And does it allow covert use of ASICBOOST? We need segwit now for a new reason: to kill the ASICBOOST scam. Fut of course we wil never get enough hashrate for segwit so we are stuck until UASF.

Im profiting big time with litecoin, I got in after this dip and im already making great gains. Litecoin will go to 50 dollar, 100 dollars, even 300 dollars, because Litecoin doesnt have all the stupid drama and big whales from Bitcoin. We will be rich thanks to Litecoin and segwit!!

Jihan Wu's reputation is objectively over, but make no mistake! /r/btc braindead morons will defend Jihan, Roger and BU until the end. No amount of facts will make them change their minds. They are part of a brainwashed cult.
MMmm looks like Jihan Wu is going to lose more and more supporters with that covert patented anti segwit tech on the ASIC machines he sells... he was ripping off people basically.
That's something I would expect from Jihan Wu, such a sneaky weasel. Im sure Roger Ver knew about this too and they were all profiting from this. BU was obviously a way to keep segwit out of the picture. Bastards!!!

Overall agree with all of your points, indeed it's spot on.
ANYTHING that is not 95% hashrate agreement will create big price fluctuations due uncertainty.
So it's best that it stays as it is. Satoshi designed bitcoin so its insanely hard to change.
We all BTC holders would benefit more if it stays as it is rather than destroying network effect.
I wouldn't mind to see LTC as the scaling coin since it's basically a bitcoin clone.

It's not clear to me how bitcoin replace fiat. Bitcoin is a gold alternative, not really a fiat alternative. In order for Bitcoin to replace fiat, it would need to activate segwit first in order to profit from Lightning Networks in its full capacity.
As of today, segwit doesn't seem possible in bitcoin, but it does in Litecoin. Maybe Litecoin will replace fiat, and Bitcoin will replace gold.

Satoshi Nakamoto is destined to be the first trillionaire in the history of human kind. If we are going to keep going up and it looks like it, bitcoin will reach $10,000 in no (relative) time. As long as BUcoin fears we'll be flying high.
Of course, we are going to somehow activate segwit for that.

Hi Guys, I am very new to bitcoin. I just bought 5BTC. As I am following many blogs so can me know that there are some possibility of hardfork. Some blogposts suggest to store coin in wallets like coinbase or blockchain. In my further research I studied coinbase vs blockchain ( http://coinfunda.com/coinbase-vs-blockchain/)which says that I should have control on some thing called private key. Which is possible in block chain. Now I am worried about where to store my bitcoins safely. I want to store them for 1-2 years. Please help. My advice is that you download Bitcoin Core latest version at www.bitcoin.org and get a full node going. By doing this you support the network and get the most secure wallet (given that your computer is secure). Encrypt the wallet and save the wallet.dat file in several places that you control. In the case of a HF, the price will dump, you will get 5 BTU in the other chain, so what you do is you dump your BTU and make free money. Of course the damage of th BUfork will put bitcoin in a very bad situation that will last at least 2 years to recover. You can look at putting a % in other alts such as LTC or ETH for the time being, good luck.

LTC has not even activated segwit but the rise in segwit support is already showing good gains. As days go by and people catch up with the situation we will see higher prices. Once segwit activates all LTC holders will make some great gains, maybe ATH is coming for LTC.

All alts have been going on the red but we have a clear winner: LTC.
It has been going up along with BTC which makes it a solid pick.
XRP is going to collapse sooner or later and we will see an higher LTC price.

Big big money coming in to litecoin in the following hours. Segwit activation for litecoin is inminent, bitcoin will never get segwit. All transactions will be done in litecoin as it will be faster and cheaper, no reason to waste BTC in transactions when we have litecoin. Bitcoin will remain as hodl gold currency litecoin will be fast velocity currency. Get in now.

Bad news for gold holders, more gold supplies found in the latest hours, bitcoin going up in return.
Im going to be paying attention to the price this week as litecoin's segwit approaches activation, let's see if the grandpa altcoin actually makes bitcoin holders move some of their wealth there to enjoy the benefits of segwit.

Good to see real progress being made in the middle of this FUD storm and the buggy unlimited ridiculousness. If only we could finally get segwit activated to bring bitcoin to the next level... sooner or later we will tho. If the remaining miners don't get with the program UASF will kick in.
Seems stuck at 57-58%
How long you guys expect until it grows to 75%?
What miner pools will switch first to join the majority and get us segwit in litecoin?
Can people buying ASICs really make a change?
We are witnessing the end of BU, now it's the burial comming as segwit rises.
If Jihad Wu does not signal segwit soon, he will be buried too in UASF and PoW change form.
Good writeup. Let's hope that the remaining miners wake up to this reality and activate it.
Glad to see litecoin getting activated too. Time to pick up some cheap coins before it pumps. It's now 50%, only 25% to go!!

Doesn't seem like a dupe, this thread is focused to the matter of Litecoin's segwit, and what happens if its reached, to Bitcoin. I think it's great for Litecoin holders, I don't see how it can't go up in price, considering how all those altcoins pumped, LTC hasn't properly pumped yet. Bitcoin miners may signal for segwit too, once they see the Litecoin beast awaken.

It's obvious that satoshi nakamoto should have more wealth than bill gates. What the hell has bill gates done for humanity other than steal the ideas of xerox and pretty much monopolize a market with it? ridiculous.
