1041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can smell the fear on: July 28, 2015, 04:44:50 PM
Banks going on about how Bitcoin is useless but the blockchain is great..

Paypal advertising sending money across boarders claming speed and security..

Can you smell it in the air?

It's obvious they are panicking as shown by their ongoing, constant FUD campaign. At first is was all day everyday with the constant asociations of Bitcoin with criminal and elicit activity, drugs, money laundering, whatever. And now, they are trying to pull this magic trick of separating Bitcoin from Blockchain. When will these idiots learn???
1042  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Provider ABUSE because of Bitcoin Client on: July 24, 2015, 04:26:06 PM
OP for how long do you keep your Bitcoin node running? I only open it for transactions, I cant really run a full node because my computer is not powerful enough and takes way too much % of ram and CPU usage.
Can this be a problem for people like me that only use it occasionally?
1043  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many bitcoins do I need to retire in 20 years? on: July 24, 2015, 04:22:33 PM
the supply and demand isnt affecting at the moment the price ,all days bitcoins changes hands ,the new users that get inside are very small yet but keep growing the number of new bitcoiners soo it can boom anytime soo around 500 bitcoins would make a good retirement on the next years

Don't you think 500 bitcoins is too much. I mean don't look at the current value, imagine about the future value like may be 4k or $5k then 100 bitcoins would be enough at the retirement age. My goal is to have atleast 100 bitcoins and I m done.

I dont think so. 500 bitcoin is a good amount, because you can't predict the future. And for people who are bored to stay longer enough to face its peak I think 500 is good.

100bitcoin no matter how much price do you want and you are done from bitcoin? Dont make a wrong move dude, reconsidering it again when you hit 100 bitcoins  Grin

You can't predict the future but you can have realistic expectations of it, and Bitcoin should be able to deliver big gains considering how things are moving. Andreas Antonopoulous is convinced that Western Union will get literally killed by Bitcoin, this alone should make you think.

Of course 500 BTC would be ideal, but who has the money to invest in 500 BTC? Certainly not me.
1044  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: July 24, 2015, 04:20:24 PM
well part of my salary is invested in a previdence that will allow me to earn an interest as long as im alive ,but i have to pay it for the next 25 years and forgot those money ,soo i can maximize the ammount i will be able to get montly or at once.Soo i could being invested those money into bitcoin and left it for the next 25 years but there is a high risk on it currently,my investment into the bank will allow me to have enought money to survive and live well.

You can also save your money in some systematic investment plans which are safe and gives you good returns and the best thing is those plans are available for short term too..like say 6 months or 1 year after maturity you can withdraw and can earn good interest on it.

banks usually offer me short plans as you stated above ,but im looking for a long investment and big return not thinking on to get a 5% or 10% on the package they offer,i made the plan to all family and for me is like those money is dead or i havent it i forget it till the year i will be able to get it full or every  month xD and im investing into bitcoin as well soo in short medium time i can get an extra income.

How do you plan to get an extra income off bitcoin exactly? you said you invest in Bitcoin and expect to get an extra income in "short-medium time". I don't get this. Are you planning in selling a % of your bitcoin and putting it into the bank to gain interest as passive income? you would need to be moving tons of money to get anything decent from bank interest rates.
1045  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is there a quiet redistribution / accumulation going on? on: July 24, 2015, 04:17:57 PM
could be, but i really think the large traders that wanted to buy coins in a quiet manner have already done so. or maybe it is a group trying to buy up huge loads of coins without moving the market. that can explain why it takes so long.

Whaleclubs buy small amounts on a daily. They did this with LTC and they did this with DOGE for long periods of time. But with Bitcoin is different, because millions of non-whales that want to get in are paying attention, so it only takes a push from whales for legit increments in the price that may establish solid higher floors.
1046  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 BTC = $5,000 by end of the year! on: July 24, 2015, 04:13:28 PM
Just getting past the previous ATH by the end of the year would be difficult enough. I wager you will be waiting quite a while longer for $5,000.

ATH no prob, see:

Facts:

  • On weekly chart PSAR will start turning parabollic tomorrow. In bitcoin world this was allways sign for a new bubble.
  • On daily chart 50d MA crossed over 200d MA, and 200d MA is below spot price. Financial world describes such event as a golden cross (http://www.stockopedia.com/chart-signals/).
  • This week we will also see 100d MA crossing over 200d MA and it will stay below 50d MA. It is a perfect storm setup.

How long it will last? Noone knows, but for sure current ATH will be history soon. New ATH ahead.

Even if there is a bubble happening by then and we get past 5000 USD, will you sell? What guarantees that you are selling at the top? what guarantees that you will be able to buy back at a decent enough price? What happens if you aren't able to buy back and get left outside the market with your deprecating dollars?

Bubbles are cool, but they are a bitch if you end up screwing up. You never know if the price will get a small correction, or a huge one. Say we reach 5000, price goes back 4700. You think "oh, the correction hasn't even begun, we'll probably go back to at least near the last ATH". So your plan is to keep waiting for something near 1.3. But guess what, it doesn't happen, and unexpected whales and legit buyers keep pushing the price up, and the price starts going up again from 4700 to something unexpected such as 7000, and then it starts peaking there and having a big correction... see, there are tons of ways to lose money, but my biggest fear is being left behind outside the market, as a long term holder that's what scares me to sell, because you can't never be sure if you are perceiving an obvious bubble or you are selling at the tip of an huge iceberg.
1047  Economy / Speculation / Re: Free money available on: July 24, 2015, 04:07:05 PM
Want some free money? Short gold and BTC with a several month timeline.
Trading large positions on margin with a time frame of 'several months' is not a good idea for multiple reasons.
Interest rates will eat away at your money and it is very risky to leave your position open for that long.

I'm also sure that bitcoin will go both up and down, in several months that is...

I am a sort of prophet.
lol, ok.

It's not only risky for those reasons, it's just generally risky to leave Bitcoins on exchanges long term no matter what, at least until a serious exchange like Gemini where you can trust it will not disappear overnight is available. Until then, leaving long term positions opened specially with serious amounts of Bitcoin is simply insane for my taste. Good luck tho, im sure there is big money to be made by taking such risks, but there is also tons of money to be lost, as always. Id rather hold trough it.
1048  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin to $1000 on July 2016 on: July 24, 2015, 04:03:14 PM
LMAO

I'm rolling on the floor laughing. "Bitcoin to $1000" is not going to happen. Ever. Well, unless Chinese Communist Party decides to unban the Chinese exchanges and banks to freely convert bitcoin to cash and vice versa. Without the massive Chinese investors, you are not going to see "bitcoin to $1000". No one else has the financial wherewithal and herd-mentality like the Chinese.

I'll quote this post of yours and roll on the floor laughing when it reaches $1000 above. It's not just Chinese communist party or other chinese groups bitcoin price is relying on. Check out the halving.

By then that account will be abandoned a long time before it reaches 1000. In fact, as long as it starts reaching 500+ again all those FUDsters will start losing traction. By 600 they will be raging, by 700 they will start posting less and less, and by 800 they will hide in shame hoping for a correction. By 2000 they will blow their brains off if they aren't invested.
1049  Economy / Speculation / Panic sellers and non-holders beware: This could be you in the future. on: July 24, 2015, 03:59:49 PM
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=27348.0

Always a good idea to revisit the past and learn from it. You can find tons of histories like that if you go back a couple of years. Imagine how much those guys regret being short-term, non-long-term visionaries. Those guys missed the point completely. They had tons of entire units on the most important network on the planet and sold them for peanuts.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0mykANOMGQ

Watch this and put things into perspective.
If you aren't holding long term, you'll be the guy on that thread while the rest are holding Bitcoin valued at prices we can't really fathom right now, just like people back then couldn't fathom the implications of what the internet did to countless businesses, therefore, being able to value it properly.
If you are a doubter on Bitcoin reaching ridiculous prices (imagine how ridiculous the thought of 1000 would be back then, when people said as rational selling at 20 dollars) you'll miss on ridiculous gains of purchasing power in the future.

Whatever you do, good luck, and remember that thread. Actually print it and put it on your bedroom wall.
1050  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: July 23, 2015, 05:45:40 PM
You are requiring a bit to much.
A quote says find and marry a rich girl or a rich boy, and you will become rich.
Only one of many opportunity.

Lol..True..
If your father is poor it's not your fault, but if your father-in-law is poor then it is definitely your fault  Grin So I would rather find a millionaire girl and would get happily married and happily rich  Wink

It is 100% true, this is maybe the hardest way to become rich, but is one of them.
And near nobody has that luck to become rich in this way that i said.

Exactly my friend, it is near to impossible, as we have to believe in reality and the reality is the rich girl would definitely get married with a much richer guy, and this is not a movie, its a real life, so if you want to get rich work hard and act smart that is the only way you can get richer sooner or latter.

Well nice words man, i want to quote this for future Tongue
"if you want to get rich work hard and act smart"
Should motivate everyone

You can work hard and work smart but you'll end up needing a lot of luck to make it from the bottom. If all things go as planned, BTC should be pretty high in 10 years. If you've worked HARD now to make as much as humanly possible and HOLD them (smart), then, with luck, we should reap the benefits. But again, the element of uncertainty of the fact that nobody knows wtf will happen in the future is simply luck. Working hard and smart just gives you better odds.
1051  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bachelor's thesis on Bitcoins on: July 23, 2015, 05:38:59 PM
My best bit of advice would be to watch tons of Andreas Antonopolous videos. It's not only very informative and covers a lot of the most important features of BTC, but he is also a great speaker and you can learn how to speak in public about it. After watching it for a while I can now annoy my friends endlessly with interesting BTC topics.
1052  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone used a Bitcoin NFC wallet card? on: July 23, 2015, 05:34:45 PM
I've been interested in purchasing a Bitcoin NFC wallet card, but I'm not sure how it works. Never used NFC features on my phone so I'm not very familiar with it. Anyone used this type of card for storing/withdrawing BTC before? If this works, it could be my wallet on the go! Thanks in advance.  Wink

That card looks really sexy and I love the "infinity" expiration date, would be tempted to get that out to pay with. But to be honest, whats the point when you can pay with smartphone through Mycellium or something?
1053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next challenge: booking a cruise with bitcoins on: July 23, 2015, 05:33:09 PM
If its not too much to ask where are you going and how much BTC do you expect to spend on this?
When you spend BTC don't you have second thoughts about it? say you spend 2 BTC now on on this and in 2 years BTC is 10K each... wouldn't that suck?
1054  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about bitcoin? on: July 23, 2015, 05:11:13 PM
When it went over 1K dollars and surpassed gold for a while I think I saw it on some mainstream news like Fox news or something along the lines. A lot has changed since them. Back then I was desperate to own at least 1, now I got a couple. Yes im still poor, but I think im on the right track. Im wiser and im owning some.
1055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coinffeine the world first decentralized Bitcoin exchange in 70 countries on: July 23, 2015, 04:40:17 PM
I dont really understand this to be honest. Will decentralized p2p exchanges like this allow for tons of transactions per second like it happens in centralized exchanges like the usual Poloniex, Cryptsy ones etc? because we need tons of transactions to do day trading if you are into that.
Otherwise exchanges like this will only be useful for the occasional buy of BTC, just like LocalBitcoins.
1056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will be the time for TV ads about Bitcoin? on: July 23, 2015, 04:37:59 PM
It would be pretty cool seeing a bitcoin related ad on TV. Sort of like the first time I saw Bitcoin being mentioned in financial newspapers.

Actually, didn't Bitpay already do some ads during the super bowl?

I watched the entire superbowl and don't remember any of that.

I think for it to be relevant we'll need a couple more crisis and a couple more people getting slapped around by the banking system, AND of course a more solid software with the scaling up problem solved and sealed for the next at least 40 years. It's time for the devs to come up with a solution.
Lets remember we are still at 0.11 version.. by the time we are at version 1.0 we'll all be rich and retired enjoying our passive income through real state bought with our ridiculously expensive BTCs. Thats what happens when you are a pioneer.
1057  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No more bitcoin news? on: July 23, 2015, 04:35:32 PM
Bitcoin news are literally happening ALL the time. Just go to www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin and you'll get a variety of news from different websites. Never a good idea to rely on the same website because they all end up having certain agendas as they grow.
1058  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin hit $280 on: July 21, 2015, 06:00:46 PM
I think it was greece. Because when it showed up that they will get fresh money the price dropped. It dropped again when it was clear they will get some.

I don't think china is involved. Even though they have problems, there is no reason to go into bitcoin. But greece is different. They don't have a currency and want to safe their money. China has a stable currency, no need to go to bitcoin.

i think it was more usual bitcoin traders that got dissapointed after the greece announcement. they quickly sold their stash they bought for at that day a premium.
[/quote

Exactly what i think too. The rise in bitcoin price did not come from greeks finally buying bitcoins, they did not have the money to do so anyway, but they came from bitcoin traders awaiting a repeat of the price rising that happened with the cyprus situation.

They were right. Selffulfilling prophecy.

Well, hype or not being triggered by greece, we are 10 days later and the price hasn't crashed back, we are still holding steady on the 280 area, which is great news. Let's hope for a long period of time on this 280-300 range. I seriously don't understand the people that cannot wait for the ride to start. What's the point? Unless you already got tons of BTC sticking, I don't understand how this low stable price isn't great news for you.
1059  Economy / Speculation / Re: Outside money will only come when we make a new ATH on: July 21, 2015, 05:58:49 PM
After the 2011 lows of $2, the price double and tripled and quadrupled. Outside money took no notice. Volume and interest didn't fundamentally change.until $30 was breached in February 2013. Then the rise went parabolic. Same thing in November. The price went parabolic after $266 was breached.

The media hype cycle will start focusing on bitcoin again after $1200 is breached again.

Do you remember seeing pictures of lines at bitcoin ATMs? Front page stories on the Wall Street Journal? None of that is coming back until $1000+

Funny thing is that lots of people are going to sell at $1000 at the beginning of the hype because it's been so long since we've had a bubble.

I think we'll not need to reach ATH, but we will indeed need to be really near it to stop triggering whatever idiot with money that hasn't still realized how dumb he looks by not being fully involved with Bitcoin right now. Once we pass the ATH again, there will no be no limitations anymore. All doubts: cleared. All fear: obliterated.
Once we get past of that psychological barrier, the sky is literally the limit. Any wild prediction can become true.
1060  Economy / Economics / Re: How to save money. on: July 21, 2015, 05:55:47 PM
This is my first post. Please do respect

My post intention is to help readers to save their money.

Some of the employee are not saving their money. They spend it on things that they dont need. For example gadgets, buying a concert ticket, accesories, etc.Buying things that not they need is also like a wasting money. Because this thing give a happiness  not a good life. Saving money is just like securing your future because your savings can help you in emergencies. These are the way to save money .
If you are empolyee. You must save atleast 20% of your salary. The 20% of your salary divides into two .

The 1st way : cash reserves- medical insurance, retirement, life insurance  and if you not have salary yet. And emergency. But dont spend all of you 10% in this emergency. You must know if the injury is serious o not before you spend the 10%.
The cash reserves must equal of your 6 months salary this will help you and ensure you becauas of you loss your job you have extra money .

The 2nd way : investment, business- you can invest in some company so that you have a extra income. And you can also built a small business that will always have an income like apartment.

Example. My wage is $ 7.5 per hour and i work for 8 hours and i work for 20 days. So thar my salary is $1,160 . The 20% of $1,160 is $232 .
So that my cash reserves is $ 116 i can spend this money in emergencies and medical insurance.
If my 6 month salary is $6,960 i can stop my saving money in cash reserves.

Thank you .

emmm 20% of my salary is only 25$ Sad

where do you live? usually in those place with low salary, the cost of living is low as well so the ratio will be about the same when you compare it to a better salary but a more expensive place

if this isn't the case and you can't find a better job, then you need multiple jobs to accomplish the same thing, for sure you can't savi anything with such amount

I would agree country is key.  Some have such low salary it is almost surprising to some.   But if they can make enough to live... that is better then the alternative.

If US then yes 25 dollars will be hard to build a nestegg for retirement.   But some countries 25 dollars you are pretty well off.  I'm hoping your in one of those.

In countries where you get paid more, standard of living is usually higher. In countries where you get paid less, standard of living is usually cheaper. Basically it means saving up money is never easy unless you get paid way above average in your country's level, or your situation is a special one (living with parents, inherited money... etc).
