any one holding AUR KNOWS its going allot higher.. the closer it gets to the airdrop the more attention its going to get... the price is guna be 5x 10x higher after the airdrop and media get their hands on this! if it gets to the stage where iceland actually adopts it as national currency ie. paying taxes with it and bills ect then the price could well be well above bitcoin!
hahaha, do you really think Iceland is going to adopt a cryptocurrency as their national currency?? This may get some hype, but considering most people don't even know what bitcoin is... get real. I haven't been able to find one article besides ones from people within the community that mentions this thing.... and where's the website? Scam... I certainly do not think it will be the national currency day one. Probably not even day 365. Maybe not ever. But it doesn't have to be. The people of Iceland will have a viable alternative. And even if the critics are correct and every single person in Iceland dumps their Auroracoin, they'll be dumping it for Bitcoin. Which means an entire nation will have Bitcoin. As long as the people are given and take the time to receive their coin, this is a huge win for cryptocurrency.

You do realize how fast Bitcoin shot up yeah?
If this dev isn't a genius scam artist, this coin will literally be huge.
I wasn't implying it won't be big but there only 627 coins for sell on polo for example and yet there are 8,000+ in the wild. If thousands start arriving on the exchange it will shoot the price down real fast. Now I do think it WILL continue to rise up even higher than what it is now but this is sort of the calm before the storm. It is a VERY hard coin to mine. And there are a ton of people out there like me who just plain aren't going to sell even a long time after the airdrop. For me, this isn't about profit, it's about helping to enact meaningful change. I DO want the price to go up but not so much for my own eventual profit but more than anything, I understand that the more valuable this coin is leading up to the airdrop, the more likely the people of Iceland will accept their coin. And if a ton of people in Iceland accept their coin, this will truly be an epic event that will end up in the history books.

As has been stated multiple times earlier, this is not exciting only for those already interested in AUR, but for all people interested in cryptos.
Exactly. Even if the critics are right and people in Iceland dump their coin, they dump it for Bitcoin and then a ton of people in Iceland have Bitcoin. This is win-win if the people of Iceland receive their coin. And every penny increase makes it that much more likely people will take the time to receive their coin. How awesome would it be if every person in Iceland got $500? $1000? $2000? $10,000? This is potentially an epic moment in history and we're all a part of it. It's so freaking exciting.

At current prices, each citizen of Iceland would receive $508.00. Would YOU accept $508.00 for free?

I wish I could short this coin. It will plummet so quickly.
I wish you could short it too. It would be fun to see the shorts get squeezed like there is no tomorrow. I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is -- is there a way I can short with you? You interested? Sure! Do you want to do a gentleman's agreement or would you like a trusted 3rd party to hold the coin? Let's organize it through PM. And I'm not angry about it at all, I think it's a rather clever pump and dump. It's just funny to me how delusional greed makes people. The fact that anyone thinks there's any chance of Iceland adopting it as its currency is so far beyond the pale it's ridiculous. Sounds good. I'll let you come up with the idea then I'll agree to or edit it and we'll go back and forth. I look forward to your PM.

It is NOT illegal to own Bitcoin in Iceland. You can mine it, you just can't buy it because they don't want foreign currency being purchased with Krona (because they know Krona is crap and nobody wants it). Good thing Auroracoin will be given to them for free

You've only been a member of this forum for five days hammer1 and everything has to do with Auroracoin. Why are you so angry about it?

Do you all know that buying bitcoin or another crypto is illegal in Iceland now? Good thing we'll be giving them Auroracoin for free Does anyone know how "Airdrop" will be done? How they will validate their identity?
There are 320 000+ residents. Who will be doing all those verifications? This need really big team. Who will pay them? Who really is dev of this coin?
kennitala http://www.island.is/english/first-days/kennitala Dev ==> Baldur Óðinsson [pseudonym] referring to the Icelandic Viking Sagas I know about registry but how they will validate that? How this proccess will be secure against ID fraud? By "Airdrop blueprint", stage 1 will be 4 months, it is 122 days. So they need verificate 2 623 residents daily. Why is dev shaddow man. Domain auroracoin.org is registered to WhoisGuard, Inc. in Panama. Why? Probably the same general reason we don't know the true identity of the person behind Bitcoin. When you're messing with the status quo, sometimes it is best to keep your identity secret. I know I would if I was behind Bitcoin or Auroracoin. As for the ID fraud, I'm not sure and that is a valid question.

What if the Iceland government bans it?
They would be stopping their people from receiving $271 (at current prices) for free. I doubt they'd be in office much longer. The higher in price Auroracoin goes before the Airdrop, the less likely Icelandic politicians will be able to stop it.

I'm going to create a coin next to replace Zimbabwe's currency... Who is with me?
This is the most insane thing I have ever read. The best part is people are actually buying into this??
What is insane about utilizing technology to give people choice and empower them? I personally don't think Auroracoin will REPLACE the Krona, but I do believe it will be widely adopted and put enormous pressure on Icelandic politicians who have been destroying the Krona to change their ways. That's why bitcoin was created... But when you say hey, this is just for a specific country... You give the "governments" a good reason to outlaw or eradicate it! At current prices, each Icelandic citizen will receive $271 worth of Auroracoin FOR FREE. I look forward to seeing what happens if Icelandic politicians try to make that happening illegal. Heh. Well I hope for the Icelandic people this entire story is true and it holds out for them. There have been WAY too MANY shady dealings in the cryptoworld and that's a fact. Agreed. I'm not part of the dev team. I don't even own that much Auroracoin. I just love the potential of what can happen here. Boy would I be furious if it was a farce. I really don't feel like it is though. It would be a very advanced and incredibly well-planned one.

Foodies, is it possible to put the total coins in circulation in your block explorer in a way that coinmarketcap.com can get that data automatically? The image you generate can't be scraped.

Let's say that the critics are correct. Let's say every single Icelandic person accepts the coins and then dumps. What will they dump for? Bitcoin. That means every single person in Iceland will suddenly have some Bitcoin. Every single person in that country will be utilizing cryptocurrency. Do you not understand how huge and exciting that is? And THAT is why everyone should be cheering on Auroracoin whether you think the actual coin has a future or not. This is a VERY exciting event in the history of cryptocurrency.

congrats top 5 @coinmarketcap with $70mil usd. why only 33 pages though?
This is not the marketcap. The market cap is 86 000 coins * price per coin. Maybe a little more. Not one coin of the premined coins is accessible by now. Look at the premined addresses. No coin has moved by now. So you have 86 000 coins by now and soon there will be - this the plan - 10.5mio. coins at one moment floating the market. This is like, in the end of the month, every American citizen gets 5 bitcoins (x122 of the current supply). Now you can guess what would happen with the price per coin... It IS the marketcap of all coins that have been mined. The 50% premine AND the current available coins. Do 86,000 x the current price of $6.69 and you will see your math is off But that 50% premine is not on the market, and it's still being counted in the market cap. Airdrop the 50% premine and watch the market cap plunge. I believe the airdrop will not result in a price plunge. I personally believe that the price will be much higher at the time of the airdrop and the media attention will result in an even greater increase after the airdrop. But let's say you're correct.
