1141  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Attention! KYC data sold on the Dark Web! Proofs! on: April 11, 2019, 12:07:24 AM
I typically don't register, use or submit KYC documents for smaller exchanges as I mostly trade on bigger exchanges like Bitstamp, hope these leaked docs aren't from the ones I signed up for. This is also why you shouldn't ever submit KYC for giveaways, even from sites like Blockchain and their Stellar giveaway right now. The potential damages that can be caused from your documents being leaked can be much more than what you gain from submitting documents in the first place.

DEXes currently have very low volume compared to centralized exchanges and many flaws compared to centralized exchanges, but I'm keeping an eye on most of 'em for the future as I'm sure things will improve in the future. I've used several like Forkdelta and the Waves DEX in the past and things weren't the greatest, especially the volume for the pairs offered.
1142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What coin should I 'mine' with my laptops? on: April 10, 2019, 11:49:04 PM
Selling the laptops and then holding coins after buying them or a few GPUs/ASICs like other have mentioned here would likely be much more profitable than simply mining on the laptops you have right now. Shouldn't be too much of an issue selling them if they've got the specs you mentioned and you aren't using them. Laptops just aren't designed to dissipate the heat mining produces and they also don't mine terribly fast.
1143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: PAYPAL to BTC guide/advice needed (outside us) thanks on: April 10, 2019, 11:13:06 PM
I've always used Paxful vendors to convert my PayPal funds to BTC, and though rates aren't that great if you don't want to provide documents, they're still pretty reasonable most of the time. This link (click here) should give you all open listings for PayPal buyers on Paxful, and if you CTRL+F and enter the term "no verification" you'll be able to navigate to vendors that don't require verification. Not all listings will be available to you at first because PayPal's a high-risk reversible method of payment (part of the reason why rates are so low for PayPal) and there's significant risk for sellers because of this (thus they set minimum trade counts for buyers), but if you conduct ~25 or more trades the better trades should start to become available to you. Varies from vendor to vendor in the end though.
1144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling securely and sensibly online on: April 10, 2019, 11:07:49 PM
If you know you don't have good self-control in the first place, don't gamble. It's just not worth the risk of getting addicted and spending more than you can afford to lose; there are plenty of other things you can do for entertainment online, but gambling's definitely not for everybody.

If you are new to gambling, start out with a small amount and don't bet more than you can afford or more than you have set aside for gambling. If you lose it all, don't put more money in to make it back. Instead, find something else to do and perhaps come back to gambling when you've got more money you can afford to spend and you've gotten over the loss. Also realize you'll realistically you'll never make a consistent profit gambling due to house edge.
1145  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: No need to look for Exchanges anymore. on: April 10, 2019, 11:00:59 PM
Seems like a neat concept to me except for the fact that I would never touch Changelly due to the many, many negative threads and posts I've read about them (mostly with higher amount trades though) and support's handled solely by the exchange site chosen. I would much rather use an exchange like Binance to trade my coins to whatever I need, likely with better rates as well. Hopefully things don't go bad for those who use these services.
1146  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin $10k Before June, Possible? on: April 10, 2019, 10:00:15 PM
I could definitely see BTC at $10k or perhaps even greater by June if things go right in the short-term (we don't drop down past the mid $4500s and we breach $6k reasonably soon, etc), but in the end it's anybody's guess. Too early to tell if this is the beginning of a true bull market yet, though I do think the bottom's now in. There's going to be significant resistance at $6k too if we make it up there soon as that was the bottom for several months.
1147  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is currently the best exchange to buy BTC with fiat with small fee? on: April 10, 2019, 09:28:11 PM
You could also try buying BTC with cash through Bitcoin ATMs, though some of them do require you to provide documents to purchase any amount of coins or above a certain amount. CoinATMRadar has a map you can use to see if there are any near you.
1148  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whales are back ? on: April 10, 2019, 01:02:06 AM
Not an incredibly great spot to enter right now IMO. Things are pretty volatile right now, personally stepping out for now 'till things cool down. Bears have been pulling prices down but the significant pullback many are expecting before we break through the $5300s has not fully materialized yet. Things seem pretty uncertain right now, though a number of people think we could correct down to the upper $4000s from this movement before we make another run up.
1149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Saving your private key in your email is a lethal move on: April 10, 2019, 12:45:11 AM
Emails aren't a good place to keep anything valuable, period. Even with multiple layers of security on your email like 2FA and SMS confirmation, there's still a chance your email could be compromised and you want to keep as little sensitive information as possible in your inbox when that happens. I periodically go through my emails and delete emails because of this.
1150  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tips and suggestion on: April 10, 2019, 12:37:17 AM
If you take significant losses, don't trade more aggressively in an attempt to 'make back' the losses. Instead, trade as you have been before (evaluate why you took the loss in the first place) or just take a break from trading. Emotions take over even the best of us and a moment of rage can mean very significant losses on top of what's already been lost. If you're trading primarily using your emotions, it's only a matter of time until you lose it all.
1151  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is currently the best exchange to buy BTC with fiat with small fee? on: April 10, 2019, 12:22:00 AM
Paxful is pretty good, fees do vary by what vendor you use though. Fees will obviously be higher than what you get with an exchange and the best rates will likely be inaccessible to you at first as many vendors choose to trade with people that have a minimum of 25-100 transactions or something like that, but it's better than nothing and that's a fee you pay for avoiding KYC.
1152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Digital options - Gambling or trading? on: April 09, 2019, 10:16:09 PM
Trading in general can very easily become gambling if you're making trades simply off of emotion and nothing else. Newbies tend to be attracted to high leverage at first starting out on a exchange like Bitmex, and this can result in your account being liquidated in minutes when a wick goes one way or another, and you should try to limit leverage to a max of 10x or 25x if possible. Trading options is purely gambling and you should avoid options if you're trying to make a profit trading, but if you want another way to gamble, options is a great choice.
1153  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is “sportsbet.io” a fraudulent website? on: April 09, 2019, 10:10:31 PM
I'd personally rather deposit KYC on a fiat casino than submit KYC documents to be able to deposit and withdraw crypto on a crypto-based casino. Despite the excuses some sites around here have given for it, KYC's still mostly used as a way for the casino to prevent a winner from withdrawing money in crypto- sad but true.

Contacting the site directly or on this forum is the best course of action you can take from here. Hopefully you're at least able to get your initial deposit back.
1154  Economy / Speculation / Re: Get ready for lots of negative articles on bitcoin on: April 08, 2019, 02:01:23 PM
There’s already plenty of negative news towards BTC already and lots of traders are calling for a major pullback as RSI is currently overbought and has been for some days, but RSI was also incredibly oversold when we plummeted from $6K. FUD will always exist when we’re going up or down, it’s just a part of crypto now. We’ll likely see some if we fall from the $5000s for BTC. Just filter it out and do things as you normally do.
1155  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What do you prefer - Centralized or Decentralized Exchange? on: April 08, 2019, 01:51:28 PM
I mostly use centralized exchanges because most decentralized exchanges are not good enough that I would switch over to them. On paper most decentralized exchanges are solid, but in reality they don’t perform as well as they should. There are also DEXes with simpler UIs out there, but most of them have very low liquidity and don’t have many users compared to centralized exchanges. I’m sure DEXes will gain more of a userbase as more and more exchanges start to request KYC, but for now I’m content with using a centralized exchange.
1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining on android phone on: April 06, 2019, 03:10:51 PM
Still wouldn't buy the M1; seems like mostly a gimmick from what I can see with Electroneum advertising potential rewards of "up to $3/month". Specs also do not look that great with 8GB internal storage and other features that are pretty basic for 2019. You can get a better value elsewhere for a phone, and you also shouldn't be buying a phone simply for mining purposes in the first place either. Not worth the premium you're paying for a basic phone IMO.
1157  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Planning for summer 2019 on: April 06, 2019, 03:03:04 PM
I'll probably shut down the rest of the few machines I still have as I'm expecting a warmer summer than usual where I live, and I don't want to turn on the AC just for a few GPUs and ASICs. Might become a bit more profitable to mine in the future if coin prices continue to rise upwards as I'm expecting them to (longing BTC and ETH on Bitmex as a result), but I'll likely go on vacation and turn them off for a month or two anyways.
1158  Economy / Speculation / Re: Has the market completely recovered on: April 06, 2019, 02:50:13 PM
Not at all. We failed to break through resistance at $5300 and we're currently stuck in a very tight trading range near $5000 for Mex prices. Whatever movement comes next is going to be significant, and I'll consider putting in a more significant long position should we break $6000. Feels like this weekend's going to be ranging near $5000 and a more significant movement should happen on Monday or so. We're at the very tail end of the bear market and even in the beginnings of a bull market, but that doesn't mean we can't fall from here.
1159  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler = Future's Failure on: April 04, 2019, 10:04:56 PM
It all depends how you treat gambling and how you gamble. If you're putting in more than you can afford to lose then you very well might become a failure in the future, but if you're gambling in moderation, you sure can be a successful person. I have gambled for entertainment with crypto since 2015 and I still do gamble for entertainment, and few people I know would call me a failure. Some people turn out to be failures because of gambling, some don't, but it varies on a person-to-person basis.
1160  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Error 502 Bad Gateway on satoshibox.com on: April 04, 2019, 08:48:16 PM
AFAIK the scripts that allegedly bypass satoshibox's payments are filled with viruses and malware and do not actually allow you to bypass payment. I've seen them pop up several times in various other forums and also this forum over the last few months and none of them work to my knowledge.

As to whether or not Satoshibox is a scam, doesn't look good if the site has been down so long without any update yet. I'll assume the site ran away with funds if there's no sort of update posted in the next few days or so. Selly.gg's another good marketplace you could consider using (lots of traffic, search function, etc) as well as Rocketr (click for link). I've been using Rocketr to sell various digital goods for BTC for a few months and the site's clean, easy to use and responsive.
