPLQ

It is an easy process when you follow the instructions very carefully.

Would this provide any help to your issue?

Hi

Does the AvalonMiner 741 allow you to mine any cryptocurreny for example etc or ltc or bitcoin only?

Kind Regards

Rashid

Eth or etc --> no.
Ltc --> no.
Bitcoin --> yes.
Any other SHA-256 algorithm based crypto --> yes.

I kind of smell Bitmain coming soon with a new Antminer L series miner,
Inno most likely also wanted to step in to the Gh/s scale game, so that they look good next to the competitor.

Phil, yeah I agree that it would be a lot of units, a lot of money and a lot of work.

I understand if you rather pass this after the outcome with the Avalon group buy.

GPU's might be the best choice for most altcoin miners at the moment.
