That's very sad! You can tell your cell operator about this and ask them to sync their time properly. You can disable cellular time temporarily and set your own time. 1-minute behind reality is not good!
Let me explain how customer service works here in America: 1. 1 hour on hold 2. I am unable to assist you with that. I can transfer you to X who may be able to help. 3. 30 minute hold 4. I am unable to assist you with that. I can transfer you to Y who may be able to help. 5. 30 minute hold 6. I am unable to assist you. Let me give you a ticket number and I'll have a technician call you back. 7. Technician calls. "Our infrastructure follows industry standards. We will take note of your complaint and may change it next time we upgrade our gear (sometime in the next 15 years)" So, yeah. I'll do that as soon as you give me a Bitcoinica code for 2 hours of my time. LOL. I will PM a $0.1 code to you... MORE CODES!! LOL

This is classic bitcoinca. Whenever the price moves too much in one direction bitcoinica executes large buys or sells as positions get liquidated. Its really a snowball effect and how we got up here so quickly.

I think you are forgetting about the effect bitcoinica has on the market. When the market swings to far in any one direction the position of those opposite to that of the market get liquidated and push it further.
As for resistance evaporating its currently 1000BTC to 6.46, our next stop.
Hate to say I told you so. Oh wait, I don't! LOL

I believe at latest count there are approximately 7 billion people on earth. Let's assume 1% (I know I know) use or are interested in having a bitcoin.
1% of 7 billion = 70 million people
The maximum supply ever of bitcoins is 21 million.
That means roughly 0.3 BTC available per person assuming even distribution. The numbers alone make you wonder how easily the price could skyrocket.

Economy / Speculation / Re: A Way to Spot Fake Walls?

Are you saying that the "wall" was the 123 btc ask at 6.499? FWIW, that was a part of my ask order, it was real and I don't run a bot. And it was mostly fulfilled.
The 1.0 btc orders sure look like volatility bot that buys and sells both ways (not mine, again, I don't run a bot).
I know this isn't proof, but whatever, I don't have any reason to lie that I can think of.
Ask(s) (Sell) Order Filled at: Sat 14 Jan 2012 01:31:08 AM GMT Amount: 5.00000000 BTC Price: @$6.49900 Total: $32.49500 Order Filled at: Sat 14 Jan 2012 01:31:18 AM GMT Amount: 1.42898866 BTC Price: @$6.49900 Total: $9.28700 Order Filled at: Sat 14 Jan 2012 01:31:30 AM GMT Amount: 50.00000000 BTC Price: @$6.49900 Total: $324.95000 Order Filled at: Sat 14 Jan 2012 01:31:36 AM GMT Amount: 50.00000000 BTC Price: @$6.49900 Total: $324.95000
It was 6.49 even. The walls can vary in size but if they are fake they will have warning sells ahead that are usually obviously computerized (ie 1.0). It would appear the warning 1.0 sells were for the 6.50 152btc wall which vaporized before yours was executed. i thought it was weird the bot would split the bid wall and it didnt with your confirmation.

Clever find, this may well be correct or wrong.. Im betting your onto something..
Now any equally clever people write a code to spot it or abuse it?
Its how I would write the code or rather just one of the strategies i would employ. There is no guarantee it would be executed and this is why sometimes bots lose money. I have seen this executed many times over in the past. The main thing that moves the market too fast for the bots i believe is bitcoinica. It is both good and bad for the market.

Same person now has a sell wall at 6.49 and a warning indicator sell of 1.0 btc at 6.48. If the 6.48 order gets executing the wall at 6.49 disappears.

Ok I have been seeing this pattern for a while and I thought I would share it. Often when there are walls 300+ coins i see the same number of coins spaced an even distance apart. A good example of this right now are the 1.0 BTC sells from 6.492 to 6.498.
It is my belief that the bots are using these as warning indicators to cancel the sell walls. This is how false walls are put up and right now it is on the sell side which means someone is trying to drive the price down without selling at the low price. Someone is trying to buy bitcoin so we should take down those walls ASAP!

After all this bearish activity it appears that most recent rally has pulled out all the bears attempting to push the price down. There is a lot of posturing right now but it appears that we are headed back up short term. Everyone yelling that it was going to crash is a sign that we were headed up. The next few hours will be key.

Bitcoin means something to those that would like to gamble online in countries that wont allow. There are those that use them to buy and sell drugs. There are more people who are interested in bitcoins than you might think. The fact that there will only ever be 21 million of them means that there will not be enough bitcoins for everyone (which is why they are so divisible). I am not sure what the price should be as that has yet to have been established.
