241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forks are highly important on: March 13, 2017, 07:25:03 PM

..what CODE is best for the long term survival of bitcoin for generations to come mean more then some temporary gesture that is meaningless in a few years.

So you are saying you trust a bunch of idiots that survive off copy-pasting 99% of Core's hard work, then everytime they introduce something they somehow always manage to fuck up:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/5z47f3/it_looks_like_chinabu_developers_forgot_to_add/

Good luck, can't wait to dump BUC in poloniex to get double BTC for free.
242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forks are highly important on: March 13, 2017, 06:34:14 PM
Im pretty sure Jihan Wu is state sponsored to cause this shitstorm.

He might be, I don't think so but I have no evidence either way. Claiming that he is or isn't doesn't bear any fruit without actual evidence.

However it doesn't really matter, bigger blocks are something we knew we needed a long time ago. BU isn't when this debate started.

It's obvious BU is being promoted by big pockets which have only one intention: Attack bitcoin by divide and conquer and cause havoc, which is its only weakness as we can see, and it is easy to make it look cool for the average joe if you promise big onchain transaction volume, cheaper fees and faster transactions without side effects.

I think Roger Ver legitimately wants the best for bitcoin and is falling into the trap, he is what we could call "the useful idiot" used to promote the trojan horse. Since he is immature and butthurt at theymos and Core devs, he thinks he is destroying them in the process too, when the only guaranteed outcome is Roger will end up with worthless tokens.
243  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to approach the next ETF? on: March 13, 2017, 04:26:58 PM
we already know what the outcome's gonna be. it's a 100% non event now that's barely worth paying any attention to.

Not really. There is expectation, expectation creates changes in the price, even if they are quick, those are great opportunities to speculate because they are predictable in time, we know exactly when. I think we will see a selloff again, similar to Winklevoss, maybe less extreme.

Of course there's a possibility that nobody gives a fuck and the price stays the same.
244  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Hold in Dash overnight or USDT? on: March 13, 2017, 03:17:35 PM
I wouldn't gamble, and by gamble I mean being outside of BTC for a long time. BTC is now established forever, it's too strong, if you are outside of BTC too much time you may miss your seat to the moon. You have to time really well when you try to short the market otherwise its a big mistake. In doubt always hodl btc.

I would go out of dash ASAP, I don't care if it goes to 100, it may crash tomorrow for all we know. Pump is marketing nonsense.
245  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin on its way to $1,300 on: March 13, 2017, 12:57:02 PM
Is it really the ETF thing that made it fall down for a while? I dont think it is. It is just a normal dump and pump again.
Why are people so scared with that ETF thing? Is it lack of information about funds?
Plus it will not really affect much with bitcoin. Who will join to invest after it is accepted? Small farmers with not a lot of money and other people who got a little to invest their money. I dont discriminate but that is the truth to what will happen after that.

Lol are you insane? Of course it was the ETF. It literally dumped all the way down to around $950 pretty much instantly when the news were released. This was totally timed controlled demolition, the good news is, fear didn't reign for long, it got sold and bought in back so quick, no we are stronger than before the ETF.
246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What SolidX ETF means to the bitcoin community? on: March 13, 2017, 12:05:14 PM
I still don't know what SolidX is really about so an explication is really appreciated, and I want to know how this ETF (which should take place 30th March) is compared to the twins ETF that got rejected two days ago.

It's clear to me that SOMETHING will happen. I think all ETFs trigger a reasonable expectation in the market big enough to cause a change in the price. Of course, the change will be fast, so it will require you to act in the moment. Forget about setting orders, you may lose your BTC, it will go up fast, you must sell and buy QUICK.
247  Economy / Trading Discussion / How to approach the next ETF? on: March 12, 2017, 05:22:39 PM
I've seen people already starting to talk about the next ETF in march 30th.

Will you do the same as the last ETF? (wait until the decision is made, then buy more). Will you sell before buying more, or will you use cash you have?

I would like to sell, but im not sure about when to sell, since we saw a mega pump before the actual decision.
248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Segwit IS the compromise: everybody is equally unhappy with it, including me on: March 12, 2017, 04:18:50 PM
There are tradeoffs for everything and segwit is indeed the right compromise. I don't understand how some people still see the idea of Jihan BU being the ruler of bitcoin a better idea. Sooner or later things will happen and the balance will go towards segwit. Nodes and merchants want it, miners should follow.
249  Economy / Speculation / Re: in 8 years bitcoin didn't rise from $0 to $1000+ because of ETF... on: March 11, 2017, 06:31:57 PM
Good point. People often lose perspective when some event makes the price go up due some expectation of hype towards something that is about to happen, but let's not forget the fundamentals of bitcoin being underrated are still there. Price will keep going up with or without the ETF.
250  Economy / Speculation / Solid X ETF on: March 11, 2017, 04:59:48 PM
So after what we saw yesterday, it is clear that the ETFs are a good opportunity to make some BTC.

In March 30th, Solid X will try to get their ETF passed. We saw that Winklevoss ETF got rejected because SEC "can't regulate bitcoin". I fail to see how the outcome of this one will be any different. So I predict another dump.

The problem is, will people care about this one as much as the Winklevoss one? The Winklevoss are celebrities, I have no idea who "Solid X". There needs to be hype in order to make some cash from speculation.

Well, good luck and don't lose any BTCs, because in 10 years we will be rich so don't forget to hodl what you win.
251  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can we please get a "date" tab in the "Recieving addresses" window? on: March 11, 2017, 04:18:26 PM
Shouldn't you instead be looking at the transactions tab to see what the transactions are and the details of such transactions? That would give you far more detail than just the receiving address.

But sometimes I created some addresses at a particular time that I never used (so it will not show up on the transaction history) that I want to look for for whatever reason. I always label all my addresses, and I would like to have it all ordered in chronological order in the receiving addresses window too, i don't see why not.
252  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Can we please get a "date" tab in the "Recieving addresses" window? on: March 11, 2017, 03:14:54 PM
I have tons of addresses that I've used to receive payments and im going insane trying to figure out the order of those, sometimes I want to check something and seeing it in order of creation would be way more reasonable than just ordered alphanumerically.
253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mentioned in the ETF stream on: March 10, 2017, 05:25:48 PM
I think he knows something for sure. He said "I don't know what this means, but that was what I was told to say" then he laughed. Maybe he is invested in bitcoin and knows that it will get approved? we will see, we should find out soon.
254  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SegWit (25.5%) vs Bitcoin Unlimited (25.2%) on: March 10, 2017, 04:38:42 PM
Bitcoin unlimited can never anywhere because the most important thing is the code, and the team is obviously light years away from the Core team, so you are wasting your time thinking anyone but the idiots that only think about cheap fees are going to be running this abomination called BU.
255  Economy / Speculation / Re: Shorts on suicide watch on: March 10, 2017, 03:55:29 PM
I don't know if the SEC Press Releases site will even have the news, and if you have watched the last few releases.  Some are delayed by almost a day, i.e. one dated the 9th, posted yesterday on the 10th.

but still it will be safest bet to get the verdict

The charts will tell if it got approved or not  Grin no worries haha
that's right if chart will give positive movements we do have a lot of chances to go in, but if not better to make a good assessment
and just keep following and better not to do some action while the decision is not over yet, just for myself though.

Yes, hopefully they will post it straight away on https://www.sec.gov/news/pressreleases Im refreshing it like mad  Tongue Grin

Yep, I have a couple of tabs opened in my firefox, then im looking at this videostream too that some people mentioned in the Poloniex trollbox:

https://www.sec.gov/video/live/2373689294677-evidence-summit-031017.htm

Not sure if its related to the bitcoin etf, but i have opened it, even tho I got tired now and im playing some music.
256  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin ETF confirmed by sauces on: March 10, 2017, 01:52:20 PM
Rumor of the mill is, special chef in restaurant called SEC, told the special VIP clients that the new sauce was ready for global consumption. This sauce will be found all over the place and will be a commercial hit. He told me the sauce is sticky so you must press hard to pump it out of the bottle.

Damn, looks like chef was right. My friend was in the VIP section of the restaurant, and he told me that the chef was preparing some sauce wort $1,300+/ml, I didn't believe such a precious sauce would exist, but it does exist indeed. What will the next sauce price be like?
257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is BU consensus at 75% and isn't it bad on: March 09, 2017, 06:25:07 PM
Who cares about BU? nobody will accept it because Core keeps doing all the hard coding jobs. BU software is always several steps behind. Their coding team is lightyears away from Core's understanding of bitcoin, they will never get anywhere, it will join the XT and Classic trashcan soon.
258  Economy / Speculation / Re: If Price drops after ETF not approved, it's because people are Dumb on: March 09, 2017, 04:53:05 PM
The price shot up over a thousand months before most people even knew about the ETF. What makes you think it will make a difference?

If it's not approved, whales will dump and price will drop... but the panic sellers will send it further. Just HODL. $10k is not far away.

People love to find excuses to trade and profit from pumps and dumps. The ETF is the latest thing for the gambling addicts, they will use this expectation of a dump to actually dump. I hope that the guys that sell off their entire stack get fucked in the ass by the ETF getting approved.
259  Economy / Speculation / Re: Shorting Btc during crash ? on: March 09, 2017, 04:01:13 PM
I am totaly noob on trading but i was thinking that the odds are high at the moment that Btc may start crashing tomorrow...

I was thinking what if i short 1 Btc for example on bitmex with a leverage  20x to x50 or 100 x during the crash ?

Is it very risky ? Cause for me it looks interesting ... what are the risk?

All advises are welcome...

This is bitcoin, an asset that is very hard to predict short term.

And on top of this fact, you are assuming that the ETF will not pass, which nobody knows. Odds means nothing, at the end of the day it all comes to how the regulators wake up that morning. So the ETF may pass and you might go broke with a short position opened. Good luck.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mining centralized on: March 09, 2017, 03:13:09 PM
Bitcoin mining has never been so decentralized as you can see in the pie chart below.

In the past it happened several times one pool to take almost 50% hashrate and even mining operations to have around 40% hashrate, those days are gone now.

How many of those pools are confirmed Jihan Wu pools? People keep posting that image to show how bitcoin mining is distributed across different pools, but how many are confirmed to be property of Jihan Wu?
