I'd love to see Coinmarketcap.com have the non-mineable filter ON by default. Screw Ripple. Maybe I'll create a coin with 1 trillion coins, mine them all, and say they're worth $1.00 each and be the highest market cap  |

I add this to my suggestions along with my initial pitchdark. the chain suffix is very recognizable for cryptocurrencies whilst maintaining the darkcoin brand.

Please lets not start that just yet. We are currently in baby stages. If the anonymous technology is delivered in a reasonable time frame, I fully expect this coin to exceed Litecoin. Litecoin is just the original clone. No functionality expansion, apart from being temporarily asic proof. A truly anonymous coin however, has incredible potential. I agree 100% |

When coming up with a name, we need it to flow like this:
"Paypal Me"
"Google It"
The word(s) need to flow with Me and or It.
I propose simply, "Dark"
"Dark Me"
"Dark It"
"Darkcoin, now in alpha testing of 'Dark', its' anonymous spending technology".

I'm new to Darkcoin, are these good levels to buy at? What do you guys see this coin heading to within the next couple months? Thanks. We have everything Vertcoin has PLUS an anonymity feature in Alpha testing. And I assume you saw what Vertcoin did once people figured out its benefits. |

Well, during the 95 difficulty, almost everybody else bailed waiting for block 15200. I decided for the benefit of all to do what I can to push to 15200. I lost over $500 in lost revenues, but I figured we cant just be stranded for a week! Plus when we finally got there I would be able to recoup at least some of the lost revenues with more DRK.
I could have simply pointed my servers elsewhere during this drought, but I am a team player and I want to help DRK succeed. I only discovered it two days ago, but already I feel this community has great potential. With the exception of the whale and the Ddos'er.

Yes, update your windows wallet. You're not going to lose your coins but always do a backup of the wallet.dat file just to be safe. |

Not yet because neither exchange had volume API. I talked to both exchanges about it. Poloniex is working on it and c-cex already implemented it. I submitted the new information to coinmarketcap.com so hopefully we'll be added in a day or two. |

If you wanted to have anonymity features in an altcoin, would you be willing to use a coin with anonymous technology if it was not open source? Or would you require such a coin to be open source?

I think it should remain closed source a while after going live with it. Some people are going to use the plugin no doubt, even though most wouldn't. However, the promise that the source will be released soon, and the fact that it is working, will affect the market price positively (and thus general interest towards the coin). And also it creates yet another climax point when there will be countdown to the release of the source etc. All about marketing. Darkcoin would market itself if it went live with closed source. But most definitely not in a positive way. "Anonymity with closed source software? LOL" Maybe, MAYBE it would have worked in a pre-NSA-Snowden era. But these days? ABSOLUTELY NOT. |
