Yup.. this has turned into nothing more than DRK crypto-fiat spinoff, minus the insane ninja launch, instamine and reward reductions.

It's not really a spinoff, spreadcoin will recreate masternodes from the ground up, striving for more decentralization and competition.

Lets recreate the nodes instead. Wink

Just as DRK's game changers, these "improvements" are mainly there to benefit the insiders and /or the whales.

Will a truely decentralized crypto plzzzzzzzzzz step forward !

But to have a strong network of MN's we need "whales" to contribute large amount of SPR to MN's.

Whats wrong with one person having 10% of 1000 MN's? This makes it harder for someone to gain majority over the network, keeps the coins off the market and provides a service to everyone.

If you want the capability's of MN's, then we need an incentive for holders to host MN's.

Will this benefit SPR holders? YES! I hope it does, for the sake of the MN network.

Here is another animation I made. This one is much better than the other one I made. If you like my animation and have some spare Spreadcoins then please donate. Address is in my signature.

The image should appear soon.

Edit:

Oops the words appeared wrong. Hang on...
And thanks for the 10 spr whoever that was.

I'm not advocating smashing darkcoin lol, but i can see that time has gone into your gifs

Are we really at 5.7GH?!
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 12, 2015, 11:38:58 PM
Network hashrate nearly touching 5GH/s!

Does that mean that I should lower my buys then? Because more miners going to dump? or does anyone wanna dump some SpreadCoin to me? Smiley

Doesn't matter the hashrate, only 9000+ coins a day regardless of hashrate.

If anything, miners are losing out on SPR if the hashrate goes up. And if they want x SPR in x time... They will have to go to market Smiley

Hey guys, I just created a Spreadcoin forum.

Here is the URL:

http://spreadcointalk.site90.net/

I will eventually move the site to paid hosting and use spreadcointalk.org or whatever everyone wants.

Enjoy!

What are the costs to make it spreadcointalk.org?

I'll donate 1000 SPR to the fund.

I'm against giving part of the block reward to any foundation, this is like premine. No matter how transparent it would be it would still look unfair to many people. The better way is donating.

Fair enough.  My suggestion would be for you to start an address now that we can send coin to.  It's much easier to talk people into donating when the coin is in its early stages like Spread is.

A good initial war chest would be $1,000,000.  Looking at a forward valuation of $10.00 per coin (I expect SPR to go well beyond that) that means 100,000 SPR.

If you setup an address, I will donate the first 1,000 SPR and once 75,000 SPR are donated, I will donate an additional 25,000 to bring it up to 100,000.

Just the act of buying SPR helps MrSpread and Spreadcoin's development.

I'm all in faver of raising capital for the project, but can't we figure something out that's more economical than raising 100k SPR? I just can't see it happening?

We keep talking about ideas, we back MrSpread and give him input/feedback, we shout and scream about Spreadnodes/instantx as they land and all will be well   Cheesy

touch wood.

You should write the prospectus and marketing plan for SPR.

"Dear investors, we are going to shout and scream about Spreadcoin please invest lots of money thank you"

I'd rather that than a "fund" being setup to purchase pr.

The coin/dev speak for themselves, real long term investors will see this over time...

It's already happening, i found SPR at 0.00015 and hashrate at about 1.5gh/s... 3 weeks later and the ecosystem is 200% bigger.

I think giving up more then 5% of the block reward to the "foundation" is way too much. I would definately support 1%

How about 0%, because everything else goes against decentralization?

Is it just that you guys don't understand decentralization, or that you don't particularly like it? Or don't see any value in it?

Listen, it's not negotiable!  Smiley

Throwing our principles out of the window at the first opportunity or what?

Has bitcoin ever seriously considered such "foundation block rewards" ?

No. Do a hell of a lot of "shitcoins" discuss and embed them?

Yes.

Case closed.

I agree, sod all of this 5% to the dev fund! If you want to help the Dev, donate directly to his wallet.
Nothing should be coded to accommodate this! No matter how much i want to see SPR succeed!

I hope MrSpread has a reasonable stash of SPR that will increase in value over time, then he can personally keep himself going.

When I speak of a, "Development fund" I do not speak of the money going to Mr. Spread.  This would be a business development fund that could be utilized for anything from raising capital by doing private coin placements with accredited investors to hiring top of the line marketing teams to bringing on additional developers to acquiring other coins.  It provides all sorts of leverage and ability for Spreadcoin in a highly competitive environment.

In 5 years SPR marketcap is $20billion.

Alot has happened, and SPR is best coin out there.

MrSpread has left development and abandoned ship.

The "dev fund" continues to accumulate funds (and alot of them).

We cannot contact MrSpread.

We cannot shut down the dev fund, as it's hard coded.

What do we do?

Seriously there is only 9BTC worth of spread for sale on bittrex?

Edit: Or is it just the sheer amount of buy orders taking all the space?

Why all the Darkcoiners started gradually selling Spreadcoin and buying Darkcoin in last couple of days? Are they hoping for some major price increase for the 1 year anniversary of Darkcoin? I woke up to find yet again around 5k SPR dumped just this morning  Angry Angry Angry

It doesn't have anything to do with darkcoin.  There is obviously an optimized miner being used by someone and they're selling what they mine.  It's been going on for awhile now.  There was someone on this thread just recently talking about making improvements that is very capable.  Not too hard to figure out that they were successful.

Humm, maybe.

Also to price has jumped quite abit, and mining has become profitable.
We had huge volume the other day knocking the price up. The price is quite high so miners are being drawn over to SPR.

All normal IMO
1174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 10, 2015, 03:08:29 PM
Mr.Spread?

I have an idea regarding the maximum amount of Masternodes possible.

Maybe it should not be a fixed number, but derived by a simple formula:

Available Coins / 1000, rounded down to a whole number.

So for example in this moment the network has 1,540,231 SPR, meaning it would allow for 1540 MNs, but not more.

So this number will slowly grow pretty much every day, but very consistent, helping us reinforce our argument that NEWCOMERS ARE WELCOME here in spreadonia, while still allowing the desired competition among the MNs.

In the year 2100 we will have 20000 MNs, this will be the maximum that will ever be possible.

What do you think?

This way you are not forced to pull an arbitrary number out of your nose, but can instead let the protocol decide and adjust automatically.

Very good idea!

5,000,000 SPR % 5000 MN's is 1000 SPR per MN.

Obviously not all 5 million coins will be in MN's so it would cost less than 1000SPR at all times to host a MN, making it more fair than darkcoin.

Why darkcoin users are happy with litecoin fall?

its not about being happy,
its about proofing a point.

the "value" lies in the things you can do with a coin,
or: the possibilitys.

LTC can do exactly nothing that BTC cant do, and BTC is far more widely accepted.
means: no improvements, no new features.

DRK is about innovation.
Privacy as a core element.

What happens today (and the month before, and a couple of weeks afterwards  Grin) is:
- LTC is havelly overfallued -> price drops massively (yes it was the first alt, is around since a long time, but no innovation) -> what happens on BTC hits LTC even harder
- DRK´s price is pretty stable in ratio to its "reserve currency". (BTC gets hit, but DRK doesnt multiple these hits)

its not about being happy,
its about being glad to made the right decision.

btw: privacy is always the right decision.

Here here!

whale's gonna whale.  Smiley

The 500 BTC he specified is going to be provided by all the sheeple who believe him, who will buy in anticipation of a free ride.

Don't listen to the siren call, especially when it's coming from a whale!

It's a trap!

I wouldn't be surprised if 10% of his btc found there way over here Wink

Many know me from Darkcoin as a technical analysis guy....Just glanced at SPR's short-term chart on Bittrex.... Short-term moon launch looks imminent.
If we get above .00042, .0005 looks to be a lock and above that I'd expect a fast-trading, high volume, short-term mega-spike (ie who knows how high).

6 hours later...we got above .00042 and now are at .0005...We're likely on the precipice here now of a fast-moving, high volume panic-buying spree.
Sell into it? I'd say hell no but then again I'm getting more and more long-term invested with this dev, this community and this coin and i suspect many here are too, so perhaps a tripling or quadrupling of the price is in order to free up some SPR for the momentum traders who are about to discover SPR.

JL

Looks like we're once again lining up perfectly for the next big short-term pop up.

Network hashrate spiking to 4.91GH/s!
1178  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) on: January 09, 2015, 04:33:30 PM
I bought 3000 DRK at price 0.008 !
What am i do ? sell them or hold them ? someone please give a prediction of the future of this Coin .

i would not advise dumping your Darkcoins on Spreadcoin yet. It is gonna spike the price up very fast. We need to make this coin cheap and available to as many people as we can before masternodes and InstantX is implemented. If you wanna buy just try out-of-exchange solution-a trusted dealer. Mr. Spread himself perhaps would agree to help as a trusted side with large amount of purchase.

Yes but I think it is bestjust buying on Bittrex (if you interested in Spread to get those coins) while MN etc. are not implemeted yet. Bagholders are keeping their stash, why sell for less than on the exchange?

Yep, i only see substantial sell liquidity once the price has moved up 20-30%.

Hashrate is at 4.44GH/s!

Everyone's just waiting for MN implementation, and love or hate MrSpreads plans it's going to be fun to watch. Big holders are prob thinking the same.

GL getting those coins.

I have an idea for a meme! A stock floor covered in mini SPR spermmen all screaming to buy their "share" in the MN list.

Brilliant. I thought about SPR spermmen and have a few related memes in preparation. I promise you will laugh your ass off.
I will use those spermmen (half a SPR logo, 1 logo = 2 sperm men) to show how they spread around, how they solo mine (and show how "perverted" it is when bitcoin pool mines), how they become masternodes, etc...
This is going to be so much fun.

Awesome! I can't wait! I will spread some love once you've posted

Currently and for the next few days I am working on darkcoin related cartoons for the upcoming 1 year anniversary of darkcoin.
When this is finished, I will concentrate more on spreadcoin cartoons for a while. ;-)

Well guys, I like your enthusiasm and imput in SpreadCoin.
But... In my opinion this is a bad idea. It doesn't do the logo and Spreadcoin in general justice.
It is not the image that we must create for SpreadCoin.

Meme: good
Sperm men: bad

Anyone else have an opinion on the matter?

I didn't come up with spreamman, someone else did.

I really don't care what you think about what i say, i don't even think the logo looks like sperm lol I just saw a comment on here that said something along the lines of "spremman".

And due to the recent event's in France, i will continue to use the phrase "SPREAMMAN! AWAYYYYYYY"

SPR is up around 200% in about two weeks. But market cap is only around 200k, and good things coming.

Up to you mate.
