Anyone willing to take me up on the operation of a public spr mining pool... Please msg me Wink

Currently 100 spr up for grabs.

I will add 400 SPR to that for a total of 500 SPR - I would like to see a public pool up and running with found blocks and rewards going out to individual wallets.  This offer is good until 2-14-15.

I'll add 2000 for a total of 2500.  I frankly don't care very much about no pools and am curious to see what it'll take to overcome it.

I'm here because Mr. Spread is a damn fine developer and I invest in developers.

Testing still going on in test net.

If you like to join us and get a first feeling of how masternodes and instantx will work,
come join us:

http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=37.0

Attention, this is test net, so we are using tSPR, not real SPR.

Ask for some tSPR in this thread:

http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=40.0

(You are going to need 100 tSPR to install a masternode and you don't need a server to run a masternode, your wallet/desktop pc will do)

so this means that in order to have a masternode, your wallet/desktop needs to be running 24/7 i guess?
Or set it up on a VPS: http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=45.0

MN Warbots.  Hahah, oh man this is going to be awesome.

I was REALLY tempted to hit that 20k at 30.  Glad to see someone beat me to it Smiley

He will cry after that 20k very soon

Yes, yes he will...

So quick question about the price..... If apparently it is costing people around 50k for mining and with the introduction of masternodes people are estimating that the price for mining would then be 71k a coin then why are there still people dumping this coin or suppressing the price? I mean I'm not complaining because that's more and more cheap SpreadCoin for me Wink But I'm just kind of lost as to why people would sell their coins for less than they cost to apparently mine? If someone could maybe shine some light on this for me that would be greatly appreciated Smiley Cheers

Weak hands getting weeded out.  Simple as that.

None of you are thinking aggressively enough...  Wink
I WILL BUY EVERY SPREADCOIN IN EXISTENCE AND OWN EVERY MASTERNODE.

How is that?
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Testing New Masternodes on: January 29, 2015, 09:36:00 PM
It's much more complicated than that though.  Because if you stop an existing masternode, you then have to go through the election process again once you restart during which time you're not getting paid and go to the end of the line.

What I'm wondering is if we have 1400 masternodes with 101+ SPR and 40 with 100 SPR, when another 101+ SPR masternode is added, which of those 100 SPR masternodes gets booted since they all have the same number of SPR?

Last in first out or first in first out? I'd go with last in first out.

I asked on Spreadcointalk.  Hopefully Mr. Spread will respond.

500 SPR bounty for a step by step guide with screenshots for setting up a masternode on a VPS.

I think we will see a very unsymmetrical distribution of SPR amounts.

The fewest MNs at the top (with high amounts of SPR), and the most MNs around the bottom (with low amounts of SPR).

The drive to always decrease your SPR amount close to the absolute minimum of 100 SPR will never go away!

Even if all your MNs have 1000 SPR in them, everyday you will think about all the profit that you are missing by NOT splitting them up into smaller entities.
And everybody else will have the same thoughts in his head!

The profit incentive is insane, because we are talking about a profit multiplication with every division.

That's a good point as well.  I hadn't thought of that.  Interesting.
432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Testing New Masternodes on: January 29, 2015, 08:36:53 PM
I took a hack at trying to figure out what the average mn size might be in SPR given 1440 risk possible MN's.
Since there are currently 1.71 million SPR in circulation and since most holders want to have as many mn's as is possible given total holdings this would imply an average SPR per mn of about 1190 SPR.
Now the distribution of 1440 mn's, if it is similar to the testnet, will be overall similar in size with gradual increases and decreases.
So if you assume a gradual increase and decrease of about 10 SPR in either direction per 100 mn's until all coins in circulation are used up you get a total range of 1120-1260.
The biggest wildcard here will be exactly what % of total coins in circulation will be in mn's... There's no way it'll be anywhere close to 100%, at least not this early in the game.

JL
Any comments?

As you say, the biggest wildcard will be the percentage locked into masternodes.  Some people will get booted by the cap, get pissed and sell.  Others will get booted and buy more SPR to get higher.  Some people will want in on the action and buy SPR to get a masternode.  And as the price rises, some masternode owners will close their masternode to sell.

It's going to be fascinating to watch.  I suspect we'll see a lot more liquidity come to the exchanges which will be good.

Congratulations to the community for now having setup over 400 masternodes!  Payments are flowing and everything looks great.

And congratulations to Mr. Spread for proving to the world what most of us suspected: you are a top tier dev.

I REALLY LIKE the way things are coming together.  This is one hell of an exciting coin to be a part of.

So what happens if testnet works?  If everything works out correctly what should we see?

When Mr. Spread is comfortable with the state of the code on testnet, he'll likely schedule a release for it here and then the real fun begins Smiley

Newcomers, masternode testing is taking place here: http://spreadcointalk.org/index.php?topic=37.0

Coin join us!  Setting them up is EASY.

Reading this --- https://darkcointalk.org/threads/v0-11-1-instantx-development-update.3769/ it almost seems like darkcoin is now trying to play catchup to spreadcoin and is going to use spreadcoins system...

Mr spread you didn't defect to the Dark side did you???

Please stop.  We're not against Darkcoin.  In fact, they're being really cool and let me post on their forum requesting masternode testers.

Evan is an excellent dev.  Mr. Spread is an excellent dev.  Invest in either coin and I suspect you'll do well in the long run as excellent devs are worth their weight in gold.  Follow them and pickup the gold chips and dust along the way.

165 testnet masternodes in less than 12 hours.  Mr. Spread made it that easy.

Amazing.

I've created a 250 SPR bounty for anyone who sets up a testnet faucet people can get tSPR from.

I had three different developers review Mr. Spreads masternode code that he released today.  Each was very impressed.  Mr. Spread proved without doubt that he is an outstanding developer today.

Congratulations Mr. Spread, the community appreciates your hard work and we look forward to supporting you as this coin progresses.

Oh really? And you offered to do what for DRK?

I'm not sure what you mean?
