Is the hype dying out now?
This isn't a coin we need to hype.  We're letting the qualities of the coin and the developers speak for itself.  Word will get around on its own.  Most of us are in this for the long term, not pump and dump like most coins as we understand what we have here.

[We're at about 0.00000100 LTC at Poloniex now Wink. Indeed, I expect the price to (heavily) increase soon.
I already bought and mined a nice stack of MicroCoins, but I keep hoarding in the meantime.
What is that in BTC price?  How do I convert that?

Ripple sucks.
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | Anonymous (alpha) | KGW | No Premine | ASIC Resistant on: February 17, 2014, 02:14:36 PM
Also, looking for someone who can create a reddit tip bot for darkcoin subreddit, willing to give out a few coins that I have to the one that gets one going.
I'll put 20 DRK towards that bounty.  Why don't you quantify your offer so the programmer knows what they'll get then add mine and whatever anyone else offers.
1265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | Anonymous (alpha) | KGW | No Premine | ASIC Resistant on: February 17, 2014, 03:52:08 AM
right, I know the majority of people here agreed it should be open-source, so that's the plan. but I think postponing the code's release until DarkCoin gets established as the world's best crypto-currency might be beneficial. I'm sure the developers will decide to do whatever is best.
Sorry for focusing on just that.  Everything else you posted is awesome, including the video Smiley  I'm glad you're on our side!
1266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | Anonymous (alpha) | KGW | No Premine | ASIC Resistant on: February 17, 2014, 03:41:04 AM
thinking about it now, maybe DarkSend's source code should be kept secret for quite a while. eventually it will need to be released of course, but so long as DarkCoin is the only anonymous coin, it will be better money than Bitcoin and will get adopted by the whole world. if the source is kept secret, I think DarkCoin price could go up to thousands of dollars per 1 DRK this year, adoption could spread like a wildfire, and, unlike Bitcoin, DarkCoin would be essentially unregulatable. transactions with DarkSend can't be easily tracked, they're just like physical private cash transactions.
Please don't reopen this debate.  It has been decided to be released open source which is the correct decision.  A lot of money has been invested based upon that as many of us agree that closed source and anonymity will not work.

Thank you.

Great giveaway but people already dump their 0.5 PMC
That's ok.  Some will always dump.  It's the nature of the beast.  But it may get a few more people aware of this cool coin.

I posted about the giveaway here if anyone feels the need to comment: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0
1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [Giveaway] 400 Premine (PMC) on: February 16, 2014, 09:35:00 PM
Our 400 PMC giveaway is live at Poloniex.  Premine (PMC) Coin is a very unique coin in that it was 100% premined and all of it was given away fairly to members of this community.  It is a proof of concept coin that will showcase that it is possible for cryptocurrency networks to be sustainable after all the coins are mined via transaction fees alone.  You CAN mine PMC in that you can get transaction fees.

PMC is VERY rare (only 500,000 coins) but the community is VERY giving.  As an example, we're giving away 400 coins on Poloniex.  PMC has gone up a LOT in the last few days but is still relatively cheap considering how rare it is.  Enjoy!

The giveaway: https://poloniex.com/giveaways

For the record, I did read the rules linked here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=434310.0

Is there a block explorer page where I can see how many coins there are and what block we're on?
1272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How to reset wallet balance? Mine is wrong. on: February 16, 2014, 02:26:31 PM
It's not a matter of transactions not showing up, transactions showed up that I never should have received.  It's a ghost balance.
1273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / How to reset wallet balance? Mine is wrong. on: February 16, 2014, 01:48:19 PM
A few days ago when that bug was going around, my wallet balance became very skewed. I have 10 BTC pending that I never had and my actual balance is way off (in fact, I don't even know what my real balance is). This is the windows wallet. Is there a way I can get the wallet to reset/recheck the balances?

Thank you!

anyone fancy spreading the premine love my way? 1Cb1EEGHHXjFNze9629sYZE1Tj9H5Tbqc7
Since you're a new account I didn't feel comfortable sending you much, but I did send you some.  As rare as PMC is though, it may very well be worth a good amount one day Smiley
1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: February 16, 2014, 01:11:10 PM
someone just sent me +1PMC rly thanks!  Grin
You're welcome.  The best thing you can do is now give .1 or .2 of that to someone else Smiley

Pay it forward.  Help distribute this coin far and wide Smiley

feel free to give some Cheesy
any pools?
Donated!

You mine for transaction fees.  That's the whole idea behind this coin which makes it VERY unique and VERY interesting in my opinion.
1277  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: February 16, 2014, 01:01:44 PM
So you all think the price is low and I should buy? Hate that I can't mine it but I can mine other coins, dump and buy PMC Cool
PMC is speculative.  If you can't afford to lose what you invest, then please don't.  But if you have a small amount you can be risky with, then I personally believe in the potential of PMC.  But risk/reward for everyone is different.  I'm in PMC for the long haul but I can afford to lose what I invested if I'm wrong.
1278  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: February 16, 2014, 12:36:46 PM
Thank you very much! Kiss

So basically I need to buy some if I want to have some coins, right? The difficulty of 3775 is correct?

I think I'll buy some. I really love the idea behind the coin although it should be an experiment only Grin
You're welcome.  It may have started as an experiment but Dogecoin started as a joke Smiley
1279  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PMC] Premine Coin | Rare | Mining Transaction Fee Proof of Concept on: February 16, 2014, 12:32:36 PM
Jesus, I went to sleep when the price was around 60k Satoshi. Now I am coming back online and see that it peaked around 189k, this is enormous!
It's not that surprising to me.  If we continue to give away coins as hard as that may be, the price will continue to go up as more people have a stake and considering its rarity.
