Don't worry about these guys.  They don't care about you.  All they want to do is pile on like the followers they are.

Oh but you care so much, right buddy?

I was actually offering sound advice. Unlike the other idiot who told him to get a job and invest more into Darkcoin.

Anyway whatever. I have more important things to be doing than arguing with idiots who refuse to see basic sense

Lol, tell me how buying a small amount of darkcoin every other week with money you have earned from working is bad advise?

It would get him away from trading (Losing) so much and would actually earn money. After paying his bills, buy more dark?

What's wrong with that?

Privet transactions...

How do you achieve privet transactions on the blockchain?

Or are the transactions as privet as bitcoin?
look into librexcoin's innovation for anon

Ok, i know all about Zerocoin/Zerocash.

Do you expect me to be impressed with using this tech?

Zerocash has major problems with scalability.  Blockchain bloat from using Zero would destroy Moors law and make it unrealistic for mass adoption in the long run.

So i guess, blocknet uses librexcoin's blockchain for it's anon transactions? If so, i see librecoin as a liability for blocknet...

Why not use Darkcoin/Darksend?

XC's privacy tech is unrivalled.

XC private payments will be made a service on the Blocknet.

- does this to a blockchain (and somewhat reduces bloat due to atomic multiparty transactions):

That's a lovely picture for me to look at and supposedly be amazed, as my tiny little brain can't handle the awesomeness of XC's blockchain mixing.

Is the code open for me to look at? Are there any independent reviews I can read?

This is pretty important if you are claiming anonymity.

Look I appreciate your enthusiasm but honestly this is really starting to piss me off. Crypto is just sliding into the abyss. People still don't see the need for it, I'm talking your average person on the street. I'm starting to lose hope. It's been a year of decline so far, I've lost thousands of dollars. I feel like a sack of shit. I could have sold DRK at $10 but I held like a fucking moron now I basically have nothing left. The question I'm asking myself is: "How could you be so fucking stupid?"

Literally when I wake up, I ask myself this, and before I go to bed, the same. I will never forgive myself for being suckered into this and will probably die of an ulcer or some other stress-related disease because of it. I am literally going insane because I missed so many opportunities. You only get so many chances in life I think I missed most of mine. Maybe it's time to move off to some foreign country and just fade into oblivion. Life, you beat me. I give up. My ambition has been stripped and I have nothing left. I'm not one to quit but I'm about ready to throw in the towel. I'll never get  ahead and will probably die poor and destitute with nearly nothing to my name.

Thanks crypto.

You know what... You ARE fucking stupid. Not because you invested in Darkcoin or cryptocurrency, but because you invested more than you could afford to lose.

You should not be buying cryptocurrency, gold, or anything in amounts that are disproportionate to your situation, period. That's basic logic and common sense. The sooner you grow the fuck up and learn that very simple life lesson about finance, the better. Yes that might be a harsh thing to say, but guess what... Life IS harsh for billions.

Darkcoin being at sub $2 makes absolutely no sense to me. I have a ton of coins myself, but I'm not going to start bitching and moaning that my life is going to end. And the reason why is because I never bought more than I could afford to lose. I truly do believe in Darkcoin and what it represents and that's why I'm holding to $0 or $1,000. Right now those Darkcoins I have mean nothing to me, other than an ideology that I hope takes off.

And anyone saying something will be x price, or will achieve x are talking out their fucking ass. Don't listen to them, because truth is no one really knows. And if by some miracle they did know, you can be sure as shit they wouldn't be telling you about it

Take care

I didn't invest more than I could afford to lose, but that was months ago and now I need the money. Life changes, shit happens, circumstances rearrange. I can't see months or a year in advance, I'm not clairvoyant. I appreciate you jumping on me like a hyena on a fresh kill, seriously, it's very helpful. But I didn't make 'stupid financial decisions' and am 'grown up.' Thanks for the condescending lecture! What a fucking asshole.

No mate...

Do you work? If not get a shitty job for a few months and move more cash into Darkcoin. Those coins at $10 are now at $1.80. That means for every $10 dollars you spend on darkcoin you get more than 500% more darkcoin for the same money.

Has darkcoin died, no. Is darkcoin better now than RC3, hell yes! So to me this is an epic buying opportunity.

This all happened with bitcoin back in the day. Coins101 is correct, do as he says, he makes sense.

I can't get on

Today I wanted to try mixing 5 DRK at 8 Rounds. But since 3 hours it hangs at 14% now. Text always changes between "Darksend is idle" and "Submitted to Masternode, waiting queue..."
Next problem is, that there are already 0.3251 DRK fees for now.

Any ideas please? I also want to mention that I started mixing at 0.10.15.13 and updated to 0.10.15.16 now.

i suggest you sent your debug.log to Evan as these 0.1 amounts are collateral fees that should only occur when yr client is misbehaving in some way
(for example loosing internet connection or something).

Pls sent your debug.log to evan@darkcoin.io or register and create a post on darkcointalk : https://darkcointalk.org/

Edit :

Darksend Denominations : 0.0125 fees per round (was previously indeed 0.001 but made more expensive to counterattack spam / ddos attacks i think)
Payment to yrself : splitting up fees (sometime 0 .. sometimes 0.001, depending on txtsize i think)

100% your internet connection.

It was happening to me.

Can someone help me please?

I get this error

"inbound port is not open. Please open it and try again. (19999 for testnet and 9999 for mainnet)"

when i use masternode start PASSPHRASE

You have to open PORT 9999 on the server

what command do I have to input?

Depends on your firewall setup. I like ufw, here's how easy it is:
Code:
sudo ufw allow ssh/tcp
sudo ufw allow 9999/tcp
sudo ufw logging on
sudo ufw enable
sudo ufw status

Tried those commands, all i got was...

USERNAME is not in the sudoers file.  This incident will be reported"

I followed taos guide perfectly, and have already had one running no problem.

Can i not just add the :9999 in the .conf file somewhere?

How do you normally switch to root? Do that, then run the commands I posted without the sudo bit. You need to be root to modify your server firewall.

BTW i sorted it, it was my error not the network, duh!

Cheers man

ok I have voiced my concerns and im not going to spend my night arguing this point.
The reason the top 100 wallets have not setup their nodes is exactly because it is work and technical abilities are required.

Which I think is a good thing because that detorres people from becoming a Mega Mn operator ..

I see that as a good thing for the decentralisation aspect of the coin.

I thought that one person having 50 nodes was bad enough as it is..

Then wait till it is even more profitable to run one. See what happens regardless of this feature.

Setting up a masternode isn't technically difficult. There are easy to follow, line by line guides that will get you to the finish line without too much hassle. If you can use the internet, you can setup a masternode.
Still you are not addressing the issue im trying to point out to you guys .. This is not a issue of convenience, it is a security issue.

How can you trust a network that is run mostly by a small number of people ? .. we need allot of small ops

Did anyone ask Atlas what he thought of this ?
or any security expert ... you guys must see this

Say the 400k wallet wanted 400 MN's. He would still have to set up individual instances, add darkcoind to each server, set up payment.

Its still allot of work, all this feature does is adds ease to the MN ops, still lots of work involved.

If i set up a account on Vultr and run a testnet masternode, can i then get rid of the testnet node and run a mainnet node on the same instance?

I want to set up a testnet masternode.

Can i use onyx and just add testnet=1 to the .conf ?

Yes. And open port 19999 for testnet.

port=19999 in .conf?

no, in remote server

Yep ok

What we are seeing is an interesting experiment about human nature. When crypto was first invented most of the people who got involved with it were privacy conscious libertarian geeks who hated the monopoly of rich bankers. These geeks saw these bankers as greedy bastards who didn't give a shit about anything but their profit..

And then things moved faster..crypto started to gain popularity and greater adoption. Each of these new coins started to address a particular problem that the society was struggling with and some were just useless crap created to con people. But these previously liberty loving geeks who hated greedy bankers and their wars, and government bureaucracy and so on became completely different people now. Some of them were running centralized exchanges and gambling with ordinary people's money. Other started to setup pools caring only about profit and nothing else. Without knowing, they become just like the greedy bankers they once hated.

So i gave up asking the pools to update anymore. i think the solution should involve not begging any greedy pool anymore who cares about profit but nothing more. We can come up with a better way of getting things done so that the amazing ideas behind Darkcoin (privacy, freedoms from greedy bankers and tyranny etc) can continue to live.

Hey man, it isn't occupy wall street in here. Lots of profit earned in the free market is a truly wonderful thing.
Bankers making profit direct from tax payers? No free market there.

Mintpal shuting its doors with other peoples money isn't profit. While mintpal was up and running, noone gave a shit about them making profits.

Is there a possibility an old wallet version will show "incorrect password" if you try to send coins from the old wallet? I'm talking a couple months old.
