1401  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: For those of you warning to stay away from deepbit (and BTC security in general) on: June 10, 2011, 06:03:26 AM
Help strengthen network security, give Bitcoin a better name, AND save the planet by joining the pool in my sig Smiley
1402  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pooled miners may be responsible for facilitating illegal transactions. on: June 10, 2011, 05:50:32 AM
I think that would be a VERY difficult argument to prove in court.  BUT, the issue of pools that are too large remains which is part of the reason I just started a new pool (see sig).
1403  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If BitCoin exchanges are shutdown/banned in the USA outright... on: June 10, 2011, 05:47:02 AM
Technically, yes.  Legally, probably not.  It would depend on if the law outlawed it, which it likely would.
1404  Economy / Economics / Re: hoarding is not so easy on: June 10, 2011, 05:46:05 AM
I get the opposite feeling, that selling is not so easy, making hoarding somewhat unavoidable in a way.
I'm in the same boat as you.
1405  Economy / Economics / Re: A more rigorous look at bitcoin's fundamental value on: June 10, 2011, 05:45:18 AM
Your thoughts were indeed clear to me, thank you for sharing.

In the end, it'll be supply versus demand.  Over 7000 new BTC are mined per day.  If even 10% of that is sold, plus normal sell orders, that is a lot of $ value that must be coming into the system on a daily basis.  Will that continue?  I don't know, but I hope so!  Smiley
1406  Other / Meta / Kudos to the mods and admin of this forum on: June 10, 2011, 04:54:07 AM
I know that being a mod or admin of a forum can often be a thankless job.  I just reported a post in a thread I started and within seconds it was removed.  Very impressive!

Thank you all for being on top of things and for everything you do here.

Kudos!
1407  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Can Bitcoin Self Regulate? My Test Via Ecocoin on: June 10, 2011, 04:39:28 AM
Greetings Friends,

Many of us here would prefer that Bitcoin be left alone to self regulate.  But they question is, WHAT do we need to self regulate and how can we go about efficiently doing so?  Or do we need governments to step in and regulate for us?
1408  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Join a pool or mine by myself? on: June 10, 2011, 04:14:47 AM
With my pool our fees go towards buying rainforest land and planting trees so you can offset your increased carbon footprint.  So pool and save the environment a little Smiley

1410  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Pushpool Web Frontend] Simplecoin Opensource PHP/MySQL on: June 09, 2011, 08:43:57 PM
Thank you SO MUCH for this!  Great job.

When I try to access the adminpanel, I get this error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/username/public_html/includes/header.php:33) in /home/username/public_html/adminPanel.php on line 26

Any ideas?

I have a pool setup and I want the actual design of it to be substantially better.  If you're fantastic with graphics and web design, please contact me with examples of your work and if I like it, we can negotiate a rate.

1413  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: 1 BTC Bounty - BitPress - A donate plugin for Wordpress on: June 08, 2011, 04:04:53 AM
Excellent!  Smiley
1414  Bitcoin / Project Development / 1 BTC Bounty - BitPress - A donate plugin for Wordpress on: June 08, 2011, 02:09:48 AM
I will pay a 1 BOUNTY as long as BTC stays at $25.00 or below.  If it goes above $25.00 I will pay the equivalent of $25.00.  If anyone wants to add to the bounty, let me know.

The request:

Along the lines of the "like" button, a wordpress plugin that bloggers can apply to each post where the reader, if they like the post, can click and donate a reader specified amount of BTC as a thank you.  The plugin would keep track of how much each post makes and the blogger can choose to make that figure public or private.  It would also incorporate the BTC graphic so people know exactly what it is.

1417  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How many BTC are mined per day? on: June 07, 2011, 06:17:57 PM
Is there somewhere I can access this data?  And as the "Difficulty" increases, does that mean the number of mined BTC decreases?

Thank you.
