1441  Other / Off-topic / Re: Save you Bitcoin for your (grand) child / children? on: October 04, 2016, 01:19:41 PM
I am still unmarried so I don't think I will be able to save for them as may be in next few years bitcoin will be replaced by some other currency and in that case it will waste my coins, so I will prefer to spend them on myself.

you sound so selfish and without any faith in bitcoin Smiley

bitcoin is just starting to grow and become bigger, it is not a century old technology to become outdated and be replaced with something new this easily.
1442  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who here bets more than $1000 a game? on: October 04, 2016, 01:08:14 PM
How much do you guys bet?

not much because i am not rich so i try to keep the risks to a minimum and so i bet as much as i can afford to risk.

Quote
Are you overall a winning bettor or a losing bettor long term?

i am both Smiley
but i think in the end i am a winner because i enjoy gambling and i like these games that i play with bitcoin online. and it is like one of the practical way of using bitcoin for me.

Quote
IF you are a winning bettor who bets big, i would like to know if there are another books that is as good as pinnaclesports who won't shut you down or limit you if you win long term.

since you are looking for $1000 and more bets i don't think gamblers like that are much around here because to make bets as big as $1000 you either have to out of your mind with balls of steel or you have to be super rich that $1000 is pocket change for you.
1443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if Satoshi reemerge and created a new coin on: October 04, 2016, 12:52:13 PM
That's a legit possibility.

This new coin will probably take many of the innovations that we've seen in other coins.

He can easily prove his identity here on Bitcointalk.

If all this happens, the media coverage for Bitcoin will be at an all time high, and could possibly multiply the current crypto users.

This new coin could probably kill Bitcoin.

bitcoin is like satoshi's baby and why would someone abandon his baby and make another one in its place and want to push that to the public?!! that doesn't make sense to me so it is not a legit possibility.

besides if satoshi was looking for profit from making a pump and dump altcoin he would have sold his bitcoin stash when the price was above $1000+
1444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does experience matter in gambling? on: October 04, 2016, 12:40:10 PM
experience matters everywhere. you can't find anything in life that experience doesn't help. but this doesn't mean without it you can't do anything either.

for some games as you said it also (like poker) experience is everything and without it you can't do anything.
but in other games like dice it is helpful but not necessary. it means you can play it and win since it is based on your luck and luck only but if you have some experience to handle the strategy and handle your money you will have a much better time gambling.
1445  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You accidentally find Satoshi.....What would you do? on: October 04, 2016, 12:31:22 PM
Satoshi is a real person. He is probably in his early forties. The problem with being an innovative thinker and filthy rich is that you get bored unless you're keeping yourself busy.

So, he is likely to be working somewhere in the technology world.

there are a lot of different speculations about identity of satoshi and i think he is either dead or he is one of the bitcoin developers right now and we will never know his identity because he chose it to stay this way.

Quote
What if you accidentally figure out the guy you've been working with (sitting next to, is a customer, is a consultant, is your client, etc) is actually Satoshi.

What would you do?

the chance of that happening is less than the chance of me winning the lottery but i would freak out if i find out about him.

at first i am going to bombard him with questions about how he come up with bitcoin.
1446  Economy / Economics / Re: Banks' private blockchain initiatives and public blockchains on: October 01, 2016, 01:04:49 PM
I was reading about the Hyper Ledger project, a project that is overseen by the Linux Foundation and is supported by the likes of IBM, Intel and other known banks all over the world. Then it occured to me that it could lessen the chances of Bitcoin's adoption to the mainstream because the banks' clients which is comprised of the people who are productive to society would be diverted to their private blockchains instead of using Bitcoin directly.

many of these things that we hear or read about somewhere are only alternative ways that these companies or banks are trying to make for their own internal transactions and since bitcoin blockchain technology is a open source project nothing is stopping them

Quote
Bitcoin is lucky to have first mover advantage so it just happened to become somehow competitive and gained a following because of it. Now here is my question from all this. Is the ticket to gain massive adoption for Bitcoin or some other cryptocurrency project possible only thru the banks? But how is that possible when they do not want anything to do with them and are already supporting the development of private blockchains?

I believe Bitcoin will live on because it has a solid foundation but the same cannot be said with altcoins.

what you are forgetting is that bitcoin is decentralized and it is good and popular as long as it stays that way.
going to the banks and doing it through banks would be using fiat again so what is the point of having bitcoin in the first place!
1447  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your gambling strategy on: October 01, 2016, 12:59:14 PM
my strategy gambling
to dice play, only use marti angle

I am not using martingale anymore because it tends that if I use any gambling strategy as long as I am not lucky I will going to lose. And every time I don't plan anything for winning, it makes me win. So I guess it is better if I am going to do it that way and that is my strategy now that I am not going to think about profit whenever I do gamble.
Yes, and if we use matingale, we must have unlimited money because every lost in first betting, we have to increase amount of betting for double on second betting and in my opinion it is high risk and lost control my mind.

Not just you have an unlimited money, but gambling sites have limit on how much a player will placed on their bet.

That is one of the reason why martingale is not effective even players have a large bankroll.
Yes you are right, that is why using matingale for strategy on gambling games is not good idea, it will need much big amount capital from gamblers and owner of website gambling.

i still think that martingale strategy is going to work only if you can manage your money well.
it means you have to have a considerable amount of bankroll (not too big but big enough to support multiple losses in a row) and also you should start from a considerably low amount of starting bet size to work your way up there.
1448  Economy / Gambling / Re: Investing in btc casinos on: October 01, 2016, 12:54:21 PM
Better than gambling invest it on affiliate marketing.

You can make way more than 4%, usually like 30-40%.

Gambling is always a bad choice, and if you dont get players loose, you wont make money, so that is like stealing money from users legally.

You kinda like that stuff?

I think what you are telling is not true, even in affiliate marketing you are promoting the products which you cannot tell how much genuine it is, and person loosing in gambling is his own responsibility.

Gambling is addiction, affiliate marketing is work, in terms of genuine, no where in the world where you work, you cant tell how much genuine it is.

If you get a job at somewhere and you work for them, just by working can you find out how genuine are they?

Affiliate marketing is much better and safer method to earn. However you need to market it in the proper place and to the proper audience. It does require some work and dedication but in the long run it is useful and is one of the best ways to earn from gambling sites rather than gambling itself.
You cannot earn serious money with affiliate marketing, investing is always good because it can provide you bigger amount of money when you have a good amount of capital.

actually you can earn a lot more with affiliate marketing than you can earn with investing. because when you invest you are putting your money on a big pile of money so you only get a small share of everything.

but with affiliate marketing if you are good at it and know how to do it you get a very big share of the profit so can make a lot more.
1449  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum: Good alt or stay away? on: October 01, 2016, 12:49:18 PM
If you are investing on a good way I think it will be a good investment but the fact is that you have to invest exactly on the right time to be honest.

well this is true about all other altcoins, you have to find the bottoms to get in. and as they say:
Buy Low, Sell High

and for ethereum it has been like a roller coaster so far. it dies from big dump after big dump and all those whales dumping are waiting at the bottom at prices in range of 0.014-0.018BTC to buy back in to pump it up again.
1450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: what would happen to the alt market if poloniex bought the farm? on: October 01, 2016, 12:43:42 PM
now i'm sure these guys know what they're doing, but let's suppose poloniex shuts its doors. what effect do you think this would have on pumpville?

it is really hard to imagine what is going to happen. there just a lot of altcoins with a lot of volume on this exchange and the risk of them going down is the same as any other exchange service out there. i think there will be a lot of price drops. especially in ethereum

Quote
would people migrate to other exchanges or does poloniex have unique levels of trust compared to others?

obviously they will migrate to other places.
but i don't get why you say poloniex has  unique level of trust. they are the same as any other exchanger like bittrex, c-cex, bitfniex and cryptsy and i don't see anything that separates polo from others.

can you elaborate on this?
1451  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which crptocurency sites would you recommend for daily use? on: October 01, 2016, 12:35:55 PM
it depends on what you want to learn about cryptocurrencies, a forum like this or on reddit/r/bitcoin or /r/crytpcurrency you can find lots of information and ask your questions.

if you have any general questions just use google and you can find most of what you need on bitcoin.org. wiki on https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/ and also on stackexchange for bitcoin.

Is there any exchange will lower fees to start?

almost all of them have 0.2%-0.25% fee which is low enough to start. don't worry too much about fees.
1452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The danger of the cyptocurrencies on: October 01, 2016, 12:28:58 PM
You are probably aware of the recent news about removing the fiat money for good and building up the cashless world.

Have you thought that bitcoin maybe the first step of this utopia? What if CIA behind this project? Would you still keep your money as bitcoins? Would you trust them? Do we know who the hell is Satoshi Nakamoto? I suure don't.

There is one big danger ahead. If the paper money gets removed, you will have no choice but to accept to get paid in crypto currencies. And to the big point:

If you keep your money in a goddamn computer, the government can rip you off instantly if they wanted it. I am not saying they aren't doing that already as most of us are keeping *our wealth in the banks. But cryptos will make their jobs easier. Much easier.

What if bitcoin price rises to 1.000.000$ and gold and USD become literally worthless? That's when bitcoin will be the world currency, and people gonna realise that gold is just a stone, USD is just a toilet paper.

Your won't have another choice but to store your money only in crypto, because the other choices will be worthless!

I am not sure if that's a good thing. Being dependent so much on computers just scares me.

these are a lot of what ifs what seem too far fetched if you ask me. and some of them just look to me (at least this is my opinion) that some of these are not even well thought.

for example what do you mean by "what if CIA behind this project"? you mean what if they have some kind of malicious code inserted inside bitcoin code or are you thinking about them controlling the supply? both of which don't seem to be true to me!
1453  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2016-09-26] Gavin Andressen: Ethereum to replace bitcoin on: September 28, 2016, 01:50:00 PM
I don't know the impact of number of nodes on a network, but if Gavin based is opinion on Ethereum having more nodes than Bitcoin I don't think the fundamentals is solid enough, unless it is a personal attack on the Bitcoin core developers for dethroning and reducing his influence

first of all ethereum does not have enough full nodes and everybody is using online wallets and exchanges to keep their coins an other methods nobody is contributing to the network and that is your answer about the impact of number of nodes. if there were lots of nodes like what bitcoin has they couldn't have hard forked the coin this easily just the same way they can not fork bitcoin easily.

I don't know the impact of number of nodes on a network, but if Gavin based is opinion on Ethereum having more nodes than Bitcoin I don't think the fundamentals is solid enough, unless it is a personal attack on the Bitcoin core developers for dethroning and reducing his influence

It's purely because it's mined with GPUs. If it was still possible to mine Bitcoin with them there'd be thousands more Bitcoin nodes than there are these days.

i doubt that even miners are running full node.
most of them are doing pool mining and receiving their payment in their exchange address and dump just as fast.
1454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how much time you have spent gambling? on: September 28, 2016, 01:44:06 PM
i don't think i have spent that much total time on gambling because most of all i don't gamble that much especially these days and also the important reason is that i mostly gamble dice and that is only played with automatic betting so i only set the settings and go away Cheesy
1455  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gambling Investments on: September 28, 2016, 01:36:58 PM
I'm getting curious how much return you'll gain on your investment on betking this week after the 1000 btc loss from one user few days ago. I guess it'll be the site with the highest return this week because of that 1000 btc site profit.

what, am i reading this right?
do you have any reference for this. 1000BTC is a lot of money it is 600,000 USD i can not believe that only one person has lost that much!

but i am certainly curious to see the next week statistics of OP to see how this is reflected in his profit.

p.s. i don't see "the proof" on their announcement topic either, it is full of spam :S

edit: going through all the spam i found a screenshot here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=910134.msg16365260#msg16365260
but honestly that doesn't seem right to me that someone has made 2846.14BTC in only 3 days and lost 1012.99BTC
1456  Economy / Gambling / Re: Investing in btc casinos on: September 28, 2016, 01:31:18 PM
I am just gonna pretty much repeat what I wrote before in my older post, as it answers this question:

Serious, casino/dice sites which enable investment options:

1. https://just-dice.com
2. https://www.crypto-games.net
4. https://www.satoshidice.com
5. https://www.moneypot.com     - not exactly a casino, but bankroll investment nonetheless
6. https://safedice.com
7. https://betking.io
8. https://www.bitdice.me

You can find single one of them on our forum.

I am rooting for satoshidice.com

from that list and according to my research and also accoring to the statistics that this guy is providing each week here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1585408.0 it seems like crypto-games has been doing very well each week against my expectation.

Just wrote a blog post detailing how we secure 5000 Bitcoin of player and investor funds.

https://betking.io/blog/2016/9/27/How-BetKing-Secures-5000-Bitcoin-of-user-funds

good to know that you are using a safe hardware wallet.
i am just wondering why i have never heard about a casino getting hacked like we hear every now and then than an exchanger was hacked!
1457  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would the price be, IF..... on: September 28, 2016, 01:25:45 PM
all these ifs and buts will never get us anywhere with bitcoin, i mean it is good and fun to speculate about these things but we have to start doing something ourselves too.

lets think about the following two questions for a while:
how many of you people on this topic are even using Amazon and Ebay?
no how many of you has contacted Amazon and Ebay and asked them to add bitcoin payment?

it is a simple thing. these sites are only going to add bitcoin payment if there is enough request for it and if they can get over the legal issues. and as long as we are only talking about it in topics like this they will never add it.
1458  Other / Archival / Re: What would you say to people who advice you to sell all your bitcoin? on: September 28, 2016, 01:18:33 PM
i never take advice from random people who may not have enough knowledge to even be able to give me advice and this is advice on my money we are talking about not some random not so important matter.

so with that said, when i take advice from people i trust, then i listen to them even if they tell me to sell all my bitcoins because i am sure they have a good reason for it. and so far no one has told me to sell but they all say buy buy buy...
1459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: September 25, 2016, 11:29:54 AM
Invest only, and avoid gambling not matter how much you feel lucky that day, investing is risky but not as risky as gambling is, even if you will earn less than from gambling

If your aim is to only earn amount then you can apply that "invest only" but sometimes people wants to experience some thrills and excitement which you can't find at investing on a company so gambling sometimes with spending the amount you can afford is also good to release stress.
It's true, you should know your focus, but also we should not be too serious in making money in this world and we will not focus in investing activities only. Having a leisure time sometimes can be a big help for us to sustain the problem in life, and gambling is one way to entertain ourselves as long as we are playing for fun.
I am unable to disagree with you. Investing is for creating income generation for leading a good life whereas gambling is to entertain ourselves. But many people in this world going for gambling for creating income and not investing seriously by having proper analysis. They are making mistakes in both gambling and investing.
oh well thats part of the system but what is best if you lose from investment you will learn avoiding same thing to happen but if you lose from gambling you will keep on trying to regain it back keeping you lose more and more.

all investments have the same risks and everyone could not avoid the risk. because of the nature of investment such as gambling, but the existing system in the investment gives something definite benefits and can be accountable. So, enjoy what we do and continue to think rationally when doing something
If you really want a safe way to invest i think banks is a good place to be safe our investment but the problem they are just giving a small interest every year unlike online.. that is so risky..
For me investing in your self is the good way and safe if you have knowledge and skills you can use it to offer to other people here or other sites like upwork..

it is a wrong word to use for banks. and they love to keep saying it "invest in bank" because in fact you are not investing in a bank you are loaning your money to the banks so they can work in some different areas (invest themselves) and make profit meanwhile they share a tiny amount of that profit with you which will only satisfy you in sense of safety nothing more.

you other suggestion about starting your own business and investing in yourself is a lot better suggestion and i have some long term plans to do this for myself also.
1460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another way to invest Bitcoin without Mining on: September 25, 2016, 11:17:04 AM
One great site to invest bitcoin is giftobit. Invest small amount 0.06 BTC one time and secure spots in bitcoin earnings. Plus for this investment you will give 20+ videos whit hours and hours of video content about crypto currency and bitcoins in general. Trust me it is worth every μBTC. Join from my signature link and I will guide you to setup all.
I never look for any investment opportunities that too without any proper recommendation from reputed people. I believe there is no need to look for any other investments similar to bitcoin mining. I believe only with bitcoin investments as it has unlimited opportunities to bring unlimited returns for our investments.

you can still get into mining but not "cloud" mining since they are all scammy sites. you can also start mining altcoins if you are so interested in the mining process. there is only a need for a rather medium investment and then only a cheap electricity. so you can make profit from mining some of the altcoins and sell for profit.
