881  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When will Bitcoin bump into bottom again? on: June 24, 2019, 04:52:45 PM
Even despite things looking very good for Bitcoin at the moment with the current price action and other things going on, you should still be trying to avoid FOMOing into trades actively, especially if you are making leveraged trades if applicable. It is never too late to enter a trade, and new opportunities come about quite often; if you happen to miss one, just wait for another good opportunity to enter. Patience pays off in trading.

Saw something regarding being 'too late' in this article, felt like I had to say something about it. Too many people have a fear of missing out and enter into bad trades.
882  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 3 Basic Tips For Currency Trading Success on: June 24, 2019, 04:47:41 PM
You should also have a trading journal for every trade you make, so you're able to analyze what you do wrong and right in a trade and improve based off what you yourself might lack and help improve the things that you're already doing well. It is extremely important to be actively learning as well through reading up on material related to trading, but by keeping a journal you will know what you've learned well and what you don't know as well. It does take a bit of time to make a journal entry for your trades, but it is also well worth your time to do so.
883  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinpayments - Service Restriction Notice on: June 24, 2019, 04:45:12 PM
haven't got this email, it looks like Coinpayments has a weird news notification system imo, they send emails selectively to its users. Just wondering what could be the reason...

Not liking the KYC thing everywhere for everything... What do you guys think, will we be seeing KYC for Faucets in the future?  Cheesy
Don't give them any ideas... Wink

I definitely think KYC is coming to more and more crypto-related services in the near future as governmental pressure on crypto continues to grow, but this will hopefully at the same time increase the demand for more decentralized solutions such as decentralized exchanges in the area of trading. There's still plenty of improvements that can be made for DEXes, and I may very well consider using one in the future.
884  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I GOT BURNT TODAY on: June 23, 2019, 07:35:20 PM
Yep, if this is a margin trade that's not a particularly wise decision as FOMO usually leads to a bad entry and thus potential liquidation depending on the leverage used if there's no stoploss set for the trade. If this was a non-margined trade, sit back and wait. You're fine if the latter is the case, if it's the former then set an acceptable stoploss, preferably a market stop, and hope you don't get burned from this and learn for next time. You don't always have to be trading, if you are ever unsure then do something else.
885  Economy / Speculation / Re: June 2019 - Bitcoin hits 10K, where next on: June 23, 2019, 07:27:33 PM
I've been on the move recently so I haven't been able to check much in the way of Bitcoin pricing, but it seems Bitmex funding on the XBTUSD pair has reached pretty high levels near 0.2% and it has been near that for some time. Despite that, we're still doing just fine and it appears there's still space to go up even with longs paying so much to shorts. It's still a good idea to restrain your greed though, especially if you're trading on margin as one quick wick down and back up can and will liquidate you. Take caution.
886  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Kucoin lists BNB in anticipation of Binance US users being locked out in 80 days on: June 23, 2019, 07:16:45 PM
American traders are really running out of options for exchanges that don't require verification at the moment, even though the Binance ban on users with IPs from the USA can be bypassed simply by using a VPN AFAIK (similarly to Bitmex). Also sucks that Kucoin seems to have much lower volume than Binance does for most of the pairs on the exchange, though this might bring about a small boost.

I currently don't use DEXes for a variety of issues I have with them, though I would agree that decentralized exchanges will become more popular in the future as more and more regulation comes.
887  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Coinpayments - Service Restriction Notice on: June 23, 2019, 06:31:57 PM
New York state is pretty notorious for its Bitlicense on cryptocurrency-related services and products (which a crypto-related service must have to operate in the NY State), but sucks that there are so many people that won't be able to use this crypto payment gateway anymore. Hopefully people do not use Bitpay's payment gateway as an alternative, because of the drama with them requiring payment URLs.
888  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you gamble? on: June 20, 2019, 01:53:55 PM
I mostly gamble for the thrill of it (the adrenaline), and especially when I am bored. Usually I have very good self-control and I only gamble money that I can afford to lose, so I'm fine with any losses that happen and I'm usually pretty quick to cash out any big wins I get. It would certainly be great and possibly life-changing for me if I were to hit a jackpot, but I'm not counting on that and there is obviously a very small chance for that to happen.
889  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Another cryptos debit card is coming on: June 20, 2019, 01:26:21 PM
I and some people I know might actually consider using this card if it weren't for the contributions system they're using to distribute these cards. I'm not a big fan of the Bitpay cards either, but it seems to be a better option than this for most as I assume there'll be some pretty sizable contributions coming in soon. Hopefully these are released to more people soon, otherwise pretty pointless and annoying to bait people like this.
890  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for signature campaign! on: June 20, 2019, 05:02:50 AM
When I was looking for a signature campaign a while back, I didn't use any of the lists available to me at the time that listed the active campaigns and new campaigns on the site nor notifications for the creation of new threads because you're going to be notified for non-campaign threads too and things can get a bit spammy then. Just my personal opinion though, people do things many different ways on here.

Best thing you can do is just browse the Services section maybe twice daily and look out for new campaigns; you won't be first most of the time, but managers typically wait a while to allow the best posters to apply and that shouldn't be a problem if your posts aren't too spammy.
891  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Theymos start gambling now? on: June 16, 2019, 11:41:18 PM
Looks like the screenshot's from Stake.com; checks out when I go to the Stake.com site, the interface and website design seems to be essentially the same as with the screenshop in the OP. Also checks out when I go to look at the stats for the username Theymos on Stake (click for link). We'll likely never know in the end whether or not that's actually Theymos, could be any gambler trying to pretend to be him or actually him, but whoever that is must have pretty deep pockets to gamble that much. Smiley
892  Economy / Speculation / Re: June 2019 - Bitcoin hits 10K, where next on: June 16, 2019, 08:36:28 PM
I feel like $10k won't be the exact point of resistance, rather it might be frontrun as we saw in April where the bulk of the actual major $6k resistance was near the middle $5000s and we sliced right through $6000 a few days later after that mess happened. Might actually be a few days until we break up and over $10k, funding on Bitmex is currently pretty high in favor of shorts and selling pressures have returned, driving us temporarily under $9000 yet again.

As for what happens after $10k, we're probably going to hit a number of resistances before getting close to the previous ATH. At the minimum, I feel we're going above the previous ATH and perhaps to $50k.
893  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is margin trading worth checking out? on: June 16, 2019, 08:30:52 PM
I know a few people that trade on Kraken because it's one of the few sites open to US traders that allows them to leverage, however I don't use it because there are often wicks on the site that can go significantly further than wicks on other sites, such as just a few hours ago when Kraken's BTCUSD pair wicked down to 8456 whereas Coinbase Pro stayed near 8800. Pretty important in leveraged trading since one of these wicks can liquidate you pretty easily. Up to you in the end, even with Bitmex's faults I still choose to use Bitmex over any other leveraged exchange (and sometimes Deribit as well).
894  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is the best place to learn how to play Poker online? on: June 16, 2019, 04:49:30 PM
You don't have to watch or read all the resources you can find at once, either- with a lot of things I find it's better to learn over a period of time rather than cramming a lot of material in all at once. YouTube's chock full of information on how you can start and improve your poker skills, but it doesn't do any good if you can't remember and utilize the things you've learned from watching those videos. Same goes for any guides you might find regarding poker.
895  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What exchanges support Stop Loss Limit? on: June 16, 2019, 02:33:06 PM
Bitmex has extreme candle wicks in every direction every now and then due to liquidations happening and just the fact that there's a lot of highly leveraged traders on Bitmex. I would never use a limit stop on the site, always go with a market stop on Bitmex. Massive squeezes and cascading market stops mean the price can extremely easily skip over your limit stoploss and it never executes.
896  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Atomic Wallet on: June 16, 2019, 02:30:56 PM
There also used to be a lot of threads over on this forum about peoples' Blockchain wallet accounts being hacked one way or another, and exchanges get hacked and go down all the time. I would highly suggest you move the coins you have stored on any web-based wallet or exchange wallet to either your computer or a hardware wallet/paper wallet for best security. I use mobile wallets and web wallets somewhat often for short-term storage for when I want to transact without needing to use my hardware wallet, but they're really not ideal for longer-term storage at all.
897  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bull Trap on: June 15, 2019, 10:04:36 PM
Thanks for the insight, i have been practicing trade over sometimes now, and wouldn't like to jump into what will discourage my first attempt for profit. On a clear note; i should be mindful of volumes and not just the surge, or still missing something?

Not having much sMerit on me; i would have done more, thanks.
No problem! I typically do look at volumes as well as just price rises, surges in price with higher volume typically do not break down as fast as surges with lower volume, but there are always occasionally exceptions like this current run up to $8800 we are currently in, where most of the pumps were relatively low-volume compared to ones before. Keep practicing, you'll become profitable in no time. Smiley
898  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bull Trap on: June 15, 2019, 04:01:46 PM
Investopedia has a good definition and explanation of what a bull trap is here. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/bulltrap.asp

According to what they say, a bull trap's when the price action reverses after a significant and convincing rally and traders are stuck in their positions as closing them out will result in a loss, thus a 'bull trap'. As for volume, bull traps typically occur on lower volume. You really only have to worry about these in shorter-term trading, if you're going for a medium to longer-term trade or if you're just buying and holding coins these usually aren't a big deal.
899  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is this the ideal time to buy Bitcoin? What do you think? on: June 15, 2019, 03:32:36 PM
Make your own decision. Zoom out and look at things from further away, look at the overall trend and make a decision from that. As OmegaStarScream said, nobody knows where it's going for sure. Your guess is as good as mine. If you're trading, try to avoid FOMOing into large candles and look for dips to enter in bullish trends or rises to short in bearish trends for example. Always be prepared for the worst to happen.
900  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: SignalProfits? on: June 15, 2019, 03:19:57 PM
There simply aren't any shortcuts in trading, and signals are definitely not a shortcut to becoming profitable as others have mentioned here. The only way you'll actually become 'good' and profitable at trading is if you read up on some of the thousands of guides and books out there on the internet and take time to really understand and develop a trading strategy using the information you find. There's just so much information out there today for you to use, much of it for free.

I would also suggest only putting a small amount of money initially into trading that you can afford to lose. There's a good chance you'll lose this money, but you gain a lot of knowledge by analyzing what mistakes you made in a losing trade and you can use this to improve yourself as a trader.
