321  Economy / Speculation / Re: New down trend. $1000 definitively broken. on: February 24, 2017, 04:08:53 PM
13. Feb

Quote
Today we've permanently broken the $1000 barrier and are staying under it.
It seems a new down trend has been set for the foreseeable future.

With China cracking down on Bitcoin quite hard and people realizinf Bitcoin can technically and economically hold nowhere near the value it has now, a new panic wave has set in.

Will the community take control and continue to develop bitcoin for the future or will we see more dramatic years spiraling down and down?

You heard it guys, 1000 $ permanently broken... UPWARDS Smiley Smiley Smiley

sorry I just had to bring this sh*t up again  Grin Grin

It's good to remind noobs how much of a jackass kwuduck is. All the unfounded FUD, all the time... it's just insane. We see it as comedy but noobs may take it seriously and dump thinking he is right. He hasn't logged in since Feb 19th lol. Im sure he will come back when there is a correction announcing how bitcoin is crashing again.
322  Economy / Speculation / Re: Big ETF pump on: February 23, 2017, 06:27:59 PM
Hi guys, why this extreme pump when there is only a 25-30 % chance of ETF aproval? Nobody wants to miss the moonrocket i guess? But lots of people are getting burned in march if you ask me. Perhaps all those new inversotrs from Africa, India, Russia etc dont care about ETF at all?

ETF being approved is not that relevant. Bitcoin is going up because greedy bankers and politicians are waging a war against cash and attempting to force negative interest rates on numerous countries around the world. Its going up because people are buying it as a store of value. It is going up because for the last few months the supply has been only half what it used to be.

Bitcoin will go to the moon regardless of ETF and probably better without it.
Agree. ETF has nothing to do with the current price rise. It is a pure speculation pump fuelled by the sentiment change on how US economy under Trump will do.
Enjoy the wave while it lasts, but make sure you jump out before it starts dropping.

Everything that goes up, must go down. Welcome to laws of physics, we don't need anyone to tell us that.

The problem is: WHEN. We are at $1160 again, bitstamp price, , actually, its going up as I write is, oh fuck, wait, its... ITS GOING TO BREAK THE ATH!!!!!
$1162 has been hit as I write this comment, I hope i can finish this comment before it keeps going up, since we are only 1 dollar away from hitting the 2013 ATH, 1 DOLLAR!. OH SHIT. $1162.42!! can I finish this message before it goes higher? DAMN. $1162.46 NOW. $1163. OH MY GOD. NOW ONLY 1 CENT BEFORE WE HIT ATH. $1163 UNBELIEVABLE. WE ARE GOING TO CROSS IT ANYTIME SOON.

OH GOD, LOOK AT THE GRAPH, ALL TIME HIGH! $1164! WE DID IT BEFORE I FINISHED THE MESSAGE!!!!!!!!

https://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/bitstamp/btcusd

WE DID IT!!!!!!
323  Economy / Speculation / Re: Millionaires Massively investing in Bitcoin To Make It Mainstream on: February 23, 2017, 05:20:35 PM
Bitcoin is going mainstream, millionaires massively investing in Bitcoin only because to increase the price of Bitcoin and get media attention to make it mainstream.
Actually theres millionaires who invested on bitcoin but it just on hidden way i guess because they dont like to exposed themselves on public but with this kind of action or adoption price will surely rise because bitcoin is really a good investment specially on longer runs.

All the big names in wall street own bitcoin already. If you have friends working in wall street on london city they will agree privately that they are holding BTC and so are their bosses. The conspiracy of stock whales owning BTC portfolios is very real. Im sure real state whales Trump are looking at it already too.
324  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1139.9 resistance broken, 1142.2 hit (Bitstamp) on: February 23, 2017, 04:19:29 PM
We've hit $1160 two times in Bitstamp, all time high is only 3 dollars away ($1163) we need to hit that to make the graph look pretty, then we can continue growing towards $2000. ETF will sky rocket the price, if it fails, it will dip only a bit, so time to buy more.
325  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1390.9 resistance broken, 1442.2 hit (Bitstamp) on: February 22, 2017, 07:39:08 PM
Major discovery on planets 'beyond our solar system' coming from NASA

http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/scientists-exoplanet-discovery-1.3992382

Looks like the power of the next bitcoin pump is so strong that the price will become so big that it will create its own gravitational pull, we will certainly cross the moon and aim for an unknown planet.

The short positions will keep getting destroyed, so pay attention to whalecalls twitter for some fun.
326  Economy / Speculation / 1139.9 resistance broken, 1142.2 hit (Bitstamp) on: February 22, 2017, 06:26:09 PM
Looks like the double top was broken, bullish trend confirmed and continues, any further dips are irrelevant, ATH is now unavoidable, after the ATH gets broken there will be no breaks, moon and jupiter and any possible known planets will not be an accurate indicator of the next big pump. Shorters will die in the attempt. Get ready to take off, party has not even begun yet.
327  Economy / Economics / Re: Death Is The Price of Imperial Money on: February 22, 2017, 04:54:22 PM
I can see the USD surviving for at least another 20 years. After the Trump era is over, we'll see how the big financial crisis was inevitable. Both EUR and USD are under a big wave coming. If EUR fails USD fails, if USD fails EUR fails.

We are going to see the end of a big fiat currency die in our lifetime, the cycle is almost over.
328  Economy / Speculation / Re: THE DUMP on: February 22, 2017, 04:08:22 PM
OP is known for threads like this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1726058.msg17272621#msg17272621

Everytime that he dumps, he says "OMG ITS DUMPING". He is wrong most of the time, os if he is right its only luck, so don't pay much attention, he has made big mistakes in the past.

329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The terrible odyssey of trying to buy a small amount of bitcoins on: February 21, 2017, 06:27:34 PM
Yeah you can blame the banking system, not bitcoin.

If you want a small amount, get electrum, then go to localbitcoins, find a seller, make the deal, and recieve your bitcoin in your electrum wallet. How is this so difficult anyway?

If you want bigger amounts, then you will need bitcoin core for maximun security, and store them there. Maybe localbitcoins is not the best for big amounts and you should look for an exchange.
330  Economy / Speculation / Re: Speculation Rule: buy when others are irrationally pessimistic or too cautious on: February 21, 2017, 04:55:19 PM
$2,500 to $5,000 seems like what I was considering.

Another statistic I like to look at is the 21 BTC holding value. 21 BTC means less than 1 million people club, being on that part must mean big wealth long term for the holders of such amount.

In order to be a millionaire with 21 BTC, we must reach around $47,000

The question is, what are the chances that we see such $47,000 in any of the following bubble cycles? is it possible in 10-20 years?
331  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC surpass Gold in price? on: February 21, 2017, 04:10:58 PM
IMO, at 2019 since bitcoin will reach another halving and I'm sure more investor interest on bitcoin especially Chinese people like they did on early year 2017
Bitcoin have hidden potential as investment , more than you can imagine !

Lol in 2019 we will be at around $2,000++, we are just weeks away from reaching gold parity then to surpass it. Gold will keep stagnating as the useless piece of shit it is and bitcoin will keep growing by cold hard facts such as it being more useful than any other method to store and money wealth outside of the government control machine.
332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to 1400 on: February 21, 2017, 03:44:22 PM
Bitcoin to 1430 - 1500

1065 now.

stops
980 short term
890 mid
698 long

Bitcoin will have a fight at the all time high mark, so around 1165, then after that it's anywhere from 1500 to 10000, nobody can ever tell you how high it will go after all the ATH is smashed.
333  Economy / Speculation / Re: When the all time high gets smashed on: February 20, 2017, 04:13:58 PM
This:

+

ETF approval and we will be looking at very similar graph  Cool

I have been hearing about this a lot recently, this guy keeps making tweets but still no code. I hate when coders do thit, show the code or shut up, stop the god damn hype.
Anyway, I hope this is not another fiasco and this guy can deliver, but its starting to sound like the Kim Dotcom bullshit that always gets delayed.
334  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Would Be The Price Of Bitcoin If All Europe Would Start To Accept Bitcoin? on: February 20, 2017, 04:08:01 PM
Archive : 11 500 USD if Bitcoin is used for all internet orders.

https://ybitcoin.com/articles/bitcoin-as-an-investment/

25% of black market would be cool to reach, because 47,000 USD per BTC would almost make 21 BTC holders millionaires.

I think the "all internet commerce under BTC" is stupid, it would require that all countries in the world accept it and don't have fiat, it's nonsense in my book.
335  Economy / Speculation / Re: The only way to get rich is by riding the next big alt pump on: February 20, 2017, 03:26:01 PM
but you can agree that it will take a very long time for bitcoin to mature to that point, maybe we are dead by that time, we can't wait 30 years just to have bitcoin at 30k, random example, i look at resoanable time frame, 2020 is my time frame for a great value otherwise i just dump and forget

That's somewhere around my cut off date too, but not in terms of gains. I don't believe 2020 is enough time for the gains some people are dreaming of. I do think we'll have a much clearer idea of what Bitcoin's fate will be by then.

If there isn't any scaling and even more centralisation then I'll be walking away. If it can't evolve then something else will.

I agree that 2020 is too short for bitcoin to increase in price dramatically.  I think it will take another two decade, that is if the current problem of Bitcoin is solved.  If not then I only see the current Bitcoin supporter moving to another cryptocurrency thus making all the prediction invalid.

As for Bitcoin fate, let us just wait for your time frame. I do not have an idea on when will the fate of bitcoin unfold.

What current problem? The scaling problem? Because that will never be fully solved, just like the internet scaling problem is always a problem, so in itself is not a problem, its just a never ending process.

If by 2027 21 BTC holders aren't rich it will be a disappointment. At least 1 million USD per 21 BTC holder should be guaranteed.
336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So who the hell is still supporting BU? on: February 19, 2017, 04:17:59 PM
activating segwit then max up with LN for VISA competition purposes.

segwit solves nothing because people wanting to spam and double spend scam will just stick to native keys. meaning segwit is just a gesture/empty promise. not a 100% fix.

LN can be designed without segwit.
after all its just a 2in 2out tx which is not a problem of sigops. and not an issue of malleability.
LN functions using dual signing. so its impossible for 1 person to malleate because the second person needs to sign it and could easily check if malleated before signing and refuse to sign if someone malleates.
and the person malleating cannot double spend by making a second tx because again its a dual signature. so again LN doesnt need segwit

nothing is stopping a well coded LN to be made.. we just dont want devs to think a commercial hub LN service to be the end goal of bitcoin scaling. it should just be a voluntary side service. much like using coinbase or bitgo

Yes, segwit isn't needed for payment channels, but segwit adds a lot of cool stuff, including schnorr which can make bitcoin more private. The positives of segwit outweight the cons, everyone knows this its 2017.

Too sad that again in the SW supporting forums there is just only fear about having an open discussion

https://www.reddit.com/r/btc/comments/5ut05w/why_im_against_bu/ddxiool/

That way I see no chance to get along with it (SW) in a open world with open blockchain on top of an open internet.

Simply this behaviour makes me getting on distance with SW and activates critical thinking - luckily this still works.

 Wink

A nice post by that guy. Funny to see jstolf the resident PhD troll struggling to keep up with the conversation.
337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So who the hell is still supporting BU? on: February 19, 2017, 03:23:50 PM
@iCEBREAKER

You know what is funny , you actually think you are relevant,

You Not , but it is funny you think so.   Cheesy

If a side product can't keep up with innovation , that is on the Devs of the side product.

Electrum can update or get left behind , it is that simple.
You trying to say they are not able to get their code working , is really their problem,
not BTC Core and not the BU , only electrum.

Their were a lot of side products that are broken with every microsoft OS release.
Vendors either update & adapt or Die, their Choice.

Electrum is no different.
Thinking you are going to hold back an entire network because 1 vendor can not make their product work with it , is beyond stupid.

 Cool

The only thing irrelevant here is BUnlimistas and your nonsense.

BU has already been proven as a recipe for disaster. Everyone that's actually relevant in the bitcoin circles including Nick Szabo which knows more about all of this than you will ever know, is already saying we are wasting time by not activating segwit then max up with LN for VISA competition purposes.

You guys need to get wiped. You fell victim of the Roger propaganda machine and now you are contributing to stagnating bitcoin development, good job.
338  Economy / Speculation / Re: When the all time high gets smashed on: February 18, 2017, 11:15:27 PM
A nice thread. Those screenshots speak for itself. It's clear that whoever manages to sell right at the top will get really rich, the problem is, you will most likely not be able to sell at the peak, and you will be selling too early, or too late (during the dip before it goes back up and stabilizes).

Looks like the best way is to not risk it and hold across the bump and enjoy the nice new floor that will be stablished after the big squeeze (which again, god knows how high it can go).

It would also be nice to add posts on this thread for historical reference. This is one of the favorites:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=33917.msg425880#msg425880

I would not mind if they were in the $5 range...I think bitcoins have been overpriced for a while.  Look at the run it has had this year.  When CNN and Foxnews puts you on, you become popular.  Unfortunately, the DDoS, hacks, massive sell in June, and recession striking the world have had an impact.  While I think bitcoin has its place...I don't think its place is $15.  I am thinking $8 or so now with MARGINAL increases...not massive ones.

Oh boy... well, I hope that guy is ok. Things like this definitely put things in perspective.
339  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will reach $1000 again or not ? on: February 18, 2017, 07:28:30 PM
now halving is done, but the price not touch $1000
what do you think ? Bitcoin will reach $1000 again or not ?

nice thread i found, i make it in mid 2016 now bitcoin stable at $1000 congratulation all.

Indeed, so the speculation comment that were replied here is not pure speculation at all.  Since almost all replies said that Bitcoin will reach $1000 and inded Bitcoin is stable at $1000 today has some basis and reason which is proven true.  The adoption, the new funds, the rarity of BTC and I guess it will still continue, I guess the next stop would be $1500 or $2000 at the end of this year Smiley

It is beautiful to look at old threads like this that considered not reaching $1000 ever again a possibility. It shows how bitcoin keep proving all the pessimists wrong. We will keep breaking records. Bitcoin will never be stopped. No matter how many bans and big attacks happen, the community is too strong. We will reach at 1 million reddit subscribers and we will reach $10000, we cant be stopped.
340  Other / Meta / Re: Is bitcointalk preparing for 100 million users as bitcoin grows? on: February 18, 2017, 06:39:59 PM
The word bitcoin is spreading  like the air and bitcointalk is also a conveyor but is the forum preparing for the massive community of 100 million with diverse people.
1. where there will be millions of legendary and hero applying for a campaign.
2. more Fake campaigns with new ways to fraud members
3. where there will be lots of stupid threads and spaming
4. Ranting on the threads and possible attempt of hack

There are tons of inactive accounts. Registered user does not mean active user.

The fake campaings or other frauds will naturally get wipped by the market. If you offer a shit service, nobody will be intersted.

Stupid threads and spamming get taken care of mods. Also trolling is fun and sometimes pointless threads can be fun, the offtopic section is a good place for that.

And rants are accepted and hacks, well that is your problem, stay smart and disable javascript is my advice (I hope the new forum software remains simple and functional with javascript off)
