3061  Economy / Economics / Re: WSJ Gets it Wrong: Claims GBTC ETF Responsible for Bull Run (It's China, Stupid) on: December 08, 2015, 03:16:50 PM
we all know that the one who is responsible for the bull run is China. That's right, China. China's capital control policy has pushed individual as well as corporations to use a currency that doesn't have any limits or the government have no control over it to use. Because in the policy states that any transaction out of the country that bigger than 30k USD must be assessed, checked or prohibited. That triggers a huge adoption of bitcoin to avoid the policy.

This is why Bitcoin is so awesome. It benefits from fiat's failures. The worse fiat gets and the more they annoy people with capital control, the more powerful Bitcoin will become, and all terms worldwide aim at bigger capital control because of hyperinflation and other factors such as terrorism boogeyman stuff.
3062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Thinking of downloading Bitcoin Core on: December 08, 2015, 03:08:29 PM
Hi all i got a new pc recently and was thinking of downloading bitcoin core, whats the pro's and con's?

You should by all means download Bitcoin Core and run it for as long as possible (leave it open if you leave and you leave your computer turn on). By doing this you are helping the network. It is because of people running nodes that Bitcoin can function in the first place let's not forget that, so the more nodes the better.
3063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Peter Schiff has lost Faith of Fans with his ridiclous Bitcoin prediction on: December 08, 2015, 03:01:02 PM
Peter Schiff's agenda is only and only to pump gold indefinitely., and if he has to say ridiculous stuff along to way to achieve this, including saying Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme other utter nonsense then he will do so. I recommend avoiding this guy like the plague for anything Bitcoin, he has literally no clue about it.
3064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 paper wallets - same password. Still Secure? Also, how do you secure your BTC? on: December 08, 2015, 02:57:28 PM
- Even your computer in safe condition it'll better if you changed your password periodically or atleast having different password for each

My ultra paranoid method to save my btc :
- using offline wallet
- scanning pc with antivirus every 3 days to prevent being keylogged
- using Anti-keylogger software to prevent being keylogged
- those software that i mentioned above must premium/pro, dont try to use cracked software
- dont install cracked software

What anti keylogger software are you using? I have Malwarebytes Anti Malwaware Premium and Comodo as firewall, what else would I need to be safe? Im considering installing MSI (Microsoft Security Essentials) I heard it was a decent antivirus and it's free. Ideally I would use a Linux machine but a lot of software I need to use is Windows only.
3065  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How much would you trust trezor? on: December 08, 2015, 02:55:26 PM
Well with paper wallet the ink can go out with paper wallet you need to becareful with water fire and other thinks.
...

I have read some reviews about trezor and it is prety good.
Try throwing it on fire, or water... And see what happens.

You can secure it, to prevent this from happening. Make backups of your paper wallet and safe it in different places.
You could plasticize your paper wallet as well.

But then I would just rather use a paper wallet that spend the money a Trezor is worth for, which I could save to buy more Bitcoin. Honestly I still don't see the big necessity of it unless you are a person that is traveling the world constantly and needs mobility, if not, then a secured desktop computer and a paper wallet will do.
3066  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: December 06, 2015, 07:21:07 PM
The King is dead, long live the King.   Bitcoin will have to go through several stages of shedding its original setup to become something greater, I think its easily the case that people mistake regeneration for death when parts of the system must fail and be replaced to achieve greater things.
Of course its possible to falter even stop on the way, nothing is certain.   Some coin will succeed in greater then what we have now

The King is alive, long live the King. Sidechains are coming soon and will make all altcoins obsolute and even a bigger joke. There will never be "Bitcoin 2.0", there will only be people crying because they didn't invest when it was still below 5 figures. I can't wait until we have Rootstock making Ethereum and the rest of altcoins completely irrelevant.
3067  Economy / Economics / Re: Europe in Crisis on: December 06, 2015, 07:14:33 PM

Yes. The population in Euro zone is increasing year after year. But the resources are depleted very fast. It is not sustainable.
The population is not increasing by birthrate but rather by constant flow of economic immigrants.  And it is not like Europe natural resources were on a brink of depletion.
Europe can carry on for many, many more year. What is problematic, however, is current EU council stupid politics, it is like they know that they are wrong, but still doing it regardless.

What like having one court that can overpower ANY other court in Europe! And they expect people to stick with this?
Are you talking about Court of Justice of the European Union? If so, having this institution is not a problem. In fact it can be beneficial at times.
Currently there are bigger problems with EU general policy that is actually the biggest problem here. It awfully reminds me of the situation we had before the outbreak of WW2 where European nations were blind to see what Germans were up to. And we all know the consequences.

Yes it is exactly like you said. One Italian politick said.Germany owned Europe without one shot

About financial politic.QE is not working,There is no landing in Europe,Companys has stop to land, same  consument, anyway Draghi said,QE will run minimum  at march 2017 and untill will be 2% inflation reached
So Euro currency will die 2017
no possible to achieve inflation with QE,it works  opposit way

Why are bankers doing QE if its not working?  Huh  Is it to cash out the system?
It probably doesn't matter as Europe will be fully Islamic by 2050 if we will keep the pace of current migrants movements.
People were stupid to believe that continent with different nations, aims and languages can be unified for long.
We could, but not with all these discrepancies between countries, non-transparent line of decision making by politics, backstage negotiations, and creating laws blatantly against will of the societies.

It seems Marie Lepen is going to win the next elections in france judging by the current stats, but im not sure this is a good thing, those guys will use the nationalism thing to no end to get away with certain things. I don't support mindless mass immigration but I don't support such a party as well. We will see how things develop.
3068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I would be interested to learn about BTC adoption beyond the usual countries on: December 06, 2015, 07:08:53 PM
...

Sure, we all know that in the USA, most of Europe, China (mining anyway), Argentina, etc. that BTC use appears to be growing fast.

I am just back from India and Nepal, where I saw ZERO about BTC adoption, only ONE (USA) person in our tour group had even heard about Bitcoin, he had read about it, never used it.  bitcointalk member bryant.coleman wrote that tekkies in India ARE looking at and beginning to use Bitcoin.

*  *  *

Well, what other countries are beginning to see BTC use take off?

You cant expect to stumble upon irl (in real life) people that know about Bitcoin and let alone own somea nd use them, it's really really rare, even in developed countries in USA and Europe. I have never seen a person in real life that knew what Bitcoin was, which is actually good news for us because it shows how ahead of the pack we still are.
3069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ● Why Bitcoin is Not Mainstream Yet & my Suggestions! ● on: December 06, 2015, 06:48:48 PM
my opinion
Bitcoin is Not Mainstream Yet because :
1. we need more advertise about bitcoin, not all of debt card user know about ease of bitcoin.
2. not many bitcoin user have pleasure to introduce bitcoin to their friends or family.

Marketing is not really needed at this point, we still don't have a clear way to scale Bitcoin. If marketing was a big success and a ton of people became adopters all of a sudden we would have big problems dealing with the new amount of Bitcoins. I think it's better to stay low key until all thinks are clear scaling wise.
3070  Other / Off-topic / Re: DO YOU HAVE 1 BITCOIN? on: December 06, 2015, 06:40:32 PM
From reading this thread theres not very many people at all that have 1 bitcoin . Roll Eyes

but some people have more than ~100btc
i think they are would not say if he was to have it because it is very risky
yeah true they are silent now, now many people who have more than 1 btc, its easy to have 1 btc
i sure, most of the old members of this forum have 1 btc

There are a lto of donators and to be a donator you have to be a whale because donations are onyl accepted at about 10 BTC and above. And who has 10 BTC to donate? we can only dream to achieve 2 figures in our Bitcoin wallet during our lifetime, let alone donating 10 BTC like it's nothing, that's insane for the 99.999% of people out there.
3071  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How much would you trust trezor? on: December 06, 2015, 05:38:48 PM
I will never trust something that has dependance of a mechanism to work be it mechanical or digital (electronic) above a simple paper wallet wrapped in fire resistant plastic. I mean who would? just get a paper wallet with BIP38 and wrap it on sturdy type of plastic, how doesn't this beat Trezor to be honest?

This is OK if you will not move your coins let's say for a year, but if you must move your coins once a week for example, then your paper wallet becomes very inconvenient. This is where Trezor shines!

Well if you get a copy of the keys and print it and have it near you on your desktop, how is it so unconvenient to use it? If you want to get funds on it or move it out of them you could always use your phone scanning the QR code. Instead of connecting Trezor in your computer you connect your phone.
3072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is Amir Taaki? on: December 06, 2015, 05:35:24 PM
It says it was published at published on 2015-11-21
Well, it seems he's ok then, glad to see he is still fine. I hope they are still working in Darkwallet. I think I heard Cody Wilson talking about him in other podcast the other day saying he was ok, but there was another guy that disappeared for sure, I don't remember the name. Let's just hope all those cool anonymous wallets continue being developed without people randomly disappearing in the process.

That soundcloud is not recent.. it was published recently yes, but it was recorded a year ago, notice the tag "classic". Also when you start listening to it the host says that it was recorded in 2014. Therefore, the guy is still missing as far as I know. The last stuff I have seen were it was confirmed to be him talking are all from a year ago at least.
3073  Economy / Speculation / Re: 400$ was the top on: December 06, 2015, 03:31:58 AM
OP is shaking because he already sold his coins and doesn't want to look like a complete moron. That's cute, but it's not going to work. You should have hold instead of trying to perfectly time the market which is impossible. Bitcoin only goes up in the long term, it's a law of nature. I hope everyone bought as many coins as possible while it was still at the 300 range, who knows if we are about to see the last days of 3XX.
3074  Other / Off-topic / Re: Where u use bitcoins? on: December 06, 2015, 03:21:21 AM
I have been trying to find a way to buy steam games without getting scammed but I can't find any place where I can trust enough the seller that im getting a key that is real and not stolen, or from some dodgy origin, or that will straight not work because it's fake.

I wish Gabe Newell woke up and added Bitcoin payments in steam, I hate his fat face for not accepting Bitcoin payments. It would be great to buy with it.
3075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin's anonymity really a problem for the governments and regulations? on: December 06, 2015, 03:02:20 AM
The main problem for governments is they can't tax it properly. Sure, the ledger is public and all that, but anyone that wants to can achieve a pretty decent level of anonymity. Of course it's not very user friendly and most people will not get into trouble trying to mix their coins and whatnot. In the future it will be way easier to do it so I guess governments are going to face a lot of problems controlling and taxing it even for the average joe.
3076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bank??? on: December 06, 2015, 02:51:08 AM
LOL

bitcoin and bank are not words that go along in the same sentence.

The decentralization is it's main feature, wouldn't make any sense a bank that would get power and jeopardize the coin market freedom.

Not everyone is going to be to be their own bank, believe it or not responsibility at such a level brings stress in a lot of people that would rather put their own money into someone's else hand (and by this I mean basically trust) to manage it for them because they just don't like the idea of having to worry about it. I see a big business in this area. At the end of the day it's all about possibilities, both the pro-bitcoin bank and self managed users have a place to exist.
3077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is gambling so addicting? on: December 06, 2015, 02:45:52 AM
Hello :-)

Gambling is clearly addictive for people with certain personalities. If you do not have self control and you do not feel you can manage the upsides and downsides of gambling you should really not play at all in the first place. Just treat it as fun and you will still enjoy it but with peace of mind.

Cheers
A technique to beat that temptation to gamble again because of a compulsive low inhibition type of personality is to learn to become addicted to the feeling of controlling yourself. Namely, see how far you can keep controlling the urge to gamble and eventually it will become second nature not to act the immediate impulse to put your money on the line all the time. I have tried this before and worked, but takes practice.
3078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to earn at least $1 in BTC per hour? on: December 06, 2015, 02:42:54 AM
For me i think there's no way to earn $1 in bitcoin's per hour. but if you have a skill like a pro,

making a website css, html or C# ,C++ or any design programing skills ..

you can earn it fast and not only $1 usd per hour you can earn much more...

Legit programing skills will in no doubt give you way more than 1 dollar an hour, take into account that's far from minimum wage, anyone working in McDonalds is making more than 1 dollar a month, therefore you shouldn't value your skills for anything that isn't at least minimum wage. Learning such a skill takes a lot of time and effort and I would expect way more than that.
3079  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The FBI has arrested elusive Silk Road architect "Variety Jones" in Thailand on: December 06, 2015, 02:00:49 AM
I have been paranoid enough about SR i would never even put those keywords in Google.
Takes a pretty huge idiot to think he has a way to be anon and untraceable on the internet.
Just boils down to a users resources and skills.
Even a dumb user who can barely surf the web could prob use all the NSA abilities to do a lot.
I generally group things as follows.. types of internet trackers.

- Morons.
- Intermediate users.
- Advanced users.
- Elite or Overly Motivated (guys who don't mind spending money for credit reports etc)
- General Law enforcement.
- Govt Agents with Custom Services or Tools + Expanded Special Resources.

So when guys think they can hide from all of the above i just roll my eyes and tell them..
Buy Monero !
..it's secure and untraceable

If the SilkRoad guys used Monero instead they might have gotten away with it.

HONEST i am a huge Monero supporter !

I argued with them about their "Anon" coin.. it gets old  Roll Eyes
just let the idiots believe what they want..

lol, Spoetnik... your trolling antics never ceases to amaze me.  It's really entertaining to keep reading your butt hurt over another altcoin that goes against your precious pre-mined Dash.

Anyways, as for the story, doesn't this go against US jurisdiction? How is it really possible for them to arrest someone that is out of the country?  Is it because the US and the Thai's are allies?

I have said a lot i couldn't care less about Dash.. never had 1 Dash coin ever.. nor will i.
Monero is the one who has aggressive gorilla marketing for their anon feature..
a feature many claim.

and your being a hypocrite attacking Dash on this topic.

i have said i have issues with all coins who proclaim to be untraceable..
such as Monero who had Hoodies made up with that printed on the front LOL

My comment earlier was about altcoins that claim to be anonymous and untraceable.
WHY would they claim those features ?
You really think those features are not being advertised to the past Silk Road crowd ?
Bold grand claims.. that will land you in jail one day !

I say screw Monero and -ALL- coins who claim to be secure, anonymous and untraceable.. just like it says on Monero Merch LOL

And hell yeah that is on-topic too ..think about it.

To be honest I don't think you can say Monero isn't more anonymous than Bitcoin as it is now. Im pro-Bitcoin and don't own any Monero but Bitcoin is right now not anonymous enough. It's getting better and at some point I think it will be as anonymous as other alternatives such as Monero, but nor right now. I cant wait for confidential translations.
3080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spanish League Prediction Thread (La Liga) on: December 02, 2015, 11:01:13 PM
And you have to add that Benzema is all over the French press too because of some sexual video scandal that may be released which is putting a ton of mental pressure on Karim, he is going to be on French television soon with an interview. Ronaldo is also frustrated with Real's coach lately so I think bad times are ahead. I think Neymar is right now the best candidate to become the best player of 2016 if he doesn't screw up badly in the coming matches.
