3021  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Just downloading Bitcoin Core 'again'..... on: December 18, 2015, 01:57:25 AM
I know that feel, it's very frustrating to download the blockchain from scratch.Mine got corrupted once, and I had to start from 0.
If you are using Windows, I wouldn't recommend Windows 10, stay with Windows 7 as long as possible. I would never run a node in Windows 10, something tells me it's backdoor-ready for Bitcoin.
3022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: But coin today a shitshow - an UMNITGATED disaster the last few days on: December 18, 2015, 01:54:59 AM
All of my transactions have gone throught smoothly. Are you using the requested fee? If not, use an app that's on reddit somewhere that tells you the optimal fee to make the transaction in X time. All wallets should suggest optimal fees automatically..
3023  Economy / Gambling / Re: If Mayweather made a comeback, would you bet on it? on: December 16, 2015, 03:07:54 PM
Mayweather once again stressed he wouldn't be tempted to make a comeback rather than he will teach Rousey a Boxing lesson,LOL .If Floyd ever attempts a comeback it would be for a good reason, money shouldn’t be an issue for him.
Money would be an issue for him coz of his extravagant spendings and I would bet that he will lose if he ever attempt to comeback.. He is getting older, not younger.

He has enough money to keep wasting on ridiculous luxuries pretty much for life. Of course you can always end up broke no matter how rich you are but take into consideration the fact that when he buys 1 million dollar watches, he isn't really spending 1 million, because he is getting paid back by the brand in ad revenue, that's why he takes pics everytime he buys something. It's all a business.
3024  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think bitcoins will disapear or become unused? on: December 16, 2015, 03:05:13 PM
In 10 years BTC will disappear  or will be the best coin of the world

Satoshi himself said that, well not exactly that but something similar. He i said something like "Bitcoin will be worth nothing or a lot". Im trying to find the exact quote but I can't. It must still be in this forum unless the post got deleted.
3025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Dorian Nakamoto wins Craig Wright at the media war on: December 16, 2015, 02:58:12 PM
I thought this is funny, do the following experiment: Put "Satoshi Nakamoto" in google image search and see who comes up everywhere. Exactly, Dorian Nakamoto is everywhere in the pictures and I can't barely find a picture of Craig Wright, it only shows up when you scrow all the way down. So when clueless people search for Satoshi Nakamoto, they will still think it's Dorian. His hoax didn't work.

3026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So do you really think Craig Wright is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: December 16, 2015, 02:48:07 PM
Not sure why are you making yet another thread on this guy since it has been discussed enough. This guy is a hoaxer and wanted fame to make people think that he created Bitcoin which gives you massive status in the tech world and would open any doors to your future projects and funding of those, it's not that hard to understand the motive.
3027  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What wallets do you use and why? on: December 16, 2015, 02:46:11 PM
Im going to keep using Core forever, im too used to it. If I need more mobility, I can always move the coins I need to spend to mycellium wallet, but the main BTC stack must remain in Core with all sort of encryption and having the full blockchain downloaded, everything else is not good enough.
3028  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Party 2016 on: December 16, 2015, 02:42:28 PM
I don't know witch day will be, and because that i don't know what i will do this day. But i'm sure that i will be looking the price all the day to see if it changes with the halving event. But i suppose that the increment of prices will be before this day.

The halving day can be estimated, here is a countdown:

http://bitcoinclock.com/

So you can know when it will happen pretty precisely, we also know when the future halvings will happen, just add 4 years to 2016-07-20.
3029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $450 - $500 means many of us are now even or ahead on: December 16, 2015, 02:32:25 PM
The higher the entry point to make 1 BTC gets for the average citizen the more elite you are in the Bitcoin ecosystem and that's how it should be, people that take risks and are visionaries should be given rewards, that's I find it funny when some people complain the super early adopters all rich already.

Voucher received and withdrawn, thanks for the nicely run campaign.
3031  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: December 14, 2015, 04:18:50 PM
You don't get 100 free sat anymore when creating an account? I tried to play a game at work (using a different computer, username and other connection) but my randomly new generated character didn't have the free 100 sat so I wasn't able to play for money (I don't want to have access to my BTC at work to be honest)
3032  Economy / Gambling / Re: How can casinos profit from investments? on: December 14, 2015, 04:14:41 PM
I think some casinos make money from ad revenue in combination with fees, such as a small fee that happens everytime you depost (or withdraw) money on the casino's wallet to play with, and other raise money with investors.
3033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So...bitcoin is now a national currency on: December 14, 2015, 04:10:54 PM
This is great. We sometimes forget that out there, people live in really remote islands. It's actually pretty shocking to thing but it happens a lot. People in the middle of the nowhere surrounded by water. All those places get internet due satellites, but usually have a lot of problems when dealing with international transactions. Bitcoin would be able to deliver instant international commerce to all those remote islands.
3034  Other / Off-topic / Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin? on: December 14, 2015, 04:06:17 PM
my worst mistake was investing my BTC in inscrypt.cc
You can learn from your mistakes. And don't try that again

That is true. We learn from what we risk. Some mistakes are already done. Better stand up again and gain the lost. Some stops after being scammed but some grows because of their mistakes they are more experienced now.

Actually for some people who invested to those ponzis site including scrypt.cc, still they didn't learned and decided to continue to invest in other HYIP/ponzis companies out there like the recent famous system of doubling of shit bitcoins in a matter of short term. It's fine for a risk taker but Im really annoyed to see some crybabies after some of that companies collapses.

Well if everyone in here thought everything is a scam new companies would never be able to flourish because no one would fund them. We can't let the scammers ruin the funding of legitimate ventures by imposing fear. Of course im not saying go and invest on any random shit, but some stuff is worth putting your money at.
3035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we trade Bitcoin if internet goes down? on: December 14, 2015, 03:59:24 PM
given the cayos happening in the world i wouldn't be surprised of nuclear war and in this case i would expect internet disruption question is how do we trade bitcoin during this time if we can't access internet.

home internet and mobile internet goes down
Bitcoin network completely breaks down. no hash power, no node. no confirmation, then we have to go cash, like dollar, euro.

Well the thing is that cash is going to disappear in the next 10 or 20 years so I wouldn't count of cash as a means of exchanging value in the future because society is going more and more digital and physical payments will be irrelevant, the people being born today will not know cash in the future.
3036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What unit do you find more comfortable when measuring BTC values? on: December 14, 2015, 03:57:11 PM
Im curious about the statistics on this nowadays. Honestly I don't know if it's only me but im still used to BTC, even if it would be seen as inconvenient with small amounts, might be because I used BTC only for years. Lately I also learned dealing and managing in satoshis when I started getting small payments because of the sig campaigns. Im really slow when it comes to math so this helped me (experiencing it by using it yourself).
BTC + sat for me then, maybe BTC if I really had to choose.
3037  Other / Off-topic / Re: bitcoin affects life a lot on: December 14, 2015, 03:47:04 PM
I think as you get older you find in-door activities more interesting than being out with friends spending money on expensive clubbing or whatnot. Sometimes in friday night I feel like I would rather be here learning about stuff or watching an interesting Bitcoin related lecture than going out to be honest.
3038  Other / Meta / How come satoshi doesn't show up if you order nicknames in registration date? on: December 12, 2015, 06:40:28 PM
So I was having some fun reading old stuff from the forums trying to learn who was around back in the day, I went in the members section and ordered the nicknames in increasing rate of registration order to see who the first people that registered here were:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=mlist;sort=registered;start=0

Funny to see some random newbies that only made a post. Anyway, what I don't get is the fact that I can't seem to find satoshi and he should show up the third

First one was "admin" which was also satoshi?

Profile number 2 was deleted, who was number 2?

Just curious  Tongue

3039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with your idle coins? on: December 12, 2015, 06:28:02 PM
I store them offline. No point in having them online if you're not going to use them.
I'm saving them up for a day when I'm in need of money for now. It's like my savings account.

I believe the coins you hold must grow in numbers as well. Although passively it grows in value, the numbers should also grow too. Recently, I;m exploring investment options in dice sites. So far, moneypot has been positive.

this is a good way to reduce you stash in a short term, it's better to leave them there and find a job which will be a more secure way to acquire more bitcoin, than gambling

Sometimes it's fun to gamble. I was anti-gambling in the past but at least once a week, a small symbolic amount like 0.01 can be fun to gamble with, and sometimes if you are lucky you can end up with a lot of money, if not... you only lose 0.01 which is not that much to lose once or twice times a week.
3040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Gambling, Money is not everything on: December 12, 2015, 06:20:02 PM
It depends, it's not the same playing slots or dice in demo mode, than a game like Battlecoin in demo mode... because Battlecoin can be fun even without any money involved since it's a game and requires skill, same for poker. But for 100% luck-based games like roulette, slot or dice, without money is not that fun.
